Fire on Fire

Nothing will ever taste the same again.

The memory flooded my senses, taking over the sane rational part of me. Well the semi rational part at least.

And I let it. I let the flashes of what played out earlier in the day consume my mind and soul. It was a blazing inferno that I happily let take hold like wildfire inside of me.

My eyes were shut tightly but I could still picture it as if seeing it for the first time again. As I brushed my thumb over my lip and traced its shape I paused, feeling where the end pulled up at the corner. How long I had been sitting here smiling to myself like an idiot, I don't know. And what does it matter anyways cause I could care less who saw me. Well that was mostly true, I think.

Nothing will taste the same again. I smiled brighter, feeling the thin line of my lips form under my thumb with a grin.

"Me? He — he—" I croaked through a whisper.

"You what?"

My eyes shot open hearing the voice, pulling me back from the memory I was far off daydreaming over.

"You. What." It repeated more carefully.

I sucked in my lips, hoping to wipe the goofy grin from my face before scrambling for an answer. Any answer.

Come on.

Seriously. Nothing. Say something. Anything.

"Hey…" The softest tone crackled like a fire going out. I couldn't look away as a pair of coal dark eyes gazed back at me. "I like your smile. Not whatever this is." The sass wasn't lost on me as he teased in his usual fashion. His hand reached out and cupped my face, running his own thumb over my tight lips containing every emotion that wanted to burst from behind them.

Maybe he had caught me off in my own world, reliving that moment. Maybe.

The thought burned at my cheeks but I still couldn't look away from him.

SAY SOMETHING FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S HOLY

"I uh—" My hand was on autopilot as it reached up and over his own that continued to coax my smile back out. "It reminds me of you." There was no holding it back any longer and I knew without a doubt my face showed every ounce of that fire he had sparked.

I watched as he studied me, eyes landing on my lips before turning out towards the river we sat at. Digging my bare feet deeper into the warm grains, hoping the sensation soothes my nerves a little, I looked out at what had originally caught my attention when I came here.

Every shade of crimson and scarlet danced over the water's surface from the setting sun. To say that it was as magnificent of a sight as Auri's own flames would be a lie. Auri held a secret to creating new shades and colors yet to be named.

Not that I haven't been jotting down my own attempts at naming these new colors, unbeknownst to him. A surprise I'll keep close to my heart until I've found the right pigments that would do the painting justice.

"I think I can do better." He joked with a grin.

"Oh, I know you can. Mi fuego." Feeling bold and wanting to prove him right I let my fingers timidly wrap around his, bringing the back of his hand up to my lips. His skin goosed as I placed the softest of kisses onto one of his small scars.

Even his scars held deep stories that I would never want erased from the chapters of his past.

From behind my eyelids I noticed the change in hue and color and as I opened to see his flames dancing in front of me, I knew.

Yeah.

Nothing will ever taste the same again.

Probably not my last impulse by as I purchased this last month BUT I bought one of Joseph Quinn's autographs from Galaxy Con and I don't regret it for a second.

I have a claddagh ring, necklace, pride anklet, and septum piercing that I wear every single day. The necklace and ring were my grandmother's and the ring was one she bought in Ireland 🥰

I'm a Broadway Bisexual so I've listened to Fiddler on The Roof like 9 times in the last week. I currently have If I Was A Rich Man trapped there.

Fuck Robin, just to start off with. Marry Steve, easy. Kill Eddie because he's already beating the death allegations. Kill and revive and also marry Eddie.

I work at Starbucks and instead of saying Happy Holidays we've been saying Happy Honda-days to each other and saying shit like "On this the holiest day of Toyotathon?!" And it cracks me up

I collect $2 bills! My Nan Nan actually collected them and as a kid they seemed so mesmerizing and magical because logically they shouldn't exist. When she passed away I received her couple of bills, she only had like 4. I used to work near this railroad that would hand them out as change because they did historical reenactment there and $2 bills were common currency during that time. I kept getting the bills as a tip or as change in the register, so I'd always swap it for two singles and keep the $2 bill. It's really made me feel like I'm sharing something special with my Nan Nan every time I add another. I'm up to about 18 of them now.

A work in progress for a friend. We jokingly came up with this title while we were hanging out at a fair discussing our own love lives. I said "Look at us! We don't 'pull bitches' as the kids would say. We're BITCH LESS AT THE FAIR" and then we laughed and said it would be an incredible fic title. So she's also the friend actively trying to find me on AO3 and hasn't found me yet. She thinks that me posting it will be her link to me but she forgets that you can submit work to AO3 on anonymous.

Hewwooo i just watched dominion todayyy

Spoilers below btw

THE MOVIE'S A MESS, SERIOUSLY.

Plotwise? Absolutely. Characterwise? Sorta. And i'm still mad that the prologue didn't make it to the movie LIKE WHAT THE FUCK-

Before watching it i already had a feeling it'd be a mess and yep. I didn't care about lewis dodgson (dogson??) he's super boring to be a villain, the same with uhhh eli mills (is that was his name in fk?) and that guy who wanted dinos to be a weapon in jw

I like hybrid dinos to be the threat much more like the previous jw movies because it felt more.....natural (p ironic cause hybrids aren't natural lol)?? I just like how i can feel the tension as the characters running away from em, it's the whole survival aspect yk?

But that doesn't mean it's not enjoyable tho! I love seeing dinos and dominion absolutely delivers!!! I wanna see the old trio back and yepp i love them having that shenanigans in the adventure, then owen and barry's friendship aaaaaaa, then blue and beta (wishing there's more of blue tho), and imo kayla is one of the best feature dominion ever had, i wasn't that interested (skeptical even) when i saw her in the promo/posters cause i had a feeling she'll ended up like zia (who in my opinion is pretty boring and bland) but nope! The way she loved flying and her plane and just trying to mind her own business? Yeah i love that lol. And maybe because i'm tired with the whole "dinos are worth saving kind of motivation" from the charas so that i found her character more interesting

Then the camp cretaceous tie ins eh? My heart fucking dropped when i knew that the dinos in biosyn are already getting chipped LIKE WHAT THE FUCK 😭 i swear the whole firecracker getting chipped by kash is already disturbing enough and now those dinos got thst treatment again i- 👁👄👁

AND EUGH THOSE CRICKETS (uh grasshopper?) WHAT THE FUCK. I gotta admit i don't really like em being a main threat tho, it doesn't feel jurassic to me tbh. But wow i love them too cause they're horrifying >:)

Oh and and and that a scene when someone called alan as dr grant will never not made my brain stopped working for a sec i thought it was steven grant from moon knight lmaoooo 😭 (i've been way too far and desperate for more mk stuff asjkshkss)

AND FINALLY BIG DINO BATTLE WOOOOOOOOO

I was dissapointed that there's no blue in there tho but goddamn the therizino and rexy team up against that bitch giga is so good 😩🤌

But again i'm sorry BUT the battle itself is the least enjoyable final battle i've ever seen compare to the previous jw movies. It's because the set up tho, the final battle in jw always had a special place in my heart cause i rex itself is already being the biggest threat there is and i am rooting for the heroes to save the day. But in this one? Is giga really a threat? I don't feel like it is, for the humans yeah but the other dinos? That's just the nature....there's no feeling to see giga as this unnatural being cause it's not a hybrid. I think it'd be more interesting if giga attacked rexy and therizino cause the chip, okay you know what they should've made that chip to be the main focus like in cc s5 😔

But in the end i still love it eheheheeee

Lastly when those dimetrodons appeared uGhH, why them tho 😭 I HATE THIS MF WITH MY WHOLE FRIGGIN HEART. They're just ugly and annoying and i don't like em 😔

Do you think that the Peneloise break up could finally give us Francesca and Eloise in action? I can't believe how she's not shown to be close to at least one sibling. And I heard that in the books it was Eloise who she was the closest with. This could finally be the perfect opportunity to let her shine. What is your theory about this?

Ohmygod anon you read my mind - this is exactly what I want in S3!! Thank you for this ask - it's a much needed break from all the Pelican and racial thinkpieces. Let's get into some S3 headcanons with these two!

Before I do the HCs, you're absolutely right that Frannie and Eloise are the closest in the books because they are Irish twins! They have the same birthday a year apart. They also look scarily alike in the books that in TDAI Simon actually keeps mixing up the two at the Bridgerton family dinner. It was hilarious. It makes sense with their age and also being witty in their own ways that they are close. I've always found it funny that the most outspoken Bridgerton and the quietly witty one were the closest in the books.

The lack of Frannie in the show is really sad because along with Kate, she's my favourite character and fave Bridgerton sibling - like yes I adore Anthony but mainly because I relate to him shshhs whereas Frannie truly is the BEST Bridgerton imo.

She deserves to shine along with her siblings, I just hope Bridgerton and Lockwood & Co. Are a bit more accomdating of Ruby for S3's filming. She was supposed to have a bigger arc and storyline in S2 but she got cast and started filming for Lockwood & Co. Tbh I was a little sad we missed out on a Frannie story (God knows it would have been better than Cousin Jack's storyline 🙄) but I'm just happy Ruby is busy and getting booked! Especially now as the lead in L&C.

Anyways onto the S3 headcanons/predictions under the cut because Frannie deserves more screentime and Eloise needs better friends next season!

- Eloise storms in Frannie's room once she's back from her crime ring in Bath (I still cannot believe they didn't even bother to give Frannie an in-show excuse this season 😭 so we'll maintain she was running her crime ring in Bath.) and immediately tells her about LW because if anyone can keep shit to themselves it's Frannie.

- Frannie is just like "I know."

Eloise goes 👁👄👁 "Why didn't you tell me?!"

"You're smart El I thought you'd figure it out."

[Btw we were robbed of Fran and El looking for LW in S1 and then halfway through Frannie figures it out and keeps looking at Pen pointedly while El is being a total dumbass about the signs right in front of her.]

- They basically bicker for a bit about Fran not telling her and El being smarter than that but having Pen as a blindspot. Also I feel like while they essentially have no connection, Fran did write to Marina a couple times to check in on her because she's just so lovely like that.

- Fran totally would have exposed Pen as LW once the Marina thing happened if she wasn't so busy with her crime ring sigh. She's also just really glad that El finally saw sense and got away from Pen.

- It was hard watching the sister you're closest to be best friends with an insipid wallflower who relished in ruining people's lives and reputations.

- The Pen of it all aside, Fran will be debuting this season and while Fran has seen both her sisters go through their debuts and knows how she'll handle herself, with grace and class as always, she welcomes the advice from Daph and El. Kate also gives her tips on how to avoid men who make her uncomfortable and to dress down rude ones.

- El is the first person she goes to when she meets the Stirlings. She gushes about John and then at the next ball El accidentally points out Michael, "Oh dear, he is gorgeous. You picked well, Fran." Ehehhe the foreshadowing of it all

- Fran can't do anything else but blush and be flustered because "El, that's John's cousin."

"Oh, my mistake." Then they go to formally introduce El to the cousins.

Stellar Additions from Trivia @hptriviachamp :

- All of that is a B/C plot of course and Bridgerton really needs to start using the sideplots to prop and support the main plot because CAN YOU IMAGINE EL AND FRAN TRYING TO GET BENOPHIE TGT??

- Like of course Francesca Bridgerton, the smartest sibling, figures out immediately that Sophie is the Lady in Silver and keeps dropping hints for Ben to realise it

- Eventually one by one everyone in the family figures it out and they all stand by watching in amusement at Ben's face blindness.

- El and Fran with their hints and shenanigans to leave Benophie in rooms alone together. Them recruiting Kate too who ends up becoming Sophie's bestie and helping her out.

- S3 I'm begging you to give me the El, Fran, Sophie and Kate fiercesome four sisters/sisters-in-law. El needs better women and friends in her life as do the other women and also more screentime for all! And especially our main couple next season Beneophie!!
