There's an Eclipse Tomorrow
Born of the fen dweller
Like twin stars in the night sky
Comets constantly trailing at rapid pace
The burn of air in your lungs a blessing
The gnashing of your teeth a gift
Your hunger a curse
Will you meet your fate if chosen?
Will your strength give out before then?
You who are destined to free the father
Devour the silvery orb and let it’s rays drip like mercury
Down your throat
Let it’s eclipse be found in your fangs
You who are destined to free the father
Devour the golden orb and let it’s rays melt like fire
Through your fangs
Let it’s eclipse be found in your throat
Night and day they run
Endlessly trailing
Eternally hungry
Until that final dreadful day
Where they take a bite
And
Devour

I really wish I would bookmark good texts.
There was this essay about the significance of wolves in the old Norse/Germanic societies.
Basically, no, wolves were NOT evil, not at all. Instead the represented a great might and power. Which is why wolves make day and night by chasing the sun. Which is why it paints Odin as very mighty since he even controls not one but Two great wolves.
Which makes Fenrir basically the newest mightiest nuclear bomb that could ever exist.
In fact Odin saw his potential of destruction and became aware that Odin would never be able to control him, so he was bound.
Meanwhile Týr befriends the pup.
I mean, Týr. Týr who once may have been the head of the pantheon before Odin took over. Týr, a tall and handsome fella, sidelined, but never forgotten. Týr, who sacrificed his hand, so that Fenrir could be bound.

To remind me
May Sigyn give me the loyalty I need for those I care about, even in their darkest times.
May Angrboda give me the strength I need to destroy those who stand against me.
May Fenrir give me the strength I need to break the chains that bind me.
May Jormungandr teach me that life and death are a cycle, and what ends must begin again.
May Slepnir give me the ability to travel in places both physical and spiritual; the realms have openings that can be travelled.
May Vali and Narfi teach me the importance of blood. That family can be both a blessing and a curse, and none are above madness.
May Hel teach me that the dead are not as far as one may think, with a calm heart the ancestors are never too far.
May Loki teach me to embrace myself for myself. For my ongoing fluidity and change as I become something more. May he take me by the hand and guide me into the fire. Only then may I be able to dance in the flames.

To The Devourer, A Depth
Hail to you of blackened fur
Marsh dwelling chained one
How you hold the wisdom of the universe in your maw
An endless ravening hunger to devour
And discover
How is your hunger any different from your captor
The one who hunts for knowledge beyond knowledge
Do his chains hold you down
Or chain down the reflection of himself that he fears
Is it his fault or yours where the coin falls
What fate the Norns have woven for the world
Should you be punished for how the strings intertwined
Or for a man’s simple fear
The ravenous frothing maw that created the river Ván
Let it drown those who come near you
Who would cause you more home
But let those who love you swim in it
Dive deep into your essence
Become one with you
Be devoured by you
And learn the secrets you hide
By diving deep into your core
Let us feel your betrayal at your bindings
And have us try to loosen them
As much as we can to let you feel the grass and sun
To let you run once again
With freedom in your fur
Let us howl your name in the forests
Cry in Mani’s rays
Dance in Sunna’s light
And bring you closer to us
Bring us closer to your depths
Let us feel the warmth inside you
Let us understand

To the Great Wolf
Hail to you Fame-Wolf,
He who was betrayed,
May we remember your faith
In those that betrayed you.
May we honor you
Wolf-Son of Loki,
Brother of Hel,
Father to the sun and moon chasers.
May we break our own bindings
The way you will break your own
When Ragnarok comes,
And may our rage match your own
When we face those
Who betray and bind us.
Hail to you, Fenrir!

Things I offer to The Wolf
-I offer him moments where I go beyond the chains that binds me
-I offer him compassion when I find those chains to be too heavy to hold
-I offer him kindness in every stray dog I meet when I offer them safety and a meal before finding them a home
-I offer him my rage at the injustices I find in the world, my fight against them
-I offer him the taste of the first piece of meat, it may not satisfy his hunger but I hope it still feeds him
-I offer him my pain when I find myself crawling through life’s most excruciating moments, hoping for solace in a kindred soul
-I offer him my trust, my hand in his mouth that he will not bite it for he is not a monster but a keeper of his oath
-I offer him my honesty, he will know lies as soon as I tell them, so why hide myself from his eternal hunger
-I offer him my companionship, the eyes of an outsider looking in
-I offer him my emptiness, my head being silent as he speaks in his growls as they fill me with his wisdom
-I offer him my fullness, the breadth of my knowledge and will for him to test in ways he sees fit, so long as it is a lesson to learn
And finally
-I offer him my heart, in trust and faith beyond compassion. I accept his rage and pain, his wisdom and knowing, his emptiness and fullness, all as him. I accept not only the eye of the storm, but the storm he is in its entirety. He is no simple mindless monster.

The Wolves’ Cycle
Sun Chaser, Mocking One
In exhausted sprint he chases the golden orb ahead of him
Nipping and growling
A game
A race
A battle
The pounding of his feet
The pounding of his heart
Will today be the day he catches Her
His forbidden prize
To devour that which she holds holy
The cycle continues endlessly
Day after day
Night after night
Day after day
The cycle continues endlessly
To devour that which he holds holy
His forbidden prize
Will today be the day he catches Him
The pounding of his heart
The pounding of his feet
A battle
A race
A game
Nipping and growling
In exhausted sprint he chases the silver orb ahead of him
Moon Chaser, Son of Hatred
