I think that until Scott or Noxcrew— actually scratch that, until all the men who participate in mcc stand up and say something about how awful the community they found treats women, nothing is really going to change, because chats and redditors don't listen to women and certainly will not listen to the three men that actually said something about it. This is the kind of issue that has to be pushed every event by everyone, nothing will change if the only thing done is a twitter thread. Because is easy to say "treat women fairly" but it's not easy recognizing the problem in yourself or your audience.

Does it make me a bad feminist if I put on make up sometimes? It only takes me 5 minutes, it doesn't make me look like a completely different person. I don't wear it every day but do like to wear it sometimes. but like otherwise I don't often look in the mirror... I don't spend a lot of time and don't need to wear it just to leave the house. Sometimes I just want my eyes to pop more, I have green eyes and I can look a little red when I first wake up.
I am trying to shave less. I have been met with scrutiny. I basically just challenge myself to only do it like a couple times a month
basically with make up and shaving i compromise with not doing it every day and letting my legs get hairy sometimes. It is my comfort level at this point.
It just feels so familiar.
I'm going to answer with my own personal opinion here because I can't judge who is and who isn't a good feminist.
I think that you finding a compromise is a good thing: you're analysing why you shave/wear make up and are trying to challenge yourself, and that is a nice starting point. Speaking from experience, I also stopped shaving a bit gradually a few years ago, and as it gets easier, you will gain the confidence to stop.
And if I can dare giving you an advice: at the end of the day, these kind of things don't imply you're a bad feminist. In my opinion, what matters more is if you're trying not to leave feminism just an neverending online discours: do you talk about it with people in your life? do you try to meet other feminists? do you aspire to, or already do activism? Because at the end of the day, I think that's what matters

I'm sorry but it is scary how much of social media is just "this person practiced open communication with me about why they feel a certain way and i disagree with that assesment and I think my inability/refusal to navigate that disagreement with them puts me in the morally superior position". Like the fucking posts that get popular about relationships and the way it comes in this faux-femimist packaging that does so much to undermine any succesful response to the legitimate greviances that motivate it

“Maybe its cringe but sometimes i tell myself "if queen elizabeth [the 1st] could do that, i can do this". She was just very fierce and #didthat and literally a legendary girlboss up there with legendary figures like Augustus and Napoleon. Like i know "girlboss" is a joke now but she really exemplfies girl power in a male world, at least in an individualism way (if not a femimist way).” - Submitted by Anonymous

realistic headcanons about slytherin students :
a reminder that this is just my opinion, and by slytherin, i mean actual slytherin students in the series
most slytherins are very well mannered, as in good table manners and such
they throw parties for everything. whether they win or lose a quidditch match, there will always be a party afterwards. and these parties are usually sponsored by alumni.
they have a tradition at the end of the year where those about to graduate (7th years) will choose a first year to give all their old studying materials to.
they send (/owl) flowers or chocolates to one another as "casual gifts", example : when a friend had just received the highest mark on a quiz, or when they get accepted to a club, win a quidditch match, et cetera.
they flex to one another using connections, like getting a certain alumni to sponsor a party, studying using old materials from one of the smartest alumni and such.
the female slytherins have a secret femimist club that they disguise as a romance book club lol.
there are unspoken designated seats for each friend group in the common room. you can only sit in another friend group's area if they've invited you.

Its interesting to see that two popular women on tiktok made videos about the misogyny problem in china and malaysia being "so bad" that when you walk around in the streets "you hardly see any women there". china i don't live in but visited just in april. there were plenty of women on the streets in my home village and all the other places i visited, highly doubt the cpc has since then mandated double-boiled ginseng chicken soup for husbands 3 times a day so women no longer have any time to leave the house. in the comments were people going 'huh i was there but didn't notice something like this. thanks for pointing it out though'. and then the usual slew of females eager to disprove that women are retarded gullible children by going 'oh nooooo pleadingeyesemoji you're so brave for saying something'. like.
With malaysia i can say even more confidently that it's bogus because... i live here. there are women in the streets outside my farm. there are women in the streets in bukit bintang. in damansara utama, kepong etc. like what is this stupid bitch talking about lmaoooo
There's such a surge in socmed content by Pretend Outraged Femimist and Gay Ally targeting countries the US has either declared an enemy or a target for pressure. and then of course our numerous reactionaries grow even more bigoted in the process. so for all your social justice warrioring, we pay the highest price. you get to sit there and feel like a good person, having done absolutely nothing of good at all.

-Mabu
