I think one of my characters is finally starting to take shape. I’m excited to get it on paper. It’s been the only thing I’ve been able to think about all day. “Guy” will help the others take shape too.
I need help choosing a name and I was hoping you would help me
I don’t know if I would be able to continue writing this WIP
I was thinking a male / unisex name for “Guy”. “Guy” is her college roommates best friend. He’s tall tan skin with an air of summer glow. He’s come from a comfortable home life and has a slight superiority complex. Extremely empathetic. He’s tall and has dark hair. The most interesting hazel honey eyes.
If you are down to help drop a name <3 :) <3

So here it is boys and girls, my first book I wrote and let me tell you... As someone who has a broken heart herself right now... I literally kind of put a lot of my own pain in this. But instead of harsh reality, this should leave you with a big smile and a warm and fuzzy feeling in the end. You might also want to strangle or slap these two idiots occacionally, maybe you'll also have a chuckle and later on it might even get spicy 🤭 So definitely not safe for work peeps...
Tumblr media
But in the end... well, you'll see. 🤗 So get yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea, snuggle in and get yourself a treat with my two idiots Jasper and Oliver. 😊
Have a look here~
Oh and for anyone who is interested, I also made the cover myself. What do you guys think? I might change it later on, as I can never settle for just one 🤭 lol... anyway. For now I very much like it. Have fun!

: ̗̀➛ writeblr intro
Tumblr media
Hello there! My name is Jo (shocker!), I am in my 20s and I write stories and poems in my free time. I used to have a writing account on here many moons ago and I really miss the community, friendship and support of talking with other writers about our projects, so I am trying to rebuild what I've lost.
: ̗̀➛ about me
very interaction friendly. we're all just people on here (also please tag me in games forever)
science fiction! science fiction is my everything. it's whatever. I'm normal about it
themes I write about a lot include: death anxiety, internalized bigotry, general dissatisfaction and the complex and confusing nature of existence
scifi flavour wise i like doing weird time or multiverse stuff
I'm also queer (lesbian, aromantic, whatever), if that matters. This comes up a lot in my writing be it explicit or not.
I write in German and English
: ̗̀➛ my wips/projects
⸻ On the end of everything 🌠
An "essay" on how the multiverse died, those who noticed, and how they learned to live with their fates
[reblog tag] [posts tag] [wip intro]
⸻ Poetry 🗒️
I don't post my poetry on tumblr, instead I self host it here. I love writing poems I get such a kick out of it!
My favourite poem of mine atm is this one: Lines Out Of Context
⸻ Starship Lovelace 🚀
The Starship Lovelace is an Earth vessel far from home. The human crew mysteriously disappeared decades ago - now a small group of aliens has claimed the ship.
[posts + reblog tag]
A collection of half-assed short trips, I'm trying to build my own kind of space ship show here. It mostly serves as a way for me to keep writing and get ideas out of my head without much drafting or anything. I've got a pretty good vague plot for it in my head and I'm trying to do it justice with my newer, more thought out chapters. You can see all entries: here.
The stories are hosted on the space story collection pubnix/website Cosmic.Voyage, which i just know some of you would get a kick out of.
: ̗̀➛ inspiration
on the comedy side: the two Dirk Gently books, the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, the Red Dwarf novels and Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen in particular (British people are grim, I like it)
on the more serious side: Frankenstein (my favourite book everr), many Doctor Who hiatus novels but especially Dead Romance by Lawrence Miles, the works of H.G. Wells (love that guys scifi that just completely misses the mark but was properly scientifically researched for its own time) and, to an extent, Der Tod und andere Höhepunkte meines Lebens by Sebastian Niedlich, which is a book I remember liking a lot as a young-ish teen
generally I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who and Star Trek
I sometimes reblog posts about media i really like on here too so for more check out the tag: good media
So. The first thing I’d better do is invent my audience. I'll pretend there are thousands of you out there, and I'll pretend you're all just like me; young, smart, pretty, and sarcastic (NB I’m probably being ironic here, although I’m not really sure any more). Just so we’ve got some common ground, I'll pretend you were born sometime in the late 1940s… No, sod that. I'll pretend you were born on 15 August 1948. All of you.
Well, why not? If you’re going to invent an audience, why not invent one in your own image?

Second chapter of my book!
1st chapter here:
@nico-di-angelo-aaaaa @averagehopelessguy @andrew-and-flower @camstargone @dontbothermeimtired
Hope yall like it
1064 words
My dog can fly
Once Ariel and I had left, she showed me where she found me. This place had some sort of different vibes, like some crazy vibes. There were so many weird little creatures, I don't think I was in England anymore...
There were little animals that looked like flowers and mushrooms. They were so tiny that they could probably fit in your hand. 'Aw, that's adorable!' I said because they were. I wanted to step on one. 'Where are they going?' I asked as we continued walking into the forest. 'And what are they?' 'They're plants.' Ariel informed. 'Oh.' 'Not a very creative name.' I said (very smartly). 'No, they're plants that have been enchanted by magic users.' Which is stupid because magic doesn't exist. 'Magic doesn't exist.' 'Yes, it does,' 'especially here. This is a magic forest.' Oh. 'I knew that.' I said, because I did. I one-hundred percent knew that.
The forest did feel like it had some ominous magical stuff everywhere. Ariel informed me that the unnaturally tall trees that I fell into were so tall because of the magic in the ground and nature, and sometimes it can make the smaller plants sentient (hence the weird flower creatures). Ariel said they were called Asi.
The further and further we got into the forest, the taller and taller the trees got; every step felt like it was being watched. We stopped. 'This is where I found you.' She said, pointing to a pile of blood. Woah, was that all my blood? 'What were you doing this far into the forest? It feels... creepy.' 'The deeper into the forest, the more magic there is. I usually don't go this far, but I heard screaming and a large thud, which i presume was you.' She said, and if I fell around here, then Ruby shouldn't be that far!
'Why is the forest magic, And how did it happen?' I asked, the thought had been chewing at my mind for a while. 'Well, 16 years ago, a queen named Lilith had come to Emaia. She said that she wanted to make a deal with the king that her son, Killian, and his daughter, Eliza, would both get married when they were old enough. But the king said no because he knew Lilith was a magic user and that anyone who was to make a promise to her would have no choice but to follow it through.'
'You see, magic users are people that have been born with powers, and no two magic users have the same ability.' I didn't sign up for a history lesson. She continued anyway, though.
'Some say what made the king really decline, though, was that Lilith was dangerous. Her kingdom, Fenadi, were known for their magic users; Lilith's father had caused chaos throughout the entirety of Emaia because his magic was destruction. He could destroy anything with just a thought. There was a war between Emaia and Fenadi, and many lives were lost, the Queen of Emaia had died by the hands of Lilith's father, so the proposal of his daughter someday marrying the grandchild of the man who killed his wife had outraged him.' Wow, this was the most interesting history lesson ever.
'When he declined Lilith's offer, though, she was angered. She had gone out of her way to try and mend both the kingdom's reputation within each other. Lilith had decided that she had been disrespected, and so she had waged another war on Emaia. A war of which is still going on. The king banned all magic users from ever entering his kingdom after that-' There was a noise in the distance. Some kind of animal. 'Ruby?' I said before dashing towards the sound. 'Eric, wait!' Ariel said as she ran after me. The animal had sounded hurt. Was it Ruby? Was Ruby hurt?
I ran. I ran as fast as I could, tripping over logs and bumps in the ground. The noise was definitely Ruby. It sounded just like when she wanted my food, even though she had just eaten. God, Ruby must be hungry. I'll be sure to get her some amazing food. 'Agh!' I tripped, allowing Ariel to catch up to me.
'Eric! You can not just run off like... that.' She trailed off. 'What is it?' I said, looking as her face twisted into one of alarm and confusion. 'Is...' she started. 'Is that Ruby?' She said, pointing towards a dog-like creature.
That was Ruby, alright.
It was her, just, it wasn't. Ruby looked the same except for the red scales covering some patches of her fur, the stubby horns coming out of her head, and a pair of scaly, golden-red wings.
'Ruby?' I said cautiously. She looked over at me for a second before recognising me and running up to me, licking my face and making it wet with dog spit. I would've been really grossed out if I wasn't so happy.
'Ruby!' I said, giggling and wiping my face with my clothes. Sorry, Sebastian. I still hadn't gotten my own clothes yet so I've been wearing the biggest clothes ever. Like, I get that he's buff, but I'm pretty bulky too, if I do say so myself.
'I thought you said she was a dog. Why does she have wings?' Ariel said, doing something that looked like a silent prayer. 'She is! Well- erm, was.'
'Okay. Okay. That's fine. That's cool. It's totally not a dragon dog thing that could probably kill us all. Nope. Cool.' 'Hey! She's a she, not an it.' I said as Ruby licked me again. How could Ruby kill us? Just because she has wings and scales now doesn't mean she's gonna hurt anyone! Ariel was just being dramatic.
Ruby seemed to be limping. 'Come here, girl.' I said as she came over to me. I grabbed her paws and saw that she had some scrapes and cuts on them. Well, it's better than what happened to me.
'Wanna go back now? I'm getting cold.' Ariel said, gesturing at the sky. Damn. It was almost pitch black. Thanks a lot, history lesson. 'Yeah, let's go. Come on, Rubes.' I said, picking her up, careful not to hurt her.
Even when we got out of the magic woods and back to the house, I couldn't seem to shake the feeling of being watched.

Day 4 of Planning My Fantasy Novel 🌿🔮
I woke up really late this morning, so we're doing some afternoon writing with a Fanta fruit twist instead of a coffee!
I didn't quite finish my three act plan yesterday, so that's the first goal for this afternoon, and then to flesh everything out by planning the other plot lines ✍️
I'm going to do a proper post for my novel and what it's all about soon, as well as giving you a bigger moodboard for the whole book!
I found a group of local writers this morning, and they've invited me to a write-in next week, which I'm so excited for!!
The more writer friends, the better!

Hello Again + About My Book...
Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening, my friends. It's been a while, huh? What a year it's been!
What's that? It's only February, you say?
Well, it sure is! And what a year it's been! Longest January of my life, I tell you.
Anyway, I'm popping in today because I want to talk about my book, The Smallest Sapling. Been a long time coming, eh?
There's a lot that I want to talk about, so if you're interested at all, details to follow below.
So, first and foremost, I want to thank everyone who has ever shown any interest in my writing career. My first book was exactly that—my first. There's more to come, but that's for later. For now, I have some information to share about my debut Fantasy novel.
Even before it was finished, a few people approached me with questions. They wanted to know the process. They wanted to know how exactly one writes a book in [Current Year].
Well, friends, I'm here to give you some news:
Writing the book is the easy part. Everything else? Ha, well... not as simple, I'm afraid. I'm thankful for the challenges I faced, however, and the lessons I learned from them.
Let's start with some stats:
Tumblr media
As of today, February 1, 2024, I have sold twenty books, whether they were digital e-books or physical copies (paperback or hardcover).
Tumblr media
And in totality, this is how much money I've made from my book in that time.
This might be well and good, until you consider...
...I've spent almost as much money on advertising the book itself!
I'm unsure if this is normal for new authors, especially those who self-publish. I'm unsure because, naturally, I've never done this before now. I wanted to take some advice from others before jumping into the deep end, so to speak. Sink or swim; learn as you go! That was my thought process.
I will say, however, that I am very proud of my work and what I've accomplished so far! As I said, I've learned quite a lot. I want to share what I've learned with all of you, especially those who have approached me and spoken to me about wanting to write a book themselves. I'm the first of my friends and acquaintances to do something like this, and I'd like to be a lighthouse for anyone lost at sea.
In a separate post coming soon(?) I want to talk about the writing process itself. That is to say, how to write a book, how to self-publish your book, and I'd like to share advice with my friends, contemporaries, and anyone else who is interested!
And, in the end...
Writing this book was, honestly, not very profitable at all. However, I'm not discouraged in the slightest. This is what I expected, after all.
Something important I learned: I am a little shy when it comes to just talking about my book to other people, even off the web. I know I didn't advertise as much as I could have. That 20 could have been a 30 if I was a little more assertive and little less shy.
This is also why most people try to go the traditional route when it comes to publishing their novels. They get big companies to do the heavy lifting for them, which is commendable, but just as perilous!
(More on that later!)
But whether I made ten dollars, or one dollar, or even no dollars, I don't regret it one bit. The journey is far from over, and I love, with all my heart and soul, every single step I've taken so far. It's a winding path, and my head is held high, and I'm chasing the sun.
I wonder what's at the end?
Let's find out together.
Until next time ❤️

YALL!!! GUESS WHAT'S AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER?! 🦷
Is It Bad if My Gums Bleed When I Floss? is ready! I can't believe it's been less than a year since I first mentioned this collection, and I'm so happy with how far it's come. Like, wow. That's insane.
This is available for e-book ($10) and paperback ($20), and if you're interested in themes of self acceptance, recovering from SA and abuse, and queer identity, you may enjoy this collection! Please do consider reading or reblogging - I would love you forever and ever.
If my eternal love doesn't convince you for some reason, perhaps this review from Aimee Nicole might help:
" This collection is artfully written...It felt like I was the tooth fairy myself. Continuing to show up at night and collect treasures left by the narrator. There is something very eerie and relatable about the narrator who once filled her mouth with toys and candy, progressing into adulthood and then filling that same mouth with grout and pebbles and spite." - Aimee Nicole, author of Panoramic, Daily Worship, and Ghost Dance
Thank you everyone! <3

It's 1396 words.
@nico-di-angelo-aaaaa
@camstargone
Here:
A Cursed Birthday
I woke up this morning thinking all was well, and it was just another ordinary day, for me, anyway. But no. I don't even get one birthday of peace. It's always something every year. I mean, last year,  a bunch of rats ate the cake. The year before that, my hamster, Charles,  the magnificent, committed suicide.  And this year, I get sucked into a magical portal. Yay.
It was normal. Nothing happened the entire day, and I was sceptic, to be honest. But no. The one thing that couldn't have happened (due to its... well. Impossibleness) just had to happen. Thanks a lot, God. I swear I'm cursed or something.
It was around 8 pm by the time I finally let my guard down about my evil-birthday curse. I was walking my amazing dog, Ruby. She is this adorable black and white pitbull that puts any and all other dogs to shame. So naturally, I was showing her off... at 8pm, in winter. In my defence, I'm definitely not the smartest person I know. I mean, what lunatic would be out at 8 pm in winter, in the UK? Besides me, of course.
I was walking through the nearby park, like I usually do. But this time, something had caught my eye. The park was empty except for me and Ruby, but there was an object emitting some sort of blinding light. The kind that if you were to look at it for more than a few seconds, then when you would finally look away, you would have little dots dancing around your vision. When I picked it up, which I kind of see was a bad idea, it was like holding fire. I dropped the glowing thing, and Ruby started to bark at it, the burning feeling still prickling my hand. Then, right where the object had dropped, some sort of vortex had started to open, sucking me in. The last thing I remembered after that was falling.
Thankfully, the forest that I fell into had some pretty tall trees that cushioned my fall (not really). I angelicaly landed (crashed) onto the ground.'Ow! Damn it, who put trees here?' I yelled because it really really hurt. My body made this cracking sound, and my leg had bent in a super unnatural way. There was bone and a lot of blood. A lot. I blacked out (I don't know why, though)
When I woke up, I was on a bed in a sort of cabin-like room. There were 2 green sofas against the walls facing each other, with a little coffee table in the middle and a kitchen, in which I was in the middle of on a table, not a bed, which was probably why my back hurt like hell. There were two people in the kitchen, one baking some sort of bread and the other washing some dishes.
'Ow.' I winced as I tried sitting up. Pain shooted to my leg. 'Oh! You're awake.' Both people had turned around and were now looking at me. 'Your leg was pretty badly hurt. How did you manage to do that?' The girl said, looking at me with disapproval. She had long, blonde hair that looked so straight she wouldn't have to brush it for days, and it would still have zero knots in. Her green eyes seemed to dance like a flame. She wore a lovely white dress dotted with purple flowers and all sorts of jewellery. 'What?' I questioned, still not entirely sure of what was happening.
'I found you out in the forest. You were unconscious and badly hurt, so I took you and brought you here. We had to do something about your leg, though. Sorry.' She said, which confused me until I looked down.
'AHH!' I screamed. 'Calm down, it's not that big of a deal.' The man, a strong, muscular dude with dark skin adorned with freckles that looked to be in about his forties. 'Not that big of a deal!? My leg is gone!' I yelled. 'Where did it go? I had my leg this morning.' 'Now you dont.' He replied with a proud looking smile.
'Now I- where is my leg!' I demanded. I mean, who just takes people's legs off without asking? 'I told you we should have asked, dad.' The girl said to the man. 'Exactly! Thank you!' I said. 'You guys can't just take my leg!' I yelled, directing the words at the man. 'I'm Jericho, I prefer Eric though, since you didn't even ask before you chopped my leg off!' I said (cool name, I know). 'I'm Ariel, this is my dad, Sebastian.' She said. 'Well, Ariel, lovely to meet you.' I said, shaking her hand.
'I can make you a new leg, Jericho. No need to be a baby, now, is there?' He said with a grin on his face. Rude. Before I could say an awesome comeback, he started measuring my right leg (which was still there). After a while, he walked away to go make my new leg, letting me talk with Ariel. You could tell she was one of those really pretty girls who didn't try to be pretty.
'Soo... where is this because the last thing I remember is falling out of the sky.' I said, looking at her expectingly. 'This is Emaia. Also, what did you mean "falling out of the sky?"' She questioned, looking confused and tilting her head to the side. 'Well, I was just walking my dog, Ruby, and I kinda just fell, and there was this glow-y thing and- My dog! Ruby!' I yelled, standing up from my position on the sofa, forgetting about my leg and immediately falling to the floor. 'Ow.'
I'd forgotten all about Ruby! Did she fall through with me? Is she safe? A million things were going through my head, and I didn't even notice I was hyperventilating until Ariel's dad, Sebastian, had started to shake me lightly. I had managed to tuck myself into a weird looking ball against the couch because my left leg was, well, not there. After a long, long time of uneven breathing and being told everything would be okay, I finally was able to slow my breathing. 'Sorry.' I said. I mean, I just wasted these nice (ish) people's time. 'It's alright, love,' He said in the same soothing voice he had been using for the past 10ish minutes.'Ariel had been trying to calm you down for a while by the time I came back in here because I found you a leg that would match.
He went and got me the leg, and after him showing me take it on and off, he let me look in a mirror. Well... I looked like I had just fallen out of the sky. My dark hair was more matted than usual with a few leaves sticking out, a few cuts that would easily heal on my head from falling through branches, my new leg which was made out of a amazing-looking black metal and my clothes were covered in blood. While I was checking myself out, Ariel had explained what had happened before Seb had gotten there.
'Yeah, we are probably gonna have to find you some new clothes.' He said, patting me on the shoulder. "For now, you'll just have to borrow some of mine.' He said, Ariel going upstairs and grabbing me a pair of clothes that were 1000% too big. Man, he is bulky. The outfit looked like it came directly out of the 1900s, but still, I looked at amazing as always.
The prosthetic was really weird getting used to, but after three days, I was good enough not to trip every five seconds. I didn't want to wait any longer because I didn't want Ruby to be out there any longer. In my time staying, it wasn't that hard to figure out that I was nowhere near home. These guys didn't even know what Sonic the Hedgehog was!
Me and Ariel left to go look in the forest around where she found me, and Seb had to stay because he runs a bakery! (Who would've thought.) We left at 7, after having the best food I have ever eaten, except for the cake at my aunt Jessie's funeral. That was some good cake.

https://www.reddit.com/r/FranceDetendue/comments/1939xvi/instant_autopromo_jai_publi%C3%A9_un_bouquin_de/
Ses propres mots :
"Bon, allez, je me permets, petit instant auto-promo.
