Title game!! "That's my girl"
That's My Girl
pairing: dilf!jungkook x f. reader
warnings: none?
Tumblr media
Jungkook normally didn't bring work home. He was an A-list baker in the city and he liked to keep his home life separate but things changed when his five-year-old daughter begged him to make you, her nanny, a birthday cake.
Despite your insistence that you didn't need it, Jungkook waved you off and invited you over to his home on your birthday. He had given you the day off, but you didn't have plans. Your family lived too far away and your friends had dropped off their gifts and assured you they'd see you at your birthday party on the weekend. So you were on your own until then.
Besides, you couldn't pass up a day spending time with Jungkook and his daughter, Sooyun.
It was no secret to anyone that Sooyun liked to play matchmaker. She had formed several plans with her Uncle Jimin to get you and her dad together. This was just one of those plans, and perhaps it was working.
Jungkook hums as he sets the cake on the island. Sooyun asks to be picked up and settled next to her father as you take his other side. You lean in close to see what he'll do next, and you smell his cologne which makes you nearly moan. You bite your lip and take a step back to give him some room and yourself a chance to collect yourself.
Jungkook smiles at you as he reaches for the icing he made. "Would you like me to make your cake for your party as well?"
You flounder. You had invited Jungkook to your party, not expecting him to accept, much less ask if you wanted him to bake your cake. His cakes and confections were heaven on earth. Outside of this moment, you knew you couldn't afford to even look at one of his cakes, much less have one for your party.
"Yes," you nod, clapping as Sooyun joins you.
"It'll be the best cake ever! Right, Daddy?" Sooyun asks as she watches Jungkook drizzle the chocolate over the cake. He helps Sooyun stand on the stool and hands her a piping bag once the chocolate sets.
"Of course, princess," Jungkook instructs his daughter on how to pipe little swirls on the cake, grinning proudly when she does it successfully. "That's my girl!"
Sooyun cheers as she hands the piping bag back to her father and asks you for help getting down from the stool.
His daughter takes off from the kitchen, no longer interested in the cake as she hears the theme song to her favorite show coming from the TV in the living room.
"Want to try?" Jungkook asks you as he holds up the piping bag. You nod as you approach him, gently taking the bag and smiling when your fingers brush his. He smiles as you try and make a swirl but fail.
"I'm horrible," you pout as you stare at the misshapen swirl next to his and Sooyun's.
Laughing softly, Jungkook shakes his head. His fluffy hair covers his eyes for a moment before he shakes it out of the way.
"Like this," Jungkook stands beside you, his arms going around you and his hands placed over yours as he leans forward to help you make the perfect swirl. "It's all in the wrist."
Slowly, Jungkook pulls his hands away to give you a chance to do it on your own. You're cautious as you make the attempt, breathing in slowly as you make the perfect swirl.
Jungkook smiles brightly at your achievement. His excitement gets the better of him as he kisses your cheek. You feel heat rush to your skin as you meet his gaze. Your eyes flit to his lips and back. Jungkook cups your face as he leans in, giving you enough time to move away but you don't.
His lips press to yours in a soft kiss that leaves you breathless. Your lips move in sync as he gets more confident when you kiss him back, softly moaning before he pulls away.
Jungkook's gaze is heated as he looks at you. His heart skips a beat as he takes in your beautiful expression. This time, you lean in for another kiss, knowing this is the best birthday you've ever had.

Fic Title Game: Pretending to be Endeavor's Secret Love Child, for Fun and for Profit
Izuku finds out that he's All for One's son shortly before he starts at U.A. To say he's unhappy would be putting it mildly. When Shouto asks if he is All Might's lovechild, Izuku answers "I wish" and dumps his own tragic backstory in return. Then Izuku and Shouto get into a huge argument about who has the worst dad.
Izuku: My dad is the number one villain!
Shouto: Exactly! You’re allowed to kill him, then he’ll be gone from your life forever. No one will let me kill my father!
In the end, they agree to swap fathers. Izuku tells everyone at U.A. that he is Endeavor's secret love child. Since Izuku gets the family credit card, he spends massive amounts of Endeavor's money on All Might merch. Izuku and Inko both move into the Todoroki house. Endeavor is so busy with work it takes him a week to notice. They both act like he should know them, so Endeavor thinks that he forgot about some relatives on his wife’s side coming to visit and keep trying to subtly figure out their names.
Shouto goes all-in pretending to be All for One's son. He dresses up in a black overcoat. He dyes his hair black, paints his nails black, and puts on a lot of eyeshadow. With angsty sighs, he tells anyone who will listen about his tragic fate to kill his villain father.
Everyone at U.A. varies drastically on how much they swallow the story, on a scale from Aizawa (who knows it's all nonsense) to All Might (totally believes it.) All Might has been counseling Izuku about his family issues and assigned a protection detail to Shouto in case All for One comes after him.
The first time Class 1-A encounters the League of Villains, Shouto plays his part so convincingly that Tomura goes back to chew his sensei out for being a deadbeat dad. Tomura does not approve of bad fathers.
All for One: Look, I know I haven’t called Izuku lately--
Tomura: You have MORE children you’ve been neglecting? Does this mean you homewrecked the number two hero’s family?
All for One: Say what? Izuku is my only child!
Tomura: Your other kid has both an ice and a fire quirk, which he clearly stole. Don’t try to lie your way out of this one!
Dabi ought to know it's all a lie but the Todoroki conspiracy theorist in him keeps asking, "What if Dad had an affair, and then Mom had an affair in revenge? Who should I kill then?"

For the fic prompt game! Yours is a KimChay fic titled, "Nowhere to Hide." :)
Kim loved playing hide and seek as a child.
Their home had so many nooks and crannies where no small child ought to have been, but there he'd be, tucked between boxes of ammunition and contraband in a dimly lit storage room or sheltered under the billowy skirt of Mae's favourite "fancy party dress" in the compound's laundry room, a stone's throw away from a basket of blood-soaked suits.
Kim was good at hiding.
Sometimes his brothers would give up in the middle of their game, and Kim would sit in the dark, waiting quietly.
Later, Pa always found him.
Pa always finds him.
All that's left for Kim is to run.
--
Kim runs away from his mafia life because of Reasons and meets Chay and Porsche. No famous musician Wik in this universe because that mask is too public. Maybe the thugs looking for Arthee come to the Kittisawasd house at the wrong time and Kim and Chay (and maybe Porsche?) kill them and of course Chay and Porsche are freaked out so they all go on the run. They don't see anything about the murders on the news, but someone is clearly following them.
Korn wants his youngest son back. And even though they don't know it, Korn wants the Kittisawasds too.

"For All the Tea in China" (or "Demelza Makes a Sandwich")
(slightly longer version from the fic title game prompt sent to me by @jomiddlemarch Thanks for indulging me!)
----
“Fuck it. We’re having the rapini for dinner!” Demelza said aloud to nobody and slammed the slightly wilted bunch down on the work surface.
Dinner was hours away–she was in fact still preparing lunch–but this decision felt like an act of defiance, and that was precisely what she was in need of at the moment.
Ross, or Mister Poldark as he was to her today, disliked rapini. He hadn’t said it in so many words but the absence of praise the last time she served it allowed her to solve for x.
Recently she’d gotten better at preparing the stuff so there was less bitterness. It turned out blanching, salting, and finishing with red pepper flakes proved key. But that mattered little to her. She loved all greens. Maybe there was a reason for that beyond her tendency to champion the underdog. She’d read somewhere that the bitter ones were higher in iron.
Maybe some bodies just need more iron, she’d wondered at the time. Ross clearly needed little. He was likely made of the fucking stuff, as stubborn and immovable as he was.
Demelza switched on the kettle and stared at the empty mug in her hand. Pride or self preservation, perhaps both, flooded her gut and drove her thoughts.
I will not let him see me upset.
She’d come to accept that Ross’s manner often swung between that of a companion and one of an employer. She knew Ross had moods and wasn’t always up for a laugh. And on those darker days, she gave him a wide berth but still saw that he was looked after. Well fed, clothes laundered, house tidied–all the things a good housekeeper should be doing. But when he was feeling more playful, she’d sit across from him at the table as more of a mate or even next to him while they watched telly. And when his beloved Everton lost yet another match, she wouldn’t hesitate to tease him for his loyalty. It seemed she wasn’t the only one in the house who favoured the underdog.
On his part, he’d laugh at her jokes, chide her for working too hard, slip her a bonus whenever he found himself even a little flush. Sometimes he’d smile when she just walked into the room.
Still, Demelza knew her place and had a firm enough sense of belonging, at least most of the time. With him anyway.
What she couldn't abide was the presence of Other People, when the rules were suddenly switched on her.
That had happened earlier when Ross’s prim-assed cousin in law, Elizabeth, came to call unannounced. Suddenly Demelza was meant to skivvy and scrape and be neither seen nor heard in the process.
Her Worshipfulness didn’t care for anything substantial as far as food or drink was concerned but Demelza still brought out bottled water in a clean glass (that wasn’t chipped) as a good housekeeper would do. And in exchange for her service, she received an icy thank you with delicate nostrils oh so subtlety flared.
Was she born with that sneer or has she been under the surgeon’s knife to perfect it?
But all that Demelza could bear, and she'd even managed to lock down all her own facial muscles so no brows raised or lips smirked in return.
It was Ross’s response–averting his gaze and looking at the floor as if she herself was a nuisance to be waited out–that was so intolerable. Then once she’d left the room, she heard him laugh.
To be fair, it wasn’t his heartiest chuckle, not the one he often shared when they joked and talked together, but a laugh was a laugh. And Elizabeth was his mate. All the time, not just when he felt lonely enough to slum it with the help, which is what Demelza always would be in the end.
It was nearly two hours later and Elizabeth long since gone, but Demelza hadn’t yet shaken the uneasiness. She pulled a knife from the drawer and set back to work.
She hated that Ross alone controlled what was true.
Recently, quite accidentally, she’d come across the term epistemic injustice in her reading. Now she rolled the words around in her mouth and felt their sharp edges and their weight. Perhaps this particular situation wasn’t injustice exactly but it was fucked up.
But maybe, just maybe, two could play the game. Ross too might come to learn the sting of being cast aside.
No more sportive banter, no matter his mood. If she wouldn't let him know what she was thinking, what she was feeling, then he wouldn’t know what to expect. What was true.
And he mustn’t know how important this job is to me. She might be able to live without his friendship–or so she tried to convince herself–but not so his paycheque.
The sliced chicken bore a chill from the fridge but the bacon was sizzling hot. Demelza trimmed the edges from the thankfully-still-crisp lettuce before she spread the sourdough slices with pesto mayonnaise. She’d prepared it only minutes before, conveniently forgetting it was Ross’s favourite.
Then she switched off the kettle and pulled down a second mug from the dish rack.
I will never laugh with him again, she resolved. Not even if he asks it of me. Not for all the tea in China.

For the fic prompt! Yours is a KimChay fic titled "One Chay at a Time"
No.
No no no...
Kim felt that dizzying, knife twist in the gut sensation even as he tried to claw his way back into slumber.
He couldn't face this new Chay, not with phantom tears stinging his eyes and unspoken words lodged in his throat.
Reality settled around him, an awareness he could no longer deny. The scent of leather (his jacket), a familiar crink in his neck (the sofa again?), the perfection of Chay's body blanketing his (clothed this time).
He tightened his hold, received a bleary, "P'Kim...?"
Not P'Wik, or simply Hey. They knew each other.
I love you, nearly slipped out, despite that it never worked this soon. Sometimes it didn't work at all, or made things worse.
It never stopped being true.
"Nothing," Kim soothed. "Go back to sleep."
Let me pretend a little longer that I've finally come home.
****
The title is fun but Kim is very much not feeling it, caught in a kind of Quantum Leap situation where he keeps waking up next to different Chays and can't move on until he fixes something. Sometimes it's their relationship, often it's something else.
The first leap/iteration he rushed to say "I love you" instead of "I'm hungry" and tried to prevent Chay's kidnapping. But in that reality Chay was mafia and Kim the kidnapping target and he was captured and everything played out Wrong. When he finally moved on it felt like he'd completed some kind of cosmic penance and was returning to his Chay, but the next morning they woke up naked and Kim tried the "I love you" line again not realizing new Chay was a sex worker lonely musician Wik had hired. It led to Chay going "Aw fuck you can't get attached I told you I can't handle attachments that's it we're done" and leaving. Navigating that reality was... interesting. 😂

Fictional Kylux fanfic game: "More Than Meets the Eye"
In the aftermath of a an attack, Hux finds himself injured and stranded on a deserted planet with Kylo Ren of all people. A blaster shot has rendered him (hopefully) temporarily blind, and in order to survive he has to trust Ren to get them out of this mess and keep them safe.
Never one to suffer vulnerabilty with grace, he's even more prickly than usual. He's just waiting for the other shoe to drop and Ren to dispose of him. They hate each other after all - don't they?
But Ren proves his mistrust in him wrong each and every time, and eventually Hux gets to realise that there's side to the dark and brooding man, he's never gotten to see while still being able to actually see.
They grow closer, but when Hux's vision starts to come back in small increments, he still doesn't tell Ren. Because he still doesn't trust him, he tells himself. But if he's being honest with himself, he really just doesn't want things to go back as they were.
When Ren ends up in danger (just imagine something like the quicksand scene from 65 *leGasp*) Hux doesn't hesitate a second though, the thought of losing Ren inacceptable to him.
Afterwards they'll only have to have a little talk about feelings and find a way to get away from this stupid rock of a planet, because, obvsiously, it has outlived its usefulness, now that our boys have finally gotten the message lol

you’re the ember to my flame when it gets dark
(one of my fav lyrics ever written (from this song))
hiiiii senny!!!💕💕💕
first of all: this song is amazing like holy shit WOW!!
a fic i would imagine for this song plays off a hades au for steddie. eddie, the god of the underworld, recognizes steve's soul in the river styx and feels this compelling need to pluck him out. he can't believe that someone so beautiful could have been cursed to this wretched place. as he restores life back into him, he expects steve to beg to go back up. to be alive again. or at the very least, be scared in the presence of a god. instead, steve takes one look around and says "does you really have to be this gloomy? i mean honestly, this place sucks enough without all the bones and decaying and rot." fascinated by his attitude, eddie asks what he would do to make it better. little by little, they create somewhere worth living, even if you're dead. and little by little, they fall for each other.

fic title: that’s the problem with gods (their pleasure and their wrath often look the same)
fandom: mlb
Have you ever read that one fic where Tikki blesses Lila so that all her lies come true. Similar idea, but with Trixx.
Trixx is pissed that not only has this girl claimed to be one of her kits, but is also dragging her current kit along for a ride. So, Trixx puts a curse on Lila: all of her lies come true in the most horrible way possible.
Lila says she's too broke to buy her own lunch? A hacker drains her personal bank account to nothing.
She can't participate in gym because of a twisted ankle? she immediately falls down in front of everyone and twists it for real.
She lies about some celebrity? The news immediately starts a story about how said celebrity is sending out a cease and desist to "this child who keeps claiming that I'll give her friends jobs. I barely know this kid! She needs to stop."
Meanwhile, both Marinette and Tikki know something is going on, figuring out Trixx is behind the curse, but they can't find Trixx to make him stop.
It comes to a head when Lila tells Mme. Bustier that she'll be absent the second half of the day because "her mom will need her". During lunch, a teacher runs in, telling Lila to get her bags because her mom was in an accident and is clinging to life.
Marinette and Tikki force Trixx to take back the curse, but the damage is done and Lila is forced to go back to Italy with her mom's comatose body for treatment.

Yoongi could hear his sons' laughter before he even stepped on the front porch. He had left work early to spend some time with his family, and his smile was permanently etched on his lips. There was nothing Yoongi loved more than being a husband and father. He lived for the moments he could spend with his family.
When Yoongi opens the front door, the laughter grows louder. Squeals of joy escape his two twin sons as they do their best to walk to the door to greet him. The two had just started walking a few days ago, often using each other for balance as they scrambled over to Yoongi with you behind them.
Yoongi chuckles when they slam their bodies into his legs, hugging him and cooing until he picks both of them up in his arms. He kisses both of them before he walks over to you, kissing your lips in greeting.
"Hi, baby," he says as you take one of your sons in your arms. Yoongi leans in for another kiss and your sons, pat at your chests.
"Oh? Where did our boys go?" Yoongi pretends he can't see them, making his search as dramatic as possible before he tickles their tummies and they laugh again.
Yoongi laughs with them, hugging the three of you close. There's nothing more he loved than being a family man. Nothing at all.

For the ask game, please!
Retail makes villains of all of us
What a great title!
In this AU, Izuku never encountered the Sludge Villain, never met All Might, and never had a shot at U.A. Instead, Izuku takes on a part-time coffee shop in high school. He plans to save up money to purchase support gear and become a vigilante. He's extremely good at his job due to a friendly demeanor and ability to stay calm even during the most intense sale days. A lot of his coworkers are people marginalized by society due to difficulty controlling their quirks or so-called villainous quirks. Izuku uses his quirk analysis to help them. Soon he gets a reputation spanning all manner of retail businesses across the city. People come to him for help with difficult bosses because he knows a lot about the law. Despite his very young age, he's viewed as a leader by his coworkers.
The League of Villains get jobs at Izuku's coffee shop after All for One is arrested and they become poor. Izuku helps them out as they struggle (a lot) to adjust to customer service. Tomura gets fired after a customer complained that his gloves were scary even though he hadn't done anything. (Yet.) Frankly Tomura planned on decaying the store in revenge, but Izuku leaps to his defense with a quirk discrimination lawsuit and a plan to unionize.
Izuku has been planning this for a while and launches a wave of unions across Japan. The League of Villains, being full of dramatic people, are experts at morale-boosting speeches. Endeavor first finds out that Dabi is alive because Dabi gives a speech on live television about the decadence of the upper class with pictures of his childhood as proof.
In good news: the League of Villains get so distracted with their new positions as union leaders that they forget about destroying society. In the bad news, Izuku gets framed as a villain by his employers. At that point, they get to find out what Izuku would actually be like as a villain.

hi hello :)
for the ask game, "they all seem happier than us" with kimchay pls ♡
Chay is happy for his brother. He is.
Despite Porsche's new responsibilities as head of the minor family, Chay notices the changes in his brother. He's brighter and less stressed than before. Despite all the risks and dangers that come with having a key role in the mafia, having Kinn's support is enough to overshadow everything.
Porsche seems happier now. More than he ever did when it was just the two of them, Porsche and Porchay, and sometimes their uncle.
Now it's Porsche and Kinn and sometimes Chay.
Chay just wishes he could be happy for himself.
--
Chay isn't happy. Not really. Kim notices it in the lines of Chay's shoulders and the shuffle of his steps and vows to fix it (he might never be happy, but if Chay can be happy, that'll be enough).

Fic title ask:
By a Candle’s Light
A Friendly Observation
Thank you! 😘
@dreamstone28737 Thanks so much! Let's see...
“By a Candle’s Light” In this one, Demelza’s mind wanders as she waits alone for Ross’s return from yet another risky encounter with Trencrom.
Snippet: He had told her to pull the curtains, to turn a blind eye, but she would do no such thing. Someone had to be a beacon in the tempest Ross had brought upon himself. She’d already checked on Jeremy asleep in his cot, his hands curled in fists as he grabbed at unseen things in his dreams.
And just what is he wanting? she’d wondered. Despite their current circumstances, whatever the little boy desired now, he usually got. Something sweet, a tug at Garrick’s fur, a cuddle from his mama. And from his papa. It wouldn't be long before his wants would be more complicated--and unmet.
The candle she’d lit some time ago hissed and reminded her how quiet the house could be at night without Ross’s heavy feet. She thought to get up and attend to the greasy sputter left on the table but something kept her planted on her bench by the window.
It was the sudden memory of another night, another candle, years before. Up in his bedchamber, Ross had lit a second candle when the first had gone out. At first it had only been her bare skin that was illuminated but when he removed his own shirt and then his trousers, she understood what would happen next.
--AND--
“A Friendly Observation” This one takes place in the weeks after the New Year 1994, when university mates Caroline and Ross meet in a pub to catch up.
Snippet:
“Caroline, are you seriously ignoring my question?” Ross smiled and lit a cigarette. He waited until he had her attention before he exhaled slowly and dramatically. A couple seated nearby looked over with a sneer.
“My goodness, it is the smoking section,” Caroline said loud enough to be heard over the Ace of Bass playing on the pub’s stereo. She emphatically pushed the ashtray towards Ross, nearly upsetting his empty pint glass.
But then trying to be subtle, she waved away the waft of smoke that had drifted towards her. She had told Ross time and again that she didn't truly mind his bad habit, she just didn't care for the way it made her hair smell afterwards.
“I spend a lot of money on my signature scent so I shouldn't like all that Chanel to go to waste,” she’d said as though she’d truly ever economised on anything in her life.
She took another drink from her wine glass and absently straightened the newspaper on the table between them.
“Do you really think a thrashing in the local and European elections this summer could mean curtains for Mr. Major?” she asked, reading the headline upside down.
“Caroline?” Ross laughed. His was a deep and infectious laugh that would warm a room but this time it was meant to call her on her nonsense. “You never seem quite as interested in world affairs as when you are asked a question about your love life. Just a friendly observation.”
“You did no such thing, Ross,” she tossed her head defiantly. “You asked me about Dwight Enys. And what makes you think your silly mate is part of my love life?”

Made up fic title meme, because I’m only functionally capable of titling via song lyrics: Coming on fast like good dreams do
xoxo MJ
first of all, GREAT SONG
second of all, with the vibes of the whole song:
henry being in his sad boi hours between the lakehouse and alex storming kensington
third of all, just with that lyric: (spicy under the cut bc its you MJ)
alex 'bisexual speedrun king' claremont diaz asks henry to edge him "for practice" because his last girlfriend told him she's breaking up with him because he always comes too fast. and henry agrees because he's a masochistic fuckwit sometimes (yes it does take alex more than just ASKING henry for this favor to realize he's into dudes and henry specifically)
