First time posting, but I needed to write something about Finn from Adventure Time because… I just had to get obsessed again.

So here is a Finn x Librarian! Reader of how he fell for you! (And how it is with his feelings for you)

Starting off with how ya’ll met, it was… very hilarious.

You were caught by a swamp creature at the edge of the forest after walking home, and got tied up to a tree.

Finn, alone in the woods, assumed you needed to be saved, so he tried to bravely beat up the beast that held you captive. (Kind of like that one scene from Hercules)

Before he could even lay a hit, you escaped the rope and tackled the beast into a headlock right in front of him.

Your grip made the swamp guy scream uncle till you let go and he booked it out of there, calling you a maniac.

When you turned to face Finn, his eyes lit up in awe at how strong and brave you were for putting up with the guy.

Even though you glared at him, Finn’s smile never faltered. You waited for him to say a cheesy or bold line like “I could’ve done that.” Or “You could’ve waited for me to help.”

But no, his words made you flustered

“You’re so… mathmatical!”

“… what?”

You had no idea what that word was or meant, but it seemed to be a compliment so you took it.

He continued to ramble about how cool you looked and kept asking you questions about fighting and adventures.

“Ah, I’m not really an adventurer. I work at the library”

Cue his shocked expression. Especially since he had never seen you there before. He felt guilty about never noticing you, but after this night he’ll never leave you alone.

He’ll try to talk to you more and he even visits the library. (He’s forced to get a book each time since he can’t just show up almost every day trying to talk while you work)

One day, he shows up a little later than usual and catches you reading a book to a group of candy children.

You seemed so calm and happy while you told the tale. Your eyes had a glimmer that could rival any jewel he and his brother found in a dark cave.

His face heated up and his heart leapt into his throat. His mouth gaped open and shut like a fish in air. He’s felt like this before, but only around PB and Flame Princess…

… so he could possibly be in love. Or, that being too much for him to handle, he is in the current phase where he found a new crush.

After this realization, he starts asking you to hang out more outside of your job. To the point where if you step outside, there’s a chance he’ll be there asking you for advice or to hang out.

One of his favorite things to do with you is just sit or lay next to you while you read a book.

Your voice is calming to him, and the way you tell the tales makes it come alive.

He’ll get really close, basically leaning on you, while he smiles happily with his eyes closed so he can listen to you speak.

His feelings are very known, meaning everyone knows, but he thinks it’s a huge secret that no one knows about.

His feelings start off as a childish crush, but the more you are around him, the more he falls each and every time.

“Can… can you read that line again please?”

“Sure. Then, the beast rushed over to the knight and…”

finn with a fem reader who’s a science nerd

Finn called you over for repairs to their telescope not too long ago, something about a fight with the Ice King where he cracked the lense. The sun had already gone down, and the stars (now more visible after all the human’s pesky light pollution was gone) came out of their hiding spots along with the crescent moon.

You stopped the video game you were speeding through, the call being a necessary distraction to pull you out of what would otherwise be many hours straight of gameplay, and a significant lack of self-care.

You pack your bag with snacks, and (of course) books about astrophysics and astronomy (just in case the hangout became a sleepover, or you suddenly needed them. Things can get very chaotic very quickly with Finn), two of your favorite and very closely related sciences. Unlike him, you didn’t want to adventure for your whole life, you did eventually want to become an astrophysicist, maybe study with Peebs.

“Why do you even have a telescope if you never use it?” You say, looking down at the new lense you were trying to install.

“‘Cuz we need it to see any incoming baddies,” Finn waves his sword around, whacking imaginary enemies.

“What about, like. Using binoculars instead,”

“Telescope sees better,”

“Fair point, fair point,” You raise an eyebrow at him, “You do actually know what it’s for, right?”

Finn pauses to think. “I mean…you look at the stars. At least I think you do. I dunno why you’d look at them through that when you can see ‘em perfectly fine from here,”

“It’s cool, trust me! It’s to see them in more detail,”

Finn stares blankly at you.

“So, in space, there’s, like. a hundred billion things—things we can’t even see from here—and this telescope lets you look at all the stuff you can’t see and all the stuff you can see but better,”

Finn sheathes his sword, “I thought there was just the stars, planets and the moon in space?”

“Oh, well. Yeah, but there’s also asteroids, meteoroids, all those decayed satellites from before the mushroom war, supernovas—oh oh oh! Do you know what a supernova is? They’re so cool—they’re basically a big, big star that after becoming a red supergiant they implode in this huge burst of energy that lasts years—and at the end it either makes a neutron star, or a black hole. Black holes are actually super cool too, they don’t let anything out—not even light! Most black holes are smaller than Ooo but there are some massive ones at the center of every galaxy—which is a whole other thing—that could’ve been formed by being compressed at the center of giant stars back in the ancient universe. Also, they’re probably going to be the last thing in the universe but because of hawking radiation eventually they’ll fade away too, and…um…”

You look back over at Finn, who now sat criss cross on the floor of the balcony. He’d been intently listening (even if he didn’t understand some of it) but in your eyes you were boring him. Most people don’t have the energy or desire to listen to your long rants about space, and once you start, the conversation fizzles out and they’re too tired to talk to you.

You look down at your hands, “Sorry, I was rambling again. We can talk about something else if you want, haha…”

“No, no no no,” He had zoned out many times during PB’s talks of numbers and other things kinda irrelevant to him, but for you it was different. Maybe he just likes hearing the sound of your voice, he doesn’t know. “Can you keep going?”

Your heart flutters.

Your rambling continues on into the night, moon and stars slowly moving across the skies. Finn doesn’t add much to the conversation, mostly watches with a fluttering feeling he couldn’t figure out in his chest. Man, you were pretty when you talked.

Many hours later (you don’t know it, but the sun’s coming up soon), you sit by Finn’s side, both of you sleepy from staying up all night.

Finn looks over to you, “Tonight was fun,”

You’re quiet, “…the funny thing is, most peeps don’t like to hear about it. The stars,”

“I wanna hear about the stars, if it’s you talking about them,”

Your eyes practically sparkle, and you pull him into a hug. Finn’s face grows hot, and he freezes before hugging you back.

“Tier one, dude,”

“What?”

Brief summary - you have a horrible day and try to calm down by taking a walk, your day went from horrible to painful, thankfully, you accidentally called simon...

You woke up and checked the time, it was early. You groaned and tried to fall asleep but couldn't, you tossed and turned for hours. You finally got up, grumbling a bit, you didn't want to he awake. You stretched and felt a sharp pain in your back. You clenched your teeth and put a hand on your back.

"Ouch"

You groaned and went to the bathroom, your shirt got caught in the door.

"Great.."

You hissed through your teeth and pulled your shirt from the door nob, stumbling back a bit. You let out a loud sigh and turned to the sink. You picked up your toothbrush and tried to squeeze out some toothpaste on it, but it was empty. You cursed at your past self for forgetting to buy more and set your toothbrush down. You sighed loudly, walking out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. You looked in your fridge, grabbing something to eat and tried to make yourself breakfast but burnt it. You were getting really pissed off.

"Globdammit.."

You grumbled and threw the pan into the sink. You sighed and thought about how you could preoccupy your mind. You wanted to do something that would make you less angry.

You walked to your room and got dressed quickly, you decided on taking a walk.

Maybe the fresh air would help?

You walked outside your house and just kept going. You walked to a nearby forest, looking down at the ground and kicked a rock. You sighed loudly, walking wasn't helping your mood. you grabbed your phone that was in your pocket.

Mabye hanging out with someone would help?You started to go down your contact list on your phone.

"Finn? No he's probably busy helping someone.. Marcy? No she might be on a date.. that rules PB out too"

You mumbled to yourself and sighed as you got to your last contact. It was simon. You shook your head.

"no.. I.. I don't want to bother him..

You mumbled quietly, he was your boyfriend but you still worried about bugging him.

You pushed your phone back in your pocket accidentally calling simon

"Hello?"

He answered, you didn't hear him or notice that you accidentally called him.

"Today's the worst!"

He let out a chuckle, he was also having a pretty bad day.

"Yeah, do you need me to come over?"

You huffed, you weren't really paying attention to your surroundings and stepped into a hole. Your foot got stuck and you fell forward, your ankle snapped.

You cried in pain and looked down at your foot.

"Shit! Shit! fuck that hurts!"

"What's wrong?! Are you alright?"

Simon was almost yelling into his phone but you didn't hear him, you were in too much pain to actually listen to things around you.

You gently pulled your foot out the hole and moved your leg closer to you.

"Oh shit! Oh fuck!"

You started to freak out when you relized you couldn't move your foot.

"Y/N?! Answer me! Please!"

He pleaded with you, hoping you'd answer soon. He didn't know what was going on or why you wouldn't answer and that made him even more concerned.

You could hear something coming from your pocket and grabbed your phone. you almost dropped it when you read the name on the phone. You put your phone to your head.

"H-Hello Simon.. I.. I'm sorry.. I.. I called you by accident.."

You clenched your teeth as you spoke, the pain was unbearable and it made it hard to speak.

You moved the phone away from your face and tried to move to a nearby tree, you didn't want to be out in the open with an injury this bad. You started to sob as you crawled to the tree, holding the phone in your hand still.

Simon could hear you struggling and crying.

"Tell me where you are!"

He said, gripping his phone tightly.

You put the phone back to your face when you got to the tree, you leaned against it so you could rest.

"I.. I don't know..."

You whimpered an wiped your tears away, letting out a sigh. You didn't want him to try and find you, you didn't want him to see you like this, you didn't want him to see you so pathetic.

"I... I'll figure it out.. I.. I'm going to hang up.."

"W-WAIT!'

Simon yelled through the phone, he was starting to get even more worried about you.

"Tell me where you are and I'll come help.."

You could hear movement from his side of the phone. You let out a sigh and looked down at your leg.

"I'm fine.. I.. I don't want you to se-"

You cut yourself off with a loud groan. The pain was getting worse.

Simon called your name a couple of times and you tried to shift your attention to his voice, mabye the pain would ease up if you focused on something else

"Tell me where you are!"

"I-In the forest n-near my house.. but that's... that's all I know.."

Your voice was slightly shakey from the pain.

"I'll.. I'll figure it out.. d-don't worry.."

You said trying to comfort him. You knew your situation was bad and you didn't know how to fix it but you still didn't want him to see you like this.

"I'm coming to get you.. alright?"

His voice was firm and he wasn't taking no for an answer, he was going to get you and that was that.

You were in to much pain to argue with him, you smiled weakly and let out a soft sigh.

He really cared for you, didn't he?

You looked at your leg, blood stained the bottom of you pants

"S..Simon.. d-do you think you're strong enough to.. to pick me up?"

You chuckled slightly, realizing that you couldn't walk.

"I could try.. Are you hurt that badly?"

Simon said, he sounded like he was running.

"...yes.."

You let out a sigh and looked up, trying to push the tears back.

"I'll try to be there as soon as possible, alright?"

He tried to sound calm, trying to comfort you.

You sat up and lifted your pant leg, you knew if you didn't stop the bleeding soon, you might pass out or die.

You covered your mouth when you saw the damage, a bone was sticking out of your leg. You started to sob loudly.

"Oh fuck.. fuck, it's.. it's really bad.. it oh fuck..."

You whimpered between sobs and started to hyperventilate.

"I'm coming alright, j-just try to stay calm"

Simon's voice sounded more frantic. You squeezed the phone in your hand and leaned back on the tree.

"Simon, please! please help me! It hurts, Glob it hurts!"

You cried into the phone, you couldn't help it anymore, you were so scared and in a lot of pain.

"I'm coming, I'm going to help.. I'm near the forest now, alright? Is there anything significant near you?"

".. I..I'm under a tree!"

That as all you could manage to say as you cried harder.

"That doesn't narrow it down.."

He mumbled and continued to run, he started to hear crying as he ran into the forest, he started to move towards the sound.

He stopped in front of you, he looked so worried. He quickly ran towards and kelt down over you. You saw him and smiled weakly at him as tears fell down your face.

"Simon.."

You said weakly.

He looked at you leg, he saw your bone sticking out of your body, his eyes widened and he put his hands on your cheeks. His hands were shaking.

"Why didn't you tell me you were hurt this badly?"

"I..

You tried to say something but you couldn't manage to say anything. Simon stood up, he grabbed your phone and put it in his pocket before grabbing your arms and putting them around his neck, he picked you up gently, trying not to hurt your leg any more.

You gripped at the fabric of his shirt and put you head on his shoulder. Even though he was being careful, it hurt, it hurt worse than when you were sitting.

"it hurts, simon, it hurts.."

Your words were almost unintelligible as you cried harder. You kept repeating yourself and you held onto him tighter.

"I know...I know.."

He said in a soothing voice, trying to calm you down a little.

He rush you to the candy kingdom hospital and on the way there you passed out.

The staff grabbed a bed and simon gently set you down. They took you to a room and told simon to wait. He called marceline and started to break down when she answered.

"M-Marcy.. can you please come to the candy kingdom hospital.. I.. I found Y/N badly injured.. I.. I'm worried.."

Marceline rushed over quickly, and got there in a few seconds and rushed over to simon. He was hyperventilating and he had his hands on his head, gripping at his hair. Marceline hugged him tightly and he quickly put his arms around her, she could feel his body trembling.

"I-It was only by chance that I helped them.. they accidentally called me.. What if-"

His voice broke as tears fell from his face, Marceline pulled back from the hug, looking him in the eyes

"They're going to be ok.. we have the best doctors here.."

She said trying to calm Simon down. Simon nodded and took his glasses off, wiping his face from tears. They waited in the waiting room, Marceline was holding Simon's hand as they waited. She tried to comfort him and chat with him as they waited.

Doctor princess walked out, telling them that you were fine, but you would need to be put in a cast for a while, she told them that they could see you and that you were awake. Simon sighed in relief, they got up and walked to your room, Simon was almost running. He opened the door quickly and you looked at him, he rushed over and gave you a tight hug, you blushed slightly. Marceline stayed outside, she wanted to let you two have your moment.

"H-Hey Simon..

He quickly sat up and put his hands on your cheeks.

"Are you alright? Are you in any pain?"

"No.. not anymore"

He sighed in relief and rested his head on your chest.

"Don't you ever do that again.."

"What? Fall? I don't think i can promise you that.."

You let out a laugh, trying to cheer him up with a joke. He raised his head up and sighed.

"No.. N-Not that, don't tell me you'll figure it out.. If you get injured, call me.. call SOMEONE! What were you going to do if you didn't accidentally call me?"

He got closer to your face. You looked away, you didn't know how to answer his question.

"I..I.. I don't know.."

You finally said,

Simon let out a tired sigh and put his head back on your chest.

"Don't be so reckless.."

You put your hand on his head, you gently ran your fingers in his soft hair.

"I.. I'll try.."

You said with a smile, he lifted his head and looked at you.

"Good.."

You both looked in each other's eyes, he slowly moved his head closer to yours and you shared a kiss. He moved away slightly and started into your eyes.

"Simon.."

You grabbed his cheek and smiled at him.

"Thank you for saving me.."

He put his arms around you. He was so glad that you were actually ok, he couldn't help but kiss you again.
