Rey struggles with her role as the last Jedi after the Resistance heroes return to planet Korilev with their stolen Eclipse dreadnought while Kylo returns to Coruscant to plan his next move...

Rey stood on the bridge, her gaze trained on the main viewport. Far beneath them, Resistance members gathered, small as insects, to see the stolen dreadnought. Little did they know their lives were about to be upended again, as Leia had already given the orders to pack up and move out. Rey was so lost in thought, she didn’t hear Finn coming until he was right next to her. “You okay?” he asked, voice full of concern. Rey jumped at the sound of his voice, recovering a second later to answer, “I failed.” She’d failed them. She’d failed everyone, from the migrants on Kuat to their fellow Resistance fighters below. “Hey, don’t say that,” Finn cooed, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Rey felt frail, like she could break apart at any moment. “They know all our tricks. We’ve been fighting this war too long.” “Those people, the children. I saw the hope in their eyes.” Rey swallowed thickly. Hope. That's why Rey wore white. To be a beacon of light in the darkness. To be a Jedi. But those people were counting on her, and she left them there to die. What kind of a Jedi did that make her? “They believe in you. We all do.” Finn smiled at her, trying to be reassuring. All it did was pile on more weight to her already heavy shoulders. A person could collapse under the weight of those expectations. She jerked out from under his arm. “I can’t be who they need me to be. I don't know if I'm strong enough." "That’s not true," insisted Finn. "You know what Leia always says: 'You won’t know how strong you are until you know how strong you have to be'." She took a deep breath, releasing it through her nose. “Finn, the dreams are back. The visions." "Is it... him?" asked Finn, lowering his voice so Poe and Rose couldn't hear him. She had been seeing flashes of dark, disturbing visions, images of places and devices that she had never been or have seen before. All she knew was that Ben... Kylo Ren was involved, and that disturbed her even further. She swallowed, choosing her next words carefully. “There’s… something between us. I can’t explain it.” It had always been that way between her and Kylo Ren. Ben Solo. Something inexplicable and inexorable linked them, much more than just Snoke’s manipulation. They were two sides of the same coin. He had haunted her since their connection through the Force had turned them from bitter enemies to tenuous allies when she had seen a glimpse of the real Ben Solo underneath the mask of Kylo Ren. She had come to the Supremacy to turn him back to the Light, and when he killed his Master Snoke to save her, she thought he did. But he chose to take over the First Order instead as its new Supreme Leader, and they were enemies once again. They had remained connected since then, no matter how much Rey tried to shut him out. It was a connection that troubled her, a tether to the Dark Side that made her constantly question her worthiness as a Jedi. She wished to be free of the connection, but a part of her still believed that Ben Solo could be turned, no matter how much his tyrannical reign as Supreme Leader proved otherwise. Finn gripped the tops of her arms firmly, looking hard into her eyes. “You have to shut him out. He can’t change, it’s too late.” She looked at Finn’s face, so kind and caring despite the First Order’s programming and brutal training. Just like Ben’s face from across the fire after the cave on Ahch-To, came a memory unbidden, but for her was nonetheless sufficient proof for her next words. “It’s never too late to change. You taught me that."

WIP Wednesday

I haven't touched this in a while thanks to craziness at work and migraine and stress and... yeah. But this is what I'm working on.

Poe lay on a bed in one of the bunk rooms, trying hard to not fidget. Three others were sleeping, or trying to sleep, in the same room, and while he knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep, he didn’t want to prevent them from doing so, either.

He lay on his back, hands under his head, fingers laced. For a while he had had one knee up and the ankle of his other leg braced on it, but it had been too hard to keep from bouncing the foot that was in the air, so both feet were on the bed now. His mind would not stay still, either, but at least that wasn’t going to keep anyone awake.

If Rey was here, she would probably tell him to ‘shut up’ his brain, he thought. But if Rey was here, he probably wouldn’t be in this position.

He felt a slight jolt as another bolt from the Supremacy hit its target, but the shields held.

His thoughts ran in circles. Leia, and the fact that she had somehow survived a short jaunt in space a few hours ago, but was now lying comatose in the med bay. Finn and Rose, who had somehow connected and come up with a plan to defeat the Supremacy. A plan that Poe had approved of and then had helped them escape the Raddus unnoticed so they could implement it. Holdo, who he wanted to respect due to her background and her association with Leia, but he just could not trust. And Rey.

Always his mind came back to Rey.

Doing Kissing

Originally written for a kiss prompt on Twitter. thefoxeswedding asked for L3 for gingerrose; L3 was a kiss on the cheek where the recipient looked a bit put out.

The battle was over. They'd won. Despite it all, despite everything that had happened…in the end, Armitage had helped them. Armitage had stepped in and commanded the Resistance fleet and they'd listened and they'd won. He stood there tall and confident, surveying the victory he'd wrought, and Rose's heart pounded. He looked so different from the way he'd looked in the hangar bay of the Supremacy—he'd been cruel then, superior, but now he seemed proud in a different way. Almost before she knew what she was doing she was on her tip-toes, pressing her lips to his cheek.

He made a strange noise.

Oh. Rose had done it again.

She pulled back, and the look on Armitage's face was all she needed to see. It was just like when she'd kissed Finn. She needed to stop doing this. Opening herself to people who didn't want her. It was embarrassing.

"Sorry," she muttered.

Armitage's face was bright red. He touched her arm lightly, then withdrew. "Er," he said awkwardly, and she was going to die right here on the bridge. But: "No," Armitage continued in something of a stammer, "that was…acceptable."

Rose blinked and looked up at him, heart in her throat.

"Do you," Armitage began, then stopped, then started again: "Is this…?" And he bent at the waist and kissed her forehead. Now Rose felt herself flushing. She giggled. "Yes," she said.

Then, emboldened, she grabbed him by his shirt front and kissed him on the mouth.

Armitage could have done anything: stood there stock-still, pushed her away, run off the bridge. But he didn't. Instead, he put his hands on her shoulders and kissed her back.

He was kissing her back.

Rose very nearly swooned at the rush of feeling…and so she only barely heard Poe call out in a friendly voice over the comms, "Hey, did you know you're still holo-projecting?"

Star Wars VIII: Echoes of Chaos Part 1

I really like the idea of Abeloth being the main villain of Star Wars Sequel Trilogy so I decided to run with the concept.

After the Title Crawl that tells us the galaxy is currently in a state of total chaos and of a sickness called ‘Force Madness’ that only effects force sensitives, we see Leia and the Resistance under bombardment by remaining First Order bombers as they try to make sure everyone gets onto the evacuations ships to the Main Cruiser. We see Poe and the other Resistance fighters doing everything in their power to prevent the First Order from gaining more ground.

Eventually, after a space fight, all the Resistance members gather together to convene for a meeting where Leia tells them that with the death of Starkiller Base, the First Order’s power has been severely weakened but they still hold many planets in the Outer Rim and have made alliances with the Hutt Clans and the Black Sun and because of this they will need reinforcements in order to liberate these planets. Poe asks how can they do that if the New Republic is basically dead to which Leia replies that while many of the New Republic’s senators and representatives were dead there were thankfully a few who were off-world at the time including a few of her allies who have convened in the old Senate Building on Coruscant to discuss their next course of action.

On the Resistance Mother Ship, Finn is hearing someone. A woman’s voice. His mother? Before he can truly think about the voice, Poe bursts into his hospital room with BB-8 and is ecstatic he’s alright and that he’s adjusting to the new robotic spine they put in. Robotic spine? Finn sees that yes he now has a robotic spine put into his back before asking Poe where Rey was.

Finally we get to Auch-To where we see Rey handing the lightsaber to Luke who gently grasps it. There’s an unreadable but sorrowful expression on his face as he stares at his father’s lightsaber before he simply shakes his head and let’s the weapon drop and walks away. Rey is confused by this and tries to follow Luke who shuts her out. Rey tries to ask Chewbacca why he’s like this but Chewbacca just shrugs. Chewbacca busts open the door to Luke’s hut where they see him on the ground holding his head with a painful expression on his face. Quickly, the Wookie goes to grab and hug him to try and provide some comfort to him. Luke, realizing who it is, happily hugs Chewbacca back and gives him his condolences about Han’s death before asking who she is. Rey responds with her name and tells him he was sent by his sister to bring him back and to begin her training in the force. Luke bluntly says that he can’t and that she’s better off breaking her connection to force in its entirety. This confuses Rey but Luke refuses to elaborate further before he leaves.

With the First Order we see Kylo Ren fighting and training against the other Knights of Ren as Snoke watches delighted by his aggression and anger. Snoke then tells him that he’s grown stronger by the hate he feels towards Rey defeating them in their last battle and that soon the time will come for the ultimate test of his abilities. Kylo Ren says nothing. Hux walks in and tells them that they have gotten intel that the Resistance is heading for Coruscant and they should cut them off before they’re able to regroup with their allies. Snoke agrees and Hux leaves to give the order. Snoke then turns to Kylo Ren and tells him that when the time comes he will be the one to end the life of his mother, General Organa. There’s some hesitance but Kylo Ren promises he will.

Speaking of General Organa, we finally see her again in her private chambers mourning the loss of her husband and cursing Anakin, her son, and herself for their failures when one of her attendants asks her to come to the bridge. They leave together where Leia is informed that there’s several incoming First Order ships heading there way along with Snoke’s flagship, Supremacy. Quickly, she starts ordering the pilots to their ships while she mans the bridge. Unfortunately, it’s not enough. The Resistance ends up losing after Leia calls everyone back to the Mother Ship. She orders Poe to take any survivors and continue to Coruscant while she sacrifices herself and the main ship. Poe begs her to reconsider but Leia won’t and instead she gives him a holodisk that is to be given to Senator Celchu of New Alderaan and no one else. He’s forced to leave her behind as he orders everyone to flee. Leia stays on the bridge awaiting the arrival of the First Order and lo and behold, it’s Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren. Leia greets her former son with Kylo Ren, hate in her eyes asking if he’s come to kill her too and he says not yet. He then orders her capture and the Knights of Ren try to grab her but she simply ignores as she heads onto the Supremacy.

Back on Auch-To, we see Rey trying to practice with the lightsaber however her technique is sloppy. Luke doing his daily routine tells her that if she continues like this, she’ll take an arm off and he should know. Rey says that she beat Kylo Ren and Luke says that she got lucky and that even in the past he was never good with a lightsaber since he preferred using the Force. Rey is confused by this for a minute and asks what Kylo Ren was like as Ben. Luke gets a sad far away look in his eyes before he simply walks away. Rey is even more confused. We cut to Luke walking into the Millennium Falcon where he summons a hologram of him, Han, Leia, and Ben but also of another woman and boy. They’re all younger and they actually look happy. We hear the distinctive beep of R2-D2, Luke turns around to see R2-D2 rolling over to him with a bunch of happy chirps and beeps and we see Luke smile at him as he bends down to give him a pat on his dome. The Skywalker tells him that’s he sorry he sent him away which R2 seems to acknowledge before he summons the hologram of his sister from all those years ago, Luke looks sad before looking away telling R2 that he can’t leave the planet no matter how much he wants to.

We regroup with the Resistance who made it to Coruscant where they are greeted by Senator Winter Celchu, a childhood friend of Leia’s and her eyes and ears after she was shamed for being the biological daughter of Darth Vader. Poe, remembering Leia’s words hands Winter the holodisk when Poe sees Finn start to become dazed as he begins to grasp his head. Poe calls out to him and Winter looks deeply concerned, like she’s seen something like this before. Finn finally snaps out of it before seeing their expressions and asks if everything is okay but they still look concern and Winter asks if Finn is force sensitive. This confuses Finn and he says no without hesitation. Winter doesn’t exactly look convinced but doesn’t elaborate any further and instead has the remaining group of Resistance members join on a transport she’s arranged to take them to the senate building.

At the Senate Building we see there’s only a handful of senators belonging to the New Republic left who are clearly shaken by the events that surrounded the destruction of the New Republic’s capital. Winter along with Poe and Finn comes to the stage and puts in the Holodisk from General Organa who tells the Senate about the situation they currently face and how they can defeat the weakened First Order. However, Finn has another attack and actually collapses this time. Senator Celchu seeing tells Poe to bring Finn to her office while a strange person watches on.

In her apartment, Finn slowly comes to and muttering about a strange woman’s voice. Poe is confused by Senator Celchu looks terrified that doesn’t go unnoticed. Wanting to seem normal, she tells Finn that she’ll go and fetch him a drink of water with Poe where we find out why Senator Celchu was so disturbed is because she believes Finn is force sensitive and is showing the early signs of Force Madness. Poe asks what Force Madness was and Senator Celchu answers that it’s a type of mental illness that seems to only affect those who are sensitive to the force and that Leia and Luke had nearly succumbed to the effects only for Leia to break off her connection with the force entirely while Luke disappeared. She also mentions that others were not so lucky and were ‘sent away’ to an institution though she doesn’t elaborate on who exactly and there seems to be more to the story. Poe promises that Finn will be fine but Senator Celchu doesn’t seem to believe him.

On Auch-To, we see Luke wake up to a redheaded woman smiling down at him and petting his hair. Luke looks shocked for a moment before saying, ‘Mara?’ The redheaded woman smiles before saying, ‘Come on, Lars is outside and we’ll be heading home soon.’ Luke seems about to go with her before stopping and screaming for her to get out of his head. The redheaded woman’s face turns into a horrifying smile full of razor-sharp teeth and attacks Luke...and he wakes up to see Rey. She’s frustrated with Luke’s refusal to teach her and tries to argue with him, and Luke simply replies that if she feels that way then she should leave and go back to Jakku. This infuriates Rey who runs to other side of the island to practice for herself and prove to Luke she’s serious when she begins to hear a voice. It’s strangely familiar. Compelled, she begins to follow the voice down into a cave where she continues to hear the voice until it leads her to a strange reflective rock that looks like a large mirror. Suddenly, she hears the voice again as two figures start to appear. Who was it? Was it her parents? Something started to come into view. Someone. Rey leans into see more clearly until she sees something that looks like a smile but before she can really decipher what it is, she’s grabbed from behind. It was Luke who drags her out of the cave.

She screams and yells at him saying that she almost saw her parents which Luke bluntly says that no she didn’t and that she was being deceived. She demands answers to which Luke after a bit of hesitation finally relents and takes Rey up to the Altar, the most ancient building on the island where she see a grand mural depicting three figure in white, gray, and black fighting off some kind of demon before a mosaic of the same three beings on the opposite wall. Luke explains that the three on the wall are called the Father, the Son, and the Daughter who represent the Balance, the Dark Side, and the Light Side respectively and were worshipped as gods by the early Jedi before their memory faded into myth and legend before being forgotten altogether. However, he explains there was one more of these god-like creature, the Mother, the Chaos of the Force, called Abeloth. Being the incarnation of Chaos, she was filled with hate and malice and nearly destroyed the universe until the Ones managed to seal her away into the core of Auch-To where she has stayed for millions of years. Rey asks him what this has to do with what she saw and he says that she is on the brink of being released. For 50 years, Abeloth’s seal has been slowly breaking allow more and more of her evil energy to be released into the galaxy until it became so terrible that it single-handedly created Force Madness, a mental illness that his own son and wife were afflicted with until they, along with most of his students, and many other force sensitives had to be institutionalized. Even he wasn’t completely unaffected and would experience terrible nightmares regarding a creature with horrifying smile so he went on a journey to find the source and hopefully a cure for the madness but he ended up finding Auch-To instead where he learned that because his father and master caused the deaths of the Ones in the past, she will not spread her influence any further if he remains to make up for their actions. Rey asks if there’s anything that can stop her and he simply says ‘The powers of a god, maybe.’

Back with the First Order, we see Leia’s cell door open to reveal Kylo Ren with a tray of food which he tries to hand to Leia who coldly rejects it. He says she needs to eat something but Leia retorts that she’s gone far longer without food. Kylo Ren tries to speak to her again when Phasma comes in to tell that Supreme Leader Snoke has summoned him to his chamber, Kylo Ren nods before giving one last look to his mother who doesn’t care to even look at him. He makes his way to Snoke’s chambers where he bows to his master who tells him that he has felt conflict inside of him. Kylo Ren says it’s nothing but Snoke tells him that it better be since he will be the one to execute General Organa in 5 days before the whole galaxy. Kylo Ren nods but looks conflicted.

On Coruscant, Winter and Poe are loudly arguing that the New Republic should make a major assault against the First Order now that they’re weakened, however, many senators are still afraid. While this happening, Finn is experiencing visions and more hallucinations of a strange woman with long white hair who keep whispering for him.

Finn and Poe make sure to keep Armitage and Ben at least a meter away from each other. By now the first has stopped offering resistance, but the latter is still struggling, so the duo keeps him grappled.

Finn: "Sometimes I wonder how Snoke put up with you two. Or how the First Order didn't come crashing down under your constant fights. Good thing I wasn't aware of what was going on in the upper command ranks."

Poe: "Yeah, it never pays to take a look into the kitchen. Better not know how the food's getting made."

Finn (over his shoulder): "And you wipe that sneer off your face!"

Armitage: "You can't even see my mimic..."

Finn: "Don't need to. I KNOW you're doing it."

Finn: "Alright, what happened? You better tell us before Rey has finished meditating and you have to answer to HER."

Ben: "Look at Hux' notebook."

Poe (whispering): "Sorry about the kitchen joke. For a moment I forgot how that's a sore spot for you."

Armitage (whispering back): "You fuckers have a full profile on me, huh?"

Poe (still whispering): "We were not aware that you'd have defected earlier if only I'd brought a can of soda and a wrapped chocolate Vader to D'Qar, but the rest, yes. But! MY mom was a rebel. All three of my parents were rebels, even. Can you imagine? That’s far worse than a kitchen worker, right?”

One filled-in document later:

Finn: "Armitage launched a program that helps stormtroopers research their origins. Why are you opposed to that, when you claim you want to reform the First Order to be a place worth living in?"

Ben: "It's too early. As if I'd cut off my swordarm in the middle of a battle."

Finn: "You'd deny people basic human decency so that they can more efficiently defend your crumbling empire? And that’s the redeemed version of you?!"

Ben: "We are all making sacrifices. We here in this fortress have realized what we need to do and applied ourselves to the task. The less lucid have to get guided."

Finn: "Do you really not understand? You disavowed the Dark Side, that must have taken immense willpower, I give you that. But afterwards you just went on with doing what you've always done: Swinging your lightsaber around, only now in a heroic way.

And you still buy into that supremacy idea. How your superior Skywalker genes make you destined for rulership and commoners being cattle. Only under your rulership they will be happy cattle."

Ben: "Yes. You summed that up nicely. That's how the universe works. And the Force makes sure that people like you and Rey, who wind up in situations below their station, get opportunities to rise."

Finn: "You may not have pushed the fire button, but it's because of people like you that atrocicities like Hays minor and Hosnia get committed."

Ben: "Wait, now I am the bad guy?! You can't mean that!"

Meanwhile Armitage: "I still say you made that chocolate Vader up!"

Ben: *storms off*

Ben: "I'm doing an extra shift in the lab. No need to thank me."

In case you wonder about the hastily photoshopped upper right corner in the screenshot where Finn is holding Ben - the original showed Ben’s teeth that remained visible when the game faded out the sim.

okay i finally finished the star wars sequel trilogy and here’s my opinion and thoughts on each of the movies that no one asked for but i want to share anyway 🤓🤓 spoilers below!

The Force Awakens:

Don’t have a strong opinion on this movie TBH, I think it’s the weakest of the three but it’s a good introduction movie.

Wasn’t expecting Han’s death…RIP TO A REAL ONE😭

Still don’t understand how Rey was able to beat a trained Kylo Ren in battle…she was too OP for the first movie.

Kylo’s back story isn’t convincing enough and I think he’s kind of lame, I don’t think they did him justice.

Transitioning between scenes is so reminiscent of the OG triology and I love it.

The Last Jedi:

THE BEST OUT OF THE THREE!! I really enjoyed this movie; especially all the different sub plots. I loved that we got to see more characters.

I AM A FINNPOE ENTHUSIAST

I AM NOT A REYLO ENTHUSIAST

I liked Rose’s character and her dynamic with Finn!! Kelly Marie Tran did not deserve all the hate she got ): Rose was awesome ):

The scene in Snoke’s throne, Kylo reminded me so much of Anakin in ROTS, from the hair to the expression on his face, I literally think he channeled Anakin’s energy into his performance (think of Anakin when he first pledged loyalty to Palpatine)

Kinda confused on the direction they went in with Luke. You mean to tell me Luke refused to kill Darth Vader because he believed there was light still in him, but couldn’t extend the same hope to Kylo? Idk, Luke’s main characteristic is that he’s the hopeful, optimistic hero and I feel like they completely scrapped that. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY DONT EVEN DIRECTLY TELL YOU WHY KYLO HAD SO MUCH DARKNESS IN HIM, i blame the story tellers

Luke saying no one’s ever really gone…yeah I cried 😭

I knew Luke died from like years ago, but watching his force spirit in front of the two suns just reminded me of that iconic scene in ANH where he’s standing in front of the two Tatooine suns. Literally one of my favorite Star Wars scenes EVER 🥹

The Rise of Skywalker

I think my biggest gripe with this trilogy is that it completely ruins Anakin/Vader being the Chosen One. Like….George Lucas confirms he’s the Chose One and then we see in ROTJ that he helps brings balance to the force, thus completing the prophecy. BUT THEN PALPATINE DIDNT DIE AND HES BACK AND THAT MAKES THE PROPHECY COMPLETELY MOOT AND THATS AN INSULT TO MY POOKIE.

Didn’t expect Leia to die…I know Carrie died (RIP TO A REAL ONE) but I honestly didn’t know she was going to die in the movie and I kept on wondering how they were going to pull it off. And I’m just realizing they killed each of the OG trio 😭

We needed more Rose.

They built up Finn to be a love interest for Rey in the first movie then completely scrapped that idea for Reylo 😭

Not sure how I feel about Reylo. I was really hoping they wouldn’t kiss then BOOM they kissed. Idk I just don’t think the chemistry was there.

I still think they did Kylo’s character building dirty, but I did enjoy his redemption arc. RIP

The voices of all the Jedi guiding Rey, I CRIED OKAYYYYYY

FINNPOE SUPREMACY

I love FinnPoe, but also Finn and Poe separately. Oscar and John were amazing

Seeing all the Death Stars crash, the Ewoks looking up and cheering, the celebration scene 😭😭😭😭 I cried so much IDK it just reminded me so much of the the end of ROTJ and honestly I’m a huge sucker for a good winning final scene.

Overall, I enjoyed the trilogy more than I thought I would and while I do think it’s not PERFECT and I do think there’s a lot to fix, I do think a lot of SW fans are just salty and hated the idea of a more diverse, female led franchise. I would definitely watch again (:

Okay, can someone please explain to me why so many Finn fans hate TLJ?

They claim it 'totally demeans him'....all because of how he was depicted in his first scenes in the film. But, that was at the beginning, and Rian was simply carrying on where TFA left off. As well as using Boyega's great comic skills.

Now take a look at Finn post the arrival on the Supremacy.

JJ in TFA created him as a 'simple sanitation worker'. RJ in TLJ showed how this overlooked 'skill' meant he knew his way around the ship like the back of his hand - just like Luke's seemingly mundane talent at 'blasting womp rats in Beggar's Canyon' on Tattooine gave him the experience to join the attack on the Death Star. Both Rose, a far more experienced Resistance member, and DJ, far more experienced at life, deferred to him there. Finn found the disguises, found the way to where the tracking device was located. Finn openly defied Hux without fear. Finn killed Phasma. Finn was willing to die to save his friends. And, perhaps most importantly of all.....remember the scene where he speaks words of encouragement to a disillusioned, decimated Resistance?

This scene in particular shows him developing leadership skills....skills he could have later used to inspire and lead a stormtrooper rebellion.

Bafflingly, Finn's fans, particularly on the JCF, choose to ignore all this character development. Some even whine that RJ 'robbed' him of his chance at 'leading a stormtrooper rebellion.'

What rubbish. RJ is the one that 'groomed' Finn into becoming that person, and Abrams and Terrio who robbed him of it. Apart from a vague title of General given off screen, Finn in TROS was a laughing stock, more even than he was in TFA - remember how he spent much of the first film as an object of ridicule, drinking from an animal trough, being shot in the arse by BB8, and having to be rescued repeatedly, first by Rey, then Han, then Rey again?

What should have been Finn's role was given to Jannah, while Finn was reduced to running around shouting Rey's name so much it ended up becoming a meme. If anyone 'degraded' Finn, it was Abrams - not Johnson, who did more with him in one film that the other did in two. Like Rey, and Poe, Finn 'grew up' in TLJ.

Yet, his fans prefer to heap blame on Johnson, simply because Rey ended up holding hands with Kylo, and not Finn.

They forget that in the OT, Han Solo 'getting' Leia did not demean Luke as a character.

Lbr, racist misogynists would read any show of emotion by a black woman as "angry", regardless of how Reva actually behaved. I've seen fans blame Disney for casting her as a character who embodies that harmful stereotype. But I'm not comfortable with the implications that Moses and Deborah Chow would willingly participate in that. As you said, they both highly educated, successful, award winning WOC; that's definitely not something either would do. What you share your thoughts?

youre right about racists misreading everything reva does regardless. i think that, since Chow has been a p succesful writer/director (?) up to this point, it's likely that one or both of them is aware that Black women are stereotyped as being more aggressive than we actually are.

reva's also ambitious (a trait I like in a female character regardless), which would be viewed as aggression and anger. reva's inquisitor status means she's gotta have hatred and anger in her. not automatically a bad thing--but her being played by a Black woman plays into this pattern of Disney putting their "rep" on the side of the FO/Empire and keeping the heroes largely white(washed) or alien. education doesn't always prevent someone from writing something harmful, though, so I'd hesitate to say that their accolades preclude bigotry of any kind. do I think either of them is doing it on purpose? Nope! Maybe another day, I'll get into why a Black actor might play characters that end up playing into common stereotypes. Maybe.

But, and I can't remember who said this but I just reblogged it--we have to remember that the empire is/was a metaphor for white supremacist fascism, as enacted for white people by white people. I saw some annoying post floating around that made the argument that because there were people of color who were N/zis in WWII (they conflated the entire Japanese state with individual willingness of the people to support N/zi germany's vile white supremacy, which is something else entirely) it "makes sense" that Reva (and trilla, and basically every background character in the FO in the ST) are people of color. it's "more accurate" that way.

(no its not. people of color can be white supremacists but the ones pulling the strings and making the plans and building the ideology were and are overwhelmingly white--and notice how star wars will never at any point take the metaphor far enough to examine that level and type of self hatred in a character. not that I want them to)

The other side of the coin is the resistance to having Black characters as protagonists. We had Finn, they dropped Finn, JB left, and now Disney LFL is pushing more PoC into the Empire despite, again, the Empire itself being visually representative of white white supremacists, not Every White Supremacist Ever. We had Rose, they dropped Rose, and now we have more PoC in the Empire and FO. We had Poe--

(that post also conflated the people shitting on Finn for daring to be a Black man in space with the people who are complaining now about how Disney still refuses to deliver on a Black character who's a hero, which.....lmao)

The balance is totally off. Star Wars as an overall story would work best if the Empire remained white supremacist in appearance and the heroes were more mixed, as both aliens and with human diversity. It's a better overarching story that way because it matches what we are literally living through right now. It certainly makes more sense than "a (conveniently) racially diverse fascist government is hurting and oppressing millions, especially these select special white people". I've totally deviated from what you were saying anon I'm sorry kssadfahdlka here's my thesis:

Reva's position as a Black fascist will do less damage if she ends up leaving the fascism, and her character arc has her become a good guy. I really can't see the pattern of Black people/poc in fantasy!racism government breaking if they don't do that or something similar. I speculated on Twitter what Reva's path might be, and this was partly because I want a Black character who is central to the story and a good guy. We don't have that. We. Do not. Have. That.

My fingers are crossed, anon. My position on these kinds of things is never to assume that the creators specifically had a goal to perpetuate racism, but seeing as its happened anyways, I address it.

Chapter 29: Calm Before The Storm

After a few months of gathering allies around the Outer Rim, Varax lets out a sigh of relief to be back on Naboo. As he steps off the ship, Poe and Finn run up to him to await their new plan. “Are we gonna terminate their fleet?!” Finn asks, almost giddy at the concept of destroying the First Order “Yeah, we gonna blow the Supremacy into a fiery wreck?” Poe asks, not as giddy, but equally enjoyable in the concept. Varax gives his friends a smile as he points to the nearby ships below Theed as an army of soldiers from every corner of the galaxy line atop their respected ships to await their orders. “Gentlemen, I’m done sitting by, the First Order wants a war… we’ll give ‘em a damn war” he says before stepping up to a podium, overlooking his new army alongside Aliana, Rey, and the other high command officers of the Resistance.

“My fellow citizens of the Galactic Republic and beyond, For too long have our homes been sacked, raided, and pillaged by fascist empires over the decades. And for too long have we sat idly by while they do so… Well I say no more!” He says through the valley, his voice booming through the hologram like thunder. “I have gathered you all here, not only to fight, but to crush, burn, and eradicate the tyrannical First Order that has terrorized the Galaxy we call home!” Varax bellows as the crowds cheer in glory. “For today, this will be marked, as either the Galaxy’s final stand against tyranny, or the end of the first order. But regardless of if we win or lose WE WILL NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT!!!” He yells as the crowds cheer before the entirety of the First Order’s fleet, including both the Supremacy and Finalizer warships appear out of hyperspace. “FOR GLORY, FOR FREEDOM, FOR LIBERTY, AND FOR THE ETERNAL ALLIANCE!!!!!” Varax yells, igniting his lightsaber and pointing it straight at the fleet, officially declaring war against the First Order as his army flies into the atmosphere, cheering as they lift off into battle.

Rey and Aliana look at each other and give one more good kiss as the battle begins.

“Hey Aliana?” Rey asks

“Yeah love?” Aliana asks

“If we survive this, we’re getting married” Rey says with a smirk

“I’ll take you up on that offer hun, just don’t die okay?” Aliana says with a soft laugh. “I’ll try hun” Rey says as they depart for the fight.

Chapter 30: To Ben, Or Not to Ben?

Varax sat aboard the Rattus with an almost maddening stare as the First Order fleet burned around him as Lord K’un enters the bridge. “Quite the speech my friend, I’m surprised you’re not fighting alongside the troops or the starfighters” he says as his serpent staff coils around his arm. Varax gives the warlord a chuckle “The wisest leaders know when to and to not sit upon the front lines” he said as he looked upon the chaos.

Meanwhile, Snoke is almost foaming at the mouth as the fleet he spent almost 3 decades building and financing burns around him. “KYLO!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OUT THERE!!! I WANT THOSE SHIPS ERADICATED” He yelled through the holomessage of Ben as he flew through the chaos. “The fleet outnumbers us 12 to 1, even if we were as great as Sidious’s empire, we’d still lose” he explains before Snoke gives him a glare “Bring me Varax Koslov and his apprentice, or you will be replaced boy!” he barks before hanging up.

Kylo thought for a moment as he dodged the enemy fire. Was he wrong? Did he screw up? Was his mother, father, and uncle right? Questions riddled Kylo’s mind as he flew through the chaos before noticing Varax’s presence through the force, he sensed he was aboard his mother’s old warship the Raddus. “Alright Snoke, you want Varax, you’ll get him” he says as he charges at the warship.

Varax feels Kylo’s anger through the battlefield, he outstretched his hand as the TIE Interceptor charges at the war room before slamming the ship into the hull of the Raddus.

Kylo ejects from his ship's cockpit, luckily landing in a transport tunnel rather than a hangar, he climbs out as a hover deck flies beneath him. He kills the guards with minimal effort as he makes his way to the central hangar, sensing Varax’s presence inside.

Varax stares at the HoloDeck gates as he hears Kylo yell through the barrier and blast through, igniting his red crossguard as he points it at his old master “You should’ve killed me, now you’re gonna suffer” he says under his mask, almost snarling with his words.

Varax lets out a deep laugh as he takes off his exterior robes and cloak, “Let's end this, Padawan” he says with a smirk as the two engage in a furious duel.

Meanwhile, Rey and Aliana sneak aboard the Supremacy with Finn and Poe…

Chapter 31: Duels Of Fate

Rey plants the charges aboard the hyperdrive with Poe as Finn and Alie keep watch, “You know, it would be a shame if you don’t make it out of this Finn, you’d make a great Jedi” she says, trying to lighten the mood a little. “Nah, Jedi stuff is your guy’s thing, and besides, I’ve always been better with a blaster anyhow” he says as he holds up a blaster pistol ironically. Rey giggles a little “Alright doofus, but if you change your mind just ask, I’ll always be ready to take on a student” she says as she arms the last of the bombs “ALRIGHT THATS ALL OF THEM” she yells down to the others as she and Finn hop down.

Suddenly, Rey feels a sickeningly cold feeling through the Force, “It’s him” she says as Snoke enters the chamber with his knights at his side. “You know, I half suspected you’d step out of the war business Rey, but I guess if you want something done right…” he says as a pair of lightsabers slide out of his sleeves, igniting into a deep red color “...You do it yourself” he says as he charges the group, roaring as he flips through the air as Rey and Aliana prepare to fight the Supreme Leader.

Back on the Raddus Varax is holding his own against Kylo, using a new lightsaber form he developed by studying the Nightbrothers of Dathomir, the Mandalorian Death Watch, and the Yusong Vong of Exegol. Kylo is struggling to keep up the defensive as Varax targets his weak point: His cybernetic arm. And after a heavy barrage of swings and slashes, Varax gleans both of Kylo’s arms as he falls to his knees. Varax grabs the red crossguard and holds it to his neck, “Do it, let the past die, kill it if you have to” he snarls under his broken mask.

Varax just lets out a disappointed sigh, “I sensed a glimpse of light inside you Ben, before you snuffed it out” he says as he backs off his blades and deactivates them. “You will stand trial for what you’ve done, and I’ll make sure your death is quick and painless” Varax says as Resistance troops take Kylo to the brig, the Dark Jedi screaming in rage as they grab him “DAMN YOU VARAX!!! KILL ME!!!! END MY TORMENT!!!! YOU WILL ALL BURN!!!” Kylo yells through the halls as the troops take him away.

Varax heads to the Obsidian Blade and notices a familiar presence through the Force…

“Son of a bitch, he actually came back!” he says as he heads to the Supremacy

Chapter 32: Epilogue (Part One)

Rey and Aliana hold their own against Snoke, managing to lead him to the ships hangar as the duo do their best to fight the old tyrant, “Where’s Finn and Poe?!?!” Rey asks in between strikes as Snoke flips back and starts hurling TIE Fighters at them. Aliana tries to answer in between dodges “Last I saw of them, they were running to the barracks. I don’t know what for though” she says as she uses Force Lightning to overcharge a fighter as Snoke leaps above them before being stopped mid air.

Rey and Aliana stare and see Luke, Varax, and Gungi holding the Supreme Leader above them with the Force, throwing him into a wall as the trio of masters ignite their blades “FOR THE ALLIANCE!!!” Varax roars as he charges the old tyrant, Luke and Gungi following suit as the five of them overwhelm Snoke before he pushes them back and holds Aliana in the air.

“So little girl, you think you’re powerful, let’s test that theory…” he says before pulling Aliana in with the Force and slicing her left leg clean off. Aliana cries out from the pain, Varax lets out a roar as he charges the Dark Lord before getting hit with a torrent of Force Lightning.

“What? Did you think you won? Foolish brat!!” He says as Varax writhes in agony as the lightning burns his back and shoulders before Luke jumps in front of him and impales Snoke in the stomach “This is for Ben you wrinkly fucker” he says before absorbing the lightning and releasing it into a massive explosion of Force energy.

“The Light Bomb….” Varax says in awe as he and Gungi help Rey and Aliana get up. As they do that Poe and Finn come running out “GET ON THE SHIP THEY DIDN’T WANNA CONVERT WE GOTTA GO!!!” Poe screams as the group head for the Fury and fly out of the Supremacy as Finn activates the bombs planted on the ship’s hyperdrive. The warship slowly falls into Naboo’s atmosphere in a fiery demise. “Holy kriff, WE MADE IT!!! YEAH BABY!!!” Poe says as he jumps into Finn's arms and hugs him before looking at Rey. Rey holds Aliana in her arms, her lips are curled and tears roll down her face as 2V enters the living hall. “Oh I’m so glad we ca- HOLY MOTHER OF THE FORCE WHAT HAPPENED TO LADY AMOROSA!?!?!” he screams as the others look to Rey for an answer. Before she can give one however, Varax steps up and explains what happened. 2V Gives the Sith, the closest thing he had to a daughter, a look of sadness as he carries her to the medical room.

Chapter 33: Epilogue (Part 2)

Several Weeks After the Battle Of Naboo

Rey walks into Aliana's room, her Sith fiance lying outstretched on the red mattress like a Corellian Spice Hound. “Well don’t you look radiant love, sleep well?” she asks Aliana, who tosses and turns in response, “yeah, just give me five more minutes hun, this bed is soooooooo much better than the ones on the Raddus” she says underneath a pillow. Rey crosses her arms as she looks down at the prosthetic leg Aliana had been wearing for the past month or so, which was on the ground and not on her leg as ordered by 2V.

“C’mon, get up, we’re meeting up with Varax to open the new Eternal Academy Today, and YOU are the head of Sith studies my little sleepyhead” she says as she sits on the mattress next to Aliana. The Sith lets out a groan “Fine, only if I get to pick our takeout meal after the ceremony, I’m sick of Mon Cala seafood” she says as she gets up and fixes her hair.

After getting ready, the duo reach the Eternal Academy, located on Kashyyyk, and land on the personal landing pad set up by Chieftain Lowbacca and Master Gungi.

As they step out they see hundreds of thousands of people lined up from across the galaxy. From the Core Planets to the Farthest Reaches of the Outer Rim, all citizens of the New Republic gathered to witness the rise of a new academy of Force Users…

Varax, the newly elected Headmaster, steps up to give his speech…

“Citizens of the New Galactic Republic, It gives me great pleasure to announce the official opening of the Eternal Academy. No longer will the ancient rivalries of the Jedi and Sith plague the galaxy we call home” he says as the crowd roars with laughter, cheers, and rejoice as Varax ignites his saber and points it to the sky, as if raising a torch to a new era…

“MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU, AND MAY IT SERVE YOU WELL!!!” He cheers as fireworks paint the night sky with a barrage of colors…

Thus bringing a new age of adventure, in a galaxy far, far, away…

What would happen if Rey never ran off from Snoke's Throne Room on board the Supremacy? What if she did decide to give Kylo's offer a chance? Join Kylo and Rey as they navigate through some awkward, humorous, dangerous and romantic moments as they begin a new life together. Kylo will have his share of difficulty and opposition from General Hux (openly) once he finds out Rey has joined Kylo ruling the First Order, which is something he's wanted for a long time now. When General Hux challenges, and betrays Kylo, it will not end well for him. There will also be other dynamics included of opposition from the First Order against Rey's presence that will manifest itself later in the story, but Rey will handle the entire situation beautifully, showing the First Order just how powerful she is. Hey it's the obscure meme submitter again.I should maybe be asking reddit but do you know what happened with Jack and some sort of "star wars conspiracy"?? I tried to read an article and did not understand wtf was happening cause I'm new here. I then came upon some posts calling RLM bigots and now I can't unsee it. Is there like an alt right contingent to their fanbase?

Ok so I usually stay away from controversy or outside drama of any sort and just watch the YouTube vids for fun but for those wondering, anon is referring to this tweet by Jack:

Where he is retweeting this article that’s basically about how alt-right and white supremacy groups negatively targeted The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi for having a diverse cast of strong characters and that played some part in why The Rise of Skywalker sucked, because I guess these hate groups got what they wanted which was to erase that diversity as much as possible (I.e. giving Poe a criminal backstory, downgrading Finn’s main character role significantly, making Rey special for her lineage rather than her own merit and skill, basically erasing Rose, etc.) thereby ruining the whole sequel trilogy with a disappointing ending.

I only skimmed the article, but it seems to be that it is not agreeing with the alt right criticisms, but the author is simply explaining how said criticisms lead to the bad retconning of the story/characters in order to appeal to bigoted “fans,” I guess, and that holding negative views against certain minority characters can lead to holding those views against minorities in real life. From looking at the tweet, it seems to me that Jack is just agreeing with the article’s point about how hate, racism, and misogyny overpowered the ending of the franchise and tainted it (and that hating diversity in the franchise can/has lead to more extremist hate views for some fans). Some people are taking it as Jack agreeing with the alt-right stance, but I’m personally not getting that from this. In my opinion that’s not what’s happening and people are taking his response the wrong way by saying he himself is alt-right. If anyone else has more info or a different explanation, please share as I don’t know anything beyond the tweet and the article.

Emotional Highs and Lows, Chapter 33 of Not Giving up

The twins were much fawned over that night and well into the morning. Rose called them little porcelain dolls, Leia held back tears at their names - Padme and Breha. Poe cradled them both with a surprising ease that spoke of experience with children, whispering excited promises to show them both the stars. Rey politely rolled her eyes and refrained from reminding Uncle Poe that both parents were accomplished pilots. Finn lacked that restraint, playfully snapping at Poe. Chewbacca struggled not to howl in triumph, stroking the chubby cheeks of the next generation of Solos.

Amidst the joy of found family, Ben slipped outside. The soft laughter and warmth felt too bright for his tired eyes so he leaned against a stone railing and let the cool night air refresh his soul. He ought to be next to Rey, smoothing her hair and making sure she didn’t overextend herself. Mother and Chewie would call out if anything changed though and he needed to just breathe for a moment.

“What the hell are you doing out here?”

The traitor’s voice. The last one Ben had expected to come after him and a wry smirk twisted his full lips. He would have put credits on it being Poe or Rose first. Very well then.

“I’m not the best with people, as you might guess.” Snide tones, the mask was sliding back into place, hiding his flaws and insecurities by turning them into badges of honor. Rey would be annoyed but she wasn’t here at the moment.

“You better figure it out real quick then. She went through hell today - you’re supposed to be there! How do you know she’s ok-”

“Because I’m her dyad.” Ben hissed, cutting the other man off, revealing the temper he’d worked so hard to conceal during the entire visit. “Do you think a few feet and some walls would keep me from knowing her energy, her emotions?”

Ben had to admire Finn’s straight back, the refusal to step back and the righteous anger that resonated off the man. Poe’s outbursts came from anger, Finn’s from protective affection. Turning from Finn, he braced himself on the stone railing.

“... you can feel her, from here?”

“Child’s play. I felt her arrival when she touched down on the Supremacy across the ship.” Ben smirked a little, looking down into the dark waters of the lake at night. Finn had become Force sensitive at some point, the whens and wheres made no difference to Ben. If Rey wanted to teach the man, she could. Whenever Finn got around to admitting it to anyone - Ben felt the secret burning just below the surface of the man’s skin. Ben took a slow, deep breath and made a quiet admission as Finn stepped up beside Ben. “I felt her fading during the labor, like she was slipping through my hands. The Dark side was pulling at us both.”

“Could you have helped her, using the Force?” Finn broke the silence after a long moment, his voice quiet.

“I could have taken life from someone else and given it to her.” Ben spoke as though he were discussing the best way to prepare bantha steaks, and it felt surreal even to him. If only for the context of the discussion. The horror and shock on Finn’s face was perversely entertaining, and Ben continued. “It’s written of in old texts like a blood transfusion, then it becomes a weapon. A way to kill and heal at the same time.”

Finn cussed under his breath, looking down at the water. He didn’t know what was more disturbing, the concept that Ben could do that or that Rey would be tempted by it. If Ben was even telling the truth.

“So you’re avoiding her because of that?” Not for the first time, Finn tried to wrap his head about the powers the Force bestowed, trying to picture himself with even a fraction of those abilities.

“It’s because it’s my fault she was in the position to be tempted in the first place.”

Finn turned his head to stare at Ben in the leftover light that filtered out through the windows of Varykino. Turning over Ben’s statement until he parsed the meaning. Then cussed again, Finn turning his back against the stone railing with his arms folded across his chest.

“Do not put me in a position where I have to defend you.” Finn nearly growled at the uncomfortableness of it all. What he would like to do was to push the damn ass into the lake and pray Leia never taught him to swim. “Look, Rey made a very clear point of how she was entirely a willing participant so I know more about your weird Force sex life than I ever wanted to.”

“She couldn’t have reasonably-”

“Stop.” Finn grabbed Ben’s shoulder, pulling the other man to face him. “Nobody knows what to expect when it comes to this Force bullshit. And you…. You don’t deserve her but this one thing isn’t your fault.”

“You’re saying that because Rey’d be furious with you for not saying something.” Dark humor flashed in Ben’s eyes. Being comforted by Finn was a circumstance neither could have predicted.

“Doesn’t make it untrue.”

Ben snorted a quiet laugh, interlacing his fingers behind his head. The traitor was honest, even when he oughtn’t be. Grudgingly, he was coming to like the former trooper though he couldn’t see himself being friendly with anyone - let alone Rey’s Resistance friends.

“You win. Breha needs something anyway.”

As the two returned, Ben was only a few beats ahold of his daughter’s cry. Plenty of time to beat Rey from trying to rise. He’d prefer to chase everyone out and let her rest in quiet, but she was so pleased to be making memories with them.

“Ben Solo, have you entirely forgotten how to change a baby?” Leia didn’t hide her amusement, looking on in amusement as her son’s large hands fumbled with the adhesive tabs and bits of cloth.

“Been awhile since I was a baby-sitter.” Ben grimaced, suddenly reconsidering his stance on taking on all the changing and such for the first few days. He was positive that none of the children he’d looked after as a young teen had produced anything quite so foul either.

“There’s a diagram on the side of the box,” Poe contributed all too helpfully. Ben pondered murder. The blood would be bad for the antique rugs though, and Mother would never shut up about the stains.

“You’re doing wonderfully.” Rey piped from the comfortable settee, where she was bundled up with blankets and pillows. Her voice was warm, if exhausted. She didn’t want to be in the bed, and Rey had quickly discovered that nobody was going to tell Ben Solo’s wife where she had to be when she’d just given him twins. Any attempts to suggest she moved ahead of her own schedule had been met with a silent scowl from her large husband.

Rose had tried but Ben had simply carried Rey wherever his Princess wanted to go, refusing to let her feet touch the floor. Chewie brought along the needed supplies for the twins and she was touched by their joint willingness to cater to her whims. Especially when she could offer no better reason than “the bed is too big”.

Ben flashed her a bright, overly confident grin at the praise and Rey felt her heart melting. He was so painfully sweet, and he didn’t give himself remotely enough credit. As if she needed extra reasons to cement her decision to stay at his side, there he was - faking his way through changing a nappy.

Rey snuggled back into her nest of pillows, savoring the harmony of voices around her. Ben’s rumbling tenor mixing with Leia’s neatly clipped tones, Poe’s rough banter sweetened by Rose’s gentle determination. A private smile curled over Rey’s face as she remembered that fateful night on the Falcon, when she was so certain she would never see Ben again. Rey had been surrounded by her family that night, and it was the first time she’d realized that she had a family. Now Ben was here, a part of it and with their children.

Her bliss was utterly unmatched.

Those first days, neither Rey or Ben - or anyone else at Varykino - kept much of a regular sleeping schedule. Ben found himself reluctantly appreciative of Rey’s friends as they provided a few much needed breaks for power naps. Not that anyone could comment on the devotion of either parents, much as certain people would have liked to find fault in the Father.

A cool morning breeze, chilled from blowing through the mist across the lake, helped awaken Rey after a night with little rest. Despite their plethora of baby-sitters, she found it difficult to sleep. The twins were so little, their cries were so faint - what if she slept through them needing her?

There was nothing else at the Retreat that demanded Rey’s attention and yet she felt as though there wasn’t enough of herself to give. Rose assured her that Rey was doing everything wonderfully, and Ben worried that Rey was pushing herself too hard. Still.

“Sssh, Daddy’s sleeping.” Rey cooed, hating herself for how long it took her to soothe Padme. Breha was nestled safely into her lap, swaddled in soft cloth and sleeping with a scrunched face, while Rey gently rocked her sister. Ben soothed them so much faster, Padme looked like she trying to smile with Leia held her, Poe held them more expertly-

“Neither of you have any confidence, you know that?” Annakin appeared, crouched before his daughter-in-law with a warm smile. A blue thumb caressing Breha’s chubby cheek as he admired the next generation.

“Mucking about in my head is exceedingly rude.” She snapped tartly, then took a deep breath as Padme tried her best to howl. Rey closed her green eyes and lightly pressed her lips to the little one’s forehead. Of course she was no good at this, Rey could barely remember her own mother and she’d been too busy scrambling to survive to learn infant care. The girls would have better off with anyone else as their mother…

“Can’t say it registers on my naughty list, all things considered.” Annakin snorted, remaining crouched in front of Rey and the infants. “You’re being excessively hard on yourself, you know.”

“What would you know, you didn’t even see your kids till they were grown.” Rey scrunched her own face at the Force ghost, both grateful to hear it and resentful of the unsolicited feedback. Well, if she was ever allowed to be contradictory, it was right now.

“I’d say it makes an expert on what not to do.” He rose with a dark chuckle, “They don’t need you to be perfect, they just need you to be here.”

“I don’t recall asking Sith Lords for parenting advice.” Rey sighed heavily, but wrapped Padme closer into her arms. Getting the infant close to her own heartbeat and inhaling the sweet scent of her baby. When she spoke again, it was in a much softer tone. “I just want them to have everything I didn’t.”

Annakin watched, the smile never fading from his lips, as Rey slowly rubbed the back of the swaddled infant - named for his own wife. She would have been so proud to stand here, knowing their grandson married in the same place they did. Not for the first time, he mused about how much more peaceful his family’s life would have been if he had simply abandoned the Order to have a quieter life.

“They are going to have everything they need and so much more. You and Ben are changing the course of the Skywalker legacy.”

The words were heavy with affection, and accompanied by a paternal ruffling of her own brown hair. But when Rey looked up, Ben’s grandfather was nowhere to be seen. Sighing, she looked down at Padme, who was finally soothing.

“We’ve certainly got a funny family, don’t we?” Looking down to Padme’s unfocused, brown eyes. In answer, the baby girl only waved her arms and gurgled. Rey hated to admit it, but she felt soothed for the visit. “It is nice to have them though, isn’t it.”

Timeline of Events

This is the order of events for my Empress Rey kin timeline that I have recalled so far. The memories posted on this blog go into greater detail. This post will be updated as more memories come forth.

Birth - Age 4 Parents and I hid from people hunting us, always on the move

Age 5 Parents sold me to Unkar Plutt and left me on Jakku

Age 13 Awakened to the Force My Force signature was picked up by Palpatine and Snoke and were able to figure out my location using some undisclosed method Moved out of Unkar Plutt’s place and into my AT-AT walker Was picked up by the First Order Started apprenticeship with Snoke Met Finn (age 11) and became best friends

Age 14 Started saber training, first with a stun saber, then with a real saber

Age 15 Sexually assaulted by 4 officers on the Supremacy First kills (the 4 officers) Helped Finn escape the Supremacy Snoke performed a Force memory wipe on me, burying my memories of Finn as well as Snoke’s involvement in my assault.

Age 16 Embraced the Dark Side at the Sith voices’ encouragement after torturing and killing a Stormtrooper recruit who had resisted conditioning and I didn’t take it well Evaluated and chose my Knights Met Miratal Miratal and I became lovers

Age 17 Made my own dual-bladed lightsaber with two Kyber crystals that I bled First missions to eliminate Jedi Got the name ‘Jedi Killer’ Killed Luke and had Knights kill 7 of his students The war began

Age 18 Snoke tells me what I’ve been training for, revealing that Palpatine is my grandfather and that I’m to be his successor Killed Snoke, became Supreme Leader Rejected Ben’s offer to come to the Resistance

Age 22 Defeated Palpatine with Ben’s help Became Empress Captured Ben Solo and made him my personal slave

Age 24 Ben turned me to the Light Destroyed my own Empire Destroyed the fortress and the Dark Fleet on Exegol Went to the Resistance base with Ben Sentenced to 6 years probation Rose and I became lovers One of the medics on the Base surgically removed Snoke’s ring

Age 25 The voices of the Sith faded away for good

Age 27 Sentence reduced to 3 years for good behaviour Probation ended and I was permitted to wield weapons, fly ships, and leave the base Removed the two Kyber crystals from my saber and Ben and I bury the hilt in a remote location on D’Qar Rose proposed to me about a month after my probation ended Rose and I were engaged several months before getting married Rose gave me her last name, Tico

Post-war Healed my Kyber crystals Made a new dual-bladed lightsaber (didn’t fold) and installed my healed Kyber crystals, creating white blades My Knights (minus Miratal) attacked the Base, looking for me Rose was severely injured during the attack, as a result of Serana's pole arm Poe had me attend a meeting before an important mission to discuss strategy
