If no problem, why expose them to ruthless killers? Did your mate put your brain through the mincer or why is your logic so off?
She thinks one thing and then does the complete opposite, what is this?

Not to get back into this fandom drama but like. I’m seeing so many trash takes I cannnot.
Being abused doesn’t give u the right to abuse others or diminish / mock their trauma! Shitty mental health doesn’t give u the right to hurt others!
This applies to everyone. thanks.

Right, so, I'm an acotar hater with all my heart 😍 and don't care for the other sjm books in the least. In fact, it came as no surprise at all that she's a zionist, considering that her beloved ruler not only hoards copious amounts of wealth while his people is segregated, most of them living in poverty, and the marginalized /brown folks being portrayed as inferior, backward brutes and arseholes unworthy of their precious city and time.Did I mention that over half of his people hates him? Fantastic leader 😍👏🏻☺️🥰😘
Anyway I found out recently that there's a crossover between the series, got the context about what nesta did and went to read the extra chapter online to see bat lord's hissy fit first-hand.
Bryce's mom is low key shitty btw, my own mom is far from perfect, but even if she did want to obliterate me, she would never stand by and let some random fucker say that, let alone bad mouth me to said random fucker. Its odd that she seems to stand up more for a boy that she has known for weeks and a woman she just met than her own kid, also I would file for fucking divorce on the spot if my husband had decided to be complicit on a sexist joke about me and our daughter with aforementioned fucker, but I digress
What I did like about her tho was how she handed lavender eyes' ass to him.Someone has to since apparently feyre has been lobotomized and those cult members of the ic murdered Nesta's fighting spirit
And tbh I feel so bad for her, she seems so subdued for nesta's standarts. I wanted to reach for her hand and tell her that 1 if her husband loves counterfeit Batman so much he can go gag on his cock all day, she'll find something better in no time and 2 she'll do it sooner rather than later bc her sister and her are coming with me.If feyrug wants to bring the devilspawn along its fine too
The thing is the average acotar fan is pretty much Sjms trained dog. They'll go along with everything the narrative says, no reading comprehension skills whatsoever. But apparently all characters from CC who have met Rice bowl dislike him and like Nesta, so I am now wondering if she's not planning to reveal later on that Batfae was the villain all along and completely fried Feyre's brain.Again, I don't expect much from a zionist, but its undeniable that it doesn't add up, to the point that I'm wondering if it's the sake person writing the books.I would like someone who actually read the Cc books I would rather lick a McDonald's slider than subject myself to that togive their opinions

The more I read about Feyrug's bs, the more I wonder how fucking deeply in love Tamlin had to be to excuse that much bs and still save her and then her mate who he hated just so she can be happy. I can't even.

I saw your post about the ACOTAR subreddit and saw the bit of of how Tamlin’s people actually liked him. I agree completely with it all but adding onto that bit, Feyrug had implant FALSE memories into his peoples minds to get them to rebel because she knew he was good to his people. So she had to make him more the bad guy.
So true! I’d probably have remembered that too if I was able to make myself read it again. I crapped out at ACOMAF last time I tried, and barely made it through with my sight intact for all the eye-rolling, so I decided to play it safe and stop there.
It’s crazy though how little effort SJM had to put into making Tamlin look terrible and still have her stans eat it up like I eat chewy sweet tarts (I.e FAST). If she had actually tried to make it all make sense, I probably wouldn’t be as pissed off as I am, but it’s the fact that she’s so dilligaf about that really makes me want to scream.

I had a wild thought, what if Feyrug used her powers of mind control to make Tamlin snap? Like he “abused her” like what if it was her doing that to him because he wouldn’t let her fight and didn’t make her HL? I mean she was already seeing Rhys, and knew he was super rich and “listened to her”. So she did this all so she could go for the richer man???
Hi anon!!
Ooohh u mean like in Acowar right??
That's a fairly interesting theory. She didn't shy away from using her powers on his sentries to plant memories. But she didn't need tp resort to the mind control cause Tamlin is in a very vulnerable state, he's volatile he's traumatized and she emotionally manipulates him, she pushes him, she brings up his trauma his worst fears and uses them against him and like why does no one talk about the emotional torture and turmoil that must be going thru his head when she does that? Ppl never shut up about when he locked her and what she was feeling "he triggered her" but what about Feyre doing the EXACT SAME THING.
plus Tamlin does it ignorantly which again doesn't make it right he remains wilfully ignorant and only cares about her safety so his intentions weren't rooted into causing harm, but Feyre's was!! Why does no one talk about that??? That's infinitely worse. Plus she feels smug about it later?? It's giving soap opera evil mistress who will manipulate everyone arnd with fake tears and then smirk while the camera zooms in on her

I've recently reread A//COTA//R (agshdhd idk how to censor it) and there's a scene around the time they prepare to go Under the Mountain, where Feyrug describes human servants as "unfinished, graceless creatures of earth and blood". Putting aside the fact that hate for humans is so normalized in Mess's writing that even humans perpetrate it (despite the fact that Feyrug is supposed to despise faeries), Mess is so in love with her own writing that she titled the first book in a new series using words she wrote years before??
I've seen readers (even fans!) ironically say that she plagiarizes herself a lot when it comes to plot points, characters, settings, down to straight up sentence repetitions in different books, to the point they call her writing formulaic.
Then there's the real plagiarism of Tolkien, Treasure Planet, The Black Jewels (men with tan skin, black hair and bat wings + a priestess literally named Prythian, etc.) and a bunch of other stuff.
But for whatever reason this bit was just so funny to me 😂 how full of yourself you gotta be to plagiarize yourself? 😂😂
to be fair, the use of earth and blood could be sjm's idea of hinting at the crossover that's appeared in the CCity series (since Bryce ends up in Prythian at the end of hosab), but yeah, she's very well-known for reusing phrases, descriptions, scenes, etc in her books. idk why fans think it makes her a good author. like personally, i do my utmost to not reuse phrases and ensure every single character i write looks different bc talk about fucking boring if i didn't. idk, sjm has a formula that works, so in her mind there's no reason to change it

I think my problem with Sarah's writing is how hypocritical it is. The Tool definitely has red flags in ACOTAR, but he's like the LEAST problematic of all Sarah's male love interests save Chaol. At least he doesn't punch Feyrug in the face (looking at you, Rowboat) or betray her (like H/unt) or spend months drugging and groping her (like Riceman). It's a low bar, but The Tool clears it. But if Sarah can see that he's still toxic, why can't she tell any of her other WORSE love interests are?
Protagonist centered morality.
Though I am on record as thinking the punch to the face was excusable (though by no means romantic) since it was in response to Celaena saying his people deserved genocide.
Also Chaol got exponentially more toxic when Sarah Janet decided he should be an endgame love interest for SOMEBODY, which says some questionable things about the entire process.
But also, Yrene was a dick to chaol. We have LAYERS here! NO ONE IS FREE FROM SIN.
(This is a lie, Lysandra, Evangeline, Sorscha, and Elide are free from sin. Also Lehaba, for obvious reasons)
(Manon was almost free from sin, we were so close)

See a more or less short rendition of my experiences when I first read the acotar series (Three years ago?) beneath the cut. I purposefully misspelled some names, I don't feel like getting death threats from obsessive stans tonight. Bisou x
The funniest thing for me is that I started reading acotar spoiled and biased. I got the recommendation from TikTok, and everyone there was raving about Fey/sand and hating on Tamlin. So naturally, I started acotar being prepared to hate Tamlin and yearningly wait for Rice sand to make an appearance.
How the tables turned with that.
First of all, I was whipped for Lucien the moment he first appeared. (I have also been in the Eris corner ever since...2021? Or so, when there was literally one piece of writing for him and that was some headcanons. Anyway.)
Secondly, I folded for Tamlin too, against my expectations when hearing people say he was a nasty abuser and Rice sand is the feminist king. Like, I was prepared for Tamlin to be the biggest prick, and then he came along with lines like "I play a mean fiddle" or "I love you, thorns and all" and writing Limericks to help Feyrug learn to read, and he was fumbling so bad, it was just absolutely cute.
And when Rice sand made his first appearance, I was underwhelmed. At that point, I had only heard people sing praise about him and how perfect he is, and he was just the prick I expected Tamlin to be.
Utm was disgusting, and fundamented my dislike for Rice sand because he was giving Sex offender in the worst way possible.
Acomaf came along and I was kinda happy to have things "back to normal". And then everything went to shit, Tamlin was completely disregarded and vilified, as was Lucien. And Feyrug began sucking Rice sands dick. I was so disappointed, and I clung to any crumb of Lucien and Tamlin I could get, especially after the Summer Court debacle and the CoN whore thing, because that was just disgusting.
Acowar sold my soul to Eris, to the point of no return. I was an Eris girl before that, but after? Altered my brain chemistry. There's hardly anything he can do at this point to make me not like him. It also festered my hate for the Ic even more, and I began to really despise Feyrug too. I wanted to burn the book when Rice sand was resurrected, because I had hoped that he'd just stay dead atp.
Acofas was a train wreck and the only good things about it were the one appearance Eris and Lucien had each. The rest was either cringey or anger inducing, or both combined. My villain origin story.
Acosf... I hate how she treated Nesta. My girl deserves better fr. I despised Cassian's povs, except for the ones where Eris was present. (Duh) Once again, only a few good things about this book. Those being Eris, Lucien and the Valkyries. The pregnancy plotline sucks ass, and if I see one more Rice sand lover saying Eris is misogynistic for saying Morningan dresses like a slut while defending Rice sand for the shit he pulled with the pregnancy because "he just wanted to protect Feyrug" and still calling him feminist, I'm going to have an aneurism.
I went into this series biased. I literally hadn't even opened the first book and already thought Tamlin sucks and Rice sand is the greatest salvation. It was deeply ingrained in my mind before I even read the series. And even then, I came out hating Rice sand and his AA circle of life and loving everyone the popular narrative told me to hate. So no, I'm not delusional for liking the characters I do. People who blindly stan the Ic just lack reading comprehension or the will to think about what they are reading for more than five seconds because there's nothing more they want to know than the length of bad imitation Batman's cock.

Generally speaking, I’m pretty chill with the other ships. Not my cup of tea, so I don’t actually seek art and theories out centring them.
I do however, always find it rather interesting, (and off putting) to note, just how many people seem to ship Elucien or Gwynriel..because they simply hate Elain. By all means, ship who you please, but surely you can at least acknowledge that’s a large contributing factor as to why you ship who you do?
The amount of comments across social media, on any Acotar group and platform is outstanding. So many people just hate her. I don’t get it. “Lucien deserves better, but I want him to be happy, so that’s I ship Elucien” or “I just hate elain and hope she turns evil and dies alone” and of course “three brothers x three sisters is sooooo cliche and boring. Elains useless. Gwynriel forever!”. I don’t understand how a ship can “have your whole heart” when you objectively hate one half of that ship? It’s just..odd.
I think one of the main contributing factors to the Elain hate, is the rise of Gwyn - and the fandoms general inability to uphold one female character without squashing another (to be perfectly honest.) What are your thoughts on why there’s so much hate directed toward Elain? What do you think contributes to it? Do you find any of it valid?
I think that this fandom is interesting in that some characters are legitimately HATED, even though they aren't meant to be hated.
There are huge, HUGE Rhysand antis out there. With virulent, violent hate in their hearts towards him.
Same with Feyre. You'd think Feyre would be a pretty benign character, who would be universally accepted as at least an acceptable character--but no, HATED. Hated for things she has nothing to do with. Called Feyrug. Called dumb, and illiterate. Hated for 'cultural appropriation'. And just really wild BS.
Elain has been hated since day one. Because she is not 'tough enough', whatever that means. I think that she is hated for two reasons--mostly connected to 2 men. She is 'mean' and doesn't give poor Lucien a chance. And she doesn't 'deserve' Azriel. I think if she was paired with someone else, maybe, MAYBE the hate wouldn't be as strong. But she is paired with two of the most popular male characters and she simply can't be forgiven for that.
So the antis will throw everything at her over that--she is dumb, she is infantile, she is not assertive, she didn't grow vegetables, she is selfish, she is a cry-baby, she is a bitch who slut-shamed Nesta (when?), she leeches off Feysand, she abandoned poor Nesta (when?), she is passive, she doesn't step up and blah, blah, blah.
Elain is a quiet, thoughtful characters, with hidden powers and a hidden strength. It becomes apparent when things get tough.
The problem, overall, is that SJM was never able to do justice to both Nesta and Elain. They remained somewhat underdeveloped characters and even though she's had plenty of opportunities, she keeps getting sidetracked and writes 100 pages of work out routines, instead of dedicated 50 of those pages to the sisters and their backgrounds and relationships.
But yeah, I don't think anything will change. Elain will remain hated. Maybe her book will eventually change some minds and hearts.

Get out of the Feysand tags we don’t care for the little house of wind stans toxic takes in the least go talk about Nesta and her Valkyries or Nessian. Talking about tHeY lOckEd hEr uP, we do not care sis we was all tried of her negative ass
not the ricecake stans finding my account, i thought i’d finally blocked everyone and achieved peace 🥹
talking about how your faves literally pulled a tamlin and locked nesta up is still talking about nesta bestie and it’s not a toxic take considering it’s literally what happened in the first few chapters of the book but anyways
and how about you kindly fuck off and stop being a literal loser that leaves anonymous messages crying that they don’t like to see hate for their faves. and then i’d suggest you block me because i will not stop ranting about how hypocritical feyrug and riceman are anywhere in the near future and how funny it was seeing them turn into tamlin who they have not stopped shit talking for about three books now 🫶

Why was the pact between Feyrug and Ricesand is stupid and selfish?
The pact is stupid and selfish.
If someone would want to take the throne from them it would be quite easy. Kill one of them and the other one dies. Then, exile or kill the IC and that's it. Sure, they will have to do something with Nyx, but if Ricesand dies, Feyrug dies and things will be almost simple.
It would be harder to take the throne if Feyrug lives. She would try to make sure she stays High Lady and however wants to take the throne would have a lot of troubles.
Of course, assuming Feyrug won't lose her minds after Ricesand dies. That would make things easy. Say the High Lady is crazy, spread a few rumours saying Feyrug attacked someone in her madness, that she wanted to stay with Ricesand even after he died.
But, my point is, when one of them will die, they will leave Nyx without both of his parents. And their possisions will be extremely insecure. It's really selfish. And, honestly, I feel bad for Nyx, giving the fact that he will grow up in such a toxic environment.

Do you think that imagine that Farley and Cassian? Could cough cough f**k and you know be lovers. Like no nesta but still super cute romance
Gotta come out and say that I loath SJM, and loath her books now. I loath the whole Nesta with Casian thing because it is just so... *cringes* poorly written and ugh I don't even know how to describe it. It actually pissed me off reading it. Like I think CoSF is the last book of hers that I ever force myself to read. I read it for Nesta and she got shoved in the "inner circle's" round hole as a square peg so she could be the "good guy" now and fit in with Feyrug and everyone, and I hated it. So any cross over between my comfort series and those on fire garbage cans makes my skin crawl XD.
And sadly, hate to break it to everyone, but Cassian is not that amazing. Neither is Ricecakes or whatever his name is. I'm not even sure if I like any of the guys in her books. Besides, Farley can and would punch each and every one of them in the face for half the things they say to the women in her series.

There are just so many characters in Acotar that deserve more recognition than Feyrug and Ricesand.
For example we have Miryam's, Drakon's and Jurian's story and, in my opinion, that seems far more interesting than Actoar could ever be. And less toxic.
Also, Feyrug doesn't even behave like a Lady. She has no political experience and no respect for any other High Lord or Lady.
I mean, we have LoA who, unlike Feyrug, knows how to behave. She hid her relationship with Helion for centuries from everyone. Yes, she could have hoped for a happier marriage, but...
Also, there is Viviane. I know, she is friend with Mor. But, at the High Lords meeting, when Tamlin ask if the Winter Court was wiling to fight along with Ricesand, who did nothing when children were killed, Kallias said that they came to the meeting to decide that. And Viviane stood by his side, even though she was friend with Mor. Besides, Viviane protected her people from Amarantha for fifty years and offered sanctuary to anyone who could get into the city Kallias shield (which is a lot more than what the Inner Circle did).
We also have Vassa, who is trying to get her kingdom back. And a story about her is far more interesting than Actoar.
I mean, why SJM writes only about the Inner Circle when there are so many interesting and less toxic characters?
