Mamoru is NOT useless in the Anime

Yes, yes, the memes are funny and all, but this is simply objectively not true and I'm rather exhausted of folks critiquing the character/the anime as though it were.

I will hopefully kill his BS once and for all.

"He just throws a rose and leaves!"

For those who have actually watched the anime (or even just the very first episode) to describe Tuxedo Mask as 'useless' is reductionist to the point of being outright disingenuous. In particular when this argument is made in such a way as to negatively compare him to his manga counterpart, who is put over as allegedly superior on this point.

The original 1992 Sailor Moon anime had 200 episodes, 3 TV specials*, 2 theatrical shorts and 3 films, with these latter theatrical releases being dubiously canonical to the anime. Mamoru appears in the overwhelming majority of those 208 entires, even accounting for the final 34 episodes where he was dead/functionally absent almost all of the time. Even if we seriously low balled things, the majority of those appearances feature him partaking in the following scenario.

Sailor Moon, often with her fellow Senshi, are fighting the monster of the day (maybe it's a higher ranking villain, or a general threat they are dealing with).

They get into a tight spot where either they or whoever/whatever they are trying to protect is in danger from whatever threat they are combatting.

Then, out of the blue, a rose slices through the air and imbeds itself into the scenery like a dart. Typically, this action saves the lives of Sailor Moon, her friends or whomever they might be protecting.

Tuxedo mask gives a speech and either leaves or else sticks around to see Sailor Moon perform her finishing move that effectively ends whatever threat she was dealing with, often with Tuxedo Mask being the one to prompt her into performing this finshing move.

For the sake of argument lets pretend that the above is literally the sum totality of what Mamoru does in regards to the superheroics of Sailor Moon. How could anyone describe the above as 'useless'?

If his interventions regularly save Sailor Moon's life then that is a zillion miles away from useless. For him to be useless, his actions need to be superfluous, pointless, contribute nothing. Even if he contributed a little bit he would by definition not be useless. And saving the protagonist's life is much more than 'a little bit'. If the protagonist dies then the story is over. Evil has won, the world is doomed.

And this isn't even considering all the ways Mamoru contributes OUTSIDE of the above scenario.

He has, whilst untransformed, stabbed a Lemures with a knife to save Sailor Moon.

He has willingly acted as a magical life support system for Chibi-Usa when her Pure Heart was stolen, an act that maybe anyone else could have performed but it is still a noble thing to do, in particular when it freed up the more powerful characters to go get her heart back.

He personally met up with the Outer Senshi to learn about them on behalf of the other girls, going alone which might have been dangerous, but the episode also gives the impression that he, as the oldest member of the team, was better positioned to get info from the older Outer Senshi who has a demeaning view of the younger Inner Senshi. In this same episode, he tried to convince the Outers to join forces with the Inners, acting as a diplomat.

He went 1-on-1 with Rubeus to defend an injured Sailor Moon who was herself acting as a human shield for Chibi-Usa

He has personally gone on a one man mission to infiltrate the Black Moon Clan's HQ to rescue Sailor Moon from being sexually assaulted by Prince Demande.

Mere episodes later he and Artemis went on a scouting mission to learn more about the Malefic Black Crystal

He formed a double team with Sailor Moon to tackle a tennis themed Youma, an encounter that involved more than a singular rose throw and a speech. One of the multiple times he got more directly involved in fighting the monster of the day

He literally carried Sailor Moon on his back to save her when they were both trapped in an elevator courtesy of Nephrite

He was prepared to willingly reveal his identity and hand both himself and his Rainbow Crystals over to Zoisite in order to save Sailor Moon and her friends

The love he shared with Usagi directly led to the manifestation of the Silver Crystal, to the salvation of Chibi-Usa when she'd been brainwashed into Black Lady & the creation of a new weapon and transformation brooch for Usagi in season 3

As Prince Endymion, he went against his own subjects and risked his life to infiltrate the Moon Palace and warn his beloved Serenity that his home planet was going to invade her home

He took not one, not two, but three impalements to protect Sailor Moon's life

More often than not he has acted as reliable emotional support for Usagi and Chibi-Usa, encouraging them, helping them with homework or just being there for them. i.e. he is an imperfect, but ultimately good husband and father. Which is particularly impressive considering he hadn't yet married his wife nor conceived his child.

There are those who might scoff at the latter. Is emotional support really useful? Well, putting aside how the Sailor Moon universe clearly demonstrates how magical power/energy is directly linked to emotions, this is categorically true in the real world as well. There are no end of testimonies from fire fighters, doctors, people who have serious illnesses, or soldiers that the emotional support of thier loved ones have kept them going and kept them alive. So, this is rather useful for our heroine Usagi who's job is that of a Sailor Soldier.

The Outer Senshi

Furthermore, there is an inherent hypocrisy in the 'Mamoru is useless' narrative because such criticisms are never levelled against other characters whose typical role in the narrative are similar to Mamoru's.

The most popular season of the original anime was season 3 (Sailor Moon S) and one of the biggest reasons for that show's popularity were the fan favourite Outer Senshi: Sailors Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Saturn. Let's exclude Saturn as she wasn't active as a Senshi for most of season 3. Uranus and Neptune's role in the first half of season 3 typically amounted to

Attacking the monster of the day, usually to the same end that Mamoru's rose throws did, i.e. a distraction or last minute save

Swiping the Pure Heart of that episode's victim

Checking it over before concluding it wasn't a Talisman

Leaving, or else at least standing by as Sailor Moon administered her finishing move on the monster of the day

Golly...that seems just as 'useless' as Mamoru now doesn't it? In fact, maybe more so considering they weren't even trying to help Sailor Moon in the first place. In fact, during their second appearance, they unintentionally saved the lives of a powerless Usagi, her friends and an innocent civilian to check a Pure Heart, then uncaringly left them all in danger.

You know who then saved them immediately after that? Mamoru!

Later when he too was overwhelmed by the monster he directly contributed to saving the day as his emotional bond with Usagi generated the Spiral Moon Heart Rod, upgrading Sailor Moon and giving her the power to save everyone.

During the third sub-arc of season 3 (where the recurring villain was Mimet of the Witches 5) Sailor Pluto joined the Outer Senshi's ranks and their role in the typical monster of the day plots became yet more minimal. More than once, the trio literally appeared but did nothing, something that had also happened at least once before Pluto joined the team. Examples include (but are not necessarily limited to) episodes 97 (The Labyrinth of Water – Ami Targeted), 116 (Sunny Skies After a Storm – A Friendship Dedicated to Hotaru) and 118 (Battle Inside the Demonic Space – The Sailor Guardians’ Gamble). In some of these instances the Outers deliberately choose to do nothing.

Barring 2 of the specials mentioned above (one of which was a clip show), the Outer Senshi were wholly absent in season 4/Sailor Moon SuperS. In one of those specials, upon learning that a new threat had arisen Uranus and Neptune...choose to continue their road trip and leave the fighting to Usagi and the others...How...useful???????

They, along with Pluto and Saturn get much more involved during the course of the final season/Sailor Stars. Even then, Saturn only appears in the first few episodes and the last few. Pluto only gets involved in the monster of the day schemes once or twice and Uranus and Neptune three or four times, if that. Whilst Mamoru is barely involved at all in this season, he at least has the excuse of being dead for most of it.

So, the fan favourite Outer Senshi got far LESS involved and were LESS useful than Mamoru typically was in the course of the whole show. In fact, even if we exclude the first two seasons where (exempting Pluto) the Outer Senshi hadn't appeared yet, Mamoru overwhelmingly contributed MORE than the Outer Senshi did.**

The Other Senshi

Much the same can be applied to the Sailor Starlights. The Starlights more often than not actually got MORE involved in fighting the monsters of the day during season 5 than the Outer Senshi did in season 3; or at least they were interested in defusing a direct and active threat to innocent lives. But even they literally showed up and did nothing on at least one occasion.

Whilst the Starlights are nowhere close to the Outer Senshi's popularity, they are also never subjected to the 'they are useless' narrative Mamoru frequently is.

Nor in fact are the Inner Senshi of Sailors venus, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury. Now, whilst it's easy to argue due to their superior screentime, the fact that they often initiate combat with the monster of the day and are generally heavily involved in whatever crisis is happening, that they are obviously more useful than Mamoru is.

And you know what, even including the rare occasions they too show up and do nothing else (or do a last minute save like Mamoru is prone to do) this is perfectly true. It is also perfectly true however that the quartet have rarely ever defeated any monster of the day on their own. The overwhelming majority of the time the Inner Senshi act as a distraction to the Monster of the day or else sufficiently lower its HP so that Sailor Moon can actually beat the monster. That might be more useful than Mamoru's typical contributions, but, call me crazy, it seems like Sailor Moon is doing the lion's share of the work there. So, how 'useful' are the Inner Senshi really if we run by the 'Mamoru is useless' narrative?

If Mamoru is useless so are many if not all of the more popular heroic characters in the series.

But...how useless is Mamoru in the anime compared to the Manga?????????

*Well, one special with three segments, but go with me on this.

**They were mostly absent from season 4 whilst he appeared routinely in that season. Meanwhile, in the season he was mostly absent, they rarely helped out.

Obviously, there are real life writing reasons behind that difference, but my point is why is the fandom not treating the Outer Senshi as 'useless' too?

i lied about being done with the character threads, so here's some more troopers. they're part of the kusu kusu gang; the upgraded version of the trio with more members.

Power: Bubble

This lil' dude is a pro at surfing, and they're also pretty intelligent, too. They only speak in unintelligible chitter-chatters (which everyone can understand) and they're quite the potty mouth, too. The substance dripping out of their nose isn't actually snot; it's a special fluid they uses to shoot bubbles out of their nose. The bubbles can trap objects and people inside to send them to different locations.

Fun Fact: The creator said he had a striking resemblance to Tutter from Bear in the Big Blue House.

Goober (he/him)

Bisexual GNC Cis Man

Age: 25

Powers: Freeze + Phantom

Recognize this spooky disc jockey? It turns out, he used a fake alias to spy on Dokuro Kingdom, so that makes him a traitor! He's quite the wildcard, and his bloodlust is really high in battle. He has ice powers to freeze people to death, and he also has ghost powers to pass through walls, possess anything, and communicate with ghosts.

Fun Fact: He's one year older in Season 2, because a finshed season = a brand new year.

Mildew (she/he)

Omnisexual + Bigender

Age: 23

Power: Poison

She's usually lazy and messy, but that doesn't mean she's a terrible fighter. He can spew out purple goop that can poison his enemies, and unfortunately he can't control that power.

Fun Facts: Her design is based on Venonat from Pokemon, and the creator said she looked like "an Ultraman kaiju".

Mac (he/him)

Transgender Man

Age: 29

Power: Earth

Mac is stoic and tough, and he's also shown to be warm-hearted. He lost both of his hands in the zombie apocalypse, so he had to go to the hospital to get some brand new bionic ones. He can use his powers to control tectonic plates, so he can make rocks come up from the ground.

Fun Fact: He has visible top surgery scars on his chest.

finshed ru.in so. thoughts. putting it under a readmore!! (apologies if it shows up without one at first, tumblr is doing the thing where it deletes readmores again :/)

ending was uh. abrupt and unsatisfying. also answered exactly zero of the questions i had because, like, it was abundantly obvious it wasn't gre.gory the whole time and was probably the game introducing it's version of the mim.ic

not actually shocked by grego.ry's betrayal (if it even was really him because why would he have control of the elevator?) based on the main game, but i know some ppl must be v unhappy rn

fn.af making me cry like??????????????? sorry but i genuinely cried abt ro.xy don't look at me

on one hand disappointed that the mim.ic was All It Was, on the other glad i don't have to fucking hear people claim glitch/burn is the mim.ic anymore (i hope) LMAO

game did get glitchier with time (two crashes, namely) but still better than main game

okay positive positive positive because the ending and the music me.n part were the only bad parts imo

the creepy objective descs were SO good. "That mask suits you." "Don't you care about your friend? Why aren't you trying harder?" "Don't think about it, just do it."

animatronic jumpscares were SO GOOD like. i think because most of the scares were primarily not the death jumpscares, it gave them leeway to give us the best death jumpscares of the entire franchise

so like. the rabbit when you're using the mask was obviously glamr.ock bon.nie trying to stop cas.sie from freeing the mim.ic, right? i strongly disagree with the sentiment that it was glitch, that makes little to no sense to me

so we agree that illusion disks are canon to security bre.ach (i personally don't think they are in the other games but it's debatable) right? we agree that we don't know that ANY of what cas.sie was seeing without the mask or with it was real right? we agree the mask wasn't literally making her teleport through solid objects right? we agree that we actually have no idea that anything we saw or heard was accurate to reality right?

we need to talk abt the claim that va.nni masks were used by all class v technicians. do i believe this? not sure but it's a concept i have GOT to hear more abt

btw i do know there's other endings but i think the normal ending is probably canon

this dlc had no effect on my canon, i already assumed glitch was no longer in the pizzeria/etc (i don't think the rabbit was glitch + the animatronics clearly were acting of their own volition)

i know i absolutely didn't find all the secrets but like. unless there's something major i missed (very very very possible), i'm still sad we didn't get more info on the greg.ory being a robot theory. outside of when i'm interacting with definitely human!gre.gorys on here, my william making the blueprint for gre.gory is an important part of his canon to me

Your name is "Equius Zahhak", you are currently involved in yet another brawl against your robots while awaiting the avril of an acquaintance you gained over a shared interest in machinery, she has recently asked you for favor concerning an object belonging to her moirail, so she is bringing it to you for a thorough examination... as you finsh the last robot your butler trots in with a fresh towel and news that your guests have arrived and, are waiting for you down stairs...

"D--> E%cellent,escort them here so I may be done with this swiftly as possible"

You command as you walk towards thr near by work bench to assure your tools and supplies are all I'm order. After a small amount of time your butler returns the two trolls following behind, they both look to be around your age, you at first recognize your acquaintance "KATIAT PYERIM" shes a jade troll with whom's decorated with a pair of goggles, a scaf and matching jacket all displaying the color of her blood, the next is a new troll a gold blood her left eye is teal while the other is a sade of violet, a gray sweater ,a gold skirt, and she appears to be clutching a covered object close to her chest.

"}|{ Greetings highb/ood we thank for a//owing us a moment of your precious time."

She then gives you a small bow, the proper behavior is a slight shock to you as more often then not those of lower caste lack such manners, your acquaintance gives an odd look to her moirail as she begins to speak

"Equius This is My Moirail Musiqa,Musi, This Is Equius. I think he can Help You Out much Better than I can Concerning Your Problem”

She says while gently placing a had on the other trolls sholder, you cough to grab their attention,

"D--> Now that the 100se introductions have been handled what e%actly 'IS' the problem the requires my superior e%pertise?"

Musiqa is still for a moment, she gently unveils what she was holding, and as it is reviled you find its a violen ,a white and broken violen, you scoff at this and then return to your work bench, snapping you fingers.

"D--> Bring it here so I may access what must be done!"

Musiqa places the violen gently next to you l, then steps away, you begin to study the instrument..

"D--> Honestly it 10dicrous that I..."

You pause to you notice a small ingraved symbol on the side

"D--> What is..?"

You quickly recognize the symbol to match your own and by the age of the instrument it could only mean one thing.

"D--> HOW DID YOU AQIURE THIS?!

You shouted angerly at the gold blood

"D--> THIS VI01EN HAS CREATED BY MY ANCESTOR, HOW DID A 10WB100D LIKE YOU AQIURE SUCH AN OBJECT!!!??"

Musiqa was clearly frightened but you where to far angery to care...

"Watch Yourself Zahhak, if You Don't Chill the Fuck Out real Quick, I'll do it For you."

Before you able to respond to her remark you here a nosie that you know all to well, one of the less damaged robots has reactived and was charging straight towards Musiqa, in moment of pure instinct you shove her out of your way and attack the rouge bot, it takes a few hits, but youswiftly destroy the robot. You turn you attention to your guests, Katiat appears to be looking over Musiqa for damage no doubt a bruise is now froming where you had shoved her. You approach the two while preparing to apologize, but you stop, the area where you had made contact with her was spot less not a bruise in sight.

"D--> It...It can't be"

You wisper in shock, you move katiat away from the other troll and examine her yourself, your eyes where not deceiving you, this lowwblood this complete stranger was some how Immune to your strength.

All sprites you see here completes every unique character sprite for this entire mod. Now the thing left to do now is to finish them before moving on towards the different retro artstyle for these player sprites. THIS MEANS THAT I ALSO HAVE TO MAKE 6 MC SPRITES. THEN 6 MORE MC SPRITES

I am definitely going to make this the new tagline for the mod, the infamous quote you knew was coming. CotLC+ EXPANDED AND ENHANCED.

A brand new toned down version of the crayon easter egg sprite is added.

Doki Doki Literature Plus brought a change for the PlayStation version that became very notoriously bad. Let’s just say it will be in the mod hence, EXPANDED AND ENHANCED.

The roadmap has made it past it’s first milestone and now shows the mod one quarter of the way done.

The mod is uploaded to Steam Workshop at long last! I plan on doing online multiplayer with everyone that participates in this mod! It can be anything from leaving a comment, submitting ideas and things I can implement into the mod such as remixes, artwork, gameplay mechanics.

I plan to stream this mod frequently on my Twitch page! Viewers are free to participate in online multiplayer with me! Co-op, competitive, voice chat and more.

The entire purpose to me with online multiplayer is to speed up production for DDLC and future mods I plan to restore!

Portraits are finally getting done.

Added Monika Christmas sprite.

Mc clone’s head is replaced with a camera. [ Just Monika. ]

Added the tempo heart which shows a knife and a cute heart.

Fixed the tempo heart knife to face the correct direction.

Added little adorable monika’s when you pause the game. Awwww...

Finished all little doki’s for the pause menu, and arranged them.

cleaned some hud elements and changed lock key to a pen.

Hearts and cursed hearts are changed, hud elements more smooth.

Mary is now a different Natsuki with a cupcake of natsuki’s face. Try it out!

Mary clone is also natsuki.

Heart transplant item is a Yuri easter egg. Here’s a hint, OH NO!

Permanent hearts now all have the girls accessories, this is indeed an easter egg. Though you may need to check the files in the mod folder if you have already obtained them. The order starts with Sayori, then Natsuki, Yuri, then Monika for last.

This nearly completes the large chunk of the mod’s ui. Fun fact, the original mod back in 2019 actually had a much cleaner ui to suit doki doki’s aesthetic.

Massive progress since last mod update.

Added recolor’s to many textures. This is a temporary change for feedback purposes.

Smoothened the UI.

Added emeralds.

Added mini doki’s to the shrines.

Improved a new workshop logo.

Almost reached the next milestone.

Added Tea, Coffee, and Apple Juice to replace the potions.

Sound effects from doki doki added, some could change, might add more.

Visual tweak to highlight the milestone progress bar.

Sayori’s sprite and clone finished with new bow.

Natsuki’s sprite and clone finished with a visually upgraded hair that comes with front and back detailed pigtails and more polish to her red hair accessories.

Some of the shrine sprites had been published a little too quickly. 3 of these Shrines now add more detail and cuteness.

Crypt of the Necrodancer has just released a new DLC with quality of life changes that I think the devs only made this DLC because of me.

This is my Project for Shape and Compoisition and today I will be teaching you how to do it.

For this Project you will need the following:

Brushes for Ink (water color brushes recomended)

9 x 12 sketchbook (mixed media sketchbook) (blue cover)

18x 24 illustration board (water color paper) (wooden pannel) (if you can’t find get bigger and cut it to size)

Found objects (orgainc shapes, varied shapes, sizes

Fine point pen (micron)

Ruler

Black Indian Ink ( Higgins India Ink)

To start I chose my found objects which was a variety of skateboard gear and screws a laid them out flat with out letting the objects overlap too much so you can differentiate objects in the finished product.

-After taking the photos you want to get 9x12 sketch book and draw a rule of thirds grid with the ruler measuring the thrids of the paper for accuracy.

Then take out your sketch book and using your photos as a refrence you will draw the outline of your subject and the empty space inside it.

Be sure to make a light sketch with clean lines.

Once you are done take the sketch and outline the pencil with a micron pen and a sharpie to color in the space.

You will be doing a study of the 4 different pictures you have of the subjects.

After finshing your studies you will pick the study you are most satisfied with and scale the favorite study onto the 18x24 illustration board

This follows the same steps as the studies except that since the drawing is so big you will fill it in with the water color brush and the Indian Ink you have.

Once you are all done be sure to erase any leftover pencil markings.

And Yay you are done!

How the BAU React to Being Haunted

👻🍁🎃 in honor of spooky season 👻🍁🎃

Penelope

penelope is very, very respectful of the ghosts in her house

initially, when she hears the footsteps in the middle of the night or someone whisper her name only to find no one there, she freaks out a little

but she always approaches the topic with the upmost respect

she begins to greet the ghosts every morning and tell them good night

she asks them to stop hitting her walls in the middle of the night because it scares her

[they do]

she talks to them and it brings her a sense of comfort almost because she knows that they won’t hurt her

she finds the history of her apartment and adjusts accordingly to the ghosts’ needs

there was an older woman who had a fondness for Prince that passed away before she moved in

so every time penelope leaves for work, she’ll put on Prince for the woman to enjoy while she’s gone

Spencer

spencer is a very rational man of science and for weeks he chalks up objects moving on their own as him misplacing them

or the whispers he hears as paranoia

or the shadows he sees out of the corner of his eye as just his eyes playing tricks on him

he kinda ignores what goes on around him

one day, he addresses the spirit as “gideon” when he’s reading and his shoe goes flying across the room with no other explination

somehow, rationalizing the spirit as gideon helps him cope with not only being haunted, but with gideon’s death

if he’s running late for work and he can’t find something he needs, he’ll ask “gideon” and the thing he was looking for will show up

he doesn’t want to know if the spirit really is gideon or not

because the fact that it responds to gideon is enough for him

it freaks her out

but she puts on a poker face for her own sanity

it gets harder because henry starts to talk about his new friend

she ignores the fact that her son’s new friend is described exactly like rosalyn

and ignores how henry is starting to sing michael the same songs ros sang her [she never taught her son those songs]

she ignores everything at first because she had never told her son anything about their aunt and she’s so scared that maybe her sister holds a grudge for not doing anything to help her sooner

one day she’s reading in the house by herself when she swears she hears her sister’s laugh

her heart freezes, her finger marking her place in her book as she looks around the room

she timidly croaks for her sister

and watches as her eastern swallowtail shadowbox falls from the bookshelf and lands safely on the floor

it’s almost as if ros is letting her know she’s here and that she’s not mad

now any time henry talks about his new friend “r”, jj feels warmth instead of fear because she knows her sister is watching over her kids and protecting them

Emily

she really doesn’t mind the ghosts

she lets them do their own thing

if they want to bang on her pots and pans in the middle of the night, so be it

she’d probably do the same if her bed wasn’t so damn comfy

they want to stomp up and down halls??

let her grab her boots to join them

it’s a god damn party

the only time she even acknowledges the spirits is when she’s busy with work

the ghosts will start acting up and she’ll calmly go “martha i respect you and your spectral routine, you know i do, but can you chill for like five minutes while i finsh up this report?”

they stop every single time

Derek

does a double take every time something paranormal happens

does he question it?

of course he does

is his immediate conclusion ghosts??

absolutely not

and if something happens he can’t explain, he’ll come up with the most ridiculous conclusion

he saw his car keys get thrown across the room

must have been one hell of a gust of wind

because somehow admitting it’s a ghost is scarier than just pretending it’s not

Hotch

does not have the time for this bullshit

do you seriously think aaron hotchner is afraid of a ghost??

he was stabbed nine times in his own home and shot point blank a handful of times

he was about ready to fist fight a serial killer on death row

he’s not scared of being haunted

he could literally come into the house and see a little annabelle wanna be doll running around his apartment that’s been covered in pentagrams

he’ll just shrug and go “well i’ve been through worse” and continue on with his day

Rossi

what ghosts he has no ghosts

(cue his cabinets swinging open on their own)

nope, no ghosts whatsoever

he constantly uses the excuse that his house is “settling” to rationalize paranomal activity

and he has no idea what people are talking about when they tell him his house is haunted

“dave we literally just saw a man standing out in your backyward vanish before our eyes”

“huh must be the house just settling”

Tara

realizes she has ghosts when she comes out of her bathroom one night brushing her teeth to see a figure standing in her hallway

she pauses and flips on the light, only to watch the figure disappear when the light is on

when she turns it back off, the figure is there again

she kinda just stares at it for a long time and is finally like “well okay then that’s a thing i have to deal with now”

and goes about her normal routine

she tells the ghosts her jokes when no one else is around to hear them

and will constantly over exaggerate her response to the paranormal activity to make the ghosts feel accomplished

Luke

he approaches things almost like penelope

until he’s home alone and hears a fucking little kid giggling

he immediately stands, grabs roxy and spends the night on spencer’s couch

because luke alvez can deal with ghosts

he can deal with demons

he will not deal with a little kid ghost

nope he absolutely draws the line at it

he hears the kid singing one night when he comes back to his apartment and is like NOPE

call a priest

call the exorcist

burn down the house

burn down the block

because there is no way in HELL he is going to go back there no sir

he moves into a new apartment a few weeks later because fuck his deposit he is not spending the night with that creepy ass shining twins wanna be bitch

Matt

rationalizes, rationalizes, rationalizes

to him, there’s nothing that can’t be explained

and there is no paranormal reason for what happens

he accepts it as something rational and moves on with his life

he has a lot more things to worry about than his “haunted house”

Alex

she acknowledges the ghosts are there

but really what can she do about it

she’s not going to get rid of them, they were here first

so she kinda sets up some boundaries

she lets the spirits do their own thing and she does her’s and they don’t bother each other

she’ll let them toss around whatever the hell they feel like as long as they don’t touch her books

or harm her

she never threatens them

but the ghosts must get the memo because they never touch any of her books

Kate

(cue me inserting something unoriginal about her being the ghost whisperer)

no but seriously she approaches the ghosts as if they do need help

if they don’t, they wouldn’t still be there, right?

she adjusts her life according to the needs of the ghosts as much as she can

and takes the time to talk to each one to learn if she’s doing good by them

of course they never respond

but she’ll know because her things will be left alone

(if the ghosts aren’t happy with the way things are, they hide her keys and make her late for work)

Elle

tells the ghosts to fuck off

they’ll start their little whispers and call out her name

and elle won’t even miss a beat before calling back “fuck off” while continuing her tasks

she doesn’t have the time for this haunted house bullshit

and they really think they can scare her???

she’ll square up with a spirit if they showed themselves bet

she’d like to see a dead bitch try her

Gideon

is the ghost

isn’t the ghost haunting spencer

but is screaming somewhere at a denny’s in tulsa thinking he’s stuck in hell

I’ve made a Legacy Challenge!

ARTS & CRAFTS GEN 1 | GEN 2 | GEN 3

Everytime I play the Sims without a goal I feel lost and bored. After finshing the amazing NSB I've got the inspiration to write down my own Challenge. I've added a few gameplay aspects that I've never truly explored before, such as the** floral arranging** skill. Keep in mind that the objective of this challenge it's to make either an artistic or a very handy Sim. In addition to that every Sims will have a “bad” trait, because none is perfect.

Same shit, different fucking day.

Don't ask me how I'm balancing six days a week at my job and band practice three to four days a week, because I truly have no fucking idea. I tried college but once the band formed, I cut that out of my schedule completely.

It's been about a months since the argument with Gwen and Tiffany went down and our band hasn't practiced. I tried to be sympathetic for the longest time, but it's beyond ridiculous now. Veronica, Tiffany, and I have been wanting to do band stuff but Gwen refuses because she's mad that Tiffany is dating a man SHE broke up with. It's not like Tiffany did it intentionally, and the fact that she's letting her own personal stuff interfere with our band is really pissing me off.

We've all got shit going on, but Gwen loves being a drama queen. Veronica has suggested kicking her out of the band a few times and Tiffany has echoed the same sentiment, but I don't think my patience has thinned to that extent just yet.

But it's getting there.

Young musicans aren't hard to come by, but finding someone who fits the band's sound as perfectly as Gwen's adds on a large layer of difficulty that I'm not prepared for. We'd have to start all over, teach our new singer the songs, establish chemistry...it seems exhausting and more trouble than it's worth, at least for the time being.

"Hey Julie." Dylan greeted me as I walked past, something he does whenever we work together. Sometimes it ends up being the best part of my day.

As the day progresses, I find myself smiling a lot more than I usually do. Customers are easier to deal with and a large amount of them were actually friendly. It created a light-hearted atmosphere in the restaurant that we don't get too often, unfortunately. The time seemed to fly by.

"Good luck Dylan." I said goodbye and walked out of the front door. Dylan was always there a hour before I arrived, and an hour before I left. The rest of the staff is pretty cool, but Dylan is the only one I'd consider to be a friend of mine. He's essentially the less musically inclined male version of me.

I head to our rehearsal space for the second time this week. I've extended the invitation to Gwen, as if she needs an invitation to show up to her own fucking band's rehearsal. If she doesn't show up tonight, she's out. Our time is just as important as hers and we're all tired of it being wasted.

I'm usually the first person to show up, but some days that isn't the case, like today.

"Hey." Gwen says shyly.

I give her a blank stare and proceeded to put my things down on a table nearby.

"Nice of you to finally decided to show up." I stated plainly.

"Look, I know I've missed a lot of practice and I totally understand the three of you being pissed at me, but can you please take one second to see this from my perspective?"

I couldn't help but scoff at what was coming out of Gwen's mouth. Has she seriously taken an objective look at the situation and came to the conclusion that she has a leg to stand on.

"Okay fine. You broke up with a guy, he moved onto Tiffany, you were so jealous that he wasn't falling you around like a lost puppy, and you took it out on Tiffany."

Gwen rolled her eyes but before she could speak, Tiffany and Veronica entered the room. Anger was written all over Tiffany's face, while Veronica seemed to be as cool as a cucumber.

That's one thing I've always liked about Veronica. She can keep her cool in some pretty tough situations. That's not all there is to like about her, though. She's utterly gorgeous. Her dark skin and hair that was almost always styled in an afro were truly beautiful features that I couldn't help but admire. She's beautiful, smart, talented, and has an amazing personality. She's the full package.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Tiffany wasted no time begining the screaming match we all knew was about to go down.

"We're in the same band." Gwen managed to maintain her regular tone of voice, but if I know Tiff like I think I do, and trust me, I do, she'll keep going until she sets Gwen off and then everything will go up in flames.

"Clearly the band hasn't been very high on your list of priorities for the past four weeks. Finally make time in your schedule for us, princess?" Tiffany was speaking with her genuine emotions, but part of her wanted to get a reaction out of Gwen. She knows how Gwen feels about being called "princess".

Gwen looks like she wants to say something to Tiffany that would no doubt escalate the situation even further, but she takes a deep breath and regains her composure.

"I'm sorry, okay? For everything. Julie was right, I should've maintained my professionalism above all else...and I shouldn't have put some guy over you and our friendship."

The three of us looked at Gwen semi-shocked. That girl never apologizes for anything. Instead of responding, Tiffany tells Veronica and I that she's stepping out for a smoke.

I'm not sure if we should discuss things further or let bygones be bygones, but it's not exactly my place to make that call.

Tiffany returns just as I finshed tuning my guitar and walked up to Gwen. If I didn't know Tiffany, I'd say she was going to punch Gwen in the face with the speed she was moving.

"That whole situation was fucked up, but I know how hard it is for you to apologize to people, so I forgive you." Tiffany pulls Gwen in for a hug and for the first time in awhile, things seem okay between the four of us.

"I would like to reiterate that Gwendolyn said I was right." I smiled proudly.

"Yeah, don't get used to hearing that from me."

It was nice while it lasted, at least.

Band practice turned out to be super productive, and it hasn't been that way in a long time. We got a lot of work done today and hopefully we can keep this up for awhile. We spent about 7 hours in our rehearsal space and it felt more like 5 minutes. Time really does fly when you're surrounded by positivity.

The girls and I said our goodbyes and parted ways for the night. Tiffany had mentioned that we haven't seen each other this past month like we usually do. Of course I feel bad about that, she's been my best friend for so long. But I've been spending a lot of time with the Guns N' Roses boys...Axl in particular can be a persuasive little shit when he wants to be. I've already told the guys that Tiffany's birthday is this weekend and they can't keep monopolizing my time. I need more feminine energy!

"Julie!" I hear someone call out. I recognize the voice as soon as it hits my ears.

"Hey Slash, what's up?"

Minus Izzy, I'm becoming pretty close with the members of Guns N' Roses. I just wish that man wasn't so goddamn illusive.

Slash and I walk and talk. Clearly he's decided we're hanging out tonight. I don't mind it much since Tiffany's going out with Victor tonight, Gwen is visiting her parents, and Veronica is doing god knows what, like always. So even if I wanted to make plans with someone, it's not like I had anyone else anyway.

"I don't think anyone's at the house, besides Izzy." From the way he phrased his sentence, it was a clear indication that Slash had no interest in staying at the "Hell House" with Izzy, he usually opted to spend his nights the same way he spent his days: completely wasted. It didn't matter if it was alcohol or heroin, if it got him high, he'd take it.

But this isn't about Slash. I want to see Izzy...I might have a slight obsession with a man who has never even said a single word to me, but I mean, he's absolutely gorgeous. There's something about him that keeps me drawn to him and I'm determined to figure out what it is. No matter how long it takes me.

"Then let's go to the house."

Before Slash can process what I said so he could say no, I grab him by the arm and run as fast as I possibly can while dragging a grown man behind me. It only takes about 15 seconds of running before I realized, Slash in tow or not, I'm very out of shape. I'm running out of breath, determined to get to the band's house. I'll be wheezing all the way down Sunset Boulevard and trying to convince myself it's worth it by the time we get there. But knowing me, it won't.

We enter the house and lo and behold...

Izzy isn't there. Despite me struggling to breathe, the look of defeat plasters my face and Slash starts laughing his ass off.

"Izzy's out working, I just wanted to see how you'd react. Sure didn't think you'd go runnin to our house, though." Slash manages to get out through his fit of hysterical laughter.

"Slash! Why the hell would you do that?"

"Because I know you like him. I got the confirmation I needed. Just wait until I tell Duff!" Slash heads for the stairs, but I grab his arm before he starts his ascent.

"You cannot tell Duff." I tell him seriously.

"He can't tell Duff what?" Duff appears from the kitchen

"And why are you out of breath? And why are you holding Slash's arm?"

"She totally likes Izzy, dude. I told her that he was here and she dragged me through the streets. We almost got hit by like, 5 cars."

My shocked face slowly twists into a look of confusion as Duff rolls his eyes, pulls out his wallet, and hands Slash a 20 dollar bill.

"Dude, you guys bet on whether I liked Izzy or not?" I was part shocked, part confused, and part mortified that my crush on Izzy was that obvious. Izzy seems like a smart man, so I couldn't stop thinking about the possibility of him knowing and not talking to me because I'm a weird chick who likes him without even knowing anything about him.

"Yeah, and now I'm out 20 bucks because you can't control your goddamn hormones." Duff says in mock frustration. I ignore his joke as the overthinking sets in further.

"Does...does he know?"

"Nah. The man's pretty oblivious, plus he doesn't pay much attention to anything except drugs, work, and music. It's fine." Duff reassures me.

Then Izzy walks in. The three of us get quiet when he shuts the door behind him. He looked at the guys then looks me up and down. He then looks back up at my face like he's done several times before, but this time he doesn't look away when our eyes meet, not immediately, at least. I feel my heart start beating a mile a minute at the momentary eye contact and feel myself longing for it again when it breaks.

He nods his head and walks up the stairs. I guess his first words to me will have to wait another day.

"What does Izzy do for work?" I ask, to no one in particular.

"He's a drug dealer." Duff replies nonchalantly.

I don't know how to respond to that, so I don't. Slash and Duff have their own conversation and I find myself wondering what kind of person Izzy is. I don't know what to think. All I know is he's a damn good musician, an equally gifted writer, and a drug dealer.

Who the hell is Izzy Stradlin?
