Valkyrie Set for Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021
Following the cancellation of last year’s show, Aston Martin are looking forward to exciting the crowds this week at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021, with an array of showstopping activities. With a long-standing history at Goodwood, the British manufacturer is pulling out all the stops to ensure fans and customers alike are excited and thrilled at what is set to be one of the biggest public events in the UK since early 2020.
The highly anticipated Aston Martin Valkyrie is due to make its Goodwood Festival of Speed debut at the show. The crowd will be delighted to see – and hear – Valkyrie take on the famous Hillclimb past Goodwood House in the ‘Supercar’ batch. Accelerating from 0-60mph in under 2.5 seconds and powered by an almighty, naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 1160bhp, Valkyrie – which will be driven by Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team driver Lance Stroll on Saturday – is surely set to be the star of the show.
Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th July 2021 and is broadcast on ITV and Sky over the weekend.

McLaren 720S GT3X Victorious at Goodwood FoS
McLaren Automotive concluded a successful weekend at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed with a sensational victory for the 720S GT3X in the Timed Shootout Final.
As crowds returned to the summer event in the grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex, UK, the all-new McLaren Artura made its public dynamic debut on the famous Goodwood Hill. It was joined by a GT, a 765LT and a 620R – the latter two with Bruno Senna at the wheel - and an Elva, which was driven in typically exuberant style by McLaren Chief Test Driver, Kenny Bräck.
The most spectacular performance of the event was however reserved for McLaren Factory Driver Rob Bell in the 720S GT3X. Competing in the Timed Shootout Final, Rob deployed the car’s extreme performance with supreme precision as he stormed to the top of the leaderboard with a time of just 45.01 seconds, more than a second clear of his nearest rival.
“Winning the Timed Shootout Final was the perfect end to an excellent 2021 Festival of Speed for McLaren. Rob Bell drove magnificently, showcasing the outstanding capabilities of the 720S GT3X to great effect in mastering the challenging Goodwood Hill. And with so many of our cars on display and in action – including the all-new Artura making its public dynamic debut and the remarkable Elva – this was a wonderful opportunity to meet customers and fans face-to-face once again and celebrate all things McLaren.” Mike Flewitt, CEO, McLaren Automotive
Designed and developed in-house by the motorsport arm of McLaren Automotive, McLaren Customer Racing, the 720S GT3X is for track use only. Weighing just 1,210kg and powered by a hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine producing 720PS – with an extra 30PS available via a ‘push-to-pass’ system – it is not restricted by racing regulations and has a power-to-weight ratio of 620PS-per-tonne.

Formula 1 at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Goodwood has announced that five current Formula 1 teams are already confirmed to attend the Festival of Speed on 8-11 July. Formula 1 teams first visited the Festival in 1994, when the event was in its infancy, with Williams, McLaren and Arrows joining the celebrations and taking to the Hill that year. It remains the only event outside the World Championship calendar regularly attended by all the top teams.
Joining motorsport’s ultimate summer garden party this year, one week before the British Grand Prix, will be the McLaren F1 Team, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, Red Bull Racing Honda, Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow, and Williams Racing.
With the F1 season now underway, the Festival of Speed provides the best, and one of the only, opportunities to see the cars and drivers up close this year outside of a Grand Prix weekend. Visitors to the Festival can enjoy unrivalled access, as the teams’ engineers prepare the cars to take on the iconic hillclimb, the engines roar into life, and the drivers get behind the wheel.
Over the years, the Festival’s F1 Pit Lane presented by Sky Sports has been graced by the greatest cars in the sport’s history, driven by World Champions past, present and future, and 2021 will be no exception.
Further announcements about the Festival of Speed, including details of attending Formula 1 drivers, will be made in the coming weeks.
