Confession: Some quality bdsm would've made both Zenos and Yotsuyu into fully functional people, main difference is that he needs to be a sub and she needs to be a dom

Judge Jury Executioner
I wont be finishing this beyond this point, just wanted to attempt to express my own anger and frustration with the misery in their story.

despite everything i standby the fact that yotsuyu is the best character of stormblood because she's pretty and also has an interesting character arc post stormblood but she's also pretty

Character bingo: Charibert, Yotsuyu. (Have fun~ :3)
I had tried to do one for canon Charibert before I had to accept that canon gives us so little to go off of, it would literally be the free space and the "idk what to say about them" and "they need more screentime" just so I could even have an opinion, so.
Yotsuyu!
I'll echo sentiments given by @autumnslance in that her dialogue, much like Zenos' (imo) lends itself much better to being bounced off of someone else's energy- be it a complimentary or opposing one. Otherwise, it's an 80s/90s cartoon villain cutaway monologue that's just better animated.
Her story was executed in such a slapdash and tactless as to almost loop around to parody. Every mention of her ever since has only been salt on the wound, Gosetsu being the sole exception in almost every case. Ultimately while I was deeply sympathetic to her motive, at the end of the day it didn't make what she did justified, even if I get why she did it. "I like them enough to project my own issues onto them" really only extends to, "I grew up in an abusive family and experienced a variant of the same sort of violence that her story deals with."
I'm mentally ill about Yotsuyu in that, as my static members can no doubt attest, if I start talking about how horribly the writing handled her arc and how poorly it continues to handle most things wrt her/Doma, I might not ever stop.
