Dying to self is literally a Christian giving their life over to communion with Jesus, just like when the disicples took the bread and the wine. It’s living in fellowship with God through the Son.
The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is think about Jesus and then start talking to Him because He’s right there. He’s always there, even when we don’t understand how, even when we can’t feel Him or we wonder why. The reason He lives in us is because He simply wants to. There’s no other place He’d rather be.

In Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo screams “No!” after Gandalf let’s go of the ledge. In The Two Towers, Frodo screams “No!” right before Gandalf let’s go.
If people learn to be intimate without want, they can learn to be best friends. Even if it’s a struggle, it can be done with patience and kindness.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. -Proverbs 27:17 NIV
I had two dreams I remember last night. In one, hobbits could fly. That was basically the whole thing; Merry and Pippin and stuff were just flying around, and the non-hobbits in the Fellowship were just going “WTF.”
The other, someone was using the playbooks of the tabletop RPG named Fellowship (which, I mean, obviously based on LotR) to basically recreate Zelda races – like, “The Elf” became a Zora, and “The Dwarf” became a Goron. A perfectly rectangular beetle affixed itself to my thigh, and I had to carefully slap it away without hurting it or getting hurt myself. It wasn’t particularly coherent, I guess.
