A short drabbles about soulmates (and my OCS multiverse lol) based on none of my ships in particular. Enjoy 💜

She's known him for a hundred lives.

Sometimes he's a warrior. Sometimes she's one, too. Or perhaps a lady, waiting for the gentleman of her dreams to sweep her off her feet. In others, they're two strangers sitting on opposite sides of a coffee shop, unaware of the other's existence.

But still, her heart calls his name.

There are times where it takes her a good chunk of her life to find him, and in other- she's known him their whole lives. No matter when she finds him, there is no one else for her once he's around. The rest of her days are spent in his arms.

And whether she dies on a hospital bed; old and gray, or on the field of battle; bloody and broken, she does not fear death:

Because there will always be a next time.

It is never goodbye.

Only a see you again some day.

And perhaps, sometimes, she isn't the one. This isn't her time. Another is there to take her place. The pain will be strong but her heart will go on, because she knows this is not her place. Maybe this time, he gets away; a lover to another, but next time... next time, he will be hers.

So she holds on, even when it seems impossible. When the wait seems endless and the days without him drag like an anchor beneath the ocean floor, she will always hold on.

There's always next time.

People will tell her to move on. Tell him the same too, but they don't know what they do. When your heart only knows one other, everything else feels wrong. They'll keep on waiting. As long is the call is always answered, their devotion is always payed forward.

And maybe you'll never truly understand, what it's like to have your heart call for another.

But their heart call each others name.

That's enough for them.

We didn't start the fire

Firefighter au Finan x Uhtred Sihtric x Teagan(Oc) (Minor relationship) (maybe added haven’t decided) Please let me know your thoughts and any ideas you would love to see! Below the cut is the basic backstory. understanding of this au.

So starting idea backstory. Uhtred's family died in a fire, and he was rescued by Ragnar the elder. Uhtred was put in the care of his uncle - Uhtred kept running away to the firehouse where Ragnar was. Shit happens, Ragnar beats Uhtred’s uncle up and Adopts Uhtred. Ragnar the Elder is like the fire chief, in charge of all the firehouses in Bebbenburg Sigrid is either a nurse or a retired EMT. haven’t decided. Still alive in this Au. Thyra is a nurse Brida is EMT (on-again/off-again relationship with Ragnar) This is where things get tricky do I want Ragnar the younger to have his own firehouse separate from Uhtred ooorrrrr to have Ragnar in charge and Uhtred second in command? Or Start the fic with Uhtred as Ragnar's second and then have Ragnar prompted, so that would leave Uhtred as the new captain of the firehouse. Hild is a retired Firefighter that owns a bar/restaurant that acts as the Firefighter's favorite haunt. Or Beocca???? instead of Hild. Uhtred and his high school girlfriend have a baby Teagan. (Both 18/19) Uhtred has full custody. mother is not in the picture it is not Gisela, Teagan is a junior in high school looking to follow in her family’s trade.  Osferth is a senior in high school. Works at Hild or Beocca’s restaurant. Sihtric is probie a new firefighter, eager to prove himself. (19 or so starting out I think)

Finan is a firefighter in another city, the same as in the books. Finan falls for his brother’s wife the two have an affair either Conall kills his wife by setting a house fire or she just dies in a fire-related accident. Heartbroken Finan leaves the location and moves to Bebbenburg.
