ffxiv friends, does anyone inhabit a nice fc which is based around casual roleplay of pretty much any description? (excepting yakuza and other crime themes, no interest in those really)

I hope that you've all been enjoying the patch and all of the content that it's brought to us to help wrap up some content given to us throughout EW. :>

Outside of that, and the real reason for this post is that the Initiative would like to invite you to a Valentione's Speed Dating event!

To preface: this event is 100% for fun and is not meant to be a proper 'let's find you a partner' type of event. It is more to foster community and help create friendships since sometimes it feels difficult finding people you click with! We hope this event can help bring people together to have fun and make new friendships!

This event is open to both roleplayers and people who don't roleplay! There will be separated categories for RPers and for non-RPers!

Looking for Contact: Maha Lucrette | Mateus

Tentatively putting some feelers out there for potential RP. I'm kinda shy and anxious in general, but I love writing Maha and I tend to get into a groove with her. I'm currently in the GMT +9 timezone, typically more active in the morning over the evening, weekday over weekend, but it varies. I prefer to RP in game over other mediums like tumblr or discord- I just like having the visuals around (and don't like giving out my discord to people I'm not familiar with.)

Some things to note:

- I am an adult and open to RPing dark/horror themes, all that is good with me. My only hard nos are extremely detailed torture/gore scenes and sexual violence. - On that note, I am not looking for anything sexual or even romantic. Flirting is NBD, but it wont go anywhere with my character. - When RPing, I try really hard to focus on my partner(s), especially if there are a lot of people around, but chances are I might miss your post anyway, so just give me a gentle nudge if I'm slow to respond. - I am not looking for a free company. However, if you've got an RP linkshell, I'd love to be a part of it (provided it fits the scope of my character!) - Adventure and exploration RPs are my favorites. Maha's not a traditional Keeper, and is somewhat well-traveled, so she is up for a good variety of things! - I am often a package deal with Lithen, so if you get Maha, you'll probably get her too (should time allow it!)

Here's some details about Maha that might help you approach her!

- Maha was born in the Shroud to a nomadic clan of Lyehga keepers. Though her clan moved around a lot, chances are they met with others in passing. They also attended yearly meets to discuss hunting grounds, news, and trade with other clans. Maha left her own clan at the ripe age of thirteen, and has not traveled with them since. But she might have met with other young keepers at the time, or even the adults. She was an odd child, fond of collecting weird, dead things from the forest that might have shocked or disturbed other kids. - Maha hopped ships to Thavnair to escape the Coeurlclaws murderous intent, following a nasty incident that took place back when she was still involved with them. She was taken in by an alchemist who had recently lost his own family, and trained in the ways of Hannish alchemy. She grew up in relative comfort in Radz-at-Han, and had most likely crossed paths with residents and visitors of the splendorous city during those days. Though she picked up a few new hobbies, she was most recognizable for her unique blends and tinctures, surviving off the knowledge gained from her days with her clan. - Ten-some odd years later, Maha finally returns to Aldenard and obtains permissions to open a small potions stall in Ul'dah's Sapphire Avenue. Her shop was usually open during later hours, from afternoon to midnight, and featured brews unique to keeper culture and tradition. She spent a couple years in Ul'dah, earning her keep before finally moving on. She was no doubt a common sight in Sapphire Avenue, as well as near the Goldsmith's, Weaver's, and Alchemist's guilds. - To this day, Maha lives in the Twelveswood, in a remote sanctuary in the forest she has made all her own. Her treehouse is warded against ne'er-do-wells with psychedelic, gaseous traps- only the worthy are given the correct directions to her home. She lives here in defiance of both the Coeurlclaws and her birth clan, proving that she can withstand the demands of the forest by her own merit. Those given proper directions to her home may find a shelter from the wilds, a den of rest and relaxation, as well as a store of curios and potions to strengthen the mind and body. - However, Maha is not limited solely to her corner of the wood. She travels every now and again, and can be sighted all over Eorzea, mainly visiting cities for local fare, attending parties thrown to the public, and vacationing with her wife, Lithen. Her hobbies vary wildly- she even did a brief stint as a performer for a couple of venues, before she decided she wanted to do something else with her time. She also really loves the Gold Saucer. There are a number of possibilities in which one could have encountered Maha in the wild.

It probably goes without saying that this post is subject to change pending character development, or if I remembered something I've forgotten, or w/e. If ever you're not sure about some detail about Maha, feel free to ask! I know we're all anxious creatures that just want to write stories with each other, and I am no different. LFRP - Faye Covington - Crystal DC

Hello! I am a long time FFXIV RPer looking for more RP for my main, Faye Covington (though I have a slew of alts we can have some fun with, as well), a noblewoman and mage hailing from the Twelveswood where she runs a teahouse which doubles as a front for an information brokering business. Ideally, I’d like to delve into the more exciting things–drama, mystery, intrigue, tension, conflict, combat, adventure, horror, DMed events, dark and mature stuff, storydriven RP and the like! In Game RP - I enjoy Discord RP sometimes, but I’d like to do some RP in game and establish a rapport for our characters there first! Long Term RP - I would like to RP with people who actively play the game and can create an ongoing story where we RP together every so often rather than one-and-done scenes. Para RP - My post length ranges from semi-para to multi-para usually. I would love to RP with folks who enjoy writing so I can flex my muscles a little! Lore Friendliness - I do enjoy FFXIV’s setting and how respecting it makes for a more cohesive story. So I don’t like breaking or disregarding the lore! But I do like to suspend disbelief a little and explore the bounds of what’s possible in this fantasy setting and have fun with things. If some lore bending or “unusual” characters aren’t your thing, please know all my characters have their oddities.

Interest Check in a Crystal DC based FFXIV RP/Community Discord?

In my hunger for interaction and wanting to get back into RP in FFXIV, I've come up short on a true 'RP/community finder' style Discord community, for FCs, other groups in and out of game, 1x1 RP, open world RP, and so on. Maybe even would have a section for GPosers to open commissions in if there's demand for it outside of the existing GPose communities. Would be 18+ because there'll be dedicated opt-in channels for NSFW/adult RP and communities because they deserve a place to call home too!

Anyway, I'm doing an 'official' interest check now. If anyone wants to help run it, or wants to give me a hand in orchestrating what is probably a big task, hit me up!

If you're even vaguely interested, a reblog and a like would go a LONG way to helping me out!

(Side note: I have a neglected FFXIV RP sideblog at landshorizon, I'm revamping it right now with new OCs and hoping to launch this just after the revamp! For now I'm posting on my main/multifandom just cause it's easier to keep track of for me.)

The Umbral Udon is a far Eastern dinning hall and Noodle Bar hosted by Siyoh Mari with the intention of introducing foreigners to Eastern cuisine while still appealing to and serving the Doman populace.

I am considering hosting small dining events at the Umbral Udon sporadically and I was curious to see how much interest and what people might prefer out of this sort of venue before attempting to structure any sort of legitimate event.

If you're interested, please take a moment to vote for what appeals to you most.

That being said, I would like to state this venue is open at all hours for anyone to come and roleplay in regardless of an event being on or not. While it may not be consistently staffed, there are plenty of Namazu NPCs who are happy to attend to all of your dining needs when Siyoh is away.

The main room of the Udon is set up in the same fashion as a Street Food stall where you can simply come slurp down some noodles at the main bar!

While I do humbly ask the additional chambers in the FC are respected as private or VIP access roleplay wise, you are welcome to visit out of character and get a feel for what VIP treatment may entail for private dining!

Perpetually trapped between a sense of idleness and reckless, impulsive abandon, Evander never met a bad idea he didn’t want to take out to dinner. He’s done his level best to leave a dark past behind, but he can’t help it if the air feels cooler and the light a little brighter when you’re standing in the shade. It used to be that every day broke with him begging the question “Just how bored do I wanna be?” Now, he can’t seem to catch a godsdamn break. That’s okay though, theft adventure keeps the ennui at bay.

Build: Evander has a swimmer’s physique: Long, lean, broad-shouldered and tapering to a narrow waist. Given his lifestyle, he might have trouble maintaining that as he gets older, but for now he’s gifted with a metabolism that lets him get away with precious little intentional maintenance.

Common Accessories: Far too many flasks; ignition keys and controls for various vehicles and small automata; his drone, Valencia; his dumb hat; a gold pendant in the shape of a swan, its neck crooked long; lockpicks; a multitool or three.

PERSONAL –––

Profession: Evander will admit to being a courier, a searcher, a seeker, a finder or something along those lines. If you need something, he can track it down and get it from one place to another. He doesn’t think of himself as much of a fighter, but he’s growing more comfortable with bodyguard work. He’s also a picklock, a safecracker and a burglar, though he’s not as quick to advertise all that.

Hobbies: He loves being around people, and he loves indulging. As far as he’s concerned, drinking and eating count as hobbies. Left to his own devices, he’s a tinker, an avid reader (particularly of romance novels, particularly the works of Quill Quivers [@worldofquillquivers] and Summer Bellmayne [@thefreelanceangel]), and often fond of especially stupid wagers, though straightforward gambling doesn't interest him as much.

Languages: He’s only fluent in Eorzean Common but he knows a smattering of Old Elezen and loves picking up bits and pieces of whatever he can along the way.

Residence: His Goblet apartment is under near-constant renovation. He’s got a room he rents from his Free Company, but it’s barely furnished aside from an astonishing array of liquor bottles, shipping crates and a huge canopy bed.

Patron Deity: He’s always personally felt a call toward Nymeia and Byregot, but feels its his duty to venerate Oschon, for some reason. He doesn’t much like to talk about it.

Contemptible Youth: Evander grew up amongst a gang of orphans in Limsa Lominsa. Were you a fellow Limsan wharf rat? Were you a criminal? Did you just spend a lot of time in the wrong parts of town? It’s been a while, but you might recognize him.

Easy Mark: Evander often finds it easier to fly under the radar and avoid notice. To this end, he often tries to exude an air of hapless gullibility. Feel free to try and rope him into some con or scheme!

Yeah, Okay: These are Evander’s words to live by. It’s not that he can’t say no, so much as he’s learned that “yes” is usually the more interesting answer. Catch him in the right mood, and he’s likely to go along with almost any hare-brained plan.

Old Habits Die Hard: A part of him yearns to live a good, decent, upright life. The problem is that part of him gets bored very quickly. Lately, he’s found himself increasingly likely to drawn to less-than-legal endeavors to keep himself occupied.

People Person: Whether it’s meeting someone new, getting to know an old friend better, or even making a new rival, frenemy or worse, he just loves people at the end of the day. Don’t be shy. You don’t need an excuse. Just come say hi!
