Why do some people prefer cats over dogs?
Cats vs Dogs: The Ultimate Showdown Hey there, fellow humans! Let's dive into the age-old debate of cats versus dogs, shall we? And what better way to explore this intriguing topic than with a touch of humor? So grab your laughter hats and let's get started!
Tumblr media
Cats: The Purr-fect Companions So, why do some people prefer cats over dogs? Well, for starters, cats don't bark like dogs. No, no, no! They have their own unique way of communicating. They prefer a more sophisticated approach, like a refined meow or a subtle purr. It's like they're always whispering sweet nothings into your ear. If you fancy a good chuckle, you've got to check out their charming meows at mewcats.com. You won't be disappointed!
Tumblr media
But wait, there's more! Cats are generally quiet and not hyperactive like those energetic doggos. They know how to keep their calm and maintain an air of mystery. It's like they have a PhD in tranquility. You won't find them chasing their tails or bouncing off the walls. Nope, they prefer to gracefully perch on a windowsill, observing the world with an air of superiority. It's all about that "cool cat" vibe, my friends.
Tumblr media
The Low-Maintenance Lifestyle Now, let's talk about some practical advantages of having a feline friend. Cats don't require those long walks like their canine counterparts. Nope, no leash necessary here! They're perfectly content with their indoor kingdom. Just imagine the convenience of never having to trudge outside in the rain or snow. It's like having a personal royal servant catering to your every whim.
Tumblr media
And here's another perk: cats are self-proclaimed cleanliness enthusiasts. They are born with an innate talent for grooming themselves. No need for expensive spa treatments or endless bubble baths. They've got it all covered with their trusty tongues. It's like watching a well-choreographed ballet performance every time they clean themselves. If you're into the whole cleanliness thing, you've got to witness this spectacle at mewcats.com. It's a feast for the eyes!

aah i love your art, and liro's an absolute darling! i hope it's not too much trouble that i ask but how did you get so good at visualizing canine anatomy? i always have trouble making anatomy look convincing, they seem to always look one dimensional and flat. thank you and have a nice day!
Aaa thank you so much (and I know, right? I would be completely lost without Iiro).
Well, I was lucky enough to grow up with dogs all around me (my first neighbourhood was inhabited by many German Shepherd Dog enthusiasts, including my parents), so I’ve spent a huge portion of my life observing their body structure and movements. I may not know all of the dog anatomy tips and tricks whatsoever but I’ve developed a strong sense of knowing what ~*~looks~*~ right and what does not. On top of that I’ve had a ton of repetitive practice.
I bet anybody can get better at doggo anatomy though. Genuine interest in learning all about your drawing subject goes far. Most of those Really Damn Good Artists that I know of use references and do regular life drawing sessions, so those two things are another key to effective learning (it should also help your brain to understand perspective and forms better! You mentioned that your dogs look “flat”, I’m by no means a professional and haven’t seen your drawings so I don’t know for sure but that to me sounds like you could benefit from practicing forms and perspective?).
You didn’t ask for this asdfg but here’s a handful of woof tutorials etc. that have helped me in the past, maybe you/somebody else reading this will find them useful:

Dogs vs. Cats: Survey Says One Makes Owners Much Happier
Dogs vs. Cats: Survey Says One Makes Owners Much Happier http://bit.ly/2UksOrS
Dog Owners Are Happier Than Cat Owners, Survey Says
Are you a cat person who laughs at dog owners and their needy, smelly, barky best friends? Well, it turns out the joke is on you.
RELATED: How Having a Dog Will Make You Better at Dating
New research suggests that dog owners — despite having to walk their charge, play humiliating games of Fetch, and suffer the indignity of regular slobbery tongues to the face — are much happier than cat owners.
The results come from the General Social Survey, run by social research organization NORC at the University of Chicago. It found that 36 percent of dog owners are stuck in some kind of weird canine Stockholm Syndrome and report to be “very happy.” This compares to just 18 percent of cat owners.
When it came to people with both dogs and cats, 28 percent said they were “very happy,” while 32 percent of people with no furry bundles of joy said the same.
Woof Beats Meow
If this all sounds like a data department gone to the dogs, just look at the numbers. The GSS has been run since 1972, tracking large samples (they top out at about 3,000 adults) to glean American attitudes and behaviors on everything from smoking and sex to, well, pet ownership. This latest data set was gathered in 2018.
The survey also found that dog owners are more likely turn to their pooches for comfort and consider them family, and are also more likely to be married and own homes when compared to cat people, The Washington Post reports. All are pretty great when it comes to generating happiness.
Still, the general benefits of dog ownership are well known. Unsurprisingly, dog owners exercise more and have a more active social life.
Pets Are the Best
Still, don’t despair. Just owning a pet is good for you, regardless of whether it barks, meows, or chirps.
RELATED: How to Keep Your Pet From Ruining Your Sex Life
Research has indicated that simply owning a pet can lead to improved cardiovascular health and lower blood pressure. This is especially true with cats in particular. One 2008 study found that over a decade, cat owners were a third less likely to die of a heart attack or stroke when compared to the general population.
Plus, science says cat owners are smarter, while felines themselves are better for the environment than those energy hungry doggos.
So regardless of whether you’re a dog person or a cat person, there are benefits to making either a part of your family.

Run, robot! Run!
Image: youtube/boston dynamics
Google has released the bots.
And by that, we mean Google just sold off Boston Dynamics the company that designs and engineers all those creepy-looking, terrifyingly capable robots.
After putting it up for sale in 2016, Japanese tech company Softbank finally purchased Boston Dynamics along with Schaft, a company that specializes in creating bipedal robots from Google for an unknown amount.
SEE ALSO: Google’s plans for their new London HQ are the most epically Google yet
Now for those who aren’t as familiar with Boston Dynamics’ ~advanced~ creations, the company is best known for its BigDog line of four-legged robots which literally look like big metal dogs and its Atlas humanoids that resemble large mechanical people wearing massive jetpacks.
To put it quite simply, the robots are freaking terrifying. There are some with six legs that quite frankly look like giant bugs, and this other thing called a SandFlea that leaps across buildings.
Basically, Boston Dynamics is bringing sci-fi movies to life, and if you don’t believe us, here are seven of the creepiest videos of the company’s weird-ass robots to chill you to the bone.
Atlas pretending to be a human
Tell me you are not terrified watching this humanoid open the doors of buildings like it’s NBD, walking through the woods, stacking boxes, and jumping unnaturally high jumps. You can’t. This is weird as hell and we are not here for it.
And be sure to watch until the end to see rare and totally normal footage of a human beating up a robot with a hockey stick.
BigDog turned BigBull
Literally titled, “BigDog Weaponized,” this creepy AF video shows the four-legged robot (with bull horns attached) slowly and menacingly trotting towards a “cape.”
*nervous laughter*
BigDog enjoying a day at the beach
These things are walking in water there’s no stopping them! If putting this robotic canine on a gorgeous beach in Thailand doesn’t make it cute, just accept defeat and let us just play in the sand with our real doggos, please.
WildCat out in the wild
Ugh. The only thing worse than BigDog is this jumpy, smoking robotic feline, WildCat. As the fastest quadruped robot on Earth, it moves backwards, and forwards, and gallops which, I’m pretty sure normal cats do not even do and makes people want to scream, okay?
SpotMini wiping out
WildCat is a no, but SpotMini Boston Dynamics’ small dog robot thing is not much better. Skip to 1:28 to watch some scarring footage of SpotMini wiping out on banana peels (how clich) in a house after doing some light chores.
Real dog vs. fake dog
SAVE. OUR. (REAL). DOGS.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYTHING’S FINE
Is this the future you want, people?! Fake Santa Clauses being pulled by trotting robot dogs masquerading as reindeer? Holy heck. What have we become??!
*shudders eternally*
