A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Dagur is affectionate in a passive way or a protective violent way. He’ll either mindlessly have an arm around you or he’ll be chasing down someone you are particularly annoyed with.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

It would take a lot of work for the idea of friendship to really settle. Dagur can be a lot to handle, but once you’re used to him you consider each other friends pretty quickly.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He loves to hold you as close as he can, usually with a firm grip around you and pulling you into his chest. As long as you’re there and he can see you when he opens his eyes, he’s happy.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

He doesn’t want to settle down in the traditional sense. But living your lives as true Berserkers with you at his side is something he daydreams about. He’s not the best at cooking, but he can manage with a campfire and whatever food is scrounged in a wilderness setting. His cleaning is subpar, but he tries.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

It would tear his heart out. It would be full of tears and the regret and anger would come later, out of your sight. He would tear the world apart.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

The commitment is the easy part for him, it’s realizing that he’s in love with you that takes time for him. Once he knows what he’s feeling he wants a wedding right away.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He’s not gentle by nature. His edges are sharp and his demeanor is dominating and loud, but he’s just a bit softer with you. Not soft by any definition, but less sharp than usual.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

He loves any kind of proximity, especially when he can have his arms around you. A true hug happens at least a few times a day and they are warm and solid as if he creates a shield around you without even trying.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

He says it to himself quite a lot. The first time he saw you in battle, fighting like a Berserker just a few feet from him, he said it out loud but you didn’t quite hear. He told you again after the battle, holding you close and grinning from ear to ear.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

There are two types of jealousy when it comes to Dagur. The first is explosive and fast. A sword strike that can’t be blocked. The second is slow and calculated. It shows why he’s remained chief.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses are loving and a wild contrast to the texture of his lips. He’ll kiss you anywhere and everywhere possible. He drifts into kissing your neck when you hold each other or he’ll find an excuse to kiss your hand as if you’re the chief and not him. But his favorite thing is when you kiss his forehead just before something risky happens. A hunt or a fight, you pressing a kiss just around his hairline makes him sure you’ll win.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

If the children aren’t scared of him and his general derangedness then he’s great with kids. They fit so well with him and he loves seeing them forge their way into little Vikings.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Slow and sleepy. He hardly ever wants to get out of bed unless something dragon related is happening or Hiccup is causing trouble right on the ship’s deck. He just wants to stay in bed with you and give the occasional kiss.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nights are quiet compared to the day. Dagur still has a lot of energy but it winds down fast once he’s comfortable. He steals blankets.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

He talks a lot, especially to you. It only took a few months of friendship before you knew most things about him. Some of the stuff he kept closer to his chest he told you later on in more intimate, personal moments.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

This is a joke, right? Quick to anger and he simmers until he has a reason to focus on something else. With you he is still quick to anger, quick to yell, but he listens and calms much faster when you’re with him.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He knows every detail you’ve given him and he will never forget it, but he doesn’t go out of his way to learn things about you unless it’s something he really wants to know.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Seeing you discipline his Berserker soldiers in his absence for the first time. He was mesmerized, unable to remove his eyes from you for the entire duration. 

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

He is well aware that you can protect yourself as a Viking and has no problem when you do so in the average situation, but if you’re staring down a threat together he will put himself in front of you. On the other side, he is awestruck when you protect him. On the occasion that someone catches him off guard and you save him from a debilitating blow, he can’t help but stare.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

As a chief he has many resources at his disposal and he will use every one of them for any given occasion.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Dagur is, in fact, deranged, and that can bring about many problems. One of which is jumping to conclusions. He is very clever and is often right when he makes these kinds of assumptions, but there are times when he’s wrong and paranoia gets the better of him.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He is not overly concerned, but if he has reason to believe you don’t like his hair or something he will scramble to change it because he doesn’t mind.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

With as close as you’ve become, he would be empty. There would be a hole in his heart that could only be filled with revenge, hatred, or depression.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

He cherishes waking up before you so he can take his time and note every detail of your face.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Cowardice and disloyalty are terrible things to a Berserker and Dagur can not stand them in any one. However, he does know there is a difference between cowardice and a timid nature.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

He holds you, tightly or loosely, he just likes to have an arm around you in some way.

Everything was going well. Too well.

He’d get that battle if it was the last thing he ever did.

“It’s so annoying, they won’t stop talking about my father!” Dagur complained offhandedly, before staring at you, some nameless Viking, probably some poor little servant girl.

You were boxed in by him and his men, a mindless waif he’d pinned to serve as quibble fodder and as something else. Just one of a handful he’d been able to pull aside and rough around, not enough to break the treaty.

Not important enough to be used as bait, but relevant enough for him to pull aside in his quest to find a loose string, one he’d pull to unravel the whole of Berk’s stilted operation.

“Really?” You spoke nervously, “I can see how that would be annoying.”

If the Hooligan Chief and his spawn were going to play coy, then he’d have to get his answers another way.

On The Edge Sneak Peak

Here is a sneak peak of a story an anon requested. Really excited to show this off soon.

This is a Dagur X AFAB Reader

It felt good being back to the edge after that strenuous training session, as Hiccup would put it. He’s been focusing more on accuracy to make sure we all can hit Vigo’s ships since the double in the last few days. We can’t afford to fail. Astrid landed next to me and dismounted Stormfly landing her feet on the hard wood beneath us. “Well, that session could have been worse.” She sighed out moving a piece of hair out of her eyes.

Letting out a snort as I patted my dragon. “Yeah. The twins could have accidentally set Snotlout on fire from their terrible aims.” Astrid shoulders shake from her laughing.

We continue our chatter as we head down to the ‘hall’ to have dinner with the others. Taking a seat in between Heather and Snotlout we all dig into our meals as Tuff tells us another one of his jokes. “-But somebody better explain how Yak stew got into my pants!” Hitting his palms on the table as he laughs hysterically. The others around laugh as I cover my mouth to contain my chuckles, even Hiccup joins in.

“Hey! Speaking of soggy pants, you ever wonder what happened to Dagur and his crazy pants?” This makes everyone stop laughing and give a confused but stern look to Hiccup’s inquiry. The though of someone mentioning Dagur makes me choke on my drink, which prompted Heather to look my way.

Back on Berk when we were younger, first time Dagur arrived, me and Hiccup were playing together by the cliff sides. Dagur asked if he could play with us, and of course we both agreed since he was a guest. It was nice to have someone different than Hiccup to play with, even if he was a bit rough. One time we decided to race, by choice of Dagur of course. We would run all over the village with Hiccup being in last and Dagur and I running head-to-head with each other leaving the small boy behind. Turning the bend to go into the forest I remember tripping over a branch and scraping my knee. Looking down at the tore in my pants I can see scratches start to weep some specks of blood out. The strangest thing happened though. It was the first time I ever saw Dagur-well concerned for another living being.

“Look your f-fine! Just stop crying and-just here!” He tore off a piece of his clothing and wrapped it around the small wound as I wiped the tears from my eyes. It seemed hard for him to find the right words to comfort me. Looking up at him he blushed as he held out his hand for me to take, lifting me up off of the foliage. Seeing that I was now ok he stomped away as Hiccup came around the corner, panting as he stopped next to me.

“What-what happed?” He asked out of breath.

“I have no clue.” Puzzled I watched as Dagur stormed off to the great hall.

I whipped my mouth as Ruff slightly turns her head to look at Hiccup. “No not really.”

“What brings Dagur up anyway?” Fishlegs says looking puzzled as he puts down his second piece of Yak.

“Nothing!” Putting up his hands in defense,”-but since were on subject of Dagur now-uh-do you ever wonder why he helped Heather escape form Vigo?” Hiccup questions looking at all of us.

“Probably to make a distraction so he could escape himself.” I chimed in wiping my mouth as Astrid nodded with what I said.

“Maybe. I don’t know-“Heather raises her eyebrow in question, “-but was if it was actually the first step toward a new life.” We all tensed up knowing that this would cause an outburst with Heather.

“Hiccup-“I try to warn him to not bring it but got interrupted with Heather slamming her fist down onto the wood of the table.

 “A new life? Dagur? A dragon doesn’t change its marking Hiccup.” The force from the hit knocking her drink onto her lap and mine. Fishlegs tries to intervene with knowledge of some dragons who can actually change their markings.

“You get the point!” She says looking down at her axe in frustration.

“Well, you are probably right, but look at Stoick! Who would have thought he would have ever learned to ride a dragon. I mean it could be possible that he’s changing.”

“Y/N’s right. Y-You never know, next time we see Dagur- “

“I’ll SPLIT THE FATHER KILLER IN TWO!” Slamming her axe into the table right beside her, splitting into into two.

We all stared in silence for a good minute. Afraid saying anything else might make that axe split one of use into two. “Yep. Ok. I-I think we get your point.” Hiccup says a bit frightened like the rest of us. Noticing the thin tension, she makes her way to the door of the clubhouse. “I better go I have island patrol tonight.”

“Actually! I will take that. I have a way more important mission for you and Snotlout! It’s-uh-one final recon mission to check out our target”

“What are you talking about? We went last time.” Snotlout as confused looking between Heather and Hiccup. “I know, that’s why I’m sending you two again to be one the lookout for any last-minute changes. And you should leave. Tonight.”

“Tonight?!” Shouts Snotlout.

“Jeez Hiccup. Are you trying to get rid of us?”

“Yes-NO no that’s crazy why-why would I- “

Heather chuckles, “I’m kidding Hiccup. Relax. Come on Snotlout sooner we leave, the sooner we get back.”

“Take your time! And by that, I mean be safe!” He sighs looking back to me and Astrid. We both look at each other puzzled as to what was going on in Hiccup’s head.

When we all left to go to our respected huts for the night, me and Astrid headed out together. “Something seemed off didn’t it. ”Astrid looked puzzled as she asked me. “It could he is just nervous about what’s going to happen soon.” I shrug. Looking at me she mimics the same response, “I guess you could be right.” I give her a sympathetic smile and I put my hand on her shoulder. “It’ll be alright Astrid. We just have to trust him.” She looks at me and chuckles. As we near our huts we bid each other goodnight and headed inside. Even though I trust Hiccup something did seem off. He never mentioned Dagur this much before. But that could be thought more tomorrow as I sluggishly made way straight to my comfortable bed.

Oh dear god they multiplied.

So in Berserker's Bride, we only ever see the eldest, Orvar being born. Since I don't know if I'll finish it, I thought I'd provide a spoiler of the other kids. Yeah Dagur and Hiccup have four other kids, much to the chagrin of the world. They're chaos wrapped in smart-ass. Not sure if I mentioned this, but I gave Dagur the family name Eldsen, Eld -don't quote me on this- being a Norse word related to fire- and "sen", being essentially meaning son a common part of Norse surnames. Red hair runs in the family hence calling themselves essentially sons of fire.

It's something of a private joke that Hiccup will look at her kids after they caused trouble and think 1. Her father is definitely laughing at her somewhere, and 2. Why the frick did she have so many kids? Dagur will then walk by without a shirt and she'll get all flustered thinking, "oh right, that's why." Also let's be real back in the day you had a lot of kids because you were expecting at least half to die before reaching adulthood. Hiccup had been content at four, the youngest wasn't intentional. Stupid sexy Dagur, lol. So a bit about each.

Orvar, aka Orvar the Honorable, the oldest, the apple of his family's eyes, of the five the best blend between his parents. Orvar is -mostly-sensible, level headed and decent warrior. Except for one thing. Orvar is TERRIFIED of blood. It may or may not have to with the fact that he was sprayed with an enemies life blood within minutes of being born, who knows. He was conceived shortly after Hiccup defeated the Red Death on the morning Hiccup was given the Eldsen family talon and the pair properly confessed their love. Orvar was then carried through a war with the Outcasts before being born in a dragon pen while his father was beat half to death. He grows to be heir to the Beserker tribe, as he was named by his father after living a month.

Sigrid, aka Sigrid the Sensible, is a as her name suggests, the most level headed of the children, usually the one keeping the rest out of trouble, including her big brother. Another private joke is that each of the children were carried/conceived/born under crazy circumstances. Sigrid was the only one whose conception, pregnancy and birth were pretty uneventful. Hiccup is convinced it's the reason Sigrid is something other crazy. She would be a baby after the time skip when BB tells the story of Race to the Edge. Despite being called the Sensible, Sigrid is the most effective warrior of the children. The others all know that, it's one of the reasons she can keep them in line. But she dreams of love and family, of marriage and children, rather than glorious death in battle.

Laddie, AKA Hiccup Horrendous Haddock IV, AKA Laddie the Mad, Hiccup was pregnant with him-Very Early Stage- during the events of the second movie. Laddie was also born early and weak as his mother had been. Luckily, Dagur had outlawed the casting out of hiccups years before so there was no objection to keeping him. The pair had gone back and forth if they wanted to brand their son with the name but eventually decided, eff the establishment, call him Hiccup and get him prove he was more. Hiccup had gone far despite being a hiccup, she wasn't even the first hiccup in her family to do so. To avoid confusion, they called him Hiccup-Lad or Laddie, for short. Basically Laddie is what happens when you mix Hiccup's inventive genius with Dagur's lack of regard for humanity. He's basically a mad scientist. For the most part he uses the name Haddock instead of Eldsen, since he's set to inherit the Hooligan tribe. Dagur still insist that they hyphen his family name in too.

Stoick Eldsen, AKA Stoick the Steadfast, the name Stoick was actually intended for Laddie, but since he was a Hiccup, they decided to hold off. He was the first child born after the events of the 3rd movie, still not sure how I was approaching that. Also, I never decided if Stoick I died during the second movie in BB but was a consideration. Stoick II is easily the largest of the children, towering over the rest in height and girth. Also, he's a big ol' himbo. While not oe to get in trouble on his own he was always persuaded to adventure by his siblings. Unfortunately, he was the least fleshed out of the kids. Stoick II is set to inherit the Outcast tribe, the one his mother won by right of conquest.

Dagny Eldsen, AKA Dagny the Wild, is the final child born t the couple. Like her brothers, her conception was under unusual circumstances. Something Hiccup simply terms was "a weird night", make of that what you will. Dagur whined that one child was named for Hiccup's father and one named after Hiccup and he felt he deserved one named after him. Hiccup reminded him Laddie's name wasn't because of her but his runty size. Dagur argued it didn't matter and Hiccup threw up her arms, saying fine, if we have another kid it's getting named after you. Dagny came along and Hiccup was slightly worried that Dagur would be annoyed his namesake was a girl, but as usual, Dagur was unperturbed. "We'll call her Dagny." And that was that. Dagny is as her title suggests, a wild-child. She goes on to explore beyond the archipelagos to the mainland, forging trade deals that benefit her brothers' tribes and has a hundred lovers along the way. Regardless of how many kids she has, no two share a father. To be clear, she is the main trouble maker of the family. Dagny very much lived up to her namesake.

Me: narratively speaking it doesn’t make sense for the dragon hunters, outcasts or berserkers to be comprised entirely of men.

Berk clearly has women warriors and doesn’t discriminate or delegate them to safer roles such as home defence. Women seem to be encouraged to be warriors and be muscly. There is a lot of interesting backstory to delve into with this, either drawing inspiration from the irl female vikings, or the darker implications of a war torn Berk desperate for all the warriors it could get its hands on regardless of birth rates (a man can have a hundred children a year, but a woman is limited to 1).

There are other tribes who blatantly follow these same practices, in some cases to higher extremes than berk. The Wingmaidens value female warriors above males as they are unable to manage the razorwhip population due to the animals gender bias. The defenders of the wing have equal male:female ratios in their village and seem to have a mandatory military service for all citizens, including women as all are in armour. Not to mention that they have a queen rather than the stereotypical chief, possibly mimicking the dragon kingdom that they worship.

Dagur doesn’t take offence to heather being a warrior, and there seems to be warrior women on berserker island, but the armada is shockingly made up entirely of men. The outcasts and dragon hunters take it a step further and have no women visible at any point. Compared to berk, the wingmaidens and the defenders of the wing, this is a massive discrepancy.

The obvious answer is that the creators didn’t have the budget for multiple character models, and so they prioritised the male models to fit the audience expectations. The defenders of the wing only have 1:1 gender ratios because their models are reused hiccup and heather models. The wingmaidens are the only culture with consistent multiple female models because it came later in the series, when the creators realised they had an extreme male heavy cast.

This is incredibly gross and should be talked about more as most modern (5 years old is still modern) cartoons have a male heavy focus in both characters and viewerbase despite a great deal of people claiming that women are fairly represented in media, and that feminism is no longer needed.

Sure! I've been watching Race To The Edge recently so I will base this a bit off the Season 2 Episode 'A Time To Skrill'. Idk if the Skrill is meant to be Dagur's Skrill or Darling's so I merged the two ideas. Sorry for the long wait :(

Note: Haha... I made this really long, my mind wandered. Wasn't sure how to end it though LOL. Enjoy Dagur losing his mind. Feel free to add your thoughts.

WARNING FOR HTTYD: RACE TO THE EDGE SPOILERS

The thing is with Heather and Dagur as platonic yanderes is they'd do a lot for family, regardless of side.

Your situation is similar to Heather's.

You were separated from your siblings and had to learn to fend for yourself.

Dagur most likely knows about you like he did with Heather.

How you became separated could be up to you.

Maybe you're older than the two and decided to leave on your own.

Maybe you're younger and was somehow just left with another family.

Either way the idea of not having both siblings disturbs Dagur greatly... particularly you.

When Dagur is reunited with Heather as a Dragon Hunter, he gains a bit of hope that you're out there.

Heather may not have known about you... but at some point Dagur let's it slip to her that their family isn't quite complete.

Heather is confused by this until Dagur explains, she's meant to scavenge information anyways.

That's when Heather learns about you, yet another sister of Dagur.

She herself hopes you're safe... even if she doesn't entirely remember/know you.

Meanwhile you have been training yourself.

Being on your own has made you gain a connection with dragons.

You're not quite a rider but are able to communicate with the creatures in a way.

Which eventually leads you to a Skrill...

The Skrill who used to be Dagur's... an encounter that seals your fate.

This is the same Skrill that has been freed by Hiccup.

When you encounter the rare dragon, it's incredibly hesitant and aggressive.

Although... with time you manage to befriend it.

These dragons are nearly impossible to train.

Although... you didn't entirely train it.

The dragon is still free for the most part, you've just learned to have a mutual respect for each other over time.

To the point you've had the Skrill defend your little camp at times.

It takes time before you're able to even attempt riding the beast.

Perhaps it's fate you befriended this particular Skrill.

The dragon doesn't always listen yet has an overprotective behavior towards you.

It's strange for you to see a dragon as menacing as a Skrill become so... tame around you.

Natural talent, maybe?

Or something greater.

Something that's important to note is the fact Skrills hold grudges.

There's a good chance this Skrill has a grudge towards Dagur for capturing it twice.

Which makes it harder for Dagur to get close to either of you.

Maybe how you begin to meet your siblings is by accident.

Heather may have found you first on Windshear, she was rather confused as to why she saw a Skrill all of a sudden... a familiar one at that-

With a rider.

Your first encounter with your long lost relative is when Heather gives chase to you on the Skrill.

Upon the Skrill landing, the dragon tosses you beside it and snarls towards the opposing dragon rider.

Once Heather lands, she notices similarities between you, her, and Dagur.

There's no way...

She speaks your name hesitantly, remembering Dagur speaking it at one point in time.

The Skrill snarls at her, electricity crackling throughout its body.

Based on your reaction... that was the right name.

"How do you know my name?"

"I think we're sisters..."

"Sisters?"

"I'm Heather... the sister of Dagur...."

Upon hearing that name you're bombarded with memories.

You remember playing with Dagur.

You remember him being protective, you remember him being extremely affectionate.

He called you his favorite sibling....

You're stunned into silence, the Skrill however....

The dragon is sent into a rage at the name.

Before you can call the dragon off it makes an attempt to attack Heather and her dragon.

Heather soon realizes the dragon doesn't entirely listen to you... even if it did, it has a strong grudge against Dagur.

Can't blame it due to the abuse it suffered.

Deciding to take the stranger's words with a grain of salt, you tell her to run.

Heather agrees and she flies off.

The Skrill prepares to give chase but you call it the nickname you gave it.

Hearing your voice pauses the Skrill's tantrum, the large dragon turning to you.

Its eyes look at you intensely before crawling to you and rubbing its head against you.

While you try to gain better control of the Skrill, Heather reports to Dagur.

Upon hearing her encounter with the Skrill, he's excited that his Skrilly is still out there.

But then... Heather brings more news.

Skrilly has a new rider... and it's his long lost sister.

Dagur pauses for a real long time at the thought....

"Sister... you're telling the truth, right?"

"Yes, brother. She seemed so... familiar. The Skrill definitely knew you, too."

Then there's excitement.

"YES! Ohh, how I've missed her! My sister even gets along with my Skrilly! I wonder where she's been... she has to join us! She needs to come here! How was she!?"

Heather quickly becomes wary.

You wouldn't join the Dragon Hunters, would you?

She never understood your true feelings of

Dagur, either.

That Skrill hates her brother, too... unless you can be separated this wouldn't work.

She will admit she wants to know more about you... but she doesn't want you evil, either.

You'd be better off with the riders....

"What if she doesn't join?"

Dagur glares at the idea.

"Uh, she has to? We're siblings! She loves me! If she fights then we'll do something about it, sister...."

This begins the hunt for you.

Heather wants to find you to try and convince you to join the riders. That way she knows you and her brother are safe.

Dagur wants to hunt you down and make you join him with the Skrill. He's missed his dearest sister... he'd do anything to find you again.

Meanwhile the Skrill wants to protect this human.

It heard that Dagur may be after you.

It doesn't want you near such a man.

Your bond with the Skrill strengthens over time.

You find it amusing how the Skrill tries to feed you food from its diet, cooing in an attempt to get you to eat it.

These are normally reclusive dragons.

But they can be loyal if they like their tamer.

You even practice flying with the fast dragon.

It's harder than you think to make a makeshift saddle to not fall off.

Despite Heather's best efforts, she may not be able to guide you to the Edge with the other riders.

Before she's able to you may encounter Dagur first.

Upon seeing you on the Skrill in the sky, Dagur is giggling.

"There she is! There she is! HEATHER. LOOK! There's our sister~"

"Dagur, what are you plan-"

"FIRE! I WANT THEM BOTH ALIVE!"

How you managed to get here may be a training session gone wrong.

The Skrill still wants revenge... momentarily forgetting you're on its back until it arrives at the Dragon Hunter ships stopped at an island.

You tried calling the nickname, you tried turning away.

The Skrill has one goal.

To protect you and itself, it has to destroy.

Despite the reckless behavior... your protection still comes first.

While its fired upon, while chains are shot, it is sure to keep you on its back.

That is until an arrow hits, overwhelming the Skrill's senses with Dragon Root.

In a weak attempt to shield you, the Skrill flips and covers you in its wings.

Your heart courses with adrenaline as you hide beside the Skrill, said dragon twitching when you move.

Your heart stops when you hear a voice.

"Hey there... took quite a fall, didn't you? Sister... it's me~"

You feel arms drag you off the Skrill, you're then pulled closely to an armored chest.

"Didn't you miss your brother!? Ohh, and you brought Skrilly too~! I've missed you so much... it's been years. Now our family's complete...."

"You shot me down! Let go!"

"No can do, sister... I let you go once before. I'm not letting you go ever again." Dagur says darkly, looking down at your tired body.

"Heather! Come see your sister~"

Upon the call, Heather lands with Windshear. She gives you a look of pity.

"Hey..."

You look so lost... so scared... these were your siblings...?

Shocking you all, the Skrill begins to sit up.

"Net! Get the net!"

The Skrill looks fatigued... but its eyes go wide when it sees the scene.

Dagur... holding you... danger.

The Skrill roars before a net pulls it into the water.

The dragon's gaze doesn't leave you or Dagur as it thrashes.

Danger, Danger, Danger!

"Aww, you get along so well! I'm jealous... won't we be that close too?"

You can't tell if Dagur was aiming that towards your or the Skrill... either works.

You panic when Dagur refuses to let you go... he holds onto you like a stuffed doll while he smiles.

"We should let our sister rest, brother. She looks tired."

Heather's suggestion causes Dagur to hum and slowly nod.

"Fine... come, sister... the boat is ready!"

You and the Skrill become kidnapped by your two siblings.

While the Skrill desperately fights in its cage, you're pampered.

Dagur hasn't left your side, neither has Heather.

They have different motives.

Heather wants to make sure no one tries anything.

She wants you to feel safe and would feel better if you were left with the riders.

She likes your attention and is happy to have a sister... but she doesn't trust Dagur with you or the Skrill.

Dagur, on the other hand, never wants you to leave the Dragon Hunters.

Dagur has noticed the Skrill is protective over you at times.

He's sad the dragon hates him... but is angered that the dragon keeps trying to take YOU away from him.

He loves his sister... lots.

He was so upset when you disappeared when he was younger.

Now he never leaves, much to the dismay of you and Heather.

There's times at night, when you sleep in your cell, he sneaks in to see you.

Dagur loves to hug you and hates letting go.

He's told by Ryker and Heather to get ahold of himself constantly.

He doesn't, often just bombarding you with his delusional affection.

Sometimes you're allowed to see your Skrill.

Heather allows it, Dagur hates the idea.

"What if she runs away!? That Skrill's going to steal her from us.... Heather, she can't see the Skrill!"

"It'll be fine, brother. Our sister will come around soon. Let her see the dragon."

When the Skrill does see you, it perks up and rams itself against its cage.

You're the only one allowed to be close, the dragon shoving its nose against the cage to sniff you.

It wants out... it wants freedom... it wants you.

Dagur likes the Skrill less and less as time goes on.

To the point he wonders if he should have the dragon slaughtered.

That Skrill will steal you... he knows it.

He's right. But it can't do it alone.

Heather actually helps you escape.

She's not as obsessed with you as Dagur.

While Dagur wants you to stay as a Dragon Hunter with him...

Heather wants you to side with the Dragon Riders, whom she's spying for.

She trusts you with them... even if she wishes she could take care of you herself.

Heather seems like a yandere who's self-aware.

She wants you safe while Dagur just wants to be suffocating.

Heather would portray releasing the Skrill as an accident.

The Skrill ignores Heather and immediately looks for you.

Its only focus right now is finding you.

Dagur is beyond pissed.

He gives up taming the Skrill and orders for it to be killed.

He can't lose you again... he refuses to lose you again.

The Skrill becomes possessive once it finds you.

Heather has to convince Dagur to give it up when he tries to fight the dragon alone.

She's never seen him with tears in his eyes.

"No! No no no no no!" He cries over and over again. "Do SOMETHING. Somebody do SOMETHING!"

"I will." Heather says curtly, but her intentions are still deceptive.

When the Skrill tosses you on its back and dashes away, lighting striking the boat as it takes off, Heather follows on Windshear.

Truthfully... she doesn't agree with her brother's obsession.

She feels a need to stay beside you, yet it's not as intense.

Somehow... Heather plans to give Astrid a message about you.

That way... she knows you'll be safe.

By the way that Skrill acts around you, she's convinced that dragon intends to defend you with its life too.

The dynamic could go for a long time.

Heather intends to guide you away from danger, preferring to defend you from afar, even against her own brother.

Dagur doesn't stop hunting you or the Skrill down, getting desperate with each passing day.

Meanwhile the Skrill treats you like its rider.

It hates the Dragon Hunters... but respects you.

One way or another... your paths with your siblings will surely cross again...

Even if it'll only cause pain to you and the dragon who has taken you in.

The kidnapped comic is only focusing on the second movie but is implied that the events of rob/dob happened

I'm Not Fragile was supposed to just be the first movie maybe the second but then rtte came out and I fell in love with it, when season two came out I took the final decision to add the series to the story.

There are parts of the main story where characters and events of the series start popping in, before deciding I wanted to add almost every single episode of the series I was already planning of adding in my favorites from rob/dob

So far Dagur and Alvin have already showed up, is minimal, but they are setting up a bigger problem for Hiccup on the future.

Tbh Mala, Atali and the Wingmaidens all didn’t fit the Rtte vibe very well. Even Heather is on the sharp edge of irrelevance, her arc imho only works because Dagur works so freaking well as a character and as her brother.

What about Big-Boobied Bertha. What about Eggingarde and the Wanderers. What about Bearcub’s Grandmother and Excellinor. What about Tantrum O’Ugerly. What about Termagant. What about an actual Camicazi who has so much fun at being badass that she manages to teach Astrid to loosen up a little :))))

The Httyd books had amazing female characters! We don’t see a single fat or buff viking woman be a solid character in the movieverse, despite the majority of Berk’s vikings being described this way! Wish Astrid’s Mom had been a thing or something! Wish we had gotten a female Stoick equivalent, with Bertha being the perfect scene partner! Wish my boys Snotlout and Fishlegs would have gotten girlfriends while another girl entirely didn’t care about boys! And wish everyone had left her alone and respected her, so that in the entire franchise nobody hit on her because it was simple etiquette!

Pepe Le Pew (Ruffnut Version)

I have considered the differences in movies and shows, then something occurred to me...movie Ruffnut was very boy crazy unlike her show counterpart. She was basically the female version of Snotlout, always going after the first guy in her path. Over the course of the movies, she showed an interest in muscles and craziness (2 things older Dagur has in spades). I'm not sure if this would have been horrifying or not, but I also think it would have been a little hilarious to have Dagur be around movie Ruffnut and just try to avoid her because she keeps flirting with him. I feel like he would have no clue what's going on, just confused by her constant 😉ing and 😏faces. I'm also sure Hiccup would be very disturbed seeing that and wouldn't be able to explain it at all.

The others especially don't understand why Ruffnut is acting odd around still evil Dagur. She weirds him out and he has the other Berserkers deal with her while he plots on the others. Good Dagur is finally starting to get what's going on and tries to find a way to decline without making the Riders mad at him for hurting their friend.

This is an illustration for one of my Aus which is the gods Aus where Dagur and some other characters are demi Gods who serve the norse gods and obey them , Dagur was gifted with the power of controlling lightnings and generating electricity from his body and he was considered to be the strongest of them all (the demi gods) which made him the favourite for the norse gods so they considered him a weapon basically, they used him for hard missions and tasks and for capturing those who are out of control .

Dagur had faced lots of problems and issues during the time he worked for the gods, as soon as he makes one simple mistake he'd be punished brutally, that caused him to develop anger issues and coldness in his attitude, with time he couldn't handle the humiliation and pressure that was put onto him until the day his rage was released on 2 of the demi Gods who were underestimating him since the day they knew him , leaving them lifeless . The gods weren't satisfied with his actions but kept on doing what they always do to him , his rage got out of control again resulting in killing one of the gods this time...this is when the gods knew they had to do something about it , they decided to take away his powers and leave him on Midgard , where he builds the desire for revenge and starts thinking of a way to make himself powerful again , he heard of those beasts who rule the thunderstorms , called the Skrills , he began his journey to their island searching for them , finding a big herd of skrills with their leader who's apparently a titan wing , he had some hard time dealing with them leaving him with scars and bite marks all over his body , at the end he earned the respect of the titan wing once it tried to strike him but failed , it was interesting to find out he was immune to electricity still. With the skrills on his side, Dagur felt strong again , he controlled them and they obeyed his commands , using them to destroy anything that came his way , his skrills filled him with power , he discovered that what the gods took away was his ability to generate his powers , which means he still can absorb the electric energy if he was hit with lightning or if his skrills provided him with what they've absorbed and stored of electric energy. With all the problems he caused in midgard he was getting more known to people, always trying to avoid him at all costs , he was doing lots of sabotage around causing the gods to worry more, but they didn't know what's coming for them yet✨️.

Imma tell you about his skrills now , so the one yawning is the titan one , Dagur's main , he travels on him while the other members of the herd follow from behind , the two laying next to each other are a couple actually , the female is the one without the beard <3 , the one in the corner is a cutiepie❤️ he's goofy and the friendliest of all also the youngest , this is not the whole herd just few of it , there are way more skrills 😭

next gen riders headcanons and ocs

Currently working on a THW rewrite and it's going to take me forever, but while I'm working on it here's some descriptions of the kids that are going to be in it. The rewrite takes place much later than the 3rd movie did so Zephyr and Nuffink are older. All the rest are OCs.

Zephyr (12 or 13). Rides a dark blue and green female Monstrous Nightmare named Nightscale. (I'm not attached to this same though). Headstrong and impulsive. She's a protective older sister but her shenanigans tend to get her brother involved in trouble. She's also quick to fight other kids that get in her face.

Nuffink (10 or 11) is shy and quiet, also somewhat mischievous. (Using Homecoming characterization as a suggestion at best) gets into trouble mostly by accident. Curious but also fearful. Wants to be just like his big sister but he's struggling to bond with a dragon cause they kind of freak him out. Like Hiccup, he was born premature, and his birth took a huge toll on Astrid. After that, Hiccup didn't want to risk it and said Nuffink would be their last kid, though Astrid was willing to try again. Because his birth was so difficult and he's so timid, Astrid tends to be more protective of him than she is of Zephyr, which can make Zephyr jealous sometimes. But she and her brother get along well.

Ingrid (around the same age as Zephyr) is one of the 3 (fraternal) Ingerman triplets. She's very intelligent but also vain and bossy. Has a purple and gold female Deadly Nadder called Nightshade. She and Zephyr are frenemies. In terms of appearance, she takes after her mother Ruffnut.

Ingvar is a himbo-in-training. Has good intentions but often puts his foot in his mouth and says the wrong thing. Rides a dark green, male Thunderdrum named Earthshaker. He looks a lot like Fishlegs but more athletic.

Inga is the quiet one of the triplets and spends a lot of time learning about dragons from her father (he's not supposed to have favourites but he sort of does). She's a natural with dragons and spends more time with them than people. She's kind to Nuffink but his aversion to dragons gives them little to talk about. She rides a pale blue male Gronkle. His name is currently Skybuzzer, but will possibly change. She's got a round baby face like her dad.

Rainier the Relentless, officially Rainier Dagurson (14-15) is Dagur and Mala's only child (and there's a good reason why). He's tall and lean with strawberry blonde hair and wears an eyepatch over the eye he lost some years ago...it's a whole thing. Very traumatic. He's an adept fighter and very much wants to be noble and honorable. But he's deeply unhappy with his home life. He's desperate for his mother's approval, but she's very busy and somewhat distant. He has his father's approval, but he doesn't want anything to do with his father. Lots of angst going on. Probably wears a lot of black. Baby Hamlet/Aemond Targ vibes. But he gets along well with his aunt Heather. He rides a female Skrill (which is going to require some pretty protective armor) whose name I'm still thinking of. Potentially Valkyrie, but I'm not sure. Also Rainier weilds a sword.

Nia of the Ayida (15ish) is a daughter of Bayana, a character from the Dragonvine comic. I've named their tribe The Ayida in reference to a West African serpent deity. She's the oldest of 3-4 younger siblings but they're not in the fic. She's a brave fighter but very cocky and her personality instantly rubs Rainier the wrong way. Their rivalry starts almost immediately. She loves taunting him and he just turns red, unable to respond for fear of behaving in an uncouth way. She rides a large blue/green female Silkspanner named Silverweb and also fights with a spear and Silkspanner web net. Silkspanners can glide, swim, and climb very well, but not fly. I imagine they maneuver in a Spider-man-esque way, so her saddle needs to include a very secure harness. Tbh I just started Dragonvine and I'm not too concerned with making it completely accurate.

There will also be 5 OCS who are the children of the Warlords from THW. More on them soon.

Heheheheheeh time for Jen's Mean as Fuck How to Train Your Dragon Fanfic Concept that I'm workshopping and plan on writing eventually sometime in the future idk when shut up and just listen:

Ok, so my idea is set in that vague year or so between the second and third movies (the shows are canon to this and characters from it would appear like Dagur and Heather and Mala and so on). Depending on how said fic goes, the events of the third movie may be rendered "non-canon" to this AU, but we'll see. Anyway...

At the beginning, we get a little of Hiccup struggling to fill Stoick's shoes as chief of Berk while still mourning his dad's death and also continuing to reconnect with Valka (also insert some hicstrid fluff bc i gotta). Suddenly, a visitor arrives on Berk, Valka's older sister, Thyra (I know there are HTTYD graphic novels that apparently establish that Valka is from Berk but not here, she's from another island further south in the archipelago and she and Stoick married for the sake of a political alliance (but also bc they were head over heels for each other). So Thyra, she comes to Berk, delighted that her thought-to-be dead sister is actually alive and excited to meet her nephew, and all seems well and good. Though Thyra takes notice of the certain... connection Hiccup has with dragons and she's fascinated by it (she's a bit of a scientific type, she does alchemy as a... hobby). At the end of her stay, she invites Hiccup and Valka to go back to her island (She's chieftess now of the island her and Valka grew up on, its still unamed, i'll come up with something); while initially hesitant, they agree to go for diplomatic reasons while Astrid and the other riders look after Berk while they're gone

So they go but not long after they arrive, Thyra shows her true colors; she is kinda fucking crazy, a coldhearted unethical scientist with a thing for really dangerous experiments on dragons and humans alike. She wants to basically unite the archipelago under one unified banner, with her in charge (we stan an insane, coldhearted girlboss). She realizes (correctly) that dragons are probably the key to intimidating the other tribes into compliance, and she manipulates/forces (whumps) Hiccup into joining her cause by using both Valka and Toothless as leverage against him.

Of course, there's another big twist to all this that happens about halfway through, but I'll leave that on the down-low for now. Even so, when and if I do write this, you can expect to see lots of good stuff like more mother/son bonding between Hiccup and Valka, a subplot with Astrid stepping up and taking charge in Hiccup's absense and suspecting something is up when he doesn't come home in time, viking political intrigue, unethical science (like I said), a much-needed female villain in this damn series, and angst, angst, angst galore.

Hello, everyone! Today, I've decided to make a poll due to it being the Year of the Dragon, AAAAND it'll also be Hiccup's Birthday. It's fate, so I'm determined to get a bunch of HTTYD fanfics done, mostly one-shots and stuff. However, this poll is to determine what multi-chapter, full-length story ideas to go with, because I can't decide. So I would appreciate some help, my dear followers! 😉🙏🏻

There are several ideas I'd like to work on, however, I'm struggling to choose which one to start on first. Granted, I have a feeling I know what you guys want me to work on first, but I still wanted to ask anyways. 😏

So before you vote, I'd like to list down the options below and a little summary as to what each choice will be about.

Spilt Milk (A Minlout Story) 

[Minlout and Heathlegs, with mention of Hiccstrid]

(Modern AU) A current WIP where Snotlout and Fishlegs take their girlfriends to an ice cream joint for a double date to have Shamrock Shakes for St. Patrick’s Day. But Snotlout forgets that Minden’s lactose intolerant and allergic to milk products, leaving her upset and she leaves, leaving Snotlout lost and guilty — and knowing that there’s a rift in their relationship because of his idiocy and inconsideration. 

Can Snotlout pick up the pieces and make it up to Minden for his mistake? Or is this the beginning of the end of the only romantic relationship he’s ever had?

College Years (A Heathlegs Story)

(Modern/College AU) This story follows Fishlegs and Snotlout as they deal with college drama, stressful curriculum, tough professors, problematic peers, learning to “adult”, dorm drama, young adult antics, and even love. All’s fair in love and college. The following four years will test the strength and durability of their friendship — especially when a certain raven-haired vixen enters their lives.

The Impossible Quest (A Heathlegs Story)

When Thorvald (OC), Dagur and Heather’s cousin, requests Fishlegs’ audience on Berserk, he and Snotlout decide to go fly over there. However, the welcome is hardly friendly. It’s discovered that Thorvald found the love letters and poems between Fishlegs and Heather, and that according to Viking law, the punishment for tainting a chieftain’s female relative through love letters and poems is death.

However, since someone came and told him about the records proving that Fishlegs is a distant relative of the Berserker Royal Family, he will be exempt from this fate and will instead be forced to participate in an Impossible Quest in order to win Heather’s hand in marriage. Should he fail, not only will he not get Heather’s hand but his life will also be forfeit. The Quest? Fishlegs has to hunt down a dragon that’s been terrorizing the Forest Interior of Berserk and has been preventing the Berserkers from being able to get access to the area where the Berserk bees live to acquire their honey. Kill it and give Thorvald its head. 

Will Fishlegs and Snotlout be able to complete the Quest and defeat the dragon? Or will they fail and lose their lives or their honor? 

Tradition or Bust (A Minlout Story)

(Arranged Marriage AU)

Snotlout and his family is off to the Althing to find a bride for Snotlout. While he’s there, he surprisingly meets up with Minden and the other Wingmaidens. When he asks her why they’re here at the Althing, she replies that Freya has released them from her service by sending the Razorwhips away, thus freeing them from their vows. While several went back home, most have felt unwilling to leave their fellow sisters-in-arms and Atali decided to establish the Wingmaidens as an official Viking Tribe and now rules them as their Chieftess, with Minden as her Heir. As a consequence, the Wingmaidens are now searching for men amongst their allies and Atali’s own clan for potential husbands. The catch? Those men have to cut all ties with their former community and join the Wingmaidens at theirs. It’s not strictly a matriarchal society, but neither is it patriarchal. 

Of course, Minden wishes for Snotlout to be her groom, and formally asks him to marry her. While Snotlout is both shocked, surprised, and ecstatic, he’s also hesitant and afraid because he knows that his father would be against this match, being a fierce and stubborn traditionalist to the Old Ways.

And he’s right. When Spitelout finds out, he’s furious. With Snotlout being his only male heir, Spitelout wants and expects Snotlout to remain on Berk with their family clan, so that he can inherit the mantle once Spitelout either steps down or dies. Thus he demands that either Minden join HIS clan or she can find someone else.

Can Snotlout and Minden overcome Spitelout’s chauvinistic thinking? Will they be able to be together? Or will they have to part their separate ways and marry someone else?

Snotlout’s Impossible Quest (A Minlout Story)

(Arranged Marriage AU)

An alternative story to “Tradition or Bust” where instead of Minden asking for Snotlout’s hand, Snotlout asks for Minden’s hand. This time, instead of the Wingmaidens, it’s just Minden with her maternal family — Atali and her family, with her (Atali’s) brother at the forefront as Chief of their Tribe. Not very impressed with Snotlout, and with other men competing for the hands of Minden and Linden, Atali’s brother offers Snotlout an ultimatum: either he completes an Impossible Quest of his (the Chief’s) choosing, or he relinquishes his chance of winning Minden’s hand.

Stormy Weather (A Minlout Story)

Snotlout flies to Wingmaiden Island, tasked to deliver a message to Atali, when a fierce thunderstorm hits him when he’s three-fourths of the way there. Will he survive? Or will history and deja vu repeat itself?

Saga of Snotlout the Strong (A Minlout Story)

(Saga AU) A story that has Snotlout running into a snowstorm. Seeking shelter, Snotlout, a warrior, asks the owner of the house — Johann — for his hospitality. When Johann leaves for a journey, he tasks Snotlout with the duty of protecting his family and property from raiders. When raiders come to barge in on the peaceful estate, it’s up to Snotlout to save the day. Can he defeat them and win both honor and renown? Or will he fail and be under their mercy?

Saga of Fishlegs the Bonecrushingly Strong (A Heathlegs Story)

Basically like the story above, but with Fishlegs, Heather, Berserker raiders, and him acting his alternate persona: Thor Bonecrusher.

Snotlout the Weapon-Tester (A Minlout Story)

(Saga AU)  A story where Snotlout is Gobber’s Weapons Tester in his village, and Trader Johann arrives so Gobber sends Snotlout to get his usual scrap metal and other items. He then meets Johann’s daughters and falls in love with Minden, his eldest daughter. Can a humble Weapon Tester like him woo a Merchant’s Daughter? Can he get her to look his way? Or is he to be forever doomed to be a laughingstock for being the only single youth in his village?

Snotlout the Goldsmith (A Minlout Story)

(Saga AU) A story where Snotlout and his brothers Throk and Fishlegs are out hunting and run into a group of Valkryies bathing. As they watch, they see some ne’er-do-wells trying to take advantage of them and corner them, so they decide to come to their rescue. Afterwards, the Valkryies introduce themselves as Heather, Minden, and Ruffnut. They then offer themselves to the men, each of them choosing the man they wish to marry. But they warn that they’ll be off to join in Odin’s wars after a long hiatus. So for several years they end up happy living together and even starting to have children of their own. But eventually they disappear as promised. Saddened, Throk and Fishlegs abandon their homes as they go on a journey to find their wives again, leaving Snotlout, and their children, to remain behind, Snotlout having faith that his wife will return one day, and thus continues life as usual.

However, Mala, Queen of the region where they live, hears of them and how Snotlout is a legendary goldsmith and warrior, and with a prophecy which foretells of this, Mala sends soldiers to take them and tries to pressure Snotlout to marry her. But Snotlout’s heart is still set for his absent wife.

Will Snotlout be able to get out and escape? Will the wives of Snotlout and his brothers ever return?

A Warrior, A Dragon, and the Princess Trapped in the Tower (A Ruffthrok Story)

(Saga/Fairytale AU) Ruffnut entered a tower to search for some goodies and find her brother, but she ends up trapped in the tower. Turns out it’s a trap made by a dragon and it imprisons her in the tower. So Ruffnut, absolutely bored out of her mind, just looks on in annoyance as warriors from all over the Viking world try to slay the dragon, only to be defeated. But hark! A warrior comes. Who is he? His name is Throk. Will he succeed in defeating the dragon and freeing Ruffnut from her prison of eternal boredom?

Switching Places (A Minlout Story)

(Arranged Marriage AU)

When Spitelout takes Snotlout to the Althing in search for a bride to carry on the Jorgenson name, he (Snotlout) certainly wasn’t expecting to see Minden of all people — not only without any Wingmaidens around, but also with her twin sister, Linden (OFC), Atali and her family. And he DEFINITELY wasn’t expecting that Minden and Linden were Atali’s biological daughters and Atali’s brother’s foster daughters. When Snotlout asks if her family’s looking for a husband for her and Linden, and their foster father cuts in and explains that yes, they are — that is to say that LINDEN is, and that Minden actually already has a young man whom he plans on marrying her to, much to Snotlout’s shock and Minden’s chagrin.

As if to make matters worse, Snotlout runs into the guy, and instead of apologizing, the man demands Snotlout to apologize, riling the latter up. If that doesn’t stoke the fire for conflict, the Twins decide to honor Loki by contributing to the conversation and managing to put a speechless Snotlout into an even deeper hole by declaring a duel between Snotlout and Minden’s almost-fiance: the winner gets to marry Minden. At the same time, Linden begins to form a plan to get Minden and Snotlout together — one that will be incredibly risky and could involve either much dishonor or even Snotlout’s death.

Can Snotlout survive the duel and defeat his love rival for Minden’s hand? Or will he fail and lose honor and face — and possibly his life? And what is Linden scheming with that brain of hers?

Case of the Missing Razorwhips (A HTTYD Short-story with Minlout)

When the Gang gets a message from Atali informing them of missing Razorwhips, they go to Wingmaiden Island to help them solve the mystery. Can they figure it out before the Razorwhips are once again on the verge of endangerment? And how will Snotlout ever find the time amongst the chaos to play footsie with Minden?

Atali Gets Amnesia (A HTTYD Short-story with Minlout)

After suffering an accident, Atali has lost all memory of being a Wingmaiden — and is even scared of dragons like a normal Viking. Not knowing what to do, the Wingmaidens seek the aid of the Riders. When nothing seems to work, Hiccup comes up with the idea to use hypnotism to try to awaken her memories, and asks Snotlout to work his magic! 

Will Snotlout succeed in his task? Will Atali be able to recover her memories and her old self back? Or will Snotlout blunder it up as usual? 

We Weren’t Meant to Be (A Minlout/Heathlegs/Ruffthrok Short-story)

Since DreamWorks/Netflix failed to show or explain in the final episode of the RTTE series how the SnotRuffLegs love triangle came to be and just let the Heathlegs, Ruffthrok, and Minlout pairings fade away without any logical explanation or natural progression, this story will have each pairing resolve this, and have it show how Snotlout and Fishlegs ended up competing for Ruffnut’s hand.

Life At Caldera Cay (A Ruffthrok Story)

[Ruffnut x Throk, Tuffnut x OFC] 

What if Ruffnut had accepted Throk’s proposal during “Snuffnut”? However, she only accepts if Throk allows Tuffnut to come with them, convincing him that having Tuffnut around would be beneficial for domestic duties. After the nice foot massages, Throk can’t help but agree. So Tuffnut goes with Ruffnut and Throk back to Caldera Cay, where Ruffnut becomes Throk’s wife. This story follows them as they live their new life, and there also seems to be a local Defender who appears to find Tuffnut’s personality endearing.

The Three Musketeers (A Minlout/Heathlegs/Ruffthrok Story)

Snotlout, Throk, and Fishlegs are part of the King’s Companions of the Wilderwest, and start getting involved in a conspiracy that schemes to dethrone King Hiccup the Third. Can they be able to stop the plot and protect the King? Will they also find love along the way?

Beauty and the Beast AU (A Minlout Story)

A story for which Snotlout stars as the Beast, and Minden as Belle’s roll. Minden has been sheltered in her hometown her whole life, but she has always been fascinated in the tales of dragons and dragon riders. But when her parents disappear while on a journey, Minden decides to leave the safety of her home to go search for them, until she comes to a place both feared and the source of legends: Breakneck Bog, a realm where a famous ruler had once lived before darkness descended and cursed the place, and no one who lived there was ever heard from again, and the place was separated from where Minden had lived years ago. There are rumors of a monster that lurks in the Bog, snatching passing travelers to devour once he returns to his den. Nevertheless, Minden goes in, knowing that her parents must be here after a friend spotted them enter here.

When she enters the abandoned castle, she calls for anyone to answer her, only to run into the Monster of Breakneck Bog: A humagon. Half man, half dragon. She bargains with the creature to let her parents go in exchange for her to remain. But it’s so difficult when the occupant is so... monstrous.

Can Snotlout be able to become a human again? Can he get her to fall in love with him long enough for the curse to be lifted? Or is he doomed forever to be in this hideous form of a humagon?

Quest for Camelot AU (A Minlout Story)

A story where Minden roles as Kayley the spunky daughter of a knight and Snotlout stars as the blind hermit Garrett in a Quest for Camelot AU. When Dagur the Deranged wishes to claim the Dragon Eye and become King of the Archipelago, can Minden and Snotlout stop him?

My Jolly Sailor Bold (A Minlout/Heathlegs/Ruffthrok Story)

(Siren/Mermaid AU)

Snotlout, Fishlegs and Throk join the crew of a ship on a journey when they’re beset by sirens/mermaids. But they end up getting captured and imprisoned. As the crew ends up being cruel towards them, Fishlegs stands up and protests against it and saying that they’re not evil creatures. While less sure, and hesitant, Throk and Snotlout join him in his protest. And they quickly help them escape. As a result of this, they end up getting up in a boat and marooned and left stranded on the ocean. As the three argue about whether freeing the creatures was the right decision or not, said creatures meet them from the ocean.

What will they do? Will Fishlegs, Throk, and Snotlout meet a grisly fate at the bottom of the ocean? 

A Mermaid’s Call (A Minlout/Heathlegs/Ruffthrok Story)

(Siren/Mermaid AU)

The male HTTYD cast get turned into mermen as a curse, and they can never hope to return back to their human forms unless they manage to lure a female in with their mersong that only they can sing.

As months turn into years which turn into decades, the men learn to learn and polish their songs and many attempts have been made with varying results. One by one, each of the men were able to return back to being humans again. Except for one.

Snotlout can only look on as his friends are able to go back to their normal lives and pretend that the curse was behind them, while he is left behind, the only one who has yet to lure anyone in with his mersong. He had a few bites, but none of it was enough to end his curse. Will Snotlout ever be able to find someone who will respond to his song? Or is Snotlout doomed to remain a merman... forever?

Prince & the Pauperess (A Ruffthrok Story)

The Twins are the Twins, but what if they had been separated since birth, and Ruffnut was given to a poor family, while Tuffnut is the eldest in the Royal Family? What would happen if Tuffnut was bored with his life and wanted some stimulation, only to run into someone who vaguely looks like him, but a girl? And what if he had a schemish scheme that had them switch positions for a few days? And said woman fell in love with his hunky hunk bodyguard Sir Throk? Surely, nothing BAD can happen... right?

The Quest for Camelot (A Heathlegs Story)

Basically, similar to the Minlout version, but with Heathlegs.

Robin Hood AU (A Minlout/Heathlegs/Ruffthrok Story)

Our dastardly trio will be playing the roles of our favorite characters in Disney's Robin Hood. Will they be able to win the hands of our favorite certain maidens?

Emperor's New Groove AU (A Minlout/Heathlegs/Ruffthrok Story)

Where Snotlout's the Emperor/King, but is blind when an enemy from within turns him into a dragon or a sheep or a boar (you guys decide). He then gets the help of a village chief (Fishlegs) to help him find the cure to bring him back to being a human. He also does a little soul-searching along the way.

Selkie AU (A Minlout/Heathlegs/Ruffthrok Story)

What happens when Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Throk find a group of Selkies? Obviously, they ask them to marry them! But will they accept? Or will they abandon them, leaving the with broken hearts?

Mulan AU (A Ruffthrok Story)

When her homeland gets invaded, Ruffnut decides to disguise herself as a man and join the Defenders, where her unit gets trained for the front lines. They’re being trained by Throk, Commander of the unit, whom isn’t bad to look at. However, her tendency for causing trouble, despite her excellent performances as a trainee, causes her to almost get kicked out of camp — that is... if the war didn’t decide to come to them at that moment. Between fighting the enemy and trying to keep the others in her unit from discovering her true identity. Will she survive? Will they find out her secret? Can they defeat the enemy?

Snotlout’s A Daddy AU (A Minlout Story)

(Modern AU)

When playboy and wealthy Snotlout makes a terrible mistake, Minden has enough and leaves him. Little does he know that his life’s about to change several months later. When Snotlout find a baby on his doorstep, he finds out through a letter that it’s HIS courtesy of Minden, and that if he can prove himself to be a good father to their child, then she’ll return to him.

Not the type who’s good with babies, not even his own, he enlists the help of his buddies Throk and Fishlegs, and even Hiccup. Hilarity ensues as they learn how to raise a baby and become a new father/uncles. Will they succeed, or will it end with a loaded diaper? Will Snotlout be able to get back together with Minden, now that he realizes how precious she is to him?

Virtual Intervention (A Spitelout + Minlout Story) 

(Modern AU)

When Spitelout learns that his son quit his day job in favor of playing World of Vikings all day, he decides to hire virtual assassins to kill his son’s character in order to get Snotlout back to normal life. Little does he know that there was an easier and much cheaper option.

Blog/YouTube AU (A Minlout Story)

There’s actually two different story ideas for this AU:

Story #1: Snotlout and Minden are bloggers or Youtubers who often look at each other’s blogs or vids, and can often collab with each other. They’re pretty popular and their viewers seem to enjoy a favorite pastime of shipping them and even coming up with memes. 

Story #2: Snotlout has a blog/vlog/Youtube channel, and he’s a relatively famous icon online and does this when he’s not at school or in his activities. However, he’s suffering from low self-esteem and even low-key depression because of his father. When his father finds out about his low grades and that he didn’t make the football team, he’s furious and dismisses him as a failure and a worthless son. Feeling rather down about that, Snotlout decides to start another article/video. When he discovers a recent comment from what seems like a long-time subscriber, his spirits begin to lift. What’s more is that they, the subscriber, wishes to meet him in person at the park. While wary at first, Snotlout figures that he ought to thank them in person and agrees. When he goes to the park, he runs into his subscriber — a girl named Minden — and his life changes forever.

Hi again! Weird question, but if you could rewrite HTTYD: THW, what would you change?

Ohhh that's a really good question. This answer might get a little long, sorry about that <3

There was a lot that bugged me with this movie. To keep this a little simpler, I'm not going to include the characters from the shows because they seem to be trying to keep those separate so that people who only watch the movies don't feel lost, but you can imagine that all of the characters from the shows (particularly characters like Heather and Dagur would be featured prominently)

Things I would do differently;

Maybe mention something offhand to explain away the lack of support from the outcasts, berserkers, defenders of the wing and wing maidens in the event that they aren't included

Hiccup wouldn't have let the village get that overcrowded. Seeing as we see him relocating dragons to different islands all the time across the course of rob, dob, and rtte, I don't think that he would have let it get this bad.

Astrid and the rest of the gang would have more of an active role in the plot. Astrid was really reduced to being Hiccup's inspiration and very little more than that this movie which bothered me. In the last two movies, though admittedly trivial, Astrid and the other riders have had something to do in the plot. (Specifically in the 2nd movie, getting caught by Drago, turning Eret to their side etc.)

Maybe they're trying to take out some of the other leaders that are working alongside Grimmel to weaken him

Snotlout would be totally different. He would retain the maturity that he had gained through the course of rtte. They don't even have to cut him having a stupid romantic subplot in this movie just keep the Ruffnut thing going and scrap the Valka/Eret love triangle thing completely.

Ruffnut wouldn't be that stupid, she would have led Grimmel somewhere else, or have known Grimmel would have been following her and sent him on a wild goose chase or something. We see her being much smarter in rtte, and even without the rtte thing I refuse to believe that after everything they've been through she's still that dumb.

I wouldn't have reduced every character down to one joke. Fishlegs' character is about more than the stupid baby, Snotlout isn't obsessed with Valka, Tuff isn't obsessed with his beard and Hicstrid's relationship etc. We've seen these characters be funny in several situations in rtte. They have the chemistry to make funnier, more diverse jokes

Instead of making the conflict that Hiccup and the gang just straight up don't know how to work together (because we've seen in both the movies and the shows that by now, they absolutely know how to work together) I would make it them trying to balance their new positions in the tribe and how they were struggling to work together in the light of the fact that they are newly all at the head of the tribe, and this a new kind of responsibility

Maybe they're all overwhelmed enough that they aren't focused so much on working as a team but on convincing Hiccup that their ideas are the right way to tackle the Grimmel situation altogether, which causes more problems in the long run until they reach the end and start doing their jobs and working together like the well-oiled machine they are

I feel like that would make the 'you guys are the best i've got' line more impactful. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that part, but that is heavily influenced by the fact that I actually like the characters and have seen them actually being friends and being competent in the shows. (and lets be honest, what movie only fans actually like the gang? The movies didn't make them feel like a group of friends or competent characters without the context of the show imo)

But seeing them competent and struggling to work together before finally coming together might make that line hit harder

Toothless would not be so willing to leave Hiccup (his best friend for SIX YEARS) for a female dragon he met six minutes ago

He would want to go to her, he might even go with her to the hidden world after Hiccup gives him the ability to fly on his own, but he would want to return.

the light fury would look cooler

Maybe Grimmel would follow Toothless to the Hidden World and start attacking it. Maybe he captures the light fury. Toothless, panicked comes back, and Hiccup and the gang have to take the fight to Grimmel at the Hidden World. Grimmel dies, but they realize that people will always find the dragons no matter what they do and that they're stronger together

For that to work ^^^ then maybe we have Hiccup beginning to think that they brought this on the dragons and maybe the right thing to do before the final fight at the Hidden World.

You know how we had a fake-out happy ending where it looked like maybe Toothless and the light fury would be able to stay before Grimmel comes? It's like that, but we think Hiccup might be preparing to say goodbye to Toothless

This is really scattered and messy, and I don't know how clear any of this is, but that's what came to mind. I really hope that answers your question! If anyone has anything to add or to say about my critiques I'd love to hear it.
