If The Ministry had a gift shop, I fully believe they'd sell snow globes!
Anyway, I wish you all a happy and safe festive season 🖤
Thank you for all the support for my artwork this year! Art is my happy place, and I'm so glad that other people seem to like it too!

Tis the seaon and all...so I've written a very short piece regarding the festive period and Javier's reflections of home.
It was colder than it had been in years for December, at least in the Heartlands. Javier stood close to the edge of the ridge, looking out at the valley as he often did during down time.
He could sit admiring the view for hours just happily smoking, drinking, strumming guitar, doing nothing and occasionally falling asleep against a tree. This was a happy place for him, and the others in the camp knew not disturb him when he was in a reflective mood, apart from Micah, Micah liked to tease, but Javier was good at ignoring him, he'd learnt the importance of choosing your battles.
His breath hung in the air, he watched it and pulled his poncho tighter round his shoulders. He would move in a minute, he would get his coat...He lit a cigarette, the tip illuminated with fiery heat sent a shiver down his spine as he thought of home, of warm Navidad celebrations back in Mexico. His younger siblings taking part in the Posadas and eating his mother's homemade buñuelos. He sighed at the thought and longed for home for the first time in ages. It always caught him off guard this time of year.
"You okay Javier?" Mary Beth asked as she tentatively approached him.
He seemed dazed, not that this was out of character for him, just he'd been away from the others for longer than usual. And when Dutch had called for them all to gather round the fire, he hadn't responded.
Javier, slightly startled, shook himself off trying to appear calm and as if he hadn't jumped at her words. Mary-Beth had seen, she had an inkling where his mind was and so she spoke softly as she reached out a hand for him. He took it wordlessly and got up onto his feet.
"Oh Javier, come now, Dutch is ready and there's plenty to be thankful for."
Javier nodded, "And plenty of booze?" He replied with a smile.
Mary-Beth didn't need to answer, still holding her hand, the two of them walked over to the main camp fire. Maybe not next year, but one year, he would go home for día de Navidad.
