absolutely not shipping because it would be gross but do you think robin and max would be friends. and also ops on lumax as a ship.

i am SO sorry i left this in my inbox for like. a month. because i got hit with a lot of shit and i always wanted to give this ask a proper answer and i've just decided there's never gonna be a perfect time SO here goes:

max and robin: GOD yes they would be friends. i feel like they're both kinda desperate for female companionship (max canonically, robin we don't Know but as a lesbian i can guess that she probably doesn't feel fully comfortable with her female peers). i think things may be kind of awkward at first, as they can both be a little abrasive and robin isn't the Best at interacting with younger people, but i feel like they'd probably have a lot of overlapping interests, also i think robin would introduce max to feminist theory and really hone her "of course i support men's rights men's rights to shut the fuck up!" energy into a well-forged weapon

lumax: so here's the thing. lumax is like the Only valid canon ship on the show (not factoring in jopper bc they aren't rly quite canon also they're my parents so they're in a different league). they're really cute! lucas is so genuinely sweet and he cares about max, and max can kind of let her guard down around him, and they're both willing to go to bat (haha) for one another. unlike every other fuckin romantic pairing on the show, they have fun together, and they're actually FRIENDS! they enjoy spending time with one another! they get along!

all this said, max is a lesbian. she just is! i'm sorry, she is! here's the thing, okay? i'm perfectly happy with lumax in the show's canon. i think their relationship feels authentic and appropriate for kids their age, and they're good for each other. lucas is such an angel and i adore him and i could go on about how he's such a good kid and how he's attentive and respectful of her emotions and desires and boundaries and it's adorable... but i simply cannot ignore max's big ole lez vibes! like, girls who want to be dating their boyfriends don't constantly dump their boyfriends on a whim with zero regret! i personally interpret her actions as those of a girl who has a close male friend she really likes, who doesn't quite get that she's allowed to just like him as a friend. i think that she loves lucas, figures that she likes him like a boyfriend, and goes with it because she doesn't know she has any other option. that, or she knows she's gay and is kind of convincing herself that she likes lucas to avoid having to deal with the ramifications of the truth.

anyways though like i know the show isn't gonna go the lesbian max route, and i think lumax is a genuinely sweet ship built on friendship and respect, so i really appreciate and enjoy it despite my own strong feelings on max's orientation <3

why do u think sakura is disliked so much by naruto fans?? like she isnt the only badly written female character of naruto whose abilities arent utilized for most of the series or who has to be rescued by the male characters literally every female character in naruto has that thing going for her. Why only sakura and those neverending and annoying memes about her being "weak" or "useless" or ppl just plain bashing her i just dont get it

hi anon ! im quite new to the naruto fandom so cant exactly pinpoint all of the reasons of the hate she gets (some of which might be reasonable too) but from what ive seen its mostly male fans who seem to hate her alot for which im sure is bc of the following reasons :

1. She doesnt have a character design which can be sexualized by the male audience and doesnt particularly have any “fanservice” moments/outfits in the entire series (as far as im aware). I feel like this is the main reason she is hated but most of men who hate her wont admit it lol. Im fairly certain if they made sakura’s hair longer and gave her big boobs skinny waist look with clothes showing her cleavage etc most of these male fans wouldnt be hating her this much.Theyre just unhappy that shes the main female character of the series but cant even be sexualized by them

2. She doesnt have a personality and abilities which are appealing to most male fans .Sakura isnt a submissive, gentle, shy, quiet girl who keeps her feelings to herself unless the moment requires her to express them for a male character’s love interest.Shes open, brash, short tempered ,talkative and expresses her emotions and feelings freely no matter weather people around her are fine with them or not. If she likes someone she tells them even if she might get rejected and if she dislikes someone she isnt afraid to stand up against them which lot of male fans dont like. Also the fact that shes so physically strong that she can chuck huge boulders around and destroy iron boulders and houses by sheer force of her strength alone when other male characters like naruto need external powers like sage mode/nine tails power etc to do the same feat isnt easily acceptable by them either

3. She’s unnecessarily violent towards other male characters : Okay i myself dont like this aspect of her much either. ik female characters hitting male characters out of nowhere is a running gag in most anime and even though most of the scenes of sakura hitting naruto are actually part of naruto fillers, i still think that unless the male characters are being very shitty/pervy towards a female characters there is no need to have the female characters being violent towards the male characters as a way to show that they are “strong”. Unnecessary violence is unnecessary violence no matter what gender does it so if anyone dislikes anime sakura bc of that i get it

4.She gets in the way of their ship/doesnt end up with the person they wanted her to end up with. Alot of fans who wanted naruto to end up with sakura hate her for choosing sasuke over naruto since naruto was the main hero and he was in love with her for the majority of the series so according to their mentality its the hero would should have “won” the main female character in the end and not the rival .Of course some of them just wanted them to end up together bc naruto was nicer towards her but the former ones hate her more bc of this.Some people who ship sasuke and naruto together hate her bc of the traditional “female character gets in the way of their m/m ship” misogyny since she ended up with sasuke but its not a large number since most of the sns fandom recognizes that it was the fault of heteronormativity not the female character for the endgame pairings. Alot of naruto and hinata shippers hate her bc naruto had more moments and chemistry with sakura than he did with hinata .

5.That fake confession during the 5 kage summit : Idk why people hate her bc of this but alot of people do for some reason bc “she played with naruto’s feelings” etc etc when she was literally guilt tripped into thinking that SHE and naruto’s promise to her was the reason why naruto was making himself suffer bc of sasuke (which wasnt true) and she wanted to stop naruto from endangering himself while running around looking for sasuke.Was her decision stupid?yes was it deserving of hate and as bad as people act like it is?no lol

6.She is underutilized af : I wont say she’s useless but aside from the sasori fight she really does not get to showcase her fighting abilities throughout the rest of the series even when the moment required it or she COULD showcase them.In part one she didnt have much abilities so had to constantly rely on naruto and sasuke to get herself out of danger and in part 2 despite being strong af there still are moments where she could at least attempt to fight back a little but had to again rely on naruto and sasuke again to save her .But that isnt exactly her fault the author just didnt let the female characters shine alot in the series and its more apparent in case of sakura since shes the main female character

I feel like thats pretty much it?i dont agree with 90% of sakura hate tbh it comes from a place of misogyny and bias but some people also just dont like her bc she simply isnt written in a good way and thats fair.

Bad Batch thoughts & predictions Ep 12

Continuing these written reactions/predictions somewhere cause itd be fun I think to see what actually ends up happening and remembering what I thought at the time so im dumping it here, youre welcome. (Feel free to discuss if you want) if you want to keep up with it im gonna be tagging these as #jay rambles about bb

- So I sort of expected it by the end of last episode but it seems like last episode was a start of an episode arc about hera's family, which, for rebel's fans I'm sure it's cool and exciting and maybe answers some questions or will actually show things discussed in rebels maybe, but as someone who hasn't seen rebels yet, I really hope this episode and the next few have more bad batch screentime, cause we were a little robbed last episode lol (but in a way I do still enjoy this stuff too, because im sure when I DO watch rebels it'll make the experience better). -- I'm not disliking this arc or anything, but up to this point we've kind of had almost mandalorian style 'one episode one adventure' sorts of episodes, and personally I really hope we get more of that (which I think we will), because while this is all new content and everything, we all have to admit clone wars had some less interesting filler arcs here and there, and I just hope bb doesn't fall the same way (across all of its seasons, im not very concerned about it so far from what we've seen of season 1) because if there is filler, I'd rather sit through a couple of the one episode stories, rather than a 3-4 episode story that takes nearly a month to get through if im disliking it, mostly for the fact that even if we got those 1 ep fillers, its more stories and more likely I'd like at least one. ---kinda rambling about this unnecessarily atm cause while again right now I think bb is fine, I just want the future to be that way too. - fffff every time I see howzer on screen I think of that fucking audio thats "here comes the boy, hello boy~" and honestly can you blame me he is so precious like ugh I swear dave you better be nice to him -- YOU CAN TELL HE FEELS SO BAD AND GUILTY LIKE IT HURTS - hey admiral can you not be MEAN to howzer when he is trying to be fucking helpful -- ;-; BRO im saying it so much already but I feel so bad for howzer like dude someone help him --- imo it feels like its sort of setting up howzer for something more important in the show kinda, at least for his character. Like we can clearly tell he doesn't really agree with the empire and I think they're going to do something with that. He's probably undercover for someone against the empire but I get the bad feeling they're gonna pull a Fives and have him go against the empire and help everyone else somehow but then he will probably end up dead because we cant have nice things. - hello cross... bet you wont be saved this episode - Ok good, some more bad batch here already. -- ALSO GONKY BEING DEFECTIVE!!!! EVEN GONKY IS DEFECTIVE LIKE BB THATS SO CUTE! - uh, im not the only one getting the leia transmission vibes from hera, right? -- ok, again I haven't seen rebels so I dont know BUT if hera has the ability to talk to bb, couldn't she have done so in rebels? Yeah she's older and im sure better at fighting and defending herself and all that, but wouldn't it still be possible for her to have gotten in some kind of rough situation in Rebels to ask for bb's help again? I super doubt bb made any appearance of any kind in Rebels, so doesn't that imply that she lost communications with them? What happens to bad batch >> - bad batch not wanting to help but because omega really wants to you can see its making hunter soften up and I appreciate it - bruh what??? Taa is dead af, like theres no way the show is gonna pull some magic and be like 'oh yep here he is' thing??? Like this has to be a lie, but even then, what even is the plan here?? Saying "oh hes recovering" well he can't be recovering forever, how does that seem like a good plan to lie about that?? People are gonna find out?? - "Great just what we need" from Wrecker about crosshair MAKES ME ANGRY LIKE??? YES?? DONT BE MAD AT HIM ITS NOT HIS FAULT??? SAVE YOUR FUCKING BOY??? -- oooo then the rest of bb doesn't comment about it literally gsjrkgbdkfbg why do they not care about him???? Like it seems they legitimately dont care about crosshair, even though theyve been together for so long like even before the show came out they

had history together and were all really close. I know people argue "oh well its just difficult to save him and its unrealistic for them right now" but so what? Even if they aren't trying to save him they should at least CARE about him. --- Which is also like the thing with echo and fives!!!! Like Echo didn't seem to care much at all when Rex mentioned fives even a little! Or even about seeing Rex that much!! Dave I'm gonna need some answers my guy, cause you humanized these characters but then you dont make them act that way so like whats up. - Lucky hunters abilities came in handy - Back to crosshair for a second im predicting they 100% arent saving him this season. There was a poster released part way through the season and he's not even on it... makes me so sad. - "I'd do the same for you." ;-; that didnt need to get that deep - CROSSHAIR BETTER NOT START SHIT WITH HOWZER - Howzer helping Hera's parents or at least implying that is good but that also means im right so far and therefore worried >> -- HES GOING TO GET FUCKING CAUGHT I BET TALKING TO THEM LIKE THIS AT SOME POINT AND HOW MUCH DO YOU WANNA BET ITS GONNA BE CROSSHAIR THAT CATCHES HIM --- Cham stfu its literally so obvious that howzer is trying to be genuine, also if he's kind of undercover for him like what the fuck do you expect howzer to do if he has to play along with the empire to keep his cover?? "Won't make that mistake again" Fuck off like honestly. ---- #stopbeingmeantohowzer2021 - "A little help" and the gentle "Hey" ahh love it - I'm really enjoying this whole them fighting in the ships sequence - "Stay here and guard the capitol" SCARES ME -- Please for the love of god bad batch don't get howzer killed --- or plot B Bad batch maybe run into howzer but save him and take him with you at least temporarily ---- oh god.... bb is helping heras parents escape and that means howzers gonna get in trouble.../probably replaced by crosshair - Crosshair is smart but thats also badddd - The scene of howzer and crosshair looking at each other is killing meeeeeeeee - Ohhh is howzer gonna stop them before they go out the door? -- YES HE IS SEE WHAT A GOOD BOY HE IS - (please fucking listen to him I beg) - Aw dude I just had a thought that breaks my heart... howzer cares about his squad and "trying to get through to them" but what if his squad is clones as well and the chips... that hurts me so badly... -- Like we all know howzer is a sweet boy by now but ughhh like the thought that he doesnt want to leave them even though they are doing whats wrong shows just how much he cares and I really hope he doesn't get into trouble because of what he's saying to them, but you know he totally would do it because he seems to care about them so much and :( bad batch more like sad batch --- This is the kind of compassion I wanted from bb for crosshair hunter kind of looks back at howzer as they leave him and I doubt itll mean anything but I really hope that maybe seeing how much howzer cares will make hunter care a little too... - *sigh* howzer is getting left behind by them which we know why but yeah... now he's definitely going to be in trouble... I just hope they don't hurt him... - OH GOD HOWZER BABY DONT -- He's making a speech and I know he's trying to sway them but you know damn well this is gonna go so badly for him because of the chips and crosshair is watching so you know howzer is gonna get fucked here and I know what hes trying for but I really wish he didnt just do that because now its blatantly obvious he's gonna be against them ;-; - Wow ok im kinda shocked people are siding with him (I guess cause theyre not all clones right) but I feel so bad for themmmmm - Crosshair missed multiple shots? Uh what? I didnt think that was possible lol - bb please come back for howzer and the others at some point.... -- I guess maybe if hera's parents are going to organize rebels against the empire maybe they will help them but I somewhat doubt it... - Ok I know that crosshair requesting to hunt them was supposed to be this big moment and all but I

can't help but feel like its a little underwhelming (but dont get me wrong still cool vibes) because he's kind of already been doing that anyway?? Or has tried to several times?? So I don't get why its a big deal, however, I do have a possible prediction: We know that bb got their chips removed, (crosshair doesn't, I know that) and so that eliminates the idea that they will get caught and actually go bad like crosshair, but it does leave a possibility where maybe they get captured and then *pretend* to be bad? And that could lead to a better possibility of helping crosshair (they wont) or maybe howzer and the other rebels or something? Cause I also feel like its significant that they brought up how the war will eventually come to them and bb will be a part of it no matter what eventually, and it makes obvious sense theyd be on the rebels side of it, so maybe something like that goes on, idk.

My story im making up basic plot:

Also sorry if this explained poorly because idk how to explain stuff properly.

An alien ship has landed on earth. Opal, the last of her species, came to earth in hopes of recreating her home. Her former home was destroyed by a plauge, leaving hee the only survivor. She fled to the place she knew the most about: earth. She brings along with her a pack of rapidly multiplying parasitic bugs that latch onto people and destroy their brain until they have no personality. Then, bug shifts their consiousness to the human, basically taking over their body. This also morphs their body and turns them into an alien like Opal. These parasites are like a larval form of what Opal is.

Opal's aim is to turn every parasite into an alien so she won't be alone anymore or smthn idk still workin on that part. Opal came to earth mostly because of her father's fascination with it. Her father even named Opal after "a rock that grows every millions of years on the planet" or smthn idk im not a nerd idk how often opal is formed

So the story starts with the protagonist, Penny, coming across the ship. It has been abandoned at this point. She finds a sort of alien tech that can make her dreamwalk and transform. While the parasite is draining a person of their personality, they also give them horrible nightmares where the parasite attacks them. But if you kill the parasite in the dream, you kill it in real life. Penny figures this out after going into her infected mom's dreams and killing the parasite. She transforms into a magical girl while in the dream to become stronger and able to fight the parasites. Also if she dies in the dream she dies irl so. And since it isnt her dream, she can't control stuff in the dream.

Her mg alt ego is Dream Girl Saturn.

The next day after this, a girl named Olive comes to school. She instantly becomes popular, and Penny gets a huge crush on her. Olive sees that Penny has the mirror that lets her dreamwalk/transform. (Olive is Opal in disguise so thats how she knows what it is.) And confronts her. Penny is forced to tell her, but is confused to how Olive would know any of this. Olive agrees to help her if Penny lets her keep is a secret. So Olive 'helps' Penny by tracking down infected people and getting her to fight the parasite. She goes after the strongest parasites she can find in hopes that one of them will end up killing Penny.

So a bunch of filler stuff and Opal/Olive falls in love with Penny. Penny falls for Opal. Opal decides to tell Penny that she was tricking her. Penny is big mad (still loves her space gf tho, even if she wont admit it). Penny is all the Opal has left, so Opal makes a plan.

The ending is most likely gonna change but here is the first idea. Opal uses this alien tech item thingy that will suck up and combine all the parasites on earth into one big parasite. Opal uses this so she can get them all in one place. Then she and Penny fight them. They almost die and stuff but. But they don't and end up winning. However, Opal's human form gets destroyed. This means that Opal isnt safe among humans. She is only safe in dreams. So Opal puts herself into a coma so that she is able to at least live in her dreams. Penny decided to join Opal and stay with her forever, so she uses the mirror and puts herself in the coma too so they can live in a dream together.

Rockman.EXE Episode 16 Review.

Is this foreshadowing?

Hallelujah!

We start the episode with Netto walking around, completely blindfolded.

Looks like something spontaneus because not even Rockman Knows why is he doing this.

We get a flashback of last episode where Enzan and Blues perform the Program Advance back when Count Elec did his static trick.

Back to Netto’s blindfolded walk, Rockman tries to help him but it only results in this funny scene.

And that is why Rockman is the Navi and not the operator, also, I have to point out the lazy animation, right at the start I can tell the animation for this episode is gonna be low quality.

After Netto falls on his back like a turtle, Rockman reminds him that Meiru and Tohru’s battle is about to start, which was mention in the last episode. The match begins and we see Tohru’s un-official plug-in secuense.

And we get a stand off between Roll and Iceman, who will win?

The first two of many mistakes we will find in this episode.

After the title card appears, we get a description of both challengers. I am loving Roll’s picture.

Followed by.. Tohru’s sad picture.

Again, Tohru?! Does your father hit you or something? Because that’s what everybody’s gonna think when they see your picture!

Mariko-sensei wishes both of them good luck, Masa takes out his special flag, Yaito and Dekao start talking about who will win, and Netto manages to arrive just in time.

Now we start the battle with Roll moving first.

EAT CANDY HEARTS! I dont remember this part from the dub, though.

Iceman avoids her hearts and shoots a snow crystal at her, which she evades gracefully.

Meiru decides to send the Aqua tower battle chip with the same beautiful animation for Roll from episode 8, and Iceman tries to counter it by summoning his ice pillars from episode 6.

This is what happens when two recycled animations collide.

Tohru decides to send the Ice cube or Ice block (Im not sure anymore) and Meiru sends the triple lance chip, which results in a draw.

As everyone is focused on the battle, Netto doesn’t seem too invested for he is busy practicing the Program Advance with Rockman. Hey, his mullet is back! XD

That’s mistake number three.

After this, we cut to the training room where two Net Navis are practicing for their next battles.

The Navis talk about how they are gonna defeat their opponents who are... Bombman and Stoneman? Poor guys.

However, they wont have the chance to even fight them since said Navis suddently appear to take them out.

Let’s cut back to the epic battle that is Roll vs Iceman.

They seem evenly matched and everybody talks about how the battle might end on a tie. They both get up again, as Tohru tells Iceman to prepare to use his Blizzard attack, Meiru sends, what I imagine is another rare chip Yaito gave her, the Cyclone chip.

Which makes Roll start spinning for some reason.

The Cyclone is a variation of the Typhoon virus we saw in the last episode, which might confirm my theory of Virus chips and Battle chips having the same name.

It’s a face off between Iceman’s Blizzard and Roll’s Cyclone!

This literally stops time with everybody, who cares about this match, waiting in suspense.

How will physics play out in this battle?

Like this, the Cyclone returns the blizzard to Iceman who freezes, resulting on the emo looking Tohru losing the battle. Iceman has been ICED!

The battle ends and Tohru congratulates Meiru for her victory. Oh look, Enzan was watching the battle too, does he have anything to say about it?

Or he can just ignore it and focus on these mysterious looking giants on the hallway. To be honest, after seeing Enzan’s giant bodyguards, I don’t find their hight weird at all, maybe that means they’re either Americans or Europeons.

We cut to mistake number four with Roll’s hair gone, as everybody praises Meiru and Tohru for their battle.

Except for Netto who is still doing the Program Advance air training.

Midorikawa announces the next two battles with the two strange operators, one in the main “flower” dome and the other in the “micro” sub dome, for what I can see from these layouts, the crowd is either really tiny or none existing!

Their Navis happen to be Bombman and Stoneman! We get full shots of both Navis resulting on consistant mistake number five, Bombman’s eyes are purple when they are suppoused to be red.

I say consistant since this happens a lot throughout the episode, so I better count this as one.

Midorikawa tells the audience that Bombman and Stoneman’s opponents have not appear yet, resulting in both Navis winning by default.

Its Drill Mach! Not Drillman! There is already a Drillman. EXE

Now that I think about it, how does one trademark their Navi’s Name? Does the internet tell you when a certain name is taken?

Anyway, Bombman and Stoneman win by default and Midorikawa says that they remain unbeaten, this not only confuses Netto, but Mahajarama tells the other World Three operators that they are probably the new Navis sent by Dr.Wily.

After commercials, we see the WWW operators having lunch outside the dome, complaning about these new operators whom they know nothing about. And I’m just focused on the weird hairdo of the little girl running in the background.

Wouldn’t it be akward if Netto just suddenly appear and see them all together like this and accusing them to be the World Three in front of everyone? But Netto is in the training room practicing the program advance with Rockman while blindfolded, however, something seems wrong because after the official animation for the program advance (in a completely different background BTW) Rockman falls backwards.

I’m gonna count that background fail as mistake number six.

Rockman tells Netto that there isn’t enough room, but Netto says that he is just too distracted by Bombman and Stoneman being unbeaten.

I found mistake number seven!

Netto tells Rockman that Higure-san said that all of Bombman and Stoneman’s opponents were attacked before their matches, making both of them very suspicious.

Dekao comes in to tell Netto that the pairings for the upcoming tagged matches are going to be announced. Meanwhile, Higure is trying to get an interview from the huge operators, but they end up destroying his mic leaving him terrified.

Netto and Dekao happend to see this and decide to follow the mysterious netops, who attemp to murder them by throwing them off the second floor.

Okay, there is water below, but turns out Dekao doesn’t know how to swim, and Netto does the mistake of trying to help him from the front.

Which is kind of weird because fat people are suppose to float easily, but it looks like he was just exaggerating since they stop splashing after Saloma appears to help them out.

FYI, when trying to help somebody who is drowning, never aproach from the front! Always grab them from behind or else they will take you down too.

Anyway, Saloma tells them that she is paired up with Dekao and, by the power of super plot conviniense, are gonna fight against Bombman and Stoneman.

Its Bombman, not Bomberman!

I didn’t even now he was in the tournament.

We start the first match of the tag team battles with Saloma’s first plug-in sequence.

Now its time for the mystery operators to plug-in.

HOLY COW, THEY CAN TALK!

We start the battle with Saloma telling Dekao that Woodman will fight Stoneman, so Gutsman charges at Bombman and starts punching him. Woodman uses some vines to inmobilized Stoneman, something I had no idea he could do.

Dekao then sends a Battle Chip to Gutsman which he calls by the wrong name.

This doesn’t do anything to Bombman, and Stoneman frees himself from Woodman’s vines. The two Navis tell their opponents that they will never be able to move them, making Meiru cheer for Dekao for once.

I don’t ship them but this is cute.

Dekao sends the same exact battle chip from before but this time with the right name, so I’m gonna count the scene from before as mistake number eight.

Gutsman uses the Guts Hammer but Bombman blocks it with a barrier, and Woodman summons wood towers only for Stoneman to break them as easy as breaking a toothpick.

During this, Netto tells Yaito that there is something strange going on with the mystery operators since they haven’t move since the battle started, which Miyuki, Enzan and Mahajarama noticed as well.

In fact, Mahajarama uses an insane Alakazam psychic move to prove his theory to the other World Three members.

Mahajarama is a POKEMON! That’s why he can use Teleport! O0O

How can you see that from up there?!

Stoneman and Bombman, with another shot of Bombman’s purple eyes, reveal the identity of the operators before the whole audience.

They are Robots! What is even happening right now?!

Turns out Stoneman and Bombman are completely independant Net Navis, which means that they don’t need operators to battle or plug them in. Which raises the question of how they even manage to enter the tournament in the first place. Maybe the staff is even more incompetant than I thought.

Gutsman and Woodman decide to attack again, but Bombman and Stoneman are just too much for them and end up beating them easily.

Still counting the purple eyes as one.

Gutsman and Woodman are forced to log out, and Bombman and Stoneman declare that Sharkman and Rockman won’t stand a chance, spoiler alert!

The next tag battle is Netto teaming up with Commander Beef, who suddenly appears next to him.

This is followed by Yaito’s remark of the Commander feeling familiar.

Huh, he helped you get rid of the fire viruses back in episode 13, remember?

So Netto ends the episode staring at his future opponents, determined to beat them.

My thoughts?

This episode would feel like a huge filler if it wasn’t because it introduced Bombman and Stoneman, although we already saw them back in episode 14, their names were still a mystery. Anyone who played the game know that Bombman and Stoneman were World Three Navis, but there was no mention of them having operators, so the anime kept it that way by making them the first independant Navis.

The animation for this episode was very low quality since it featured a lot of miscolors and mistakes, shots were reused and others were added, and I’m not talking about the dub, this is to save money in the animation.

If you follow me on Deviantart you would know that I call the art style for this episode “Simple”, because it is usually found in episodes that don’t require a lot of movement and the action sequenses are kinda slow.

An example of this style being used was in episode nine, which also featured some minor animation mistakes.

For the dub version, Roll throwing her hearts at Iceman was cutted for some reason, and for the dialogue change, the scene where Yaito talks about the Commander feeling familiar was changed to her noticing that Masa was gone, which makes more sense since he was sitting above them.

i think i might be in the minority on this one (at least among my circle of lgbt st blogs) but i really just can’t see nancy and robin together. like, okay. they’re both hot. i would perhaps like for them to yell at each other and make out. but i don’t think that a relationship would ever really work. at the very least, i would have to see some kind of interaction between them in canon that isn’t irritated or dismissive, yknow?

so far all we have is that robin thinks nancy is a priss, nancy has (like steve) apparently never noticed or paid attention to robin in school before, and nancy was kind of rude to robin in a group conversation. that’s it! also i don’t think robin would want to date her best friend’s ex. maybe if we see them interact some more in s4 and they seem compatible i could hop on board, but for now, i’m not personally into it.

disclaimer: this is all just my perception and opinion!

okay so basically their whole relationship was like. both of them looking for something specific that they thought the other could give them, but neither was really capable of providing. they don’t want to be with each other, they wanted to be with the idealized concepts of each other that they built up in their heads.

in s1, nancy wanted to have a little fun. she wanted to feel rebellious, sexy, mature, independent. she got what she wanted and realized it wasn’t really what she wanted after all- she wasn’t actually ready to grow up. after s1, she wanted to feel like a normal teenager and she didn’t want to be alone. i think maybe at the core of nancy is this very deep fear of being alone, after losing barb, and it’s what drives her to stay with steve despite not loving him, just as i personally think it’s what drives her to stay with jonathan despite their many issues (but that’s another topic).

so nancy tells herself that she loves steve and wants to be with him, because she likes the way that being with him makes her feel. she feels safe because she isn’t alone. she keeps her sanity because steve is (in her mind and in general perception) as normal as they come, the perfect cool, popular jock. but dating steve is different from dating the cool, popular jock. steve is a real person, with insecurities and emotions of his own, though he maintains the popular jock image so long as he and nancy are together. of course, even dating somebody close to your ideal can’t make your demons disappear, and everything comes bubbling up on halloween, and nancy has to stop lying to steve and to herself. she didn’t want him for who he was. she wanted him for what he did for her and how he made her feel, and that isn’t enough to make yourself love somebody.

this leaves steve. what did he want? what was he looking for in his relationship with nancy? in s1 i think it was pretty simple. nancy’s a nice, smart, pretty girl, so he likes her. steve wants that girl next door. joe keery’s said that nancy is the only person to ever “really listen” to steve, but even just sticking to canon, we see that his friends aren’t empathetic. that’s actually what he points out to tommy and carol as the difference between the two of them and nancy, that nancy cares about people.

now i’ve said on this blog before that nancy is not the most empathetic person. she’s bad at emotions. while she has a strong sense of right and wrong and cares about doing the right thing, she gets caught up in her own goals and often leaves things like patience, empathy, and consideration in the rearview. steve was looking for somebody to care, to listen to him and love him for his true self with no judgments. he was looking for somebody gentle, somebody he could sit and talk with or somebody that he could take dancing to just forget about their troubles for a while. nancy was simply not that person. just as steve is more than the popular jock, she’s far more than the girl next door.

even if nancy did love steve, they probably wouldn’t have worked out. steve is kind of clingy and she’s far more independent. they each thought the other was something that they weren’t, so i think their whole relationship was kind of doomed from the start.
