I adopted a cat who had broken one of her top canine teeth at just about the halfway point from the local humane society a couple years back. She's since had the tooth pulled (it was the first question I asked the vet), but how would that big of a tooth even break in the first place?
The tooth is not actually that large in a cat. There are a variety of ways that a broken tooth can happen, but most involve biting down on something that then moves away violently such as another animal, or some sort of blunt force trauma like a fall, kick, or other impact.
