I know I’m a month late but I just watched over 20 shows for the upcoming fall winter 2021/22 season (i don’t care for summer style so I usually skip over it) and these were my favorite shows
On the others ones i remember off the top of my head:
Versace is still a shit show (wtf is that new logo?). I was surprised by Chanel it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was gonna be and I found myself liking some pieces. Dior was much better though I could barely see the clothes throughout the video (it was lovely I love the creativity), and I loved a lot of pieces. Fendi was boring and 90% basic in my opinion. Loved Max Mara. Carolina Herrera disappointed. I have come to a conclusion that I will never be a Louis Vuitton girl, not even their bags or accessories are cute to me (love Nicolas Ghesquiere but... Though i’ve always wanted a classic trunk). The Gucci hack on Balenciaga for the anniversary was just wow, im not saying it was amazing in terms of good clothing (there was some nice pieces) but to see the silhouettes and logos and etc. mixed was wow (the logomania girls are gonna take it and run with it i think). Prada was good. Chloe was stunning.
I still have to watch Anna Sui, Celine, Saint Laurent, Hermes, MM6 Maison Margiela, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Acne Studios.
(TRIGGER WARNING: Eating Disorders) There’s a brand I forgot what it’s called but it went all the way with the y2k aesthetic (early 2000s like mean girls and Paris Hilton) and it was good for what it was going for (i even liked a few pieces) but the way only certain body types are catered too I fear the girls are gonna take a nasty turn.
I still need more plus size or curve or whatever people want to call it. Im glad Precious Lee was there (in Versace) and Jill (in Chanel) but it’s no where near enough idc. Give us high fashion we can rock it just as good as the others, and our industry ain’t no joke we can make yall money just stop giving us Torrid for the love of god.
So the main takeaway: Donatella needs to step it up (like seriously it’s getting tiring) or...
