Ig I was reading too much into it after all,, still kinda :/ to not include at least one character from the app's breadwinner but eh I'm done making a big deal out of the loading screen
So this has been buzzing in my head for quite sometime for the Nix Hydra and Fictif Characters in a Pokemon Au. So I’m going to match at least, for now, the Love Interests for some of the Stories so far, their own pokemon team they would have.
Carbink (Rock/Fairy)- Relating to the Diamond piece he’s been holding onto for all those years.
Midday Lycanroc (Rock)- Nicky’s favorite animal are dogs and wolves especially so I can honestly seeing Lycanroc being his main partner.
Nickit (Dark)-I could totally see Nicky wanting this guy because it has his name and the exact personality.
Yamper (Electric)- His route always mentions him and the MC having a “Spark” and him giving off electric sensations. Here is that Electricity! Plus, look at him! He’s adorable.
Growlithe (Fire)- Who wouldn’t resist such a loving and loyal guy like this.
Houndour (Fire/Dark)- A stray he found on the street and uses him to intimidate some of the competition. He can be really scary to others but absolutely ADORES Nicky ( and MC eventually ).
Primarnia (Water/Fairy)- Queen of the Stage meets Queen of the Silver Screen! A match made in lights!
Purrloin (Dark) - Her mischievous partner in arms. We all know Celia gives of straight up Cat energy and what a best pokemon to suit that energy then this sneaky Feline. I bet Celia charms the target while Purrloin snatches any valuable goodies.z
Florges (Fairy)- Somewhat relating to the Flower in Celia’s hair, but also she is just a bea
Mega Altaria (Dragon/Fairy) - Another Pokemon that loves being in the limelight. Also picked her because feathers and wings remind me of Celia’s Fur Shaw.
Glameow (Normal) - Unlike Nicky, Celia is a cat person, so why not give her another kitty who has the same glamerous personality as her.
Milotic (Water)- Elegance and alluring beauty, and eyes of mystery.
Rillaboom (Grass)- A Big Muscular Guy that sends Good Vibrations.
Ninjask (Bug/Flying) - Since Miguel likes to travel in the fast lanes, I found out that this is one of the fastest non-legendary Pokemon.
Grovyle (Grass)- Swift and Agile, I can see Miguel using him for when he has to participate in heists.
Ludicolo (Water/Grass)- Just look at him Vibing!! XD
Floatzel (Water)- Fast Swimmer who loves the water. What else can I say.
I actually got into this series because of "The Arcana" (plus romance games don't often let you play as anything other than a female lead), but I found that even though I liked it's potential, it fell short a lot of the time, either romantically or story-wise. I'm obviously disappointed that I can't customize my character's appearence, but I think I'm in the minority with that one. Allow me to list my grievances and nit-picks with the app.
In general--Female routes are short and underdeveloped. I don't even romance women IRL, but this was just sad. Anika, Tess, Valentina, and Celia are the only female love interests to have solo routes while the rest are in one-route stories--and Valentina didn't even get a route before Dorian took over and effectively stopped updating the app!
"Two Against the World"--As much as I love Nicky, this story turned me off as a gay male player. The writing feels female-coded, and no acknowledgement of the stigma of two men being in a relationship in 1920s New York is ever mentioned. It'd make more sense if the setting was INSPIRED by 1920s New York, but in reality was a completely different location--but that wasn't the case. It felt like a big mifire in storytelling.
"Heir to Love & Lies"--I cannot overstate how much of a disappointment this story was. In both Sergio and Chava's route, Chava starts off very friendly and sweet before becoming aggressive and secretive. This doesn't really make any sense since he's your childhood best friend and (spoiler) he doesn't kill La Dama Rosa in either route. Plus in Chava's route, Aurora becomes very cruel and blames us for getting her family (re)involved with the cartel, even though in actuality she involved us--a point Chava tells us to let go, and then we apologize. For what?! And the end of Sergio's route is confusing, as you go through a dream sequence where he either kills you and takes your money or you get him arrested for killing La Dama Rosa. I think it's supposed to represent your fears and mistrust of him and symbolize how you need to let your concerns go if you wanna marry him, but it feels uncomfortable since it's not explained well at all. It felt like we just saw the future and we said "I don't care." Plus he asks us stuff about kids, our wedding, and where we'd live, and he took NONE of my decisions into account for the final chapter.
"Roadkill"--I was SO confused on what was the result of the wish and what wasn't. Did Douglas' wish create werewolves, vampires, and witches along with zombies? Or did they already exist before the zombie wish? If it's the latter, there's no need to involve zombies. Plus Howie's amnesia arc in the last chapter was rushed and unnecessary, while Poe came off as judgmental and snarky and Tess' route was short and rushed.
"Catch Me in Miami"--I couldn't get into Miguel because he was so obviously a bad boy and I don't do bad boys. Maybe if he was more coy about it like Nicky than being obvious about it, I'd be into him.
"For the Love of Gods"--Great potential, but rushed and I DESPISE how we're forced to romance everyone. Why can't I just choose how many people I'm interested in?
"Ghosted"--Probably my least favorite story. Jesse's ghost story does sound interesting, but his personality and how rushed it was ruined it for me.
"Hollywoodland"--Rushed, but it had great potential.
"Snow Falling in Love"--It felt like a waste not to tie this with "Roadkill" due to Sawyer's involvement, and Elise was CRAZY obsessed with us.
"Courting the Crown"--Beautiful Potential, but again, rushed, rushed, rushed.
"The Last Legacy"--Probably the best plot of them all, but Felix and Sage weren't my type physically or personality-wise; I'd rather go for Felix's dads.
I didn't include other stories because they either weren't finished or I didn't complete them.
Listen, Julian and Sage are still very much my comfort characters, but i am doonnneee with the Arcana and Fictif teams.
Every damn day i hear or see something about them pullin some dumb shit n i am over it. Whatever updates i get from here on out are from other fans. I wont be following either official blogs anymore and quite frankly the only reason i keep either game installed is to play old routes that were actually worth the time and money to play.
@thearcanagame @fictifgames please for the love of FUCK can yall get your shit together? You used to make such quality stories and content and now its like youre struggling to remain relevant. 5-chapter, rushed af stories with paid endings are not what i came for. I dont think thats what ANYONE came for. We played these games to enjoy the in-depth stories and well thought-out characters with not only amazing backstories, but engaging routes. And since the separation of Nicky, Celia and Miguel's routes, its like you guys stopped giving a shit about your fanbase.
Like, i get it. Its a company. Its about money. But you DO realize... If you alienate your fans... If you repeatedly disappoint them (Like you HAVE been) You're gonna lose money. And spitting out quantity over quality is gonna bite you in the ass. Hard. Every time. Just something to keep in mind.
Does anybody knows the creator/writer of Two Against The World/Hollywoodland/Catch Me in Miami? Pls, I really need to know. I'm very curious. (Also desperate to know if they wrote smth more about the characters)
@felixescellun wanna add something to the whole Felix's route is about disability. I don't think the writers main purpose was this. I'm going to explain it further more. As you said or some other person in your comment I don't exactly remember, the writers don't really know what to do with him, which is why I doubt they actually planned the routes as they said. This whole stereotyping.....they meant it. They never thought about the fact how's it sow wrong or how they're portraying him. They made his personality like that, then made the whole route like that. Let me explain it a little more. We can see from chapter 1 that the sexualising of him is not as bad as the other episodes, and that he's pretty capable of a lot. But after that, things begin to change. And I think that's bec of the fans. Ppl always sexualise Felix, with all the things you mentioned. And from sage's route, he's also very capable of a lot, it's only in his route. They took things and the joke about Felix being sexualized etc and put it in his route. Which is totally unprofessional. They didn't think that through. That's not how a company should work. And from my understanding.... Anisa could be the best written out of all. You know why? Cause she's the least popular and to them, the least played in their eyes, and it doesn't have much sexualization as Felix and sage's routes. So they never really planned anything! I must say, this is all a tactic to gain some money. Currently now they're almost broke. They made another company take over, and Dorian doesn't seem to have a lot of hype nor gains a lot of money, so it was a deal on both sides. After that, they began posting how things will be better after they hired Dorian (AKA making us feels a little hopeful) which didn't work. Then posted a lot of random posts, so the ppl who put comments that call them out, don't really get a chance when there so knay posts. And it's also to have a better reputation on social media. Meaning possible more players. Then they got the Arcana, which has a lot of more players than fictif and focused on it even tho.... It's already done and fictif aren't. If they displayed a lot of their stuff on their socials,, they get more money. And if their got ppl to be the arcanas or whatever that is, they're proving to people they care about their fans. And they seemed to never care about money back then when they had the full team. I know they said they didn't make Celia have a share amount of episodes bec it won't get as much hype, but hear me out. They canceled tess' route, then they made her brother a story, which have a lot of paid options. Meaning the writers weren't as thrilled writing it, bec it's so messy. The story is lame and the ending is random, and the story is rushed. And it's also part because they never really meant to put Elise there. They got a lot of hate from the story, and barely any money. But then, they did this with Celia. Then almost proceeded to make a Liam story. The same thing. But fortunately, they got a lot of hate and abandoned the project. All of this..... No wonder the team left. Anyways I wonder what's your thoughts on this?
