Ch. 6 - The end!
Thanks for reading and supporting! ♥️
————————————-
“Saints! I’m so happy for you. He always seemed so stoic but professing his love like that! And giving you a key…how romantic. I remember when David and I got serious…” Genya’s eyes glaze into a faraway look as she reminisces.
Genya was folding laundry on the sofa as Alina sat on the floor next to her, holding a sock with blue cars on it and looking for its match in the giant pile in front of her. She came over to her neighbor’s the very next day to chat through the recent developments. On the one hand, it was exciting - like a high school sleepover dishing about a giddy new crush. On the other, it was coming to terms what what she still needed to do. And she could hardly face it.
“But when are you going to talk to Mal? Aleksander is being patient but you have to do it soon. He loves you and you love him so what are you waiting for!”
It was true. Since that chat, Aleks had not brought it up again. Nothing had changed but there was a tinge of torment in his words - a slight quiet that wasn’t there before.
Tonight, Alina was going over to surprise him with dinner. She hadn’t seen or talked to him much in the past week. He had been working quite late and had been very tired so she thought a nice homecooked meal would help. She went grocery shopping with Genya to prepare the ingredients for a nice hearty stew. She was anxious to see him and just wanted to be close to him again.
——
Alina let herself into the big house with her key. It was chilly and she turned up the heating in the hallway thermostat before going into the kitchen.
As usual, everything was immaculate. She unloaded her ingredients on the island. She paired her phone to the little speaker on the counter to her favorite mix and got busy with the cooking.
“Hello?” A voice came from the entryway.
Alina was so engrossed in her music and the cooking that she didn’t even hear the front door. A second later, Aleks materialised into the living area and came up to her. Hugging her from the side. He burried his face in her hair.
“Something smells nice. What a lovely surprise. I’ve missed you this week.” Aleks breathed, kissing her head before bending over to look at the stew.
“This looks amazing. I’m starved.”
“Go wash up - it’s almost ready. I’ll set the table and then we should be good.”
“Great. I think that Cab you like will go great with this. I’ll open a bottle when I come back down.”
15 minutes later they were seated at the table. The beefy aroma of the stew was great - Alina outdid herself here, she thought. It was just like she remembered from home and Genya’s seasoning tips were a perfect compliment to help finish the dish.
“How was your day - how was your week. Tell me everything.” Aleks asked thickly as he started spooning the stew into his mouth.
“It was fine. I saw Gen today. Didn’t do much this week - too cold out. Just some errands and had to take some suits of Mal’s into the cleaners…”
Alina balked as the mention of Mal hung heavy in the air. It was accidental and she hadn’t meant to. Evoking his name cut through their pleasant evening as they both thought about the conversation they were avoiding.
Alina gulped. She picked up her glass of wine and downed it to avoid saying anything more. Aleks noticed, staring, but did not say anything. He picked up his empty plate and went over to the sink. He started loading the dishwasher and busying himself with the cleaning.
“Aleks - you don’t have to do that. You’ve had a long day.” Desperate for a change in topic, Alina quickly got up to help.
“Don’t be ridiculous, you cooked for me. This is nothing.”
After cleaning up the kitchen, they sat down on the sofa. The air was still a bit tense and awkward ever since Alina said the M word. She felt desperate to say something. She had to say something. But what? There was nothing to say. No news or update. They sat there in front of the cozy fire and she was leaned against him with his arm around her but she felt the slight stiffness to it.
Sitting up, Alina turned to look at him.
“Aleks, I’m sorry. I know I have to do this and it’s been killing me. But I just haven’t been able to muster up the courage. I love you, you know, right? And I want a life with you. But I just —”
“Alina, let me stop you right there.” He put a hand on her shoulder.
“I am never going to put pressure on you. But you know I don’t want to wait. I’m ready to start our life together. And you know it’s not right - the longer we leave it. I won’t ask you again because this is something that you need to do. But I am here and waiting. And I will be here when you are ready.” Aleks spoke resolutely but there was a slight falter in his voice.
“Are you…are you asking me to leave?” Alina trembled.
“Milaya, no. Of course not. But, this can’t continue this way. You know it’s not right, don’t you? It’s not fair to Mal and it’s not fair to us.”
Aleks gripped her with his arm and kissed her gently on her cheek right on the tear that had escaped down from her eye.
The rest of the night they sat mostly in silence, deep in their own thoughts. Alina slept over but neither of them slept much. She curled toward him, longing for closeness. He lay there, ramrod straight, no attempt to touch her back. Both wide awake within their thoughts.
At dawn, Aleks roused her gently, sitting on the edge of her side of the bed and kissed her cheek. He smoothed her hair as Alina slowly blinked awake and brushed the sleep from her eyes.
“Morning,” he whispered.
“What time is it”, she said sluggishly, still waking up.
“Something’s come up at work and I have to go into Os Alta for a couple days. I’ll be back on Thursday. Think about what I said yesterday. I’ll be waiting.”
Alina, suddenly wide awake, reached up, arms around neck and hugged tightly burying herself into his chest. Absorbing that minty pine smell, fingers woven through his hair to memorize the feel of it in her hands.
He gently pried her off. “I have to go. Love you.”
And he was gone. Alina fell back into the sheets and cried. Not just for this messy situation but for herself and for all the time she had lost. She completely emptied herself - the reservoir of tears she had stored away over the years.
——
Hey, you’re still going to be home tonight, right?
Ya, but not till 8. What’s up?
I was hoping we could talk about something. I’ll wait for you to eat and we can get a delivery or something.
Works for me. Chat later.
Since Alina left Aleksander’s house three days ago, it had been complete radio silence on his part. To be fair, it was probably good for Alina to have the space. Clear her mind and figure everything out. Aleks’ distance felt like of ultimatum proportions. The ball was in her court and it was only fair to everyone to sort it out.
Her heart was steady and unflinching - it knew that her path ended with Aleks - but her brain was a flood of anxiety at confronting Mal. She would have to think with her heart, then, tonight.
Alina sat at the sofa with a glass of whisky - solitary cube clinking around the cup. She normally wasn’t big on liquor but the evening called for something stronger. She heard the front door go and Mal coming down the hall.
“Alin? I’m home.” Mal came into the room, briefcase still in hand. He stood in the doorway inquisitively.
“What’s up? Everything ok?” He came over and sat down on the armchair facing her.
Alina was glad of the space. She had a blanket over herself on the sofa and it was hiding her shaking hands.
“Yes. I just need to talk to you. How are you, how was your day?” Alina didn’t even know where to start. She could feel her throat tightening as the dread gripped her.
“Ya, all fine. Busy as usual but Mr. Lantsov is really pleased with my work in the past few months. He was hinting today at next steps for me if I can get the Van Eck deal closed. Will have to hit it hard and put in some late nights for the next while…”
Alina felt bad. Mal had no idea what was coming. But she had to do it. It was time.
“So, I need to talk to you. I still don’t think this is working.”
“What do you mean? Come on, Alina… you know I have to focus on work right now.”
“It’s not just that, Mal. I mean, it’s part of it, but don’t you think this - us - hasn’t been working in a while?” She looked at him, waiting for a reply.
Mal’s face was still. It went from slightly annoyed to now grave.
Quietly, he said, “Oh. That.”
He contemplated in silence for a few moments and continued on slowly, “I mean, you know work is really important to me. I thought moving here would help. Get away from the city and all that. I guess when I think about it, I was just skating by with us. Work was consuming me anyway so I thought we wouldn’t ever have to deal with it. ”
Alina sat up, scooting closer to where Mal was. Eyes full of sincerity. The way forward was clear now and she was going to finish this.
“But that wasn’t the problem. Even the work wasn’t really the problem. When was the last time we hung out together and had a blast? Not since college, I think. Even the few times here with Gen and David, you had to take some calls and were preoccupied with your phone. I think…I think that I love the idea of us and you mean so much to me. We go way back and you’ve almost always been in my life. But it’s not love, like real love. Don’t you think?” Alina fought back tears, choking them down as she said this.
Mal leaned back into the armchair and sighed, eyes closed. Alina gave him the time to collect his thoughts.
He opened his eyes and sat up a bit straighter.
Sighing deeply again, “You’re right, Lin. Maybe this conversation is overdue. I’m sorry for how this ended up and that I made you unhappy. Work has somehow become my priority and everything else got left by the wayside. I think I also loved the idea of us. It also didn’t help when I thought about what that would also do for my professional capital. But that’s my fault. It was unfair to you. To us. I did love you though. I do love you. Just probably not in the right way.” Mal’s eyes now also started to water up. He looked away toward the window.
“Oh Mal. I do love you too. It’s not your fault. It’s both of us not having the courage to talk to each other. And honestly, I wouldn’t have done it if we hadn’t moved here. Being here, meeting Genya and all the new friends in the neighborhood, it opened my eyes. Seeing Genya and David, I could see what I could have had - what we both could have.”
Mal rubbed his eyes and got up, sitting next to her on the sofa. He put an arm around her and gave a wan smile.
“We did have some fun times, though, didn’t we? I wish it could be different. But my career is the most important thing for me right now. I don’t know how that happened in a blink. Over the years, I didn’t even know what has changed or where my priorities have changed. I’m sorry, Alina. Truly. You don’t deserve this. Or me. But you mean so much to me - I just want you to be happy. And you’re still my best friend.”
“Don’t take it on yourself. It was both of us. Things change and people change.” Alina sighed.
Alina put her head on his shoulder. She felt exhausted from carrying this burden the past few weeks. But, it was over now. But somehow, although she loved Aleks, she still felt a bit shitty from all this. To be fair, she thought, Mal was a huge part of her life for a long time. It was still going to be a hole in part of her identity. But it was one that Aleks could fill. It could heal as she moved forward in her life. Thinking about that, she thought she should have mentioned Aleks, that she owed it to Mal, but there was no point. And it wouldn’t have changed anything. Mal would just have felt worse. All roads led to this anyway. He was just a catalyst.
Now, she had to see if she could rectify that situation. Take the step forward and meet his. Show Aleks that she was ready.
Mal moved to get up from the couch. Alina looked up at him expectantly.
“I’ll pack some stuff up. I’ll either go to Ilya’s or the office. You can stay here and we can figure out what to do with the house and everything.”
Alina could feel the color rising on her face - heating her cheeks. He didn’t know it but she felt so guilty all of a sudden. She could tell him she could go to Aleks’ but it didn’t feel right to say that now. She would wait awhile.
“You can stay. There is plenty of room - even for two of us - and it’s not like we hate each other or anything.” Alina gave a small smile.
“No, it’s better this way. Fresh start and all that.”
——
An hour later, Mal had packed up a bag and got ready to leave. She walked him to the door and they awkwardly lingered for a moment. It was weird. The end of a long chapter.
“Well, see you, Lin. I’ll message you before I come back for anything.”
“Bye, Mal. When you can, just let me know that you’re ok.”
One last hug. It was drawn out longer than normal - both holding on for the last time.
Alina closed the door and leaned against the door for awhile. She felt relieved and sad at the same time. She also felt exhausted from the swirl of different emotions. She slid down to the floor, head leaned against door and closed her eyes. She sighed, relaxing for a moment. Slow breaths, in and out.
After a short while, her eyes flew open with exceptional clarity. She was ready.
She ran out of the house without a coat. Sped down the familiar route to 1121.
She didn’t even ring the bell. Knocked repeatedly on the large wooden door.
Turn of the lock and there he was.

If I had a heart
Fandom: Vanitas no Carte Pairing: Vannoé Rating: G Words: ~2.4k
Summary: "Why don’t you ever sleep?"Vanitas shuts his eyes and sighs. Apparently, Noé has decided he’s feeling talkative tonight and he isn’t quite sure he’s up to the task. He contemplates fleeing by the window."What do you dream about?" He asks instead. "What is it about rain?"
Noé doesn't sleep quiet.
It shouldn't come as a surprise and in truth it isn't.
Vanitas has long realized Noé never stops moving, constantly shifting, slow, careful, micro movements even when he gives the illusion of stillness. If Vanitas had found it odd at first, this perpetual motion that doesn't seem to have a beginning nor an end, he's become used to it. Stillness would fit Noé like a pair of over-sized trousers. Plus, there is something rewarding knowing he chooses to remain at Vanitas' side in spite of it.
Though, Vanitas thinks, maybe there is nothing extraordinary there. He does have a knack for flattering himself over trivialities and Noé does seem like the type to flee within the careful boundaries of his own impulses. If he were to try and explain it, he would probably say it's something like relying on a tide, knowing it's bound to recede and trusting it to come back simply because it's within the order of things.
The light pitter-patter of rain on their roof and the cool breeze their window is letting through offer a welcomed truce from the noisy hubbub of daylight-Paris. It strengthens the pungent scent of flowers and Vanitas almost wishes he could sleep.
Alas, it seems like tonight is one of those nights where his mind just won’t stop running in circles.  Nightmares awaits in the dark and Vanitas would much rather wait it out and pass out from exhaustion than surrender to unpleasant dreams and restless sleep.
Behind him Noé shifts. His breathing is shallow; he’s probably dreaming and Vanitas would be willing to bet his dreams aren’t the pleasant kind either.
Sometimes he wonders how many layers there are to Noé. He wonders, once stripped of that naive and happy-go-lucky persona, what tragedy he would find woven in Noé’s bones or what he would see in his blood had he possessed the same ability the vampire has. Pain has a way of etching itself under people’s skin, Vanitas knows that all too well. And Noé is either a paradigm of resilience or a complete fool for acting the way he does.
Vanitas leans toward the latter.
He extends his hand out the window. From the looks of it, rain will probably halt before morning, leaving strips of fog to welcome dawn. But for now water is dripping from the roof and onto his gloved arm with a muted sound and when he angles it upward, droplets make their way to bare skin. He shivers.
Prompted by something fierce and sudden, he decides to take his gloves off entirely.
The rain on the exposed skin of his arms is cold. It feels odd. Satisfying. Vanitas revels in the foreign sensation.
It’s surprisingly freeing.
He avoided a wealth of unnecessary stares and intrusive questions by covering his arms, but as habits go he hardly ever bothers taking the gloves off anymore.
His heart is beating faster in his chest like he’s committing some kind of sin by baring his mark for all to see. The scar left by the Vampire of the Blue Moon is a peculiar one. Not unlike cracks in marble, it made ruins out of skin. Granted, no one is around this time but the exhilaration he feels is the same he felt back at the vampire ball.
Vanitas absentmindedly thumbs at Jeanne’s mark of possession. If that first scar made rumbles out of his soul, Jeanne’s grew thorny vines around its debris.
Water runs over his bare arms and the rose on his neck thrums and he tries not to think about how a mark of ownership etched into his skin is the closest he’ll ever get to a sense of belonging.
Thunder rumbles in the distance, far enough to be muffled but loud enough to rouse Noé from sleep.
In an expected show of maladroitness, Noé falls to the floor with a loud thump and he gasps, slowly coming back to reality. The noise has Vanitas turning back, water dripping from his fingers. Noé stays there for a bit, blinking up at the ceiling and seemingly unaware of Vanitas’ presence.
When Vanitas expects him to stand up, Noé simply curls up on himself and clutches the pillow that followed him to the floor. He looks miserable.
"The bed would be more comfortable," Vanitas says before he can stop himself. He wipes his wet hands on the fabric of his pants, as if to erase the trace of his moment of distraction.
Noé doesn’t startle, simply glances up to meet Vanitas’ stare like it’s no surprise for him to find the other man there. Something in Vanitas’s chest aches at Noé unguarded expression, something overwhelming and terrifying that he swallows up right away.
"Surely that must be why you never sleep in yours."
Even with their room shrouded in half darkness, Vanitas can’t miss the way crimson eyes trail on the exposed skin of his arms, halting on the jagged scar left by the Vampire of the Blue Moon. For someone just barely awake and halfway across the room, Noé is oddly perceptive. Vanitas doesn't bother with an answer and turns around to face the window again, fighting the urge to cover up his arms.
"Why don’t you ever sleep?"
Vanitas shuts his eyes and sighs. Apparently, Noé has decided he’s feeling talkative tonight and he isn’t quite sure he’s up to the task. He contemplates fleeing by the window.
"What do you dream about?" He asks instead. "What is it about rain?"
He doesn't really care about an answer, aiming to make a point. They both have secrets of their own and Vanitas won’t probe if Noé doesn’t and he expects the opposite to be true as well. This weird status quo of theirs has proven to be quite efficient until now.
For a moment he thinks it worked, but then he hears Noé moving. “I feel lonely when it rains,” he says softly, “I’m not sure why.”
Vanitas almost rolls his eyes. Just like that, huh? Of course. He should have known. But Noé is not done yet.
“Can I... see it?”
Vanitas tenses involuntarily. “See what.”
The request doesn’t put him on edge, but the hesitation it’s laced with does. Noé runs head first into everything, including conversations. Noé hesitating means he’s testing boundaries again and Vanitas will have none of it.
“What is it?” he insists, voice cold. Even though Vanitas knows the vampire refers to the mark on his arm, Noé is going to have to work if he wants an answer, starting by asking complete questions. “What is it you wanna see?”
“The kind of face you’re making.”
Vanitas’ breath catches in his throat. His heart is beating so loudly he can’t hear the rain anymore and he mentally curses Noé’s unpredictability.
He takes a few second to collect himself, relaxing his features into a carefully crafted mask. Noé can read what he wants on his face, but Vanitas won’t let him see vulnerability, even if it kills him.
Noé is sitting with his back to his bed, staring intently at him with that expression he makes when something has caught his attention. “You’re too far for me to see.”
Why the hell should I care, Vanitas thinks.
“Liar,” he says, stepping forward.
He crouches down in front of the vampire, meeting his stare with feigned confidence. "Good enough for you?"
Drowsiness adds a certain softness to Noé’s features. His hair is disheveled, shirt hanging low and exposing his collarbones while his eyes are blinking away remnants of sleep as they scan Vanitas' face. He doesn’t have Vanitas’ reticence to display his emotions and Vanitas imputes the hints of something dark and mournful he sees in Noé’s eyes to the dream he just woke up from.
Vanitas can’t say just how long they remain like this, an unspoken challenge to see who will unravel who first, pushing and pulling at newly established boundaries until a comfortable middle ground emerges. He loses track of time and there’s no way to know for sure if the stars he sees in Noé’s eyes are a trick of his mind or a trick of his treacherous, treacherous heart.
Noé finally tips the scales when he extends his arm forward. Not demanding, but asking. As much as  it infuriates him, Vanitas finds he doesn’t mind meeting Noé halfway.
Noé's hand on his wrist is burning. "Vanitas, you're freezing." He looks torn between curiosity and genuine concern. "Whatever were you doing in the rain, anyway?"
“You’re just full of questions tonight, aren’t you?”
"I'm trying to understand," Noé responds, bringing his attention back to Vanitas' arm.
Vanitas wonders what in the world there is to understand.
“So, this is the mark of possession, the one from the Vampire of the Blue Moon. I didn't get a clear look at it last time.”
His eyes are shining but Vanitas can tell he is trying conceal his interest. Noé is holding his wrist delicately enough that he could retrieve his arm back anytime he wants. However, Vanitas doesn't move, figuring he can indulge Noé’s curiosity if it means satisfying his own. Noé doesn’t look half as wary as he should be with such a powerful mark of possession in proximity, let alone two. What an odd ball.
“It looks like your arm might fall apart,” Noé murmurs, "with all these fissures."
"Who knows?" Vanitas muses. "One of these days, it just might."
Noé glares. "Please do not joke around, Vanitas."
He skims his fingers over the mark and Vanitas has to repress a violent shiver. "Does it still hurt?"
Judging by his question, Noé probably misread his reaction and Vanitas shakes his head. "Not really."
"What about these?"
This time, he inhales sharply and doesn't answer. Noé has grabbed his other arm, the one covered in scars, cruel account of his time spent in Moreau's lab. Some are clean, thin stab wounds, others nasty burns, and although they've all stopped hurting quite some time ago, nothing compares to the searing pain that comes with remembering how he got all of them.
“Moreau did this to you." Noé's voice has gone incredibly soft. That someone could manage to sound this kind while being this furious is beyond Vanitas.
“Some of it,” he says. It comes out strangled.
Never has Vanitas fathomed that silence could be compassionate.
Noé remains quiet and he loathes every second of it. More than anything, Vanitas loathes how sadness attaches itself in the crease of Noé’s brows and the tug of his lip and he loathes how similar his expression is to the one he was wearing when he woke up only minutes ago. He doesn’t want to have anything to do with something that would cause Noé any grief.
"I think," Vanitas says, retrieving his arm and holding it against his chest,"that you should be careful not to stain anyone with that bleeding-heart of yours."
Noé brings his arms around his knees. "Vanitas, I wish none of it had happened to you.”
Vanitas sighs. If they had been coming from anyone else, he would have doubted the sincerity of such words, but it’s Noé so he knows it’s heartfelt and it hurts all the more. "Regrettably, my dear Noé, you can’t change the past.”
Noé opens his mouth and closes it and Vanitas knows he’s hesitating again.
“What now? Out with it!”
“Vanitas, I’ve been wondering, who exactly is no. 71?”
“Who is Louis?” Vanitas counters, not entirely surprised. Noé shoots him a look.
By all accounts Noé is no stranger to restless nights, meaning he’s not spared from sleep-talking. Vanitas had stored that information away for future use but Noé started it so it’s only fair he responds.
Noé looks away, his expression growing distant and oh so impossibly sad. “You don’t have to deflect questions you don’t want to answer, you know. Just tell me you don’t want to.”
Vanitas snorts. “And who is deflecting questions now?”
“Louis was a dear-”
“Don’t tell me!” Vanitas interrupts, his hands over his ears, “I don’t want to know.”
Noé blinks and considers him in silence.
You're weird, Vanitas," he finally says, "Usually, when people ask questions they expect an answer."
Vanitas barks out a laugh. "And usually whoever answers expects another answer in return." And I have no interest in spilling my heart tonight.
He stands up in one easy movement and stretches. "You should go back to sleep."
He motions to step away but Noé catches his wrist with inhuman speed. "Vanitas," he calls, "I told you I was staying with you. I do not expect anything of you and you do not owe me anything."
He says it like it's a given and it explains everything. Like he's not lying when Vanitas knows deep down Noé seeks some kind of redemption with the Book of Vanitas. No one is that selfless, but that's just fine with him. If he has to owe someone, he'd rather it be Noé. And if that's the kind of salvation Noé desires, Vanitas will hand it over to him, come hell or high water.
"Heh."
Vanitas twists in Noé's hold and entwines their fingers. He pivots and leans down, placing his other hand on Noé's mouth and muffling his noise of surprise.
He smiles. "Or maybe I do, you hopeless vampire," he whispers without any bite. Maybe I owe you everything.
The both of them are already breathing the same air and really it's no effort for Vanitas to inch ever so closer and press his lips to the back of his own hand.
It's soft and delicate and everything Vanitas is not and Noé's eyes grow wide. His breath is warm against Vanitas's fingers and for a fleeting moment he kisses back, lips pursing against Vanitas’s palm.
Before he can decide if Noé means it, Vanitas breaks the spell. He laughs, stepping away and climbing in Noé's bed without waiting for his reaction. He shoves himself underneath the covers. "I think I'm going to rest for awhile."
His voice is muffled by the heavy comforter on top of him but he knows Noé hears him anyway. He holds his hand to his chest, trying to ignore the way it tingles where Noé's lips touched his skin but that's no easy feat when he's surrounded with Noé's scent.
Noé doesn't comment, but Vanitas feels a pillow sliding under his head. He adjusts his position and sighs. "Would you mind staying for a bit...Noé?"
He immediately bites his lip, hating how defenseless he sounds.
He hears a chair being dragged on the floor. Noé hums, tranquil.
"No, Vanitas. I wouldn't mind at all."

Sorry, hit ask before I was ready :( I was trying to write that I’ve read all of your Klaroline fics (which were all amazing, by the way) and I’m still dying for more. Have you read any you can recommend?
Okay! Since you have been reading my things, I am going to assume you are interested in mostly non-AH. If that is incorrect, I apologize, but here are a few suggestions! Also, please note, a great number of these are NSFW.
candycolamorgan: Pretty much everything that Colleen does is a gift. But I’d strongly suggest you start with say goodbye to our empty ruins I and II. I also suggest the only ones who do it right, and he told me i was holy. You can find her on A03 and her tumblr fic tag is fic:mine. You’ll need to be logged into A03 to see her fic.
LalainaJ: Again, such a gift. Her drable collection is A++, but here are a few of the things I have loved most. My Regrets Are Few, You Keep Track, Turn The Heavens Down,  Oh How Strange, Whisper To Me, Help Me Remember. You can find her under A03, FFN, and her Tumblr.
If you manage to slog through those, here are a few more!
Devil’s Backbone - Willowaus
And the Moth Danced With the Flame - Tarafina
sometimes i close my eyes and pretend i’m alright - Fancy Piece of Work
Inside the Studio- Biana Delacroix
Sympathy for the Devil - Tara1189
Tracing Poems On Your Body- fadingtales
Won’t You Lay Your Hands On Me - wordspank
I also, I suggest: thetourguidebarbie, garglyswoof, delightfullysunny, lilbreck, accidental-rambler, and cbk1000.
Fingers crossed you haven’t read everyone on this list, and that at least one thing is new for you. Some of the suggestions are one-shots, some are multi-chapters. Hopefully you enjoy all of them!

but also olicity + we’re brushing our teeth and we both went to spit and you spit on me guess who’s living on the couch for the next month
okay, i don’t have a title for this but here you go!!! also thank you for the advice and the prompt, bev.
It was just another Monday morning, like clockwork, Oliver and Felicity woke up early and started their morning routine and prepared themselves for what would undoubtedly be a long day, a long day littered with budget meetings with city officials, quarterly reports with board members, parent-teacher conferences and hunting down drug lords. It was their normal, but they wouldn’t have it any other way. After all they’ve been through, they savored the precious moments when they weren’t the Green Arrow and Overwatch, Mayor Queen and Smoak Tech CEO, but just Oliver and Felicity.
The two were currently preoccupied in their en-suite bathroom, their right arms in sync in a back-and-forth motion, Felicity in front of the sink, Oliver towering behind her, their height difference so perfectly on display.
“So I have that board meeting at 1 and I should finish just in time to make it to Will’s softball game,” Felicity said semi-coherently, the mixture of her own spit and toothpaste muffling her voice.
“And the budget meeting should finish up by 1:30 so I should meet you at the game,” Oliver replied in an equally muffled voice. Felicity nodded at his response.
Exhaustion was slowly seeping in between their bones, having been up later than usual during their vigilante activities, a standard patrol turning into a hostage situation. The fatigue was slowly catching up to Oliver, he wasn’t getting any younger anymore, as his eyes felt heavy and heavier.
Two things happened: his eyes felt droopy, slowly closing themselves, and he felt Felicity move forward to spit and followed behind her. The sounds of rushing water stopped as the bathroom fell silent and Oliver moved back upright.
“Um, Oliver?”
“Yes, honey,?” He asked, his eyes still closed, hoping this power nap, if he could even call it that, would will his body awake afterward. Moments later, he opened his eyes and did not meet the eyes of his beautiful blonde wife in the reflection before him. Instead, Felicity was crouched over the sink with one noticeable difference,  a glob of what seemed to be Oliver’s spit and residual toothpaste seeping through her blonde tresses.
Oliver’s eyebrows widened in surprise, “Oh my god, honey. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah, do you think you could grab me the handtowel from there?” She asked wearily.
He grabbed the washcloth from the other side of the sink, maneuvered around his wife and wet the cloth and dabbed it against her head. She took it from his hands and finished the job.
“Felicity, honey, I’m so sorry. I didn’t even see. I was so tired, my eyes closed for a second,” Oliver apologized profusely.
She raised her upper half back up and turned to meet Oliver. “Oliver, sweetie, it’s okay. I get it. You’re tired. We’re both tired.”
Oliver released a breath he didn’t know he was holding in. “But don’t think you’re getting off that easy. Now, I have to shower and wash my hair.”
Felicity glanced at the shower to her right, “Now, I would say that you’re sleeping on the couch for ruining my hair and making me mess up my routine this morning….”
“But,”Oliver added hesitantly.
“But….” she smirked, “All can be forgiven if you join me in the shower and help me wash my hair.”
Oliver gave her a dirty grin, “Oh, is that so?”
“I mean you don’t have to,” Felicity replied. “Unless sleeping on the couch does suit you fine,” she said matter-of-factly.
She started heading towards the shower, taking her tank top and panties off before she opened the door, “The choice is yours.” She said winking and then closing the door behind her and turning the water on.
“Well, with an offer like that,” he said knowing she couldn’t hear him over the running water, he took his pajama pants and boxer briefs and joined her in the shower, showing her just how sorry he was. All was forgiven if Felicity’s enthusiasm was any indication afterward.
idk if i’m supposed to tag my regular peeps in these but idk i’ll tag a couple people: @felicityollies @stardonium @gothsmoak @smoakqueenz @fellicityqueen @emilyszuko

Kid Gloves Chapter 7 | Sweet Awakening
“So,” Ling announces cheerfully the moment they’ve sat down to lunch. “Saw Mustang staring at you again today, Ed.” Ling has this habit of doing the most aggravating things with the sunniest smile plastered across his face – he probably thinks it’ll make people less likely to get pissed at him. He’s definitely wrong about that.

jongtae - grinding
Taemin wasn’t as young as he used to be but the boy still couldn’t hold his liquor. He had only had three shots of whiskey and a bottle of soju, but he was beyond tipsy. The best part (according to Jonghyun), was the fact that when Taem had had too much to drink, he kinda…well he turned into a bit of a slut to be perfectly honest. He’d lean on the nearest attractive person and giggle at literally everything they said, and all the while his hands, oh his roaming little fingers, they’d find all sorts of new places to explore, whilst his tongue did similarly on any patch of uncovered skin.
Jonghyun remembered very specifically on one weekend in May last year, at Key’s graduation celebration (he’d finally gotten his combined degree in fashion design and business), when Taemin had been drunk off his ass and decided to strip butt naked in the middle of the living room in front of all their friends. Well it was only Key, Minho (Key’s roomie), Jinki (Minho’s boyfriend), and then of course Jonghyun himself. But still. The boy had no shame the second you gave him alcohol. And Jonghyun in particular had a little um problem to take care of after the newly nude youngest in their little band of friends had decided that dancing sexily to some random girl’s group song was a good idea. The other just laughed their asses off at Taemin’s drunken dancing whilst Jonghyun on the other hand, had to excuse himself about halfway through the song to go take care of his little problem in the bathroom.
So now that Taemin was finally legal, Jonghyun felt at less bad about inviting him over to drink and chill. He didn’t always these harbour feelings of lust for the young dancer but as he grew up, Jonghyun had to admit, the boy had really gotten quite sexy. He was in better control of his body as well, which only served to further fuck with Jonghyun’s brain. It was one of those nights that Taemin had come over to hang out and this time was a bit different…
Both were more than tipsy, and more than a little bit horny too. Somehow they’d decided in their alcohol addled brains that it would be a fun idea to dance to random songs that played when Jonghyun’s iPod was set to shuffle. So naturally they started off just fucking goofing around dancing horribly on purpose and off the beat and everything.
“Yah! Taeminnie~ Why don’t you dance seexxyyyy~” Jonghyun slurred loudly in his drunken state of mind. He really didn’t know what response he expected but he definitely wasn’t expecting Taemin to suddenly smirk and then start dancing like he belonged on a bar with a pole.
Jonghyun knew he was a good dancer, but in all his life he’d never imagined that the awkward ridiculous forever tongue-tied Taemin could move his body that fluidly or thrust his hips so powerfully. That alone made his blood rush downwards. The moves got better worse and better worse as the song continued, ending with Taemin all but humping the floor, one hand in his hair the other hooked in the top of his pants, looking like pure sex.
So when Taemin got up slow and sensually as you please, dilated eyes focusing hungrily on Jonghyun, flitting up and down his body, pausing on his defined arms and the little bits of abs he could see through Jonghyun’s loose tank top, Jonghyun didn’t even hesitate to stand up and start dancing with him. Taemin didn’t really leave him much of a choice to be honest, grinding up against him full force, moving his body in such delicious ways that Jonghyun wanted nothing more than to eat him up.
The more they moved together the more the heat built up, until both of them felt like they would burst into flames any second now, so naturally they clawed each other closer, greedily mouthing at every bit of reachable flesh, until finally they reached soft plush lips, sucking and biting softly, tongues mingling but never mixing, like oil and water…beacuse how else does one put out fire than with water?

'Stay With Me' - Rizzles Fanfiction
Based on the song 'Stay With Me' by Sam Smith. As soon as I heard this song I thought of Rizzles straight away and the story sort of took on a mind of it's own. It's a little bit sad at the beginning, but it does have a happy ending. Hope you like it! And it's only a short story this time.
Rating - T (To be on the safe side)
**A/N: I don't own these characters & I haven't edited it so all mistakes are mine**
Panting, Jane fell back on the bed, her arm over her eyes as she caught her breath, her body still recovering from the pure bliss that had just been given to her. Chewing on her bottom lip, Jane arched her back as she felt lips trailing back up her body, placing soft kisses around her stomach, chest, and neck before a single kiss was placed on her lips. Smiling slightly, Jane kept her eyes closed as she wanted to keep this feeling as long as possible. But it was interrupted as she felt the bed shift as the girl rolled over and sat on the opposite edge of the bed, pushing her light brunette curls down her sweaty shoulders. Opening her eyes, Jane studying the girl as she grabbed her bra and underwear from the floor and silently began putting them on her body. Words weren’t said because neither girl were sure what to say. Swallowing, Jane felt a lump form in her throat and a heaviness envelope her stomach. She hated this feeling.
‘Guess it’s true, I’m not good at a one-night stand
But I still need love ‘cause I’m just a man’
Removing her arm from her forehead, Jane reached out and lightly touched the woman’s exposed lower back, tracing small patterns there. The woman turned her head slightly, just enough to look over her shoulder, and gave a soft smile, her lips full and bruised as she chewed on her bottom lip, as if she was trying to work something out in her head. Jane let her eyes trace up the woman’s body before her gaze settled in deep hazel eyes. She was beautiful, and Jane could feel her heart thump a little bit faster. Shuffling slightly, Jane went to get a better angle to touch the woman more but paused when the body got off up the bed and bent down to collect her clothes. Jane’s hand fell to the bed as she watched, unable to move.
‘These nights never seem to go to plan
I don’t want you to leave, will you hold my hand?’
Jane flopped her head back down onto the bed as she let out a sigh, her hand running through her unruly hair before she sat up, letting the covers pool around her hips as she watched the woman slipping back into her dress, flicking her hair out the back before she fixed the skin-tight material back onto her body, her eyes watching Jane in the mirror. Jane saw that look again in her eyes, like she wanted to say something but either couldn’t find the words or was contemplating even saying them at all. Jane sat up properly as she brought her thumb to her mouth, biting on her nail softly, her eyes staring straight into the girls reflection. Jane didn’t want her to go.
‘Oh, won’t you stay with me?
‘Cause you’re all I need
This ain’t love, it’s clear to see
But darling, stay with me’
But Jane’s body couldn’t move. She was scared. She had never done this before. She wasn’t the type of person to have one-night stands. But it had happened and she knew that this woman knew what this was too. But she couldn’t help herself from feeling helpless as she saw the woman slip back into her heels. Jane didn’t want this. She didn’t want her to go.
‘Why am I so emotional?
No, it’s not a good look, gain some self-control’
Gathering up the nerve, Jane pulled her covers up to her chest as she struggled her move to the other side of the bed, reaching out to take the woman’s hand, her thumb brushing over her soft skin. She wasn’t sure of the reaction she would get but could feel her pulse rise when the woman turned around, her eyes looking down at their hands before looking back into Jane’s eyes, confused. Jane tugged slightly and pulled the girl closer, looking up at her as she arched her neck and used her free hand to gently pull the girl’s head down so their lips were nearly touching, their breath mingling together. Jane swallowed as she closed her eyes.
‘And deep down I know this never works
But you can lay with me so it doesn’t hurt’
Jane’s eyes squeezed tighter when she felt a kiss on her lips, so soft that it nearly made her heart break. She couldn’t do this. She couldn’t just let her leave. Jane arched her neck further to deepen the kiss but her eyes opened when she got nothing in return and was faced with the woman dressed and nearly out the bedroom door. Jane chewed on her bottom lip, seeing the woman grip the door handle. And then Jane got up the courage. “Maura…” She whispered. At first she didn’t think it had been loud enough but was happy when she saw Maura pause, her head tilted slightly. Gripping the sheets tighter, Jane swallowed. “Stay with me”.
‘Oh won’t you stay with me?
‘Cause you’re all I need
This ain’t love, it’s clear to see…’
Maura smiled to herself as she let go of the door handle and turned to face Jane. There was silence between them for what felt like hours before Maura kicked off her heels again, her eyes watching Jane as she removed her dress and walked back to the bed. Jane had a huge smile on her face as she shuffled back into the bed, resting back on her elbows as she watched Maura crawl onto the bed, settling at Jane’s side, Jane opening the covers to allow her back inside. Jane immediately wrapped her arms around Maura, cradling her head onto the top of Maura’s. Maura smiled as she snuggled into Jane’s side, her head resting perfectly in the crook of Jane’s neck and shoulder, placing soft kisses there before she wrapped her arms around Jane’s stomach. Jane hugged her closer as she felt sleep begin to take her, encouraged but Maura’s even breathing against her skin.
‘…But darling, stay with me’

Rita Ora's "I Will Never Let You Down" as requested by kuleah
-----
Maybe it was the distance. Maybe it was the silence that resounded like a ringing in his ear. Maybe it was the small tingling fear and doubt that was numbing his mind. Either way, he was depressed.
Was depressed the right word to use? Maybe. Maybe not. Whether it was or not, Daniel had enough of it.
Jonghyun has been moping around for the past week ever since he had arrived back home from the filming of Law of the Jungle. He thought that Jonghyun would have attacked him and greeted him with a warm smile like he did in the beginning of the year after he finished shooting in China and after he had finished filming for his movie.
He had been greeted by a warm smile and a tight hug. This time, all he got was a glance and a high five. It hurt.
It wasn't that Daniel was dense. He realized that something was wrong from the moment he stepped through the door. He saw the avoidance of eye contact and how Jonghyun would keep shuffling away. He saw how he kept watching him, but never approached him. He couldn't even keep it in the whole week before he trapped Jonghyun in their room together. It was just his luck that Jonghyun didn't fight him on it.
They sat in silence for a while. No one saying a word. The tension rose and settled and rose again like their breath.
"Tell me," Daniel finally started, "what we're gonna do." It was a statement, almost a plea, but Jonghyun just shrugged his shoulders. Daniel couldn't get mad at him, but he knew that they had to fix their situation, because knowing Jonghyun, h held things to heart too closely.
"I'll make it easy," he started. "We got a lot to lose." Jonghyun looked at him through his bangs, but still made no movement. He looked so depressed in that darkness. Daniel didn't like it. he saw the sunlight trying to shine through the window, so he stood and made his way to the blinds and swiftly opened them, letting the light shine, and momentarily blind Jonghyun. He took the chance and just fell over into Jonghyun, giving him a tight embrace.
"You've been sick and working all week and you've been doing just fine." It was a whisper, but it was a start. Daniel laid his head on his shoulder and listened. "I've been tired of just watching you." He thought back to the week. Daniel had only been through the door for less than an hour before he was back out and in the practice room and to meetings. He saw how he had gotten sick, how he hid his medicine from the manager, and how even though he should have been exhausted, there Daniel always was: working, singing, dancing, and smiling. It worried him to no end, and it drained him.
"You just forgot to have a good time." He turned his head to Daniel, smile dancing upon his thick lips. "I signed up for this life. I love what I do. That's how I can just go on like everything is always good even when it's not. You need to be here for you and have fun." He hugged Jonghyun close, burying his face in Jonghyun's neck. "I always have a lot of large spaces for you with me, but you never keep it real." With a tight squeeze, he sighed. "I know exactly how you feel."
Daniel has been through the same conflict of emotions before, but after always seeing Jonghyun smile and laugh, he learned to smile with him. He learned to run with him and dance alongside him instead of worrying over him in a corner. He learned that in order for him to take good care for his baby, he had to take care of himself too. It took two to achieve peace.
"When you say you've had enough, and you might just give it up," Daniel spoke quietly, and Jonghyun listened. He wrapped his arms around Daniel and laid his head atop Niel's.
Weeks after, his words still echoed through Jonghyun's head. Wether he was Jonghyun or Changjo, he knew Niel and Daniel was right next to him. He remembered to smile more. He wouldn't ever forget what Daniel promised him, and eve though he didn't say it out loud, he promised the same.
"Just remember that I will never let you down."

you're insecure, don't know what for - Blaine is feeling insecure thanks to Miss July. Kurt helps him feel a little bit better.
warnings for: talk of weight
It started with Miss July. His first day in her class and she was yelling at him to stop eating and lose the baby weight, that it wasn’t attractive to still have a tummy this long after having a baby. He’d never had a baby. Logically, Blaine knew that she was just being mean, Rachel had given him the gritty details and a pep talk letting him know that it would be okay. So far it wasn’t.
A month and half later, and Miss July was still on him about his weight. The stress had caused him to eat more, making him gain more weight despite the hours and hours of vigorous dancing he did all week. And it looked like tonight was going to be more of the same.
Rachel and Santana were working late at the diner, and Kurt was back working at Vogue.com, which meant he wouldn’t be home until after six. A glance at the clock told him that it was only 4:30, so after a quick shower, he’d order dinner.
The Chinese food arrived at 6:05, giving Blaine a small window of time to set out the containers and find some chopsticks in the junk drawer because they forgot to put some in the bag.
By 6:30, he was getting antsy. Kurt wasn’t home yet, and even if there was delays on the subway, he should have been home.
Half an hour later and Blaine was calling Kurt. No answer. He left a voicemail, letting him know he was getting worried before hanging up and deciding to eat on his own. No use in letting the food go to waste. A quick nuke in the microwave and Blaine was lazily strewn out across the couch and plucking noodles from the chow mein container while he watched a rerun of Cupcake Wars.
Two hours later and Blaine was sprawled out on the couch, poking at his tummy while he cried. That was how Kurt found him, and after kicking the four empty Chinese containers to the side, he sat on the edge of the couch.
“Baby, are you alright?”
“I’m fat!” Blaine wailed, crying harder.
Kurt leaned forward and hauled Blaine up into his arms, holding him close as he cried. “You are not fat, B. You’re perfect just the way you are.” He murmured in his ear over and over.
Finally, Blaine’s sobs quieted down and Kurt pulled back to look at his finace. “What on earth brought this on, Honey B?”
‘Miss July.” He mumbled, not looking at Kurt.
Kurt sighed. “You can’t let her get to you, baby. She’s doing it on purpose.”
“I’ve gained weight.”
“What?”
“Since I started at NYADA, I’ve gained weight. My tummy is pudgier and I have, like, twenty chins now.” Tears welled up in Blaine’s eyes and Kurt wrapped him in his arms again.
“I don’t care. You shouldn’t care. What Cassie says doesn’t matter, baby, she’s just trying to test you, see if you’re really NYADA material. And I admit that her methods are very toxic to the well being of the students, but I think in the end, you’ll be better for it. Rachel came out stronger and so will you.” Kurt kissed Blaine’s temple. “Now, what do you say we clean up and then go to bed?”
Blaine nodded, still not fully believing Kurt, as his cheeks colored. “I’m sorry I ate so much of dinner, you’re probably hungry.”
“I’m fine, I ate at the office.”
“Oh,” Blaine said, simply. “Why were you there so late?
“Isabelle was frantic about some of the page’s layouts for the issue, and I offered to stay and help her. Turns out that means she locks us in the conference room, makes us turn off our phones until it’s done.”
“Wow. At least you got it done, though, right?”
“Right.” Kurt smiled, standing up. “Go get in bed, I’ll clean up.”
“Kurt-”
“No, I don’t want to hear it, go.” He pointed towards their room.
Smiling fondly, Blaine got up and padded across the loft. As he crawled onto the bed, he caught sight of himself in the mirror that was propped up in the corner and frowned. His old McKinley P.E. shirt was stretched taut across his stomach, the pudge there much worse than it had been when he first moved to New York. He sat back on his heels and frowned at his reflection. Poking at his tummy, he watched the fabric of his shirt indent and then recover. If he had abs, that wouldn’t happen. Tears began to well up in his eyes again.
Suddenly, the bed dipped behind him and arms were wrapped around his middle. “You wanna know what I see when I look at you?” Blaine shook his head. “Shush, yes you do.”
That made Blaine huff out a small laugh despite himself. He was scared to know what Kurt saw, but he’d listen. He’d always listen.
“I see my fiance, I see a very attractive man. I also see my future, my past, and my present.” Kurt paused and hooked his chin over Blaine’s shoulder. “I see the person who brought light into my darkest days, I see the father of my future children, and I see the one person who I let see me at my most vulnerable - when I’m naked and splayed out.”
Blaine blinked away tears as he listened to Kurt talk. He always knew just what to say to make Blaine feel better, and now was no exception. Except, there was still that nagging voice in the back of his mind. “But what if I get even more fat? Will you still love me then?”
“Oh, B. I’ll love you even if you weigh four hundred pounds because I fell in love with this,” He brought his hand up to rest over Blaine’s heart. “Not the number on the scale. I fell in love you as a person, and I will always love you.”
Blaine turned around and nuzzled himself into Kurt’s embrace. “I love you, too.”
“Let me get changed and then we can cuddle the rest of the night, okay?”
Nodding, Blaine untangled himself from Kurt and moved to the top of the bed. He wiggled under the covers and made himself comfy while he watched Kurt strip off his office attire and pull on an old Hummel Tires and Lube t-shirt. Once Kurt was safely under the blankets with him, he wormed his way back onto his arms.
“I know these feelings aren’t going to go away over night, Blaine,” Kurt murmured into the top of his head, where he was resting. “But I’m going to do all I can to help you realize tha I love you just the way you are, and that my opinion is the only one that matters. Miss July’s doesn’t matter, neither does Rachel’s or Santana’s, or even the rest of the world.”
Blaine sniffed and wrapped himself tighter around Kurt, knowing that every word his fiance said was true.

metanoia
Fandom: Vanitas no shuki Pairing: Vanoé/Vannoé/Noévani  Rating: Teen and up Words: ~580
Notes: For Vanoé Week Day 1 Demon // Angel!! I chose “Angel”
Summary:  Noé is there the day Vanitas gets cast out of Heaven.
Metanoia, from the greek μετάνοια, means a change of heart, a spiritual conversion, but also repentance, regrets and the essence of transformation.
Read on ao3
Noé is there the day Vanitas gets cast out of Heaven.
The sentence drops like a guillotine, aiming to behead, to shun, to ruin. Anger rises in Noé's chest, a cry of protest spilling out his lips. It gets lost in the commotion the ruling caused among the Angels assembled in the palace and Dominique tugs firmly at his sleeve, chastising him with her stare. Not now, her eyes say. Do not get involved.
Vanitas holds his head high, expression proud and defiant. "If the will of God is to cast away innocent servants in order to protect His kingdom from a plague that still rage from within, who am I to oppose Him?"
His words raise some anxious murmurs in the crowd. Noé scrunches his nose. What does he mean?
"Enough. The will of God is not up for debate." Lord Ruthven's voice rolls in the hall like thunder, effectively silencing the whispers before they could grow into rumors. He's standing near the door, hands resting on his staff, the regal image composure has against chaos. He nods at the executioners. "Please proceed."
A dozen Angels in dark robes make their way up to Vanitas, unsheathing their holy blades. The metal of their swords reflects the light, a dark obsidian metal forged in the deepest circles of Hell made to severe bone and holiness alike, the only thing able to cut an Angel's wings.
I want to know.
Noé's feet move faster than his thoughts. He feels Dominique's hand skim his sleeve and hear several exclamations of surprise and next thing he knows he's standing between Vanitas and his bourreaux.
He takes a deep breath. He's doing what is rightful. "This man is innocent."
Vanitas' eyes flash darkly. "I am not!"
Noé ignores him, turning to Ruthven. "He is not the culprit you're looking for."
Ruthven hasn't moved from his position. "Kind words for the guilty will not bring them salvation."
"You're an idiot," Vanitas says between gritted teeth. "You have no idea what you're talking about."
Noé turns around, a finger pointing between Vanitas' eyebrows. "No, you're an idiot. You know you're not guilty, we both know it."
The surprise on Vanitas' features give way to irritation. "I did not ask you to intervene. This does not concern you."
"I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing it for me."
"Hah?"
Ruthven clears his throat. "Noé Archiviste. Step away now or commit the sin of allying yourself with a sinner."
Noé doesn't move an inch, holding his stare.
"Noé," Vanitas hisses, "move."
He remains as still as a statue.
Ruthven sighs and shake his head. "Fine."
At this moment, Noé locks eyes with Dominique. She has made her way to the front of the crowd and her expression is one halfway between panic and despair. Don't do this, she mouths. Please. Noé smiles softly. "I'm sorry," he murmurs. "I must."
"Fall. And repent."
Noé doesn't hesitate. He grabs Vanitas, earning himself a small noise of protest from the latter, and jump high above the executioners, too quick for them to react. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Dominique has taken the opportunity to run in front of Ruthven, distracting him just long enough to allow them to crash through the doors of Heaven and into the night down below.
The moon shines above their heads as they fall, fallen Angels who fell not in Heaven nor in Hell but somewhere in between.

11. Collarbone kiss
He looked so beautiful laying there, eyes closed, breathing softly. Jinki sighed happily to himself, gazing lovingly at his boyfriend of two years, wondering how he got so lucky to be with someone so amazing (he also thought he was smokin’ hot but that’s beside the point).
Jinki found his eyes wandering from Minho’s silky black locks (which he’d finally decided to let grow out a bit and it totally wasn’t because he knew Jinki loved to pull his hair when they made love), to his lovely long eyelashes that fluttered just barely noticably as he dreamt, then down to his soft, plush lips, parted slightly as he slept to let in little puffs of air (Jinki resisted kissing him but only just). His gaze then wondered down to Minho’s long neck and his loose teeshirt that was falling off his left shoulder and couldn’t help but notice how absolutely delicious his boyfriend’s collarbones looked in the soft light of dawn.
He tried to resist really he did. Okay, maybe he didn’t try that hard, but still. Jinki leaned over to kiss Minho’s prominant collarbones, his plump lips nibbling gently on the protruding bone, enjoying the soft whine that Minho breathed out, just barely waking up. He kept nibbling and kissing until his boyfriend was nearly fully awake, grinning when Minho asked him why the fuck he’d woken him at this ungodly hour of the morning. Jinki replied by kissing his lips sweetly and smiling at Minho like he was the sun that gave him warmth and light and life.
"I love you~"
"I love you too but can I please go back to sleep now?"
Jinki chuckled and ceased his kissing attacks, content to hold his lover in his arms and return to dreamland. His last thought before he drifted off was that asking Minho out that day in the coffee shop had been the best decision he’d ever made.
