"I felt like destroying something beautiful"
The ending is perfect. The music, the shot, the colours, the explosions.
The hues of blue and indigo dye the night sky, whilst the two characters hold each other's hands, painting a silhouette on the screen. There is juxtaposition, in which the characters hold hands with so much passion and melancholic compassion whereas the black and blue colours give off a very lonely atmosphere. One which seems to be haunting, sorrowful and rather isolating.
Buildings explode, casting fire into the sky and the two of them stand there watching a mess. Chaos. It is the ultimate destruction internally and externally for the narrator. He watches everything fall apart, yet the person beside him makes it seem sane.
But what I love the most, is the song choice. God, it is perfect. I love the Pixies. But Jesus Christ this is perfect. "Where is my mind?"/ How can a song be so fitting? How can a song describe every emotion I was going through when I saw the film? I don't know.
Anyways, I am Jack's raging boner.

Maybe self-improvement isn’t the answer, maybe self-destruction is the answer.
