Here's a commission piece I did for the awesome author Hans_On for her super cool fic "Influence"! It's an actor!Dean/movie producer!Castiel fic, which, as someone who studied and works with film, is freaking fantastic! PostVitam AU

Documentary mini-series are all the rage nowadays, from the true crime highlights to cults (and in some cases, those two categories can even cross over). In an attempt to keep up with modern trends but have an addicting twist, amateur film producer Character A’s new miniseries has been greenlit: a 6 parter featuring the interviews of 12 different individuals who have died for any period of time two days before being interviewed, asking what they saw in the afterlife.

The show was heavily researched, featured scientific evidence for something aligning with a life after death, dozens of consultations with religious representatives, and pathways of the PostVitam (those who have seen the other side). The plans were detailed, written to perfection -- the only thing that was missing were the PostVitams themselves. 

The interview process occurred between October 25th and November 8th, approximately one every day with all happening within 48 hours of the PostVitams' temporary deaths so the memories remained fresh. The first half of the interviews were normal fair and varied drastically from one individual to the next. As expected, it seemed that whatever they had seen must have been a result of their minds experiencing hallucinations from oxygen deprivation or something of the like. The first person to be interviewed on November 1st (Character B), however, marked the beginning of the end.

Every interview after them described the same afterlife experience in eerie, unbelievable detail. As a test, Character A ensures the 3rd and 4th interviewees are separated and have no knowledge of one another before their interview, yet, the results remained impossibly identical. 

Through detailed research, studying recordings, hypnotism, and stepping where they should never have gone, Character A discovers what happened to the world (or really, both the worlds) when Samhain came and went but didn’t reseal the veil.
