Language is a critically important part of the world-building and puzzle design ethos of Tunic, where information is clearly present, but not always available from the perspective of the player. The constructed alphabet and language of Tunic is not always used exclusively, with certain aspects of vital information like location or item names given to the player in full, and others requiring context clues to decipher, or the necessary understanding that some information will remain hidden. This is even present in the in-game manual, making it as much part of this unique linguistic experience as the rest of it.
