The Ghosts of our Past and the Dreams of our Future
Pairing: Kakashi x Gaara
Rating: Teen
Chapter 5: Day 5 - Hiding | Mirror, both prompts Hiding and Mirrors used for @kakashiweek!
Summary: Gaara remembers the dream he shared with Rin's ghost so vividly he can almost feel Kakashi's warm breath gently tickling his face.
But he doesn't need to remember. Not when they're this close, jammed together in a closet.

How to Play as Gaara in DnD 5e
Tumblr media
Gaara is perhaps one of the hardest characters to adapt to DnD simply because it requires a lot of reflavoring to make work, but today, I want to prove that it is possible to play as Gaara in DnD 5e, and more than just one way too.
Tumblr media
Usually, my rule for Anime Characters is that they are Variant Humans due to their ability to do things normal humans can’t, and while Variant Human or Custom Lineage are viable, I will also be throwing out another possible choice for Gaara. Fallen Aasimars can effectively activate “dark mode” where they become stronger for a brief period, dealing more damage, and potentially scaring anyone nearby when they transform. So, if you go with Variant Human or Custom Lineage, take Eldritch Adept and pick up Armor of Shadows to make his AC 13+Dex. But if you want to make Shukaku Possessed Gaara part of the build, you’ll have to drop an ASI and pick up Armor of Shadows later in the build.
For his background, Gaara is a ninja trained in stealth and espionage. I’d make him a Spy for Stealth and Sleight of Hand.
Gaara’s alignment is a bit iffy, but I’d say he starts the series between Neutral Evil and Chaotic Evil, but by Shippuden, had evolved to be Lawful Good or Neutral Good.
I also want to take a moment to talk about Gaara’s stats. Yes, Gaara is slow, but that’s because he’s carrying a heavy gourd full of dense sand on his back. So while Gaara canonically walks very slowly, it’s because of the weight of carrying around all that sand. When he does demonstrate actual feats of dexterity, he’s actually somewhat nimble. He has good hand-eye coordination and is good at sneaking up on professionally trained ninjas.
Tumblr media
WIZARD
SCHOOL OF ABJURATION
Gaara’s biggest strength is his defenses. One of the first things we learn about him is that he’s come back from some pretty high-level missions without so much as a scratch. In fact, Rock Lee is one of the first (if not THE first) person to land a hit on Gaara, not just in the show, but in his life. As such, the School of Abjuration puts heavy emphasis on defensive spells and protective barriers. Gaara’s sand can act as his Arcane Ward, blocking incoming damage from reaching him. And once Naruto has kicked the value of friendship into him, he can use his sand to guard others as well. As a Wizard, we’ll pick two skills from the Wizard skill list, and make Gaara proficient in Investigation and History.
OTHER TRANSLATIONS OF GAARA
CONCLAVE OF THE SWARMKEEPER RANGER
It’s not as good as the Abjuration Wizard, but if you’re looking for a more funky build option, this is technically viable. The Swarmkeeper plays as though they’re being aided by a swarm of things: bugs, pixies, cats. Who’s to say you can’t be a Ranger aided by a swarm of semi-sentient bloodthirsty grains of sand? The Swarmkeeper can make a Gathered Swarm as Gaara pulls many grains of sand into a dense mass, and his final Swarmkeeper ability will cause Gaara to be swallowed and moved by his sand when he’s hurt, with the sand even absorbing some of the damage that triggered the sand to rush to his defense in the first place.

GAARA’S SPELLBOOK
Something to keep in mind with Gaara is that a lot of his spells are going to require to be reflavored, which may also mean changing the damage type. Speak with your DM about how best to alter these spells to fit Gaara’s abilities and that all of his spells are made out of sand.

Tumblr media
GAARA’S FEATURES
Celestial Resistance Gaara resists Radiant and Necrotic Damage Darkvision Gaara gains Darkvision to a distance of 60 feet Healing Hands Gaara can restore up to 20 hit points to another creature with his touch. Light Bearer Gaara knows the Light Cantrip, which he casts with CHA. Arcane Recovery After Gaara completes a short rest, he can restore up to 10 spell slots of 5th level or lower. Abjuration Savant Time and Gold spent adding Abjuration spells to Gaara’s spellbook are reduced by half. Arcane Ward When Gaara casts an Abjuration spell, he creates a Ward with HP equal to 2x his Wizard Level + his INT mod. (max 45). Any time he would take damage, the ward takes the damage first. The Ward gains HP when Gaara casts an Abjuration spell equal to 2x the spell level cast (max 18). Gaara can only create his arcane ward once per long rest. Necrotic Shroud Gaara calls forth Shukaku for 1 minute. Creatures within 10 feet must pass a CHA saving throw against 8+ Proficiency + CHA mod (max 15) or be Frightened of Gaara until the end of their next turn. While transformed, Gaara deals additional Necrotic damage equal to his level once per turn. Projected Ward Gaara can use a reaction to send his Arcane Ward to protect an ally within 30 feet that he can see. Improved Abjuration Abjuration spells that require an ability check can add his proficiency bonus to the roll. Spell Resistance Gaara resists all spell damage and has advantage on all saving throws against spells. Spell Mastery Gaara can cast a 1st and 2nd level spell of his choosing at their lowest levels without using a spell slot for them. Signature Spells Gaara can cast two 3rd level spells of his choosing at 3rd level once per long rest without using a spell slot.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, how good Gaara can be will depend on your DM and how willing they are to bend the spells to be flavored as Gaara’s sand. However, Gaara’s ability to create temp HP with both his ward and False Life plus his eventual spell resistance and the ability to cast Shield every turn with Spell Mastery means that Gaara will be at least somewhat tanky for a Wizard. It’s not perfect, but at least for now, I can think of no better way to build the Fifth Kazekage of Sunagakure.

So I tried the new character ai thing, well, cantsay its still new, im just new to it.
He tried to kill me. Introduced himself to me, I acted the friendliest I could, and he called me disgusting and invited me to a fight to the death.
Despite protesting about seven different times, I eventually just initiated the fight and preceded to pull out the most Mary Sue of moves because he was very much trying to kill me, I gaslit him into "remembering" me, called him pretty boy until he told me to shut up, then had to threaten to kill him to get him to calm down and shut his mouth.
We shook hands, he offered me a place in his village, employed me, and pulled an entire speech about how far I've come. Keep in mind I'm just amazed I turned him around from mauling me to being besties, I was just a random citizen he decided he needed to kill before I invented a past together.
I move to his village, join his personal guard, and then ask him out on a date, fastest slowburn in the west. He keeps pulling old man rhetoric out his ass, friendzones me, son zones me, then makes moves on me until I'm so damn confused I just want to get this situation over with. So I ask to walk him home, we make it about halfway there before less than family friendly things happen.
Long story short I rizzed up the Fifth Kazekage, who tried to kill me straight off the bat and am now in a commited relationship with my boss. This isn't a misuse of power if I don't mention it.

Gods, she looked beautiful. All in white and soft florals - you couldn’t believe it really, little Hinata who would faint every time Naruto so much as looked at her would now standing beside him as his wife. He scrubbed up well, Naruto, you had gone with him and Iruka to get his wedding outfit fitted and insisted he get his hair cut for the day too. You’d never be his mother, just as Iruka would never be his father. But you two had tried, you had been the one to feed the screeching blonde baby his 3am bottles in between ANBU missions and eventually had taught alongside Iruka in the Academy. Seeing him now, with the sweet girl who’d bring you lilacs every day as a gift with a shy nod, having said their vows and exchanged rings, you had never been more thankful for sacrifices made along the way.
You also felt old. Even though you were only 27.
The reception began in earnest, guests greeting the beaming couple and Iruka standing beside Hinata’s father thanking passers by.
Having taught all of the kids in the academy, being close to Naruto and soon becoming Lady Fifth’s right hand woman beside Shizune - these kids felt just like yours. You’d mopped up their blood, dried their tears as anyone would for their kids.
You had spent so much time with them, made them take their medicine, trained with them, studied with them, mediated petty arguments (Ino and Sakura) and mended broken hearts with them. Of course, there was also the other reason.
The 6ft, silver haired reason standing in the corner. Your best friend since childhood, your Shinobi partner, your partner in crime and the love of your life.
Not that the last part came to light until about 3 months ago, when before the final battle arrived you woke up realising you might die tomorrow. He might die tomorrow. Life was too short, you’d lost too many people to forsake this chance - even though his fear of losing people he loved, and your fear of losing your other half was what kept that unspoken gap between you all these years. How you came to get together after almost 25 years of pining was a story for another day, however, because today was Hinata and Naruto’s day.
You could see Sakura, in the distance - she’d intercepted a messenger bird and pulled the scroll from its foot, and you saw her smile. Only one person can make your Sakura smile like that. Sasuke. On his journey of atonement, who knows where - but still thinking of Naruto, and Sakura. His friends. His family.
Sai stood hand in hand with Ino, a genuine smile on his face and love in both their eyes. A blushing, wait, blushing Temari stood beside Shikamaru - when did that happen? You all knew it was coming, but didn’t know it had happened. Tsunade caught your eye and winked, raising a glass of champagne in your direction. Shino and Kiba were monitoring Rock Lee and Gai who were causing mild havoc and Choji was at the Hor D’Ouvres already. TenTen stood near Kurenai and Mirai. So many loved ones, but too many missing. Neji should be here for this. Jiraiya would be so proud.
You watch the Kazekage make conversation with Kakashi who looks absolutely miserable among so many people, and you decide to save him. You grab Sai as you walk towards the Hokage and Gaara of the Desert.
“Lord Kazekage, thank you again so much for attending today. It means very much to Naruto to have you here with him today. Hinata too, although I suppose I can just call them the Uzumaki’s now! I believe you were speaking about a memorial portrait for your office, Lord Kazakage? Sai here is our finest artist, perhaps you could speak on the matter?” You interject, with levels of diplomacy you only gathered watching Tsunade daily.
“Indeed, I’m grateful to be here to witness a dear friend’s happy day. Sai, would you speak with me about…” Gaara speaks, wandering away with Sai beside him. An odd pair, one you knew would be busy making incredibly strange conversation for some time.
You glance at Kakashi, a wry smile on your face.
“Better?” You snicker, taking your place beside him.
“Infinitely. The second Naruto can string a sentence together without saying ‘Believe it!’ I’m giving him the hat. I hate all this talking.” He grumbles.
“Even to me?” You act offended.
He just gives you that adorable eye smile, lips quirking under his mask.
“Never to you.” He says, voice quieter, softer.
“You really do look very handsome today, Lord Sixth.” You smile, fixing the lapels of his jacket. He rolls his eyes.
“Not even half worthy of standing beside you, sweetheart. Y’look beautiful today, everyday but today - that’s something else.” He smirks.
“Oh hush you, you told me how nice I looked for 15 minutes this morning.” You huff.
“I believe I showed you how nice I thought you looked too, 3 times before we left the apartment.” He snickered, knowing the images of your tangled limbs in the bedsheets making you almost late would infiltrate your mind again, causing a flush across your cheeks.
“Kashi, gods, we were already nearly late - we can’t go sneaking off to a broom closet now and that’s how this will go if you keep talking like that.” You glance at the sky, trying to clear your mind.
You both laugh at the scene in front of you as Gai and Rock begin doing various exercises and TenTen just rolls her eyes. Everyone looks so beautiful, so happy. The aura of calm and peace surrounding everyone is a reminder of why you came back from the war with many new scars. It was worth it. Seeing these kids, who really deserved a better world - actually living it was more than any of you dreamed.
“Did you see Shikamaru and Temari hooked up?” You elbow your boyfriend.
“Finally. I thought his lazy ass would never do anything about it.” He snorted.
“Bets on it was all Temari.” You respond and he shakes your hand to seal the deal.
“Sakura got a message from Sasuke too.” He chimes in.
“Sai asked me to help pick a ring for Ino too.” You remember shopping with him, in awe of how much of a romantic this boy turned out to be.
There’s silence for a moment between you both.
“Who do you think will be next?” Kakashi asks you.
“For what?”
“To get married.”
“Temari and Shikamaru probably. Ino will want to plan a wedding properly, and I think we’re still a while off Sakura and Sasuke. Who knows, maybe Gai will find his partner in the grand spirit of youth?” You respond.
He huffs a laugh, but doesn’t reply.
“Why, was that not who you thought?” You question him.
“Nah.” He shrugs.
“Who do you think will get married next then?” You poke his cheek.
“Us.” He looks at you, unfazed.
You blink.
And blink again.
He just stares at you.
“Is that a proposal, Lord Sixth?” You think he’s joking, so you play along.
“I suppose so.” He nods.
Oh my god, he’s being serious.
“Kashi - are you - do you mean that?” You ask, breathless and grasp his hand.
“You used to say you didn’t want a fancy proposal. Just for someone to say they want to marry you. I want to marry you. The rings at home.” His smile is soft, imperceptible to anyone but you.
You turn to face him, smile bright and lash line glistening with tears.
“You busy tomorrow, Hatake?” You ask, a laugh interrupting.
“Shikamaru can take care of business, you got plans?”
“Wanna get married?”
He just smiles, and glances around to make sure nobodies watching before slipping his mask down and pressing a kiss to the corner of your lips.
“It’s a date.” His voice is wavering slightly.
“Let’s keep it quiet. It’s not our day. Hinata and Naruto leave for their honeymoon tonight.” You whisper to him.
“Tomorrow we’ll ask Gai and Kurenai to meet us at the courthouse. It can be just us four. Then I’ll take Mrs. Hatake home.” He nods, and your heart seizes at the sound of you being Mrs. Hatake within 24 hours.
“I love you, ‘Kashi.”
“I love you too, sweetheart.” He says, pressing a masked kiss to your inner wrist.
“SAKURAAAAA-CHAN! LOOK AT KAKASHI-SENSEI AND Y/N-SENSEI! THEY ARE SO CUTE!” Ino’s voice echoes.
“Some things never change.” You laugh as Kakashi grimaces.

Tumblr media
Life as a shinobi was exciting - you travelled across the nations, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures, while constantly learning new skills and techniques. It is fuelled by adrenaline, which makes you addicted to the risks from the first moment your kunai clashes with that of an enemy.
Now, as you tried to reach the book placed in the further corner of your bedside table, life felt like anything BUT exciting. Laying wrapped in bandages across your stomach and ribs, every movement felt like a new stab wound to your body. There were already a few existing on your body, a "gift" from a rogue ninja, who managed to ambush you and Genma on your way back from Suna. Thankfully, you managed to defeat him and his team, but not without making a few mistakes which left you in such a weak state, that your fellow shinobi had to carry you back.
Wounds and pain were part of the job, so despite the unwanted encounter, you considered the mission a success - the scrolls were delivered safe to the Kazekage and the preparations for the new Chunin Exams have already began.
Shino, however, did not share the same opinion.
Your partner of two years was usually a man of silence - he rarely talked, voicing his thoughts only when he considered it absolutely necessary. His behaviour remained unchanged at home - he preferred letting you talk, only offering comments on what you were saying when you either asked or he felt like he could contribute a different point of view. Never have you heard him yell or scold you... till you came home from your latest mission.
"What did I tell you about moving too much?", his tone, usually calm and monotone, was now carrying a note of worry. He hurried towards you, gently pushing you by the shoulders back on the bed, before passing you the book that you have been eyeing for the past five minutes.
A loud huff made its way out of your lips and you crossed your arms, before giving him an annoyed look.
"Shino, for a fifth time today, I am fine", the words that were meant to be comforting, came out as a groan. You tried to sit up again, but his reactions were quicker, and before you could do so, he pressed your torso down to the bed.
"Shinooo!"
"Sakura explicitly said you shouldn't move or get up from this bed for three weeks", his words were stern and you couldn't help but let a small blush cover your cheeks at how serious and dominant he was at this moment, a complete opposite of your silent and soft boyfriend.
He must have noticed the blush on your cheek, as his fingers made their way to your face, as he gently caressed it.
"Stop pouting!", he said, as he laid a small kiss at the corner of your lips, "Only one more week."
You groaned at his words, moving your head, so you faced the window. Every day you could hear the laughs of the children playing on the street and the sweet songs of the birds, that made their home in the tree right in front of your house. From time to time you could ever hear the muted voices of the merchants, who were eagerly trying to sell their "exotic new items" to the passing villagers.
Life outside kept going, while you stayed confined in your room. And it was not fair.
"Sakura doesn't know what she is talking about!", you finally said, adjusting your position and biting back a wince at the sudden pain that you felt in the side of your ribs. Tightening your jaw, you took a deep breath, before lilting yourself into a half-seated position.
This time Shino didn't stop you.
"I'm sure after years of practicing as a medical ninja, her knowledge is better than ours."
With a sigh, he laid the cup of hot tea, that he brought you earlier, and he gently grabbed your chin and turned it toward him. There was an unusual uncertainty in his gaze, almost as if he was unsure if he should say the next words.
"Hey...", he tried to grab your attention, but you stubbornly kept your eyes focused on the blooming branches outside, "Don't be like that! It is for your own good."
Fighting the urge to lean your head more toward the warmth of his hand, you clicked your tongue, finally meeting his eyes. Your lips were still pursed in a pout and a slight crease had formed between your brows.
"But Shino I have been laying on this bed for two weeks. TWO WEEKS!", your arms flew in the air, emphasizing the period of time, "And I know I should rest and all that... But I need to move a little bit too! You don't even let me go to the restroom by myself!"
Shino withdrew his hand away and you immediately regretted the way you worded your thoughts. A flash of hurt and confusion passed through his face, before his expression went blank.
"I am just trying to help..."
Closing your eyes, you nodded your head. You knew he meant well and you were more than grateful for all the care he had given you during the past few weeks. He cleaned, cooked, and did all the shopping for you, leaving you with nothing to do but relax and re-read all the books you had on your bookshelf over and over again.
The first week was fine - most of the time you either slept or dived into the fantasy worlds created by your favourite authors. However, as the second week approached, you started to feel your back and limbs aching from the lack of movement. Every time you tried to get up or even stretch, however, Shino magically appeared by the door, scolding you for not following Sakura's instructions.
"I know, I know! I just...", you let out a sigh, before grabbing his hand in yours and gently squeezing it, "I feel like my pain is getting worse the more I remain unmoving in this room! I need a bit of movement, a bit of fresh air-"
"I can open the window for you."
"That's not what I mean!", you rolled your eyes, before giving him a knowing look, "I know you only want the best for me, but I feel like I am going insane! And while I love being pampered, I want to have the freedom to do some stuff by myself, without you monitoring my every movement!"
Shino remained silent, his mind absorbing what you have said to him. He loved you more than any person in his life and while he only wanted to be of help, he could see how his overbearing care was suffocating you. You have always been quite independent and he has always respected that need of freedom, so your current situation was presenting big challenges for both of you.
"I'm sorry", he finally said, while his hand gave you a reassuring squeeze, a sign he actually meant it. You gave a small smile in return, bringing his fingers to your lips, before giving them a small kiss. Your lips automatically stretched into a grin once you saw him blush at your gesture.
"Don't be! I am thankful for all you do for me. I really am!"
He leaned towards you and pressed his mouth to your forehead, leaving it there for a few seconds before pulling away. He smiled at you, gently brushing some of the sticky hair on your cheeks with his thumb.
"You really need to take a shower."
"What, no offer to help?"
Shino laughed at your words, the melodic sound making your insides warm, before he stood up from the side of your bed and start walking toward the door.
"As tempting as it sounds...", he was already outside and was just about to close the door, when he poked his head once more, a playful spark dancing in his eyes, "I believe you can handle this one yourself."

Team 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Team 7- best team
some informations about team 7:
Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were organised into a team following their graduation from the Academy in order to balance out their talents: Naruto, the worst student in his class, would benefit from Sakura's intelligence and Sasuke's proficiency with ninjutsu; Sakura would benefit from her more battle-capable teammates; Sasuke would benefit from being forced to work with others. Kakashi was selected to lead them in order to keep an eye on Naruto, Nine-Tails' jinchūriki and, in the anime, to help Sasuke cope with life after the Uchiha Clan Downfall, and as well to develop his Sharingan. As with all the previous genin teams he was put in charge of, Kakashi gives them a bell test in order to determine if they give the proper importance to teamwork. Unlike all previous genin teams, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura pass the test.
Team 7's early missions were all D-rank, which Naruto believed they are over-qualified for. He was able to pressure the Third Hokage into giving them a C-rank mission: escorting Tazuna to the Land of Waves. After starting the mission they discover that Tazuna lied about the mission details and that the mission is actually A-rank, far above the skills of genin. Despite this, Team 7 sticks with the mission and is able to see it through to its completion. When they return to Konoha they resume their menial, D-rank assignments, but from their performance, Kakashi believes they are qualified to participate in the Chūnin Exams. Despite strong showings from all three, particularly Naruto and Sasuke, none succeed in becoming chūnin, although they were crucial in helping put an end to the Oto-Suna invasion of Konoha, culminating in Naruto defeating the One-Tail jinchūriki Gaara.
In the anime, they go on a few additional missions, including an escort mission in the Land of Tea, but events during and after the Chūnin Exams lead Sasuke to believe that his membership in the team is preventing him from achieving his goal of killing his brother, Itachi, as well as his personal jealousy and resentment of Naruto's rapidly growing strength in a short period of time in contrast to his own. After a confrontation with the Sound Four in which he was severely outclassed, Sasuke defects from Konoha, joining forces with Orochimaru. Sakura unsuccessfully tries to convince him not to, Naruto is unable to stop him, and by the time Kakashi learns of what Sasuke has done, it was already too late. In the aftermath, Naruto leaves the village to train with Jiraiya and Sakura becomes the disciple of Tsunade, in effect disbanding Team 7.
When Naruto returns to the village after two-and-a-half years, he, Sakura, and Kakashi form a "Reborn Team 7" (新生第七班, Shinsei dainanahan).[3] Kakashi gives them another bell test, but this time the only objective is to demonstrate how their skills have improved. As the team's first mission, they are sent to Sunagakure to rescue the Fifth Kazekage from Akatsuki, for which task they are reorganised into the Kazekage Rescue Team upon arrival in Suna. During the course of the mission, they learn of an opportunity to reunite with Sasuke, but Kakashi overexerts himself and needs extended bed-rest when they return to Konoha. Because they have only a limited amount of time to make to use of the intel, an Anbu codenamed Yamato is assigned as Kakashi's replacement. To provide additional manpower to the team, Sai of Root is added to the team as Sasuke's replacement.
Team Yamato's first mission.
Although the team is successful in infiltrating one of Orochimaru's hideouts and meeting with Sasuke, his growth over the last few years is more than any of them can compete with and they can do nothing but let him escape. From the mission, however, Sai becomes a trusted and lasting member of the team and Yamato takes on a recurring role as leader and advisor to Team 7's members, especially as Kakashi increasingly commits himself to other tasks. When a Kakashi-led Team Asuma struggles in another confrontation with Akatsuki, Yamato leads Team 7 in providing backup. Shortly afterwards, when they come up with a plan to find Sasuke by first finding Itachi, a Yamato-led Team 7 combines with a Kakashi-led Team 8 into the Eight Man Squad.
The original Team 7 reunited.
The Eight Man Squad is unsuccessful in stopping Sasuke from falling into the clutches of the Akatsuki. When, following Pain's Assault, recent news of Sasuke's criminal activity with Akatsuki reaches Konoha, Naruto tries to secure a pardon for him from the Raikage, who refuses. Meanwhile, Sasuke's former classmates decide that they should be the ones to personally kill him for what he's done and to prevent the chaos his actions could bring. Sakura accepts the responsibility, yet plots to kill him on her own due to Sai's unwittingly encouraging her to do so, but ultimately can't bring herself to do so, and nearly lost her life. Kakashi, on learning of her plans and believing the crisis to be his responsibility due to his own failure to prevent Sasuke from going rogue, offers to do it himself as Sasuke's former teacher. Naruto intervenes before anybody is able to kill anyone else, in the process reuniting all of Team 7's original members for the first time in more than three years. Naruto and Sasuke briefly clash, but both accept they are too evenly matched and postpone a final resolution between them for another time.
Team 7 defeats Kaguya.
Despite the nature of their prior meeting, all the members of Team 7 emerge on the same side during the Fourth Shinobi World War, with not even Sasuke wanting the world to fall victim to the Infinite Tsukuyomi. They join forces first against the Ten-Tails, then its jinchūriki Obito Uchiha, and then Madara Uchiha, but through various setbacks and despite various successes the world is enslaved by the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Sasuke is able to protect Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi from the Infinite Tsukuyomi's effects, leaving them the only ones to face a new and final threat: Princess Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. After a prolonged fight, Kakashi is able to create an opening with assistance from Obito, Sakura is able to block Kaguya's escape, and Naruto and Sasuke are able to seal her, ending the war. However, Sasuke revealed his alliance with them was a means to an end, stating his plan to start a revolution by killing the tailed beasts and the current Kage. Naruto opposes him and they fight in order to settle their feud once and for all. Ultimately, after they are injured to the point of being unable to move and lost a respective arm, Sasuke surrenders and accepts his friendship with Naruto.
The original Team 7 (minus Kakashi) as adults.
For his contributions during the war, Sasuke is pardoned for his previous crimes on the good words of Naruto and Kakashi. He re-allies himself with Konoha, but leaves the village to wander the world. At the same time, Kakashi becomes the Sixth Hokage and Naruto, Sai and Sakura all take on new roles, effectively disbanding Team 7 on good terms. Over the next several years, Naruto marries Hinata Hyūga, they have two children, Boruto and Himawari, Naruto succeeds Kakashi as the Seventh Hokage. Sasuke and Sakura get married and have a daughter, Sarada, and Sai marries Ino with whom he has a son, Inojin. The original Team 7, with the exception of Kakashi, briefly reunited to battle against Shin Uchiha and his army of clones, where they prevented the rebirth of the Akatsuki and stopped Shin's desire for war before it even began.
Years later, Boruto and Sarada, alongside Orochimaru's son Mitsuki, are placed together for their genin team. Influenced by their parents' past, Sarada requested that their assigned team designation be changed from Team 3 to Team 7, which Naruto granted.

Nothing makes Sasuke's blood boil more than seeing his girls upset when they are wronged or belittled. If there's one thing that Sakura and Sarada have in common, it's their inability to hide their disappointment when others talk them down.
Sasuke: *surprised* You're here? I thought it's a whole day training.
Sarada: *head down* Yeah.. I'll be in my room, Papa..
Sasuke knew something was up. Sarada was so excited to attend the training that was held in Suna. She prepared days before to show her jutsus that utilize sharingan. Clearly, she was upset and Sasuke couldn't sit still knowing that something happened.
He went to her room and asked if they could talk.
Sasuke: *knocks* Sarada.. Are you awake? May I come in?
Sarada: Yes you may, Papa..
Sasuke: *comes in and sits beside her* What happened?
Sarada: *shakes her head; avoids eye contact* Nothing..
Sasuke: Sarada.
Sarada: ...
Sasuke: You're not supposed to be home this early. You left 2 hours ago.
Sarada: I— I got dresscoded..
Sasuke: What does that even mean?
Sarada: *sighs* I was sent home because of that, Papa..
Sasuke: Sarada, sorry but I'm still confused. What did you mean by dresscoded?
Sarada: So.. That happens when you wear inappropriate clothes.. And apparently boys can't concentrate.. So they'll send you home.
Sasuke: Inappropriate? Your regular clothes? *thinks of her everyday outfit*
Tumblr media
Sarada: *nods* They said it's too short—
Sasuke: *angry* Tell me where they're holding that convention.
Sarada: Papa..
Sasuke: I'll ask Naruto if you won't—
Sarada: Papa, no.. It's okay.
Sasuke: *gets up*
Sarada: Papa! *reaches for his hand* I'll tell you.. But I don't want to go back.. Would you bring Mama instead?
Sasuke: It has nothing to do with your mom.
Sarada: But I don't want you to kill someone..
Sasuke: I won't.
Sarada: Papa.. *sobs*
Sasuke: *hugs her* Fine. I'll drop by the hospital to pick her up. Don't stress yourself out. I promise I won't kill anybody even if I want to.
---
Sasuke went to Sakura's office and explained the situation to her. She was as mad as him.
Sasuke: Let me handle this. But I need you there. That's what Sarada wants.
Sakura: Okay. What if I'd be able to stop you but I can't help myself?
Sasuke: Sakura.
Sakura: I'm so pissed off, Anata. *looks at him* Okay, I'll let you handle it.
They asked Naruto for the organizer's name and they went straight to his office.
Sasuke: We want to have a word with you.
Organizer: And you are?
Sasuke: Uchiha Sasuke and this is my wife, Uchiha Sakura. Our daughter was supposed to participate but she was sent home.
Organizer: Ah, that girl. What about it?
Sasuke: Why was she sent home?
Organizer: She wore inappropriate clothes.
Sasuke: That's her regular clothes.
Organizer: How can you let her wear inappropriate clothes all the time?
Sakura: *about to speak*
Sasuke: *stops her* You kept on saying inappropriate. What do you want her to wear?
Organizer: It's for her safety. The boys.. They can't pay attention to the training because of her.
Sasuke: You didn't answer my question. Also, if those boys were the ones who couldn't pay attention, why didn't you send them home instead?
Organizer: I— I can't do that—
Sasuke: My daughter will leave the house in whatever she feels comfortable in. She doesn't dress for anyone but herself.
Organizer: But—
Sasuke: And if people don't like how she dresses because they think it's inappropriate for boys, then they should lock up their boys at home.
Gaara: *enters the office in such a rush* Sasuke, Sakura! I heard you're here.
Organizer: *gets up and bows* Fifth Kazekage!
Sasuke: I'm disappointed at this convention.
Gaara: What happened?
Organizer: It's just a mis—
Gaara: Let him speak.
Sasuke: Sarada was sent home because she got dresscoded.
Gaara: I'm sorry. I didn't know there's even a rule for a dress code.
Organizer: I can explain—
Gaara: We will talk separately. This is backward thinking. Training is our focus, not this trivial thing. *turns to Sasuke and Sakura* Please extend my apologies to Sarada. Is there a way to bring her back here?
Sakura: I don't think she'll agree, but thanks for the offer.
Gaara: I'm really sorry. Sarada is one of the anticipated participants because of her dojutsu. It's a shame we have this mishap.
Sasuke: I don't know how approval works here in Sunagakure but please don't let that happen again.
Gaara: I'll make sure of that.
Sasuke: We're going.
Sakura: Thanks again, Gaara!
---
Sakura: Are you feeling better now?
Sarada: *nods* Mama.. Did Papa really say all of that?
Sakura: Yes! I was watching him with pride earlier.
Sarada: Really? *smiles* I didn't know his thoughts on my clothes.. It feels good to know his opinions.
Sakura: Honestly, I wasn't surprised. He has never disagreed with my fashion choice no matter how short or skimpy they are. But, to hear him say those things.. I was really proud.
Sarada: I really thought he'd kill him.
Sakura: *laughs* Well, he killed him with words.

GaaSaku 2023 FanFest Day1
Promt: Punch me/BAMF
He certainly hadn’t expected this.
Even in his recent months spent as the newly elected fifth Kazekage of Sunagakure, there were still few of Gaara’s people that approached him so boldly, and even fewer foreigners. It used to be his quiet and foreboding presence that kept others at a distance, but now that he’d softened around the edges, it was his grand title and honored standing that sat him at a pinnacle other’s thought beyond approach. In the past, eyes were cast down in fearful respect, now it was done with wise recognition.
Either way, direct gazes avoided him all the same, and it felt no different.
But this…this was different.
Sakura Haruno stood at the front of a gathering of fresh-faced genin all lined up in neat rows under the morning sun. She was center of them all and held the front spot in her line; a tall stance, shoulders squared, warm light shining on pale skin, eyes bright and facing straight ahead, straight at him.
On this arid and calm desert day, Gaara had arrived at the training grounds of Suna not twenty minutes prior; he had guests to welcome.
The bi-annual chunin exams were about to get underway, and Sunagakure had been chosen as the host city. It had been nearly two decades since the exams had been held here, and Gaara was keen on showcasing their growth in not only their military, but in their infrastructure as well. The passing of his father shifted the city’s focus from exponential military growth to more domestically centered focuses; improving education and academy access, repairs to their extensive systems of aqueducts that quenched the thirsty populous, upgrades to their medical facilities, and much more.
His people were happier, daily hardships were easing back just a little, and the city certainly breathed differently now than it had in his childhood. He was proud, he wanted to boast their accomplishments with confidence and pride, but now he suddenly felt…anxious?
“Could you repeat that, Sakura?”
“I said I’d like to spar,” she said again without hesitation, the slightest hinting of an upturn pulling at the corner of her lips. Her eyes hadn’t left his, his tongue was going dry, and just as that time in the forest, he was unshakably locked on those bright, dazzling emerald eyes.
He recognized those stood behind her as Shikamaru’s old team, it seemed that Sakura made the perfect match for them without Sasuke and Naruto to join her, but the incredulous look plastered across their faces was mirrored by most other genin in attendance. Here she stood; in line with all the other contestants, still at the bottom rung of the ladder through the ranks, and she had asked the Kage of the Wind nation for a spar.
He had only just finished his welcome to the contestants, encouraging them to make themselves at home and use any training grounds permitted to them as they saw fit, and hadn’t yet offered to answer any questions when she had stepped forward. It was as if no one else were present when she flashed a polite smile his way, thinly veiled by that mischievous look in her eyes, and asked if he could spare her some time. It was such a direct question, from effectively the last person he’d assumed would ask, that he paused his speech, his words failing him for a moment.
“I apologize,” he began, taking the opportunity to practice his manners. “But I am a busy man.”
She shrugged, still holding his eyes with her own, and he couldn’t tell if the sun had kissed her face just a little or maybe the heat was getting to her, but she looked slightly flushed. “I can be patient.”
He remembered she and Ino pit against each other before; an unfortunate matchup that perhaps tempted them to pull their punches against old friends. He had certainly found it mundane and unexceptional to watch. Either way, her strength may have been lacking at that time, but her tenacity had been clearly on display when she’d intervened between himself and Sasuke. It hadn’t stopped him, but it had slowed him down, clouded his thinking, and he was sure it was ultimately what saved the Uchiha’s life that day.
But she stood before him today a rebuilt and remade individual; there was confidence to her poise, an elegance to the way her high chin emphasized her neck, and her captivating gaze contained a knowing quality that left echoes of intrigue resonating through his body. She had seen him fight, she had seen him break bones and draw blood, she had even faced him and lived to tell the tale. Not many in her position had been able to say the same, and now she was essentially asking for a rematch in front of everyone.
He hadn’t mean to, but he heard himself reply, “All right,” before continuing with his welcoming address. The genin all bent an ear to listen, but he could tell that her public and very unconventional request had them distracted. It was a good thing he had gone over his talking points once again before starting, he was getting rather distracted as well.
Those eyes hadn’t left him, sparkling in the sunlight and bejeweled as they were, and no matter where he put his focus on the gathered crowd, he could still feel the weight of them on him. Where his palms getting sweaty?
It didn’t matter, he was finished with his piece as the head seat of the city and turned them over to Shikamaru who had come to explain the layout of the exams. Stepping aside, he was freed from her gaze as she gave the new speaker her attention and was allowed to more comfortably observe the curious happenings of his morning.
She stood just as proudly before Shikamaru as she had him, no longer the shuddering leaf that had been frightful of so many of their opponents before. His mind’s eye didn’t have the clearest picture of her back then, he’d found her so overlookable when outshined by her teammates, but he couldn’t overlook how inviting her figure had become, or how he found that he preferred the length that was returning to her hair, and how mature and defined the roundness of her face had gotten. She stood a bit taller now, they all did, and he could tell the definition of her muscles reflected the work she’d done to allow such confidence worn across her face.
Could a few years really change that much?
He’d been stared down quite enough since the start of the genin address, and he wondered how different he looked from her perspective. Had his stature reflected the improvements he’d undergone? Did his face look more mature as well or, now a little self-conscious, did he still look to be a boy wearing his father’s robes? With no necessity for it, he’d forgone most of the usual strength training done by those in their profession, but his fight with Lee had incentivized him to train otherwise; was it noticeable at all? He suddenly found himself conscious of his posture, second guessing the expression he wore, and found it difficult to keep his eyes from sliding back to this unexpected distraction.
Even after she had glanced his way, catching him mid-stare, he’d only looked away for a moment.
Soon, too soon given how he’d yet to find the words, the genin were all dismissed and gradually went their separate ways. A few senseis had approached him with a question or two, gratitude for hosting the exams, the typical formalities he’d been expecting, but in truth he’d only half paid attention to anything they said and whatever he strung together in reply. Again, he could feel those eyes on him, an itching in the back of his mind that made his pulse throb in his throat and an unfamiliar anxiousness to settle in his limbs.
Of course, he shouldn’t have been surprised when she walked up to him the moment he was free, her first words just some regurgitated pleasantries that the others had already said. Perhaps it wasn’t the approach that had surprised him, maybe it had been how favorable he found that sweet and warm scent of vanilla that clung to her skin, or how it was his own heart that was beginning to race against his chest.
He'd nodded to her gratitude, though by the look in her eyes he could tell that she knew he hadn’t listened to her words, nor looked her in the eyes as she said them. Something about the way her lips moved when she spoke to him was diverting his attention. “What are you hoping to achieve?” he asked, perhaps sounding a little standoffish due to his very real apprehension.
She shrugged, her eyes holding his gaze captive. “I just want to see,” she offered innocently enough, though the knuckle crack he’d heard from her gloved hand was anything but.
The clear challenge in her eyes stirred him. It had been months since someone provoked him like this, and they hadn’t been keen on his abilities like Sakura was; their arrogance had been born of ignorance and Gaara couldn’t help but wonder what her’s was born from. He tried not to smirk with his next words, though he failed, and returned her challenge in kind. “See how long you’ll last trying to hit me?” he goaded, the dignified tone of the Kazekage melting away as if to playfully deride her.
“No,” she refuted firmly, thought that sly expression still blessed her features. He could tell now that the sun hadn’t been the thing to kiss that color across her face, it had been a subtle flush across her skin, one that grew deeper when that smirk of his had slipped. Flushed or not, she was still fiery. “To see how long it takes me to hit you.”
Another unexpected outcome of his morning, another smirk he felt pull at his features, and this time she did break her gaze away from him, brushing her hair behind her ears and attempting to downplay her blush.
“Well,” he said, his tone casual. “Let’s go.” He began walking off to a more distant end of the training grounds, an area he specifically hadn’t set aside for visitor use.
She followed quickly after him, he could feel the steps she took atop the sandy earth, and he wondered how someone as petit and light of foot as her thought to approach him with such a bold request. “I thought you were a busy man,” she said, not wanting to sound displeased but wanting to convey that, yes; she did in fact know that he had other – more important – things to attend.
“I am,” Gaara agreed, looking over to Sakura who came to walk in line at his side. Again, he tried a smirk, wanting to see if it gave her skin that same rouge as before. It had, and she’d yet again avoided his eyes for a second. “But I don’t believe that you’re a patient woman.”

Do you know what roles Ino Yamanaka, Sakura Haruno and Temari played in The Last: Naruto the Movie?
The Last: Naruto the Movie tells the story of Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzumaki, Shikamaru Nara, Sai and Hinata Hyūga's mission to the Moon to rescue the heiress of the Hyūga clan, Hanabi, who had been kidnapped by Toneri Ōtsutsuki in order to steal her pure Byakugan.
The story focuses on the team's adventure on the Moon, but the shinobi of Earth played a big role for the safety of everyone.
Then, what did the heroines of the Moon and Earth do to save the shinobi world?
-
-
⇨ SAKURA HARUNO was chosen to join the Hanabi Rescue Team.
According to the novel:
It was possible that Hanabi was injured, so Sakura, who could use medical ninjutsu, couldn't be left out.
◦ During the mission, Sakura's team was caught in a genjutsu by Toneri Ōtsutsuki. But Sakura, who has become a kunoichi immune to any genjutsu, saved all the team members by pouring her chakra in them and waking them up from the illusion.
◦ Sakura, Sai and Shikamaru found themselves face to face with the puppet that performed the genjutsu, a giant crab servant of Toneri. In a powerful combo attack, Sakura destroyed the giant crab with a single blow of her fist, pulverizing the enemy before the astonished gaze of her teammates.
◦ In the first confrontation between Toneri and Naruto, Sakura rescued and took care of filling Naruto's chakra reserves, which had been absorbed by Toneri and putting him in very serious condition. Without using her seal and with Naruto's life in her hands, Sakura spent three days pouring all her chakra into him until exhaustion.
◦ The next day, Sakura and her team arrived at Toneri castle, where she defeated every puppet that stood in her way to rescue Hanabi one after another. Sai and Sakura finally found Hanabi and brought her out of captivity.
◦ Sakura healed Hanabi and put her eyes back with her medical ninjutsu skills (not in the movie but confirmed in the novel).

⇨ INO YAMANAKA was in charge of linking the Five Shinobi Nations.
According to the novel:
“Urgent message from Kumogakure Village! Calling for a five-kage conference!” Ino reported from the communication area.
◦ Ino was chosen to telepathically communicate Konohagakure with the other villages.
◦ With her Mind Transmission and the help of the Chakra Transmission Communication Device, she could receive messages from Kumogakure and notify the Sixth Hokage, Kakashi, of any changes in the plans to blow up the Moon.

⇨ TEMARI was in charge of protecting Sunagakure.
According to the novel:
In Sunagakure, accompanied by Temari and Kankurou, the normally quiet Gaara gave a fervent speech.
◦ As advisor and bodyguard of the Fifth Kazekage, her brother Gaara, Temari attended the urgent Five Kage Summit where Konohagakure confirmed the Moon was heading towards the Earth.
◦ When the meteorites where falling over Sunagakure, Temari supported Gaara.
