So my thing this year is crossposting Frostmas every 13th of the month bc I like symbolism, lol, and the vibe is very unlucky days haha.

I meant to have this up Saturday but had yet to read through the final scene, and also. The bigger thing. Went to a friend's bday party on the town and had a LOT of drinks and did Karaoke and it was LOTS of fun and I deffs needed it but this led to me spending the 13th on the couch half asleep most of the day, only moving for food and grabbing my joycons for some Stardew Valley 😅😅😅

“Bernard, truly. I was devastated. It took so much courage to do what I did next, with the, the grief I felt! What I had to do next, mind you.”

“Hmm, let me guess! Take Santa’s jacket since nobody else was around to do so?”

“Exactly! It was for the greater good, Bernie! The greater good!”

Reaching the top of the steps, Bernard stopped by the cookies, looking down at Jack as he ran up the stairs to catch up.

“Oh, don’t give me that look, Bernard! The greater good? Have you not been listening? I’m more than happy to tell you my tale of, of woe once more—”

“Something about this is not right.”

Jack paled, watching Bernard turn abruptly on his heel and cross the top landing, heading towards the doors to Santa’s quarters. “No, this is all as it should be! Would you slow down there, Bernard? I can’t keep up with all you elves.” Bernard ignored him. Pushing open the doors, he burst into Santa’s living space, eyes sharp as he looked around at the massive amounts of toys and knick-knacks littering the space. Jack flew in shortly after. “What are you doing?!” "There are so many things wrong with this picture. Right here. This one," Bernard said, stopping his rummaging and framing his view of Jack with his index finger and thumb. A frosty sprite pouted, the red jacket five sizes too big, hanging off of his lanky frame. “No there’s not!” Jack answered a bit too fast. Clearing his throat, he composed himself. “This is all just as it should be. I mean, who better to be the next Santa than me? Why, I herald the season! It makes perfect sense." “No, it does not.” He rummaged through he drawers on Santa’s desk. “This isn't right. A Legendary can't take another Legendary Figure's place!” There was a jingle as Bernard pulled something out of the desk drawer, kicking it shut as he glared at Jack. A small bell sat in his hands, the silver glinting in the light. “I'm calling an emergency Council meeting right this second.” Jack scoffed. “Like that’ll do anything.” Making his way around Bernard, he took a seat at the desk, leaning back and throwing up his feet. “Real confident for someone in your position to say, Jack.” “You mean Santa. I have the jacket now, Bernie! I’m Santa.” “No! Absolutely not! This isn’t right. This can’t be right. The council will know what to do,” he thought out loud, hopping that this wasn’t happening, that this couldn’t be happening, and ringing the bell.

Alice.

One way I experience my gender identity is through the feeling of being a long way from home. My whole life I've yearned to 'go back' to being the real female me. Sometimes the feeling has been overwhelming, other times more subtle, most times somewhere in between.

I've toyed with the idea of transitioning several times over the years, and finally decided that I'm not going to take that step. The reason is that I have established a whole life far away from female me, and uprooting that would come at a personal, social, emotional and relational cost too great to bear.

I'm really enjoying expressing my female self in many ways, and will continue to develop that. While doing so I won't just live with that sense of yearning, I'll own it and try to enjoy that too. I have so much to be thankful for, I've reconciled myself to my decision not to transition, and I won't focus on what I can't have.

Whenever I fully dress up, I truly feel like I'm in Wonderland. But unlike Alice, I don't find it confusing; it makes all the sense in the world to me. And with that in mind, I've decided to adopt the name Alice. I previously went by the name Dani, but, new chapter, new name, and I'll stick with Alice from here on in.

Thank you to all of my friends and followers here, and to those whose blogs I follow for inspiration who don't even know I exist.

Here's to your journey!

hello and welcome!! my scholarship (read: obsessively reblogging things or bookmarking them thinking i'll actually find them again later) tends to be VERY chaotic, but i know there are definitely compilations out there. i've read some great ones.

nini (@scuderiafemboy) has a LOT of lore content on tumblr and twitter & does a lot of translating of dutch interviews/manages to unearth old interviews all the time. the twitter thread of threads covers 2018 through june 2023! she also compiled some of the database on tumblr here.

@chibrary archives interviews, articles, etc., in glorious fashion. this is charles centric but naturally charles' history intersects with max's so there are some good pieces in there, like this 2015 article on the lestappen rivalry in karting. the #driver:max tag provides a lot of golden content (such as extended lore on the inchident!).

the way Daenerys treats Irri in the books is incredibly disturbing and I hate how it's overlooked by both the narrative and the majority of the fandom.

Daenerys uses Irri for sex at least twice over the course of the story, once in Storm and once in Dance. I really, truly cannot overstate how horrific the power imbalance between them is: Daenerys is her khaleesi, her queen and her employer; Irri was formerly a slave in her service and is now her maid with absolutely nowhere else to go. She has evidently been conditioned to believe that displaying absolute obedience to her higher-ups, including sexual services, is her "duty", which Daenerys recognizes and still actively exploits for her own pleasure. This is also why consent between them is utterly impossible – contrary to some asoiaf blogs who claim that consent was not a major issue in this situation (lol) or that Irri freely consented, Irri’s conditioning means that she will never be able to freely consent to someone like Daenerys, who is her employer and holds absolute power over her. Daenerys herself acknowledges this and feels guilty (damning in itself), but ends up using her in such a manner anyway, despite explicitly recognizing that Irri's kisses "tasted of duty" and nothing more.

What makes this even worse is that despite using her in this way in Storm, Daenerys has no issue saying that Irri and Jhiqui (who are her age and have had the same, if not worse, experiences than she has) are "only girls" in comparison to her. She also dismisses their (pretty sensible, imo?) concern about her touching sick and dead people by calling them "utter fools" and saying the Dothraki were only wise when it came to horses. She says all this AFTER sleeping with Irri, which makes it twice as bad - Daenerys considers her a little girl and a fool when it comes to advising her, but still finds it perfectly fine to use her for sex? This condescension extends to their sexual relationship as well, where Daenerys refers to Irri as "the maid", "her handmaid" and "the Dothraki girl" as she has sex with her. It's patronizing, disrespectful and exploitative at best, outright dehumanizing at worst.

While I highly doubt this was Grrm's intention, Daenerys's dynamic with Irri is clearly reminiscent of the horrific way Cersei uses Taena Merryweather. Dany is obviously not as vicious with Irri as Cersei was with Taena but that really doesn't change the fact that she was still a queen exploiting her employee's obedience and conditioned sense of "duty" for her own pleasure, made even worse by the fact that Irri, as a servant and former slave with no family, no connections and nowhere else to go, was 10x more vulnerable than Taena was and certainly more dependent on Dany. It's bizarre how Cersei's treatment of Taena is recognized as fucked up by most of the fandom but Daenerys's treatment of Irri is not, even though the power imbalance between them is infinitely worse. (also: Grrm writing about TWO white queens using their brown maids/ladies-in-waiting for sex is flat-out racist. I'm also extremely uncomfortable with how both wlw interactions are dubiously consensual at best and arguably revolve around Cersei/Dany's relationships with men to some extent: Cersei uses Taena to reenact her trauma by Robert, and Dany not only "pretended it was Drogo holding her...only somehow his face kept turning into Daario's" when she was having sex with Irri, but also explicitly states that "it was Daario she wanted, or perhaps Drogo, not Irri").

Certainly, Daenerys and Irri's dynamic is part and parcel of Grrm's fucked notion of consent and piss-poor writing of wlw relationships (both of which he should be called out for far more than he is, btw), but it doesn't change the fact that in-universe, these are Daenerys's textual actions. Grrm seems to believe that Drogo didn't rape Daenerys (a 13 year old who was forced into marriage) on their wedding night because she said "yes", just like he seems to believe that Jaime didn't coerce Cersei to have sex with him over their own son's dead body because she eventually responded to Jaime's advances, but I clearly recognize them as rape and coercion. The same logic and same standards apply to Daenerys and the way she uses and exploits Irri and she should be judged accordingly.

Or can there be multiple posts of a dog as long as they're different pictures/queued far apart (I've seen a few of those on the blog, but can't tell if it was intentional)? And do you want submissions of previous manga entries once the anime is available?

Keeping it to one picture makes the archive page look good lol. But if you want to send multiple for us to pick from that's more than okay. As far as the same dog being featured multiple times there's a few different reasons that occurs over the years, like early on we did a week of the most popular dogs and an anniversary week. Another case could be it's from a different adaptation/art style/etc. (like Potato being featured both from Air and Kaginado, or Iggy from the TV series and the OVA of JoJo).

And yes! If we've done a manga panel of a dog I really want the anime version when available. I'm counting down the days for when I feature Bond from the SxF anime.

Tragically do be seeing that sort of stuff a lot latekt. If you at all see a male character in a sympathetic light that isn't just arm candy, and don't like the #girlboss character then you are automatically a man somehow, or just a stupid fangirl. Which you know, has some deep flavours of irony considering they care more about fictional depictions of women than letting real women enjoy things the way they like.

An accurate representation of the Alci pout. She is very dramatic, people. If she’s got to suffer, so does Y/N. She’ll say she’s not pissed, but we all know better than that. Constantly fluctuates between insecurity and full out rage. She’s not proud of it, but she has sent her daughters on a few hunts where the targets were women who had been shamelessly flirting with Y/N. Of course, now that Y/N and Alcina are in a committed relationship she is a lot less possessive. As precious and cute as Donna is when she’s giving Y/N the evil eye… Never mind it’s actually pretty terrifying. Listen y'all, it should come as no surprise that Miranda can be fucking scary when she wants to be. She’s also very calculated. She is not necessarily a jealous type, but if she feels, or has evidence, that something that belongs to her (Like Y/N) is trying to be taken away… Let’s just say Miranda is literally an evil genius and the sky is the limit with how horrific she could make the punishment. Just don’t come for Y/N and you won’t have your eyeballs scooped out. Seems like a reasonable request to her.

Bela:

So, Bela likes to think of herself as refined and sophisticated just like her mother. The only problem is that Bela is eternally petty. Like, to the bone. She still brings up the time when Dani borrowed her hairbrush and didn’t put it back in the right spot. (She literally said that she wanted it put back at a crisp 45 degree angle on her dresser. Out of all of the RE8 ladies, Cass is the most physically violent, possessive, territorial, lovesick, etc. You get the picture. Typically, all it takes for a woman who’s flirting with Y/N to back down is a demonstration of how skilled she is with bladed weapons… If that doesn’t work, she can’t be held responsible for what she does next. I could definitely see her parading Y/N around the castle and the village like they’re some sort of prize and telling everybody that Y/N belongs to HER… She warned ya. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dani can’t imagine a world where her and Y/N aren’t together… In fact, she refuses to even entertain the thought. Y/N means everything to her. I think it’s safe to say that she is definitely the most romantic of the sisters, however, she can be a little over the top sometimes. Also, reading these epic romance novels where characters are so in love that it’s literally most of their personality, isn’t really helping the situation. She can go psycho-cuckoo-bananas at the drop of a hat if she sees ANYONE getting too cute and friendly with Y/N. Rest assured, she will bring the drama and intensity if she feels a need to.
