Back on my shifter fic The Lost and The Found which is being written for @monsterrae1 birthday

Buck’s just had some pretty upsetting news.. his family gather round.

“Shift? It will help.”

It’s a request, nothing more. Bobby feels him nod and then Buck moves away and the familiar sandy fur and blue eyes are back. Chim presses in close at once and Buck whines quietly in response.

Bobby makes a phone call then shifts himself, presses black fur up against Buck on the other side to Chim. It doesn’t take too long for Buck’s loft door to open and Athena and Hen to round the corner.

He lifts his head as Athena closes the distance between them. They lock eyes, understanding each other even when in opposite forms. Hen changes first, joining the pile, then Athena shifts too after a quick caress to Buck’s then Bobby’s ears. She’s large and strong and Bobby’s so proud to be her mate, to be able to love her and receive her love in return. She takes her place next to him and while he lowers his head back to rest on Buck’s flank she stays upright. Alert and ready to protect her family in whatever way is needed.

You know what I loved about 04.08 (breaking point) 🙂, the few thing I liked because I HATED this episode 😬😡😠, besides Taylor being likeable and every Buck and Chris moment, was the negotiation scene 😁. It just reaffirmed the idea that Hen was the bookie of the station, Eddie being relaxed enough to start the bet of the guy jumping ( a little ooc but whatever 😞), and all of them muttering under their breath jump, jump, jump.😲 Even Bobby!!!! Like come on cap you are the dad of these idiot dumbass children, you have the one brain cell of the team while on duty 😮. And Buck wasn't a part of this 😲!!!!! 🤔 Like did he have the brain cell at that moment so he could talk to Taylor? Because, though he was complaining, he was calm and mature? 🤔 Idk that's how I saw it. But yeah this scene was awesome and funny 😁😆😂.

The whole scene, or I should say scenes, where Buck is struck by lightning and taken to the hospital are so family it hits so hard, like hen and chim immediately attending to Buck as older siblings do, because he is in every sense their baby brother, Bobby having to hold Eddie back and giving him the task of driving, something that is hard for him, to keep him focused so he doesn’t fall apart, and then getting to the hospital and Eddie immediately takes Bucks heart into his own hands because it has to be him, Bobby listing off Bucks medical history like the father he is, things only a father would know, and Eddie yelling at the doctors to do more than their best because the man they just wheeled away is the love of his life, his husband, all but legally, that one scene shows the entire dynamic of this family, in fact that whole buck coma episode showed the exact roles of the entire family, that episode was the first I ever watched and it told me all I needed to know to start from episode one
