Let’s talk about parallels between Wilhelm and Sara in Season 3 of Young Royals
Because there are so many! This is a continuation of sorts of this meta that I wrote about them being A and B plot protagonists in season 1 and 2. I don’t know that I would describe them exactly that way in season 3, but I do think their plots, character arcs, and themes are meant to mirror each other very closely this season.
One of my favorite things about the parallels between Wilhelm and Sara this season is that comparing them really makes you hold Sara’s friendship with Felice on the same level as Wilhelm’s romantic relationship with Simon (and Sara’s with August) which I think is so important. Both Wilhelm and Sara go through breakups over the course of the season (I think Felice’s reaction especially frames her friendship breakup with Sara similarly to a romantic breakup, which I love). And both of their arcs are about mending those relationships.
Sara and Wilhelm both need to experience the world outside of Hillerska before they can mend those relationships. Sara is able to glimpse some independence, even just through getting her license. The whole world is open to her now, as Felice says in ep 6. I don’t know that she would have been able to make her decision not to go back to August without experiencing that freedom. And Wilhelm also needs to experience the full force of what life in the monarchy would be like before he is able to decide to leave it. Because of this they also act as our window into the two different worlds outside of Hillerska, the palace and Bjarstad. They create the larger context in which we understand Hillerska this season.
I love that both of their journeys of personal growth are symbolized through cars. Wilhelm is always getting trapped with his mom or a member of the court in a fancy car; it’s where almost all of the monarchy’s most onerous instructions on how to live are delivered to him. So it’s huge when he leaves his parents in the chauffeured car at the end of episode 6 and goes to find Simon, Felice and Sara in Sara’s beat up used car. Meanwhile, Sara has traded in horses for the car. This is stated pretty explicitly when her dad asks her if she would like to work with horses and she declines, saying that she has come to realize that horses are simply traded by rich people as status symbols, and her dad suggests she get her drivers license since it will help with any job she wants. In seasons 1 and 2 Rousseau is pretty heavily associated with August, along with the pressures put on August and the other elite kids at Hillerska to conform to expectations (@bluedalahorse has written the Bible on that here), so the fact that Sara swaps out the horse for a car that can take her anywhere feels like a step away from both August and the prescriptive norms of Hillerska.
Sara and Wilhelm both reject what they saw as their destined future. This is obviously really clear for Wilhelm; he assumed he would be prince and then king after Erik died, and his greatest moment of character growth is when he decides he doesn’t have to fulfill that assigned role if it will keep him from being happy and living authentically. I love the scene where Sara talks with her dad about her fears that she will fail in the same ways that he did because she also has autism and adhd. This is a less clear-cut assigned destiny, but that fear of becoming a self fulfilling prophecy is equally overwhelming, especially because Sara has already let down someone she cares about in a way that’s not dissimilar to how her father breaks promises. The fact that she’s able to come to terms with her dad’s influence in her life, but realize she really is in charge of her own future, is really powerful. (I also think it’s such smart writing about the way disability and internalized ableism can really affect your self image).
In order to break free of those predetermined destinies, both Sara and Wilhelm need to see a father/mentor figure as more than black and white. Wilhelm needs to acknowledge that Erik wasn’t perfect, and did help contribute to some of the abusive traditions of Hillerska. Sara needs to recognize that even though her dad isn’t a perfect parent, she still loves him for the care he is able to show to her and wants to have him in her life. I love that both Wilhelm and Sara learn to hold multiple conflicting emotions about their loved ones. They can be disappointed by some of Micke and Erik’s actions, but they can still value their relationships with those family members and recognize them as complex, complete people.
They also both go on a similar journey with how they see August. Wilhelm comes to recognize that August is both a perpetrator and victim of the class system and Hillerska’s systemized abuse. Sara similarly realizes that August is an adult who needs to be responsible for his own emotions. She’s no longer interested in saving him from his complex feelings of guilt, and recognizes his potential to find self healing. Both of those new assessments of August grant him more maturity and complexity than earlier in the show. (They also reflect the way that August grows, in fits and starts, over the course of season 3. If there was a season 4 of the show, I think we would really see August respond to Sara and Wilhelm’s new attitudes towards him in a way that would fuel future character growth).
Viewing Erik, Micke, and August more complexly also allows Sara and Wilhelm to forgive themselves for the ways they are similar to those people. They are able to acknowledge the shame they feel around their actions, but also forgive themselves in the same way that they forgive others.
Both Sara and Wilhelm have specifically let down Simon in pretty big ways (Sara by secretly dating August, Wilhelm by perpetuating the royal family restrictions onto Simon). But they are able to recognize those mistakes and reconcile with Simon.
Wilhelm and Sara both leave the monarchy (Wilhelm literally, Sara by refusing a relationship with August), but they also leave a kind of prescriptive romance behind. Wilhelm says no to having to monitor Simon, to having to roll out his relationship in a certain way to please the court, and to having their future together mapped out and their decision around children made for them. Sara says no to a smaller set of requirements, but the traditional ways that August sees romance are so influenced by the monarchy (which is in turn so influenced patriarchy) that they are similar in some ways. Sara says no to having to do August’s emotional labor, to managing him so that he will fit the image of a good heir. She says no to waiting for him to visit on weekends while he does military service. She says no to this grand plan that he has. (This was @bluedalahorse’s point originally that she shared with me, and honestly I think it's so smart). Wilhelm chooses a romantic relationship that he and Simon are free to create together without rules; Sara chooses a friendship based on honesty and support. Both are valid options that give the characters a sense of peace and freedom. And they would not have been able to make those choices without all of the growth they went through over the course of the season.
I think Sara and Wilhelm's arcs compliment each other so well, and it was one of my favorite things about season 3. I loved watching both of them get to grow so much and end up in such a happy place.

Charming Family Headcanons:
(This is important: NOT ALL CHARMING FAMILIES ARE RELATED!! It's like having the last name Smith. It's a common name, and they're all used as stock characters so fairytales can have children and carry on their legacies. So, Apple, Daring, and all the other characters with Prince Charming dads aren't related. Let's put this whole debate to rest, please.)
The Charming Kingdom is more of a federation. There are hundreds of small Charming kingdoms spread out across the Fairytale World. King Charming is the high king.
King Charming was the second son in his family line and thus didn’t know what his destiny was (if he had one at all). When he was destined to carry on the Charming name, he vowed to make them the greatest Charmings ever after.
His father and elder brother inherited the destiny of the legendary hero Siegfried. His relationship with his brother was very similar to Dexter and Daring's relationship.
King Charming’s name is Forthright. His wife’s name is Felicity.
Forthright has five younger siblings: Faithful, Favorite, Fastidious, Fortunate, and Fairest. His older brother is named Sigmund.
Felicity came from a Charming family close to the Sea Kingdom.
Forthright ignores Dexter for a number of reasons. He sees how he was in Dexter and resents him for it. He tries to live through Daring because he has the most potential. When he does pay attention to him, he tries to toughen Dexter up to be better, just like his father had done for him.
Darling takes more after her mother than she realizes. Felicity had once dreamed of becoming a sea captain and had a fascination with Neverland, but she had to "give that up" to follow her destiny.
All three of the Charming siblings have a complicated relationship with their parents, especially after graduation:
Daring had received their praise his whole life. When he found out he wasn’t Apple’s Prince, he was terrified of losing their love because he wasn’t their perfect little prince anymore. When he finally saw his siblings being emotionally beaten down by them, he realized all of their love had been transactional. He tried to make it work with his parents because he loved them and wasn't ready to lose their approval. But even after coming to terms with his destiny as the Beast, his parents (mostly his father) still wouldn't budge. He realizes his parents' obsession with image and status was more important than their own views on destiny.
Dexter received the most blatant abuse. Having been constantly compared to his brother, gaslit into believing he would never be good enough, and nearly embracing that sentiment, he nearly lost all of his confidence. As he started dating Raven, he regained that confidence and started to feel good about himself. When his parents finally found out about their relationship and tried to break them up, Dexter finally snapped and cut all contact with them.
Darling, being the only girl, was scrutinized over her looks and behavior every minute of every day. She got into the most fights with her parents when she was a kid, but she realized she would never change their minds. And being locked in a tower for a good chunk of her childhood didn't help either. She resorted to being sneaky, working out physically and mentally, so she could escape one day.
Forthright’s parents, siblings, and their families all live in Charming Castle with his immediate family. They all silently hate each other.
Both parents want what’s best for their family. But while Forthright seeks to maintain the family image, Felicity is genuinely looking out for her children in a misguided manner.
Forthright and Felicity’s marriage was arranged.
The Charming parents are high-paying donors to Ever After High and are Heads of the Heirs and Teacher Association.
They frequently hold parties to make political alliances. Their children are not excluded from this. Daring was 6 and Dexter and Darling were 5 when they went to their first ball.
Forthright is still secretly in love with Goldilocks.
Forthright "fell out of touch" with Pinocchio. In his younger years, he might have rekindled their friendship. But he sees the Woods too far beneath him now.
Felicity is secretly friends with Maid Marian.
Daring and Dexter became really close with Apple after she started dating Darling. Darling, Raven, and Rosabella also formed a sisterly bond. They call themselves the "Rebel Girlfriends Club."
Felicity tries to be a mediator between her husband and her children, but neither side agrees to compromise.
Lance Charming is Forthright's first cousin.
Forthright has tried to break up his children's relationships a few times. He disapproves of Rosabella because "How dare you turn my perfect son into a Beast!" He disapproves of Raven because she's "evil", and he can't have one of his children dating a villain. He doesn't disapprove of Apple, but he disapproves of her being with his daughter instead of his son.
Felicity keeps Darling on a strict diet. Darling only tasted junk food for the first time when she came to school.
In the future, Felicity would be more likely to patch things up with her children. However, Forthright has made his position clear.

Felix the Fuckboy Part 2
As the two of you finally reach your destination, Felix can't help but notice the excitement written all over your face. "I'm glad you agreed to come with me," he says in a softer tone than before.
You smile at his words and nod your head, feeling grateful for the unexpected adventure. As you both enter through the gates of the amusement park, Felix takes your hand once again and leads you towards one of the roller coasters.
Tumblr media
"Are you ready for this?" Felix asks as he straps himself into a seat beside yours.
You nod vigorously, feeling adrenaline pumping through your veins. As the ride begins to climb up higher and higher, you can't help but feel like everything is moving in slow motion. But as soon as it starts racing down at high speeds with twists and turns throughout its tracks, screams of joy escape from both of you. By now, everything seems like a blur as swirling wind rushes past your ears at 100 km/hour during this thrilling ride.
After several more rides filled with laughter and screams echoing throughout the park, nightfall arrives quickly, signaling that it's time to leave. You thank him for such an amazing day out together before parting ways - not sure what tomorrow would bring but you had a nagging voice in the back of your mind saying that all this was too good to be true, you ignored it.
Before you could leave, Felix grabs hold of your hand and looks at you with a serious expression. "Listen, I know I may come across as someone who's only interested in hooking up but being with you today was different," he says earnestly.
You look at him quizzically, not sure how to react to his sudden change in demeanor.
"I don't wanna play games anymore. I want to get to know you better and see where this goes," Felix continues, sincerity lacing his voice.
Feeling your heart skip a beat, you smile and nod. "I feel the same way," you reply softly.
With that out in the open now, the two of you say goodbye for now before going home. As soon as you're back at your dorm room, Felic follows up by texting: "Thinking about our day makes me really happy <3 Would love to hang out again soon!"

Time for a story - Fighting Fire with Fire
Tumblr media
Her call for help must have spread like wildfire, Felicity thought, overlooking the crowd that was growing bigger and bigger with each minute that passed. There were so many people here now that Felicity had needed to climb onto the roof of a truck, so she could oversee the crowd. Goosebumps spread all over her skin while she was taking them in.
Starling City was truly united. How else was it possible that people of different age, different socioeconomic status, different religion, different ethnicity and whatever else had gathered here with the same aim. Felicity could see an old man with his cane, and she could see a girl that could be barely older than twelve years, surrounded by a group of young adults. There were some of the homeless that came to warm up down in the foyer of the Science Center in winter as well as people Felicity usually only met during formal charity events. There was a man wearing a kippah and a woman that was holding onto her cross neckless. She could see thousands of different people and different groupings. They had all come here to keep Starling City safe.
Oliver had started this mission in an attempt to punish those who had betrayed it. Along the way, he had noticed that his mission, their mission had to be more than this. Now this was what it had become.
“Felicity?”
Turning her head to Bruce, she saw him holding out a tablet to him. She took it, finding live footages from half a dozen places within the city there. Those six places, all central to the city and yet somewhat spread all over it, were where Blood Rose and her henchmen would wreak havoc tonight. Their opponents were already gathering together there.
“We have to split in seven groups.”
Felicity said it quietly, so only Bruce and John who were standing next to her could hear. Lifting her gaze, she looked at John’s face, seeking his approval. Only when she nodded, she felt like this was indeed the right move.
“Time’s running,” Felicity said out loud, addressing the people that had come to fight with them tonight, “and Blood Rose has made sure that there will be attacks all over the city, so we need to split.”
“Lyla and Curtis are leading a part of you to St. Walker’s Hospital in South Boulevard.”
Although the crowd of people wasn’t easy to overlook, a part of the people just followed Lyla until they felt like it was like a seventh of them. Felicity wondered how they would make it to South Boulevard. It would take them too long to walk. She instantly remembered that Lyla was an A.R.G.U.S. agent though and knew that she would know what to do.
Everyone on the team would find their ways to their destinations. With so many heads working together, there was always a way.
“My brother Nick is joining the next group to North District.”
Felicity continued to split the group. She sent Tommy to Pennytown. Laurel joined a group at the Warehouse District. Roy was sent to The Triangle with another one. There was one more group that had to go. The rest would stay here with her. Here was where Blood Rose would attack, the seventh location.
“B-“
Felicity needed to stop herself. After she had called everyone by their real-life names, she needed to remind herself that Bruce still wore his mask. Everyone who could count to three could probably tell that he was behind the mask. He was the one link that they had to Gotham City. As long as there was no definite proof, nothing would happen to him though.
“Batman will-“
“-stay right here with you.”
Turning her head back over her shoulder, Felicity looked at John. She had thought that he would stay by her side here in the Glades.
“When Blood Rose really comes here, you need help with the tech,” John said, “so I’ll go.”
John was right. Taking on Blood Rose by herself was too dangerous. Felicity needed technical assistance, and Bruce could offer that. She nodded her head in agreement and turned back to the crowd that was left.
“John will go with you to Lamb Valley. The rest of us will stay here.”
As soon as John and his group were gone, the others stepped closer towards her. They gathered around the truck she was standing on. They looked at her, expecting to give directions and tell them what to do. It was so much easier doing so when she was behind her computers and the people that received her directions were well-trained vigilantes and not just the common people from the street. With her team, Felicity knew their strengths, their ways to go, their limits. She knew who she needed to assign which task because she knew what they were capable of.
The people she was looking at now were strangers to her. She didn’t know how much they could take. She was scared to tell them something, knowing it could lead them into their deaths.
“Blood Rose is dangerous,” Felicity told them, “very, very dangerous. We aren’t completely sure yet what she is capable of, but we know that she is a mastermind when it comes to technology. She will try to manipulate it, so make sure to stay away from it and certainly don’t rely on it. Other than that, we are just as clueless as you are. Everyone needs to be careful.”
A young man stepped forward. He was holding a baseball bat in his hand and twirled it around playfully. He didn’t look too worried about what was going on. He looked like someone who was ready to fight.
“What can we do to help you take her out for good?”
He definitely understood that tonight’s motto was all or nothing. They needed to go all in and stop this once and for all.
“Although we don’t know who Blood Rose will come with, we are almost sure that she won’t come alone. If you make sure that we can focus solely on Blood Rose, that would be great.” She made a brief pause. “If you need us, we will be there though. Keeping you safe is more important than taking her down. We will find a chance to do so anyway, so please tell us when you need help.”
Felicity hoped that they got the chance to take down Blood Rose tonight. If she escaped and disappeared, it would be incredibly hard to track her down again. Who knew what terrible things she would be able to do when they weren’t on to her.
They needed to take her down tonight. Felicity could only hope that they achieved that without losing anyone on their very large team tonight.
→ → → → →
They didn’t have to wait very long for the fight to start. Soon enough, alarms from cars and houses had gone off. The noises of shattering glass and shots being fired had broken the silence. The team they had left here had spread to fight the people that attacked the city. Since some men and women from the military and the police were on board, Felicity hoped that everyone was somewhat safe.
Bruce had gotten into the active fight too. Felicity had asked him to, so the people in the Glades knew that this neighborhood hadn’t been left to fall yet again. She knew that she wasn’t much of help going into a physical fight because her training had been meant to defend herself and not to go into the offense too much.
She knew a lot of people that were out there tonight didn’t have any training and they threw themselves into the fight nonetheless. Felicity couldn’t say that that thought didn’t bother her. It did bother her that she had asked people to help while she was crouching in some dark alley, working on her tablet.
Their main goal for the night, she told herself though, was to catch Blood Rose. That was her primary task, so that was what she needed to be working on, even if it meant staying out of the battles that were fought all over the city already.
Felicity switched back and forth between all surveillance cameras in and around the city. She looked for everything that looked even the slightest bit unusual. Doing so, she could also get a look at the fights that had started everywhere now. Right now, it looked like making their team this big for the night had been the right decision. They were holding their own against Blood Rose’s henchmen.
“Where are you?” Felicity whispered to herself.
This was personal for Blood Rose, especially tonight. Oliver was locked away where he couldn’t help. The city was a battle zone. Felicity was right in the middle of it and in the Glades. Oliver had put so much time and heart into making this neighborhood into what it was now. Blood Rose had to attack here.
For a split second, Felicity wondered if she was wrong. Blood Rose wanted to make it as personal as possible. She could attack the kids too. Then again, Felicity doubted that Blood Rose could possibly understand what being a parent felt like. Felicity doubted that Midas would have wanted kids, so he certainly hadn’t programmed a motherly attitude to Blood Rose’s character.
No, everything about Blood Rose had been formed around Midas.
Felicity continued to switch between the footage of the different cameras when one of the alarms that she had set up went off. She checked the alert message and perked up her eyebrows. Her system had noticed a particularly high use of electricity in Brook Street, near the clock tower. Calling up a map, she located the spot even more thoroughly and frowned. The increased use of power could be tracked back to an ice rink. That wouldn’t be too suspicious if Felicity didn’t know that the small ice rink was closed from April to September.
Blood Rose needed to be there to charge her batteries. Every once in a while, those robots needed to charge despite the super-battery that Midas had provided for them. Before a fight like this – a fight that she would possibly need all her energy for – she had definitely felt the need to recharge her batteries.
Felicity needed to get there. Even if Blood Rose wasn’t actually charging her batteries there, Felicity was sure that she wanted to bait her. She wanted her to come there and end this fight just between the two of them which was good because that way nobody else would get hurt.
Of course Felicity wouldn’t go there all by herself though. She was smarter than that.
Pushing her tablet under the leather jacket, Felicity hurried to the plaza in front of the Science Center. Bruce was involved into a fight with a dozen of armed hulks. He handled himself well, not that Felicity had doubted that. She was just glad to see that despite the enormous number of people that Blood Rose had recruited – even more than they had suggested – things were still going alright.
Pressing her lips together, Felicity considered her choices. She could stay and wait until Bruce was free to join her. She could also call him and risk that he got distracted talking to her, but he might also be able to free himself from his opponents and come with her. If she waited too long, Blood Rose might change her plan and come here though. That would endanger everyone that had agreed to come here and help out even more.
Felicity knew it was dangerous, but sometime you had to take risks. This one was a risk she could take because she could calculate it. She was a good hacker, a great one even. She trusted her abilities when it came to tech, just like everybody else did. When they went out on the field blindly, relying on just her abilities, she could do the same.
Although she was already turning around and heading towards the clock tower with quick steps, Felicity couldn’t help but think about what she would be thinking and doing when Oliver would head into a battle alone. She had watched from behind her monitors how he had done that uncountable times. When he had had good reasons, she had always understood it. She had always told him that it was okay and that he had no choice. If there had been another way though, she had asked him not to go alone. She had begged him to accept help.
Without stopping in her steps, Felicity checked her tablet and made sure that the unicorn emoji that was supposed to show her position did indeed move on the map. Seeing that it did, she pushed the tablet back under the thick leathers and quickened her steps once more.
She wondered what Oliver would say if he knew what she was doing. Would he understand it? Would he support it? Would he trust her abilities to keep her safe like he knew they kept him safe?
Felicity pushed that thought away. She couldn’t think about that now. She needed to focus because whatever Blood Rose had in store for her, Felicity knew that it would require her entire focus.
Once Blood Rose was taken down and the city safe again, Felicity would think about how to get Oliver out of prison. There was no way that she would just go on with her life and allow the love of her life to be locked away without her. There had to be a way.
→ → → → →
“They said it might go all down tonight.”
“My source outside told me the fights are worse than ever.”
“Look, I don’t give a crap about this city, but my family is out there.”
“I bet you a hundred bucks that the people out there are our people. The Richie Rich guys certainly won’t move a finger to save this city.”
“I wish I was out there to mingle in all of that. Sounds like a lot of fun.”
“Apparently that Bloody Rose Girl brought a bunch of henchmen into the city. My brothers are out there tonight. I hope they spank her ass.”
Oliver walked up and down in his cell nervously, trying to take deep breaths. With all the trauma he had been through, his senses were advanced. It had saved his life a lot of times. The open structure of the prison block did the rest. Oliver could overhear almost every conversation that the inmates had. Tonight, it was all about what was going on in Starling City while they were being locked in here.
He didn’t know if he should be grateful that he had been relocated to this block where he had contact to others, or if he should hate it. Most people here weren’t hostile towards him. They didn’t even seem to be too interested that he was here, so it didn’t really bother Oliver to be here. Tonight, overhearing all those conversations, he almost wished that he was back in his solitary cell where he was only tormented by his own thoughts and fears, not everyone’s around him.
At the end, Oliver guessed it didn’t make much of a difference which cell he was in. He hated that he was in prison tonight, knowing so many were out there right now. That Thea, John, Felicity and basically all of their friends and family were out there only made it worse. He had always been the first to throw himself into a battle, knowing that he couldn’t ask of them to do something that he wasn’t ready to do. Now he couldn’t help at all.
There had been a couple of times before, a quite small number of them really, when Oliver hadn’t been able to get out in the field. He had been hurt most of those times, and he wouldn’t have been of much help. Back then he had at least been involved by pacing up and down behind Felicity’s chair and offering advice when it was needed.
Tonight all he could do was pacing up and down in his cell while everybody else was out there, risking their lives. They could handle themselves, but-
A loud bang made Oliver’s thoughts stop. It had sounded like an explosion and judging from the alarm that went off somewhere in the building, he was sure that it hadn’t only sounded like one. It had been an explosion. The prison was under attack.
Oliver stepped to the bars of the cell, looking down towards the room where the prison guards were usually sitting and overlooking the security cameras of the block. One of them was on the phone right now, looking over the other guy’s shoulder at the monitors. The expression on their faces told Oliver that he was right. They were indeed under attack.
Taking a quick look around, Oliver noticed that he wasn’t the only one who had caught up on this. In most cells, the prisoners had stepped forward to the bars and were watching what was happening while more and more of the prison guards were gathering together. Whatever they were seeing on the monitors, it didn’t seem to be too good.
Another bang. Another explosion. While the first explosion had just drawn attention, this one called for panic. The guards were starting to run into different directions, most of them towards the door to the south block. Oliver guessed that was where the attacks were taking place.
At the same time, the inmates were showing their panic in form of anger. They jolted at the bars of their cells, shouting in anger.
“Let us out! Let us out!”
“If they come here, we need to fight them! We can help!”
“Yo, we don’t deserve to die here! If there is a fire, we need to get out!”
They were ignored though. That only made them angrier. Their shots grew louder. Some of them started throwing their toilet paper after the guards. Others just shouted or even screamed. It was bizarre.
Oliver continued watching what the prison guards did. Most of them were moving, talking on their radios while they were doing so. One of them – Officer Lewis, a young guard that Oliver had encountered a couple of times and that had appeared rather nice to him – wasn’t moving though. He was standing on the lowest area, speaking into his radio. His gaze was flicking back and forth between the floor and Oliver.
Whatever he had been talking about on the radio, Officer Lewis obviously wasn’t satisfied with the result. He looked at Oliver intently for a moment longer, then he turned away and hurried back down in the direction he had come from. He had barely taken five steps when he suddenly stopped. He clenched his right hand to a fist, opened it and clenched it again. When he turned around, he had scrunched up his nose and his forehead was wrinkled into a deep frown. He had made a decision.
Oliver wasn’t surprised when Officer Lewis stopped in front of his cell. He grabbed his keys from his belt and started looking for the right one to manually open the door. Doing so, he didn’t look at Oliver.
“Look,” he said, still looking at one key after the other although Oliver was sure that he had already checked each key at least once, “I might lose my job with what I am doing here because I was specifically told not to do it. I know that we need help outside though because these guys are trying to break out the prisoners in block C, and we don’t want those back on the streets. So I am letting you out… to help us.”
He eventually lifted his gaze, looking at Oliver. He hit the key against the palm of his hand repeatedly, waiting for Oliver to agree with him. He needed Oliver to confirm that his feeling was right, and he could trust him.
Oliver nodded his head. “I am helping you and you can lock me back up. I promise.”
Officer Lewis hesitated for only a moment longer. He then nodded his head and unlocked the cell door. Beckoning for Oliver to follow him, he hurried into the direction of block C. Some other officers they saw, shot them glances, but neither of them said a word.
“There are seven people. They carry guns and explosives. The explosives aren’t too strong, but the two explosions did damage a wall at the north side of block C. They are trying to get in through that.”
“I need my bow and arrows,” Oliver said.
“They aren’t here. They are-“
“One of the prison guards will have a quiver and a spare bow,” Oliver said.
Officer Lewis looked at him doubtingly. “Why would anyone-“
“My brother-in-law gave one to one of the officers,” Oliver said, “in case there was an emergency.”
“I doubt that anyone-“
When they stepped through the double door system into block C, Officer Gemmings stepped into their way. He straightened his shoulders and looked Oliver up and down pejoratively. Oliver hadn’t missed that Gemmings wasn’t a fan of him.
“Look,” he said, lifting his hands, “I don’t want to cause any trouble. I just want to help keeping the prison safe.”
Gemmings narrowed his eyes at Oliver slightly, chewing on his gum. He nodded his head slowly and nodded his head towards one of the doors.
“It’s a good thing, Nick gave me a bow and arrows for you then. You will need them.”
Oliver guessed he should be surprised that Nick had trusted Gemmings with that. On the other hand, Gemmings looked like someone who just came here to do his duty. If he could make some extra money, he’d take the chance.
“Come on.”
Officer Lewis led Oliver to the room that Officer Gemmings had shown to them. It was a small storage room with cleaning materials. The quiver and bow as well as one of Oliver’s suit were barely hidden in one of the shelves. Oliver put on the jacket for a little protection, put on the quiver and grabbed the bow.
He looked at Officer Lewis. “All I need is a door out, and I will chase them away and cover the damage.”
“Chase them away?”
“We can’t wait for the police to pick them up. With what’s probably going on in the city, they will have their hands full.”
“Well, we have some nice cells,” Officer Lewis replied, “and I think it’s safer to have them locked up here than out there in the streets.”
Officer Lewis was right. If they needed to be held captive for a while, they could just get a taste of what was ahead of them.
“I will take them out, so we can lock them up,” Oliver said, “and then I’ll get back to my cell.”
This time Officer Lewis didn’t seem to have any doubt that Oliver meant what he said. He grabbed the right key instantly and pushed it into the lock.
“According to the cameras, these guys are at the fence to the yard. They are probably trying to get in through the back.”
“The watch towers?” Oliver asked.
“Unoccupied. We are short-staffed tonight.”
Oliver nodded his head. “Don’t worry. I will take care of it.”
He let Officer Lewis let him out. Oliver stepped out of the prison building, his muscles tense and his fingers wrapped around the spare bow tightly. The people of the city where out there, protecting the city against the attackers. Now Oliver would make sure that they wouldn’t have to handle even more of those than they had to already.

Blood Rose was nowhere to be seen, but Felicity could feel her presence. It was just a feeling, one she couldn’t even describe. She didn’t know where it came from or what it felt like exactly, but she knew it was there.
Using the binoculars that she had taken with her, Felicity looked around. She had taken up position in the clock tower. From there, she could overlook her surroundings. No matter how thoroughly she looked, she couldn’t find Blood Rose though.
Felicity shook her head. She knew it was irrational, but she trusted her feelings more than she trusted her senses. Blood Rose just had to be somewhere.
She lowered the binoculars and grabbed her tablet, checking the footage of the local security cameras. None of them showed Blood Rose which didn’t surprise Felicity. Her alarms would have gone off if she had been on the records.
The increased use of power that Felicity had noticed in the ice hall had stopped shortly before Felicity had arrived here. She was sure that Blood Rose was keeping an eye on her and had noticed that she was on the way to meet her. If that was true, Blood Rose would come here eventually. Felicity could just wait.
Hugging the tablet to her chest, Felicity just looked out of the window. From here, the city looked almost calm. Apart from the faint noises that could as well come from a construction area, there was no sign of the fights that were happening everywhere.
Sometimes it was still weird how much this city meant to her. It had never been supposed to be like that. Starling City had always been supposed to be just a little stop on her way to greatness. She had wanted to work here for a couple of years, gather experience and then leave to take the next step in her career.
All of those plans had just changed when a blood-covered vigilante had been hiding in the back of her car. With that, she had found another purpose. She had found love. She had found family. She had found a home.
Starling City was her home, and she wouldn’t allow anyone to hurt it. For all it had given her, she needed to give the city that protection. She-
Goosebumps spread all over her skin and interrupted her train of thoughts. Blood Rose was here. She could feel it. With a loud thud, a knife landed in the wall right next to her head, telling her it was true. The final showdown would start now.

Well I'm here again!
This time I bring you all the first chapter from my New mini series, I don't know how many chapter it will have because I'm writing it when new ideas come to my mind.
I started the story before the end of the world because we all know the TWD story, maybe I'll write until the CDC, I'm not sure. But I'm not going to write a whole new TWD story following the TV show line, maybe it could be more like a prequel or something like that... I'm still thinking about it!! I don't know if I have to put it like a AU fanfiction either...
Anyway!! I hope you like it!!
Maybe the first one is shorter than the stories I usually post here, but I was exciting to know what all of you think about it! I promise the next ones will be longer.

1.
You walk in all tucked up and buttoning your work shirt. You cross the counter and your coworkers look at you with an amused smile.
"Sorry." You say making a small grimace of apology, the clerk laughs again.
"Long night?" she jokes and you groan softly. "Don't worry, we've already clocked in for you."
"Thank you...and no, I wish it had been that." You sigh and they look at you curiously. "The guy wouldn't stop talking and in the end he didn't even walk me home...it was a waste of time."
"Sorry, he seemed more interesting." They look at you apologetically and you put on your uniform jacket to start working. "We still don't have your badge..." She says when she sees you put on the badge with the name of a former colleague.
"It doesn't matter, I've only been here two weeks, and I don't care if they think I'm someone else." You joke.
You came to Senoia in search of a new life, you moved away from your old town and family wanting to do something else, of course Senoia was small and quiet, but it gave you the peace you needed. After a few days looking for a job you found a vacant position in the town supermarket, one of the girls had found her destined mate, his name appeared on her arm, apparently he was a childhood friend, soon after he also found her name and they became engaged.
For as long as mankind has been aware of it, people have been fated. They do not know how or why, but in some people over the years, as if it were a tattoo, the name of a person appears on their skin. Sometimes they are friends, acquaintances, sometimes they are complete strangers who are destined to meet at some point in their lives and start a new one together. Many people think it's romantic, they think it's poetic, others think it's manipulation, a government invention to keep everyone under control. Apparently everyone seems to accept that this must be so, they accept that, despite years of relationship with one person, they leave with another when their name appears on their skin.
It doesn't seem to make sense to you.
Your older sister was predestined with a friend of hers since childhood, they have two children and are happy. Your brother has a woman's name on his shoulder, but he hasn't found her yet.
You still have no name tattooed on your skin. You have had some partners with whom you have had great times, but you never created a real bond with any of them.
Your partners also have their partners, Donna is happy with her wife and kids, Felicity is meeting her man, but she seems excited and eager to take the next step, you are happy for them, but you really don't think everyone deserves to have a destined partner, you never know who it might be and what might happen next.
You don't want anyone like him.
Your eyes fix on a couple who are at the back of the supermarket, where the coolers with the soft drinks and alcohol are, they are talking to each other as one of them tries to hide some cans inside his baggy pants, you see how the other one looks around biting his nail nervously. You sigh wearily. You're not sure who they are, but it's not the first time you've caught them trying to steal something from the supermarket, your coworkers never say anything to them, but you're starting to get sick of it. You leave the labeler on top of the shelf where you are placing the new products that have arrived that morning and walk towards your colleagues.
"Who are those assholes?" You say pointing to the two men trying to leave with what they just stole.
It is obvious that the shaven haired man is the ringleader of the two, both are dressed in a scruffy manner, dirty clothes and look quite old, even his skin has traces of dirt and sweat, he must be in his late forties or early fifties, the other looks no better, maybe younger and at least looks nervous about what they are doing.
"That's Merle and Daryl Dixon, some redneck brothers who live outside in a ramshackle cabin..." Donna snorts. "Don't mind them, they always come and get some beer and leave, it's not..." But she shuts up because you're already heading their way. "Shit..."
"Hey, Dixon!" You call out to them and they both raise their heads at the same time. "Where are you guys going?" you walk over and fold your arms.
"Just havin' look 'round." Says the shaven one, the older looking of the two, he looks you up and down and gives you a devious grin and you feel instantly nauseous. "Is there a problem...?" he leans over touching the badge on your shirt. "Susy."
"Yes, yes there is." You don't even make the effort to correct him, to tell him that's not your name, you'd almost rather he didn't know. "I hope after you look, you'll pay for those beers you're carrying." You point to the bulging pockets of his pants with your head.
"Excuse me?" The man feigns offense and looks at his brother who raises his eyebrows, but says nothing. "Are y'accusin' us of thievery?"
"I'm not accusing you, it's obvious you are."
"Y'think we can't afford them?" The other speaks then taking a step forward. "Y'think we would come to steal from this shitty supermarket?" he snarls and his blue eyes bore into you like daggers.
"If you can afford them, do it and you'd be doing us all a favor in never coming back here again." You try to stand your ground, but the older man holds you by the neck and it scares you a little.
"Look, pretty girl, just because ya have a job doesn't mean ya can look down yer nose at a man, y'know what I mean? Much less talk to us like that." His nose brushes your cheek and you tense your jaw hard. "If yer pussy needs attention, I'll be happy to give it what it needs." He smiles and you hear the other snort through his nose, amused by the situation. "But y'have to ask me properly, beautiful, on yer knees and with yer mouth full." He whispers in your ear and then releases you, your legs wobble, but you don't get to fall. "And the fuckin' beers we ain't gonna pay them" He assures you. "C'mon, Daryl." He says to the other man and the two of you walk away.
Before they leave, Daryl grabs a couple of bags of chips as well and takes them with him, the door alarm not even sounding as they walk away.
Your body trembles with rage and impotence, you would like to go after them, call the police, but you know it won't do any good. No one will do anything. Your coworkers look at you worriedly as you return to the counter rubbing your neck.
"Are you all right? I told you not to listen to them."
"And let them steal whenever they want?"
"It's just a couple of beers and some chips, plus they come in once in a while, no big deal." Donna says putting money in the till, from her purse, you frown at the sight of it.
"It's okay, but you're paying for it. It's not fair, someone should stop them."
"Merle is a hopeless case, and if you go after him he'll make your life hell." Daryl is calmer, he's not a troublemaker, but when he's with Merle..."
"Yeah, what a shitty personality." You grunt again and walk away back to your work.
You spend the morning among the shelves, serving customers and restocking the products left empty on the shelves. Angry as a monkey, unable to get the Dixon brothers out of your head. Felicity has told you a little more about them, troubled past, abusive father, they've grown up wild and on the fringes of town, apparently Merle has been in and out of jail several times, doesn't seem to have learned from his mistakes, his brother Daryl has a temp job at an auto shop, but is easily sucked in by his older brother's bullshit.
You don't feel sorry for them, they're both complete assholes, and if they have to go to jail, you'll live much more peacefully.
It's the last hour, you are about to close the doors, Donna is finishing counting the box, Fely has come to pick up her boy and flirts with him at the door, you are finishing cleaning the floor when you hear Donna give your partner permission to leave. You smile as you see her excited, he looks haunted too, he doesn't take his eyes off Fely, you're happy for her, deep down.
"I'm going to the storeroom for a moment, will you take care of closing up?" the manager asks you and you nod.
You leave the mop in its place and walk over to the counter to get the keys and lock the doors. Before you get there, you hear the door jingle and see the Dixon brothers appear over there. Again you tense up at the sight of Merle smiling at you in that disgusted way.
"It's closed."
"Look, li'brother, who we've here again." Smiles Merle walking straight towards you. "Ya miss us, Susy?"
"Have you missed me? Because you came twice in the same day."
"Yer quick..." He smiles again looking at his brother, Daryl is a few steps behind, chewing his lip, he looks nervous, he doesn't want to be there, but again his brother drags him with him. "Grab some beers and a bottle of whiskey while I talk to the lady."
"Merle..."
"Y'ain't hear me?"
Daryl snaps in frustration and wanders off to the coolers to get some beers and the bottle his brother said, when you try to stop him, Merle steps into your path, blocking your path with his body. You instinctively back away, the last thing you want is for him to touch you.
"You're not going to pay for that either, are you?"
"Yer smart, sweetheart, but if ya wanna, I'll pay for it another way..." He wags his tongue obscenely and you pull away again.
"Oh for God's sake, no. Do you really think anyone would want anything to do with you? If it wasn't for your looks, your smell would be taken care of already, do you guys not know what a shower is?"
Merle's smile instantly disappears turning into an angry gesture, he advances towards you, after you, ready to make you pay for your words, but you keep moving away avoiding his muddy and dirty hands touching you. When he raises his hand to try to grab you by the throat again, you hit it hard, enraging him again.
"Fuckin' bitch..."
"Merle!" Daryl stops his brother, Merle turns to look at him. "I got it, leave that frigid bitch alone and let's get the fuck out of here." He barks again.
"You're in luck, bitch, my brother's in a hurry." She huffs and walks away, but in the process knocks over a shelf of cans of food that explode as they hit the floor, leaving everything a mess.
"Asshole..." You snort after they're gone.
"What happened?" Donna is surprised when she comes out of the warehouse.
"The Dixon brothers. Go home, they're waiting for you."
"You don't mind locking up by yourself?"
"No, don't worry, it was my fault, I shouldn't have provoked him..."
"Don't worry, and come back to work later tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay, have a good rest."
Donna says goodbye and gathering her things she walks out of the supermarket leaving you alone.
Cleaning up the mess Merle has made takes longer than you thought it would. Lifting the shelf is heavier than Merle had taken to knock it down. All the cans have rolled along the aisle, shattering, bursting on impact from the floor, the meat is scattered and the juices leave the floor slimy and sticky.
Maybe you should have bitten your tongue and avoided the whole pile of shit you are now involved in, but no, your stubborn and provocative side has not let you think clearly and there you are, scrubbing the floor once again, watching the mop mop take on a yellowish color just like the water.
After an hour you put the mop back in the cleaning cupboard. You understand why Donna has given you the first hour of the morning off, it is very late and tomorrow you will not be able to get up when the alarm clock rings. Your whole body feels heavy and aches. You let out a groan as you change out of your uniform and walk out of the supermarket, closing the grille on the front door.
You hear a clink as your sneakers hit something on the floor, you lower your head and discover a half-finished bottle of whiskey, next to it are several bills and a note.
"Fer the beers and whiskey. Sorry."
To be continued...

Which LATGBG character interactions are the most fun for you to write? :D
That’s such a hard question to answer! They’re all so much fun in different ways— Siona and Davin are the typical best friend pairing akin to Wander and Sylvia, if Sylvia was a bit more shy and Wander, well… maybe he and Siona aren’t too much different from each other! It’s such fun seeing how they bounce off one another, while also bringing out attributes neither one would have expected! Davin, in growing confidence and Siona, learning to be herself wholeheartedly!
Holden and Siona are also a great duo to write— they’re so chaotic together, but also very funny and sweet! It’s Siona who usually has to hold him back from certain endeavors— but most of the time, they enable each other more often than not! It’s a struggle for Davin and Mika to keep things levelheaded when they’re out trying to do something silly!
Mika and Felicity are the typical prissy, uptight duo, but surprisingly enough they’re actually very close! Despite how dismissive Felicity can sometimes be of him, they’re just as close as Siona and Davin, if not more so! They understand each other better than most, and if they’re not gossiping, Mika is telling Felicity about the latest endeavors in intergalactic fashion trends, while Felicity is, well… gossiping! At least she listens to him, and even makes it a point to remember his words when it comes to certain trends/fashion seasons!
Lumi and Siona are also very fun to write— it’s a typical fish out of water story, but compared to both Davin and Siona, Lumi and Siona understand each other better than most! Most likely because Siona is the only one who is able to communicate with them, but it’s also because they have a deeper understanding that not even Davin and Holden can comprehend! Maybe it’s fate that they were destined to meet, or maybe it’s some intergalactic interference, but either way, they’re friends for life!
This didn’t really answer your question— it’s actually very unhelpful in the grand scheme of things, and I didn’t even get to discuss the odder pairings out of everyone! Mika and Holden, Holden and Felicity, Mika and Davin, Mika and Siona— so many possibilities to choose from; but I guess you could simply say they’re all fun to write! Thank you for your question!

Ray was brought on to Arrow (yes to be the ATOM) but mostly so he could date Felicity and then for her to end up with Oliver and then Ray's whole arc on S1 of Legends was to be with Kendra and then for her to realize she was destined to be with Carter so no one is ever allowed to say to my face how disrespected this man has been

È semplicemente incredibile quanto siano felici i fiori. Watching Oliver and Felicity’s relationship develop over Arrow must have been buck-fucking-wild for the citizens of Star City
- Oliver becomes CEO of his father’s company and one of his first decisions is to promote a random IT girl to be his exeuctive assistant
- The entire populace just assumes they’re fucking
- Then randomly Felicity starts dating Ray Palmer
- Oliver Queen suddenly vanishes, taking Felicity with him, and they re-appear in Ivy Town
- They publiclly get engaged, only for her to instantly get attacked and paraylsed
- They very suddenly start cancelling their wedding prep and send out ‘un invitations’
- Then they have a secret wedding that gets interrupted by a terrorist and then they randomly break up and start seeing other people
- Felicity’s boyfriend then gets murdered by the Green Arrow and it turns out Oliver has a son?
- Then they randomly get back together, only to suddenly go to Central City (not exactly a choice for a destination wedding) and turn back up married
- Oliver then gets outed as the Green Arrow, who MURDERED FELICITY’S EX-BOYFRIEND, and sent to prison
- Then they just randomly go off the grid, only for Oliver to turn up dead
Must have been a real trip to watch it unfold.

one picture you like best of your character:
Tumblr media
three h/cs you never told anyone:
In the brief time before Gabe, Miguel used to sing to Conchata whenever she got upset. It made him want to be a singer
He has a bullet scar on his head, where he was shot. In the same space that killed the version of him he replaced in Gabriella's universe
Xina's the one who taught him to read numberspeak
three things your character likes doing in their free time:
He journals! He acts like it's such a chore, but he loves his journal time. His hour where he can just rant to Lyla and she'll only partially judge him
He watches a lot of late-night television cause that's all he can bring himself to do after most nights of coming home overworked. He watches a lot of dramatic stuff, think like Law & Order and the occasional soap. As well as documentaries. You know he loves his dinosaurs. If he's intrigued enough he'll watch a true crime doc. He's definitely the type to be like "what a fuckin idiot" when the killer fucks up LSJFKSD
He loves reading about history. He's a big history buff, he knows a lot about the heroes of the Golden Age. He doesn't know a lot about the gadgets he comes across in the modern day, but he always seems to know people who aren't just Peter
Eight people your character likes / loves:
Gabriel O'Hara ( brother )
Peter B. Parker ( friend who's like a brother )
Lyla ( friend )
Jessica Drew ( girlfriend )
Mary Jane Watson ( girlfriend )
Felicity Parking ( employee )
Pavitr Prabhakar ( employee )
Charlie Essex ( employee )
two things your character regrets:
Not killing George Losing his temper. It's an ugly thing that he's not proud of. When it's brought to light and everyone has to see the same thing his mother hates him for. What he hates himself for.
Not killing Stone. Having waited so long as to take action against the system. Miguel had a problem with the fact he was making corporate raiders but didn't take action until tragedy struck to finally act
two phobias your character has:
Cherophobia: the belief that if something very good happens to a person, or if their life is going well, that a bad event is destined to happen
Monatophobia: the fear of dying alone

A star-studded cast are preparing to bring a gripping crime novel to life on Stan.
Luke Arnold (Black Sails, Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS), Bella Heathcote (Stan Original Series CAUGH*T, Stan Original Film Relic) and Jay Ryan (It Chapter Two, Top of the Lake) will star in the brand new Stan Original Series Scrublands.
The Stan Original Series Scrublands premieres November 16, all episodes at once and only on Stan.
The TV adaptation is based on the best-selling novel written by Chris Hammer, and you can watch the first trailer in the video above.
We don't have long to wait, as the series will be released in full on November 16 on Stan.
Scrublands is set in an isolated country town, where a charismatic and dedicated young priest (Ryan) calmly opens fire on his congregation, killing five parishioners.

Martin Scarsden (Luke Arnold) and Jane Gibson (Eliza Matengu) arrive in Riversend. (Stan)
One year later investigative journalist Martin Scarsden (Arnold) arrives in Riversend to write what should be a simple feature story on the anniversary of the tragedy.
But when Martin's instincts kick in and he digs beneath the surface, the previously accepted narrative begins to fall apart and he finds himself in a life and death race to uncover the truth.
Joining Arnold, Ryan, and Heathcote in the cast are Zane Ciarma (Neighbours), Adam Zwar (Squinters), Victoria Thaine (Nowhere Boys), Robert Taylor (The Newsreader), Stacy Clausen (True Spirit), Genevieve Morris (Stan Original Series No Activity) and newcomer Ella Ferris.
The series is an Easy Tiger production co-commissioned by Stan and the 9Network, in association with VicScreen.
Easy Tiger Founder Ian Collie and CEO Rob Gibson said they immediately saw the potential in turning the novel into a gripping series.
"From the moment we opened Chris Hammer's ripping page-turner, we knew Scrublands was destined to be a must-watch crime series," they said.
"We're delighted that our partners at Stan and Nine agree wholeheartedly, and we're thrilled to work with the incredible team there to bring this to the screen, with the crucial support of VicScreen and international partners Abacus.
"In the masterful hands of director Greg McLean, writer/producer Felicity Packard and writers Kelsey Munro and Jock Serong, and producer David Redman, Scrublands will be an unmissable TV event for rusted-on Chris Hammer fans and everyone else alike."
Scrublands marks the second co-commission between 9Network and Stan following the Stan Original Series Bali 2002, an inspiring drama exploring how everyday heroes from Bali, Australia and beyond defied the odds to bring order from chaos and hope from despair.
Stan Chief Content Officer Cailah Scobie promised the new thrilled would be both "powerful and compulsive".
She said of the new series: "Following the immense success of Bali 2002, Stan is delighted to once again co-commission with the 9Network.
"A remarkable crime series set in Australia's unforgiving and harsh landscape, Easy Tiger has secured an outstanding core cast in Luke Arnold, Bella Heathcote and Jay Ryan and we look forward to collaborating with them on Scrublands."
The Stan Original Series Scrublands is directed by Greg McLean, written by Felicity Packard, Kelsey Munro and Jock Serong, produced by Ian Collie, Rob Gibson, David Redman, Felicity Packard with Executive Producers Michael Healy and Andy Ryan from the 9Network and Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie for Stan.
The Stan Original Series Scrublands premieres November 16, all episodes at once and only on Stan.
