NEW COSTUME JUMPSCARE
Woo! Lambert from Cult of The Lamb is done!! I've actually had my eye on COTL for a HAUGHT minute, but the timing was finally right I suppose. Oddly enough, I never made a master design for this cosplay, i just put my faith in the heart of the cards and here we are. I do really really love those lil' sheep shorts though.
Also I'm no stranger to heels (as yall have likely noticed) but this was my first time making hooves. Going into it I remember seeing lots of people claim: "theyre not hard to walk in, its just like regular heels!" AND BABYGIRL...I think I saw the face of god three separate times wearing those just for this costest. walking in them was an ordeal, I've never had this many near-trips. they do make me 6'2" though which is fun.

WOO this was a fun cosplay- it’s always important to have a comfy, easy to move around in cosplay for non-competition days of cons- and Purah served just that! Plus, it was also exciting to do my first “on trend” cosplay, and getting a full cast of Zelda characters together at the meetup- we had some excellent shenanigans lol

A Love Letter to Jazzpunk, by Ed
It's crazy how fast time can go by when you're enjoying yourself. It's been about three years since I first encountered this game, and I could not be happier with where it's brought me. I've learned so much and met so many wonderful people through it.
For a game that can be played in 2 hours and a half, it sure is complex; so full of jokes and content that can take literal hours to be taken apart. It's brought me closer to an appreciation of things like abstract art, the cyberpunk genre, analog tech, vintage clothing, suits, among a few others.
I remember my first interaction with the game. Funnily enough, it was not through Ranboo like what I usually tell. Back in the day, 2021, I was a mere high school student who, to cope with the horrors of the pandemic, used to be into the DSMP. Woo. Yeah. No shame in admittance. Well, only a little bit.
There was this one cosplayer I used to follow on TikTok (if I recall correctly, their name is Fern [they/them]); mainly because of their c!Foolish cosplay. I was drawn to them and their energy and the way they portrayed characters! So, naturally, I followed them and interacted with their videos every now and then.
On the 23rd of June of 2021, I found myself doom-scrolling on the app (as one does), and I came across one of their videos, though this one was not from any media I knew or was used to watching from them.
The song spy? by WHOKILLEDXIX started playing, and there he was. Glasses and (makeshift) orange tie. Business card. Coat. A little unhinged, yet classy. The Editor.
I feel as if I was so drawn to him because of what I wanted to do after high school. I wanted to study literature in college to become an editor myself! I wanted to correct people's texts, be annoying about it and get paid for it! And would you look at that, the name of the guy is quite literally The Editor. LOL.
As the days went by, I found myself going back to the video, waiting for them to upload more, to feed into my curiosity. I loved the video I saw so much I saved it to my gallery the exact same day I saw it.
Then came the second one, with actual footage from the game. "Quick, look behind you." The Director says, and the camera cuts to the ground, and Fern's shoes. I heard their voices for the first time. "Improvise, I know you'll do well by me." He says again, and I grow ever so drawn to it. Five videos are more than enough. And while I don't look it up just yet, it's in my head.
Until the 25th of July 2021! Like I said, I used to be into the DSMP, though by then, the fixation was fading, and I found myself in that limbo where nothing quite caught my attention. On that day, Ranboo tweeted something about a Jazzpunk stream, and it instantly caught my attention. I was quick to put down anything I was doing to find out what it really was.
And though I was not particularly interested in them, or their streams anymore, I was hooked! I was not the kind to stay for an entire stream, yet there I was. Two hours and thirty something minutes of being beamed in the brain with pure madness.
And then it was over. And I found myself gripping every single piece of fanart I could find with my bare hands, screaming because there had got to be more, right? There had to be more.
And there was! That's when Tumblr became my main form of internet presence. First was Instagram, then came Twitter, and well, would you look at that, I made it here.
I started drawing. I must admit, my first few drawings were atrocious, but looking back on them now, I feel proud. People say that when you fixate on something, your art develops as you go, and they're right!
A year and a half are all my prior account lasted. By the same name. I made a stupid joke to my boyfriend, sending one (1) spam message in their ask box and it was gone! And so, bangobeep 2.0 came to fruition. But that's not the point.
Back when I first got into the game, the need for connection was strong. I found myself craving the partnership; the long, late-night talks about little details of the game, the roleplaying, the scenario thinking, and so the Jazzpunk server came to life on the 13th of August 2021. Named Jazzpunk Moment. I sent a DM to the people I saw most often in the tag back then: Pangolin-404 and Vendotlover, both of which I admired very much!
I remember looking at their art and reading their fanfics and thinking to myself: 'Wow, what I'd give to be able to talk to the cool kids!' And well, I did! I talked to both, and they both agreed to give me their discord, after which they (and a few others with time) joined the server.
Some time after that, I befriended them personally through our mutual love for the game and similar interests, as well as through general chitter chatter about me being hyperactive when on caffeine, 404/Caligula telling me about Sammy Lawrence from Bendy and the Ink Machine, and Ven telling me of xeir OC whose name came from Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss. I’m happy to say nowadays I still talk to both Caligula and Ven very often. In fact! I consider Cali one of my best friends, and I am kinda gay dating Ven. So, you know. Fun things bring fun people together. :)
Then came around people like Jazz Jazzanon, Zippy Zippycup, Jazzhands, Noah, Wither, and a couple others that, while I won’t mention, made this experience something wonderful for me.
I can’t quite find the words to express this something so dear to me. Jazzpunk, as short as it is, changed my life in ways I could’ve never imagined. I’ve started researching things I thought I’d never be into, started books I loved, got into music I had never listened to before, and it all helped build me as a person these three years. It’s brought me unimaginable amounts of comfort and joy, and I don’t think I’ll ever find something else that will make me feel this whole.
I could go on and on about how I have projected so many little aspects of my life onto my interpretation of it. About how the way I interpret Polyblank is highly influenced by those I love. About how the paintings in The Editor’s house fit him and his personality, but those are topics for another day.
The world out there is wacky and crazy, and Jazzpunk does a great job at feeding into the fact it can be strange, it can be difficult, and it can be fun.
So, to 10 years of community, 10 years of happiness, 10 years of a game that will stay with me forever, and many more to come!
Thank you, Jazzpunk.

Costume thoughts up to ep 7:
Ed starts as his fucking vampire viking clown, but once reborn and made up hes literally a blank slate (his cat boy look).
The little romper looks like something children used to wear and Ed spends that ep trying to make good like a little kid, and then playing like a little kid (fishies!) hes also restless like a kid.
Ep 6 hes back to standard blackbeard look. After he and Stede make love and he symbolically trashes his leathers, hes wearing an unexplained turquoise style robe (some say blue, my point stands either way). Stede’s whole look since Zheng’s is dark blue/turquoise. First season he was also blue/light turquoise. Ed’s taking on his look.
Then even more so he liberates Button’s human clothes. Very light faded blue jacket and shirt. Shirt mimics stede’s start of the season, jacket if were saying colors mean something tells us whats about to happen. I posited last season the brighter the clothes, esp lighter colors, showed him blossoming. This season for Ed its a reverse. Hes confident in dark turquoise when breakfasting with his bf, but the light clothes are after stede makes the comment about save me from death next time. Now hes less sure than ever.
Meanwhile Stede starts as i said turquoise and white , but in ep 5 got the cursed red suit. Ed recalled fine things well which was about Ed’s symbolic heart (cloth). Now Stede is the literal symbolic heart. Is it cursed? Not really, much like the suit. But circumstance acts like it, with Ned Lowe and shit.
Stede wore the dark turquoise shirt while killing ned/wooing Ed (ha!) and hes wearing it the next day as well. To me says Stede THINKS they are in sync, and hes more sure than ever. Even after Ed says im a fisherman now Stede is still confident, so much so hes drinking and picks a fight w a woman who wouldve rightly killed him.
Seems that shirt and Ed’s leathers reappear in the finale (nvm how the leathers return we can assume ed is cosplaying blackbeard cuz pirate war). Not sure what that means yet.
Theres also a reoccurring theme of gold when xyz is reborn thru the season. The new flag is Frenchie’s new cat flag, white surrounded by gold. Izzy’s leg is painted gold which Lucius muses he thought was too much but seemed right. Izzy is reborn one more time in drag, with sparkly gold eyeshadow. Lowe’s fiddle seemed a bit gold (was hard to tell) if correct thats also another reborn symbol.
Nvm stede’s bathtub is gold (reborn as a drink tub). Stede also gets a gold earring in 7.

A Mortifying Ordeal
Raphael manages to get to earth after the Nether Brain exploded and killed Tav. Or so it seems. Because Tav is looking alive and eager at this very strange event where many people dress up as people he knows and even himself. Tav doesn't remember anything though. Something Raphael plans to amend. But is it really Tav without memories or just a lookalike that played the game too often? Time to find out. Started from This Prompt the idea evolved into something longer. Mix between fangirl's dream of being pursued by a romantically determined Raphael and the angst of not being who he want/loves/needs.
A Mortifying Ordeal Chapter 2 now up on AO3
Chapter 1 (formerly I've Known You Only Now)
Lemme tell you that while there's lotsa things you get used to on conventions because we're all off our rockers, especially the cosplayers and I must know because I just stripped out of my Tav cosplay. Anyway, I thought I lucked out when an extremely accurately looking Raphael cosplayer started to follow me around and actually kinda wooed my in the same fashion that sopping wet beast of a devil would in-game.
It's not something you expect but it is definitely appreciated. I didn't put on the easy-access outfit by accident, you know. There's a lot you can be prepared for at cons and damned if I wasn't going to make the most of it. Dude looks like a complete buffet.
What one is not prepared for ever, though, is the dude just, like snapping into devil from. Like, are you serious? But there he stands, wings and all, and me sitting on the bed which puts my head in a very unfortunate place.
Because the fuck? Fuck is going on? And also is fuck still on the table? Which is the least of my problems right now, but still very much on my mind. My jaw is on the floor so it's not as if we couldn't just take it from here. I shake my head because as much as I wanna see them devil cock ridges something is not right here.
"Raphael?" I quack, as if I haven't called him that the whole time. It hits different now, what with the smell of cherries trying to drown out the sulphur. I gag a little. In reality sulphur is not very sexy.
He looks down and man those eyes do you in. Black hole indeed. Pull you straight in and spaghetti your every thought.
"Yes, very observant." The word roll from his lips like velvet gravel.
Not gonna lie it is observant. I met no fewer than five Raphaels today and I don't think any of them would've pulled this stunt. Could've. I shut my mouth and try to stop staring at him. Guy saw my phone gallery. Guy knows I think about sucking him off six times from Tuesday. The fact that he's still standing here is a miracle.
And I don't know what to do. There is no script for this. I can hardly squeak 'sex?' up at him, or can I? I wish he'd stop looking at me as if I hold the answers to his universe. I know nothing. I am more out of my depth than a lugworm in the Mariana Trench.
"Cat got your tongue?" He takes my chin with one hand and damn, he is several degrees hotter than human. In any respect, mind you. I nod into his hand which is kinda nice. He has big hands. He is – well big. Tall. Huge. I swallow. Anyway.
"I don't know what to say," I get out. "Or do."
"What did you intend to do before I changed?"
I bite my lip for honesty. It always hurts in the end so I might just start out in pain. Won't last as long then. I smile, or do my best approximation. Nothing but the truth. Let it end in flames early.
"Dinner," I shrug. "Drinks. Sex."
He doesn't leave. Doesn't laugh. Good signs so far. But he leans back and looks down his impeccable nose at me with a slight scrunch. "Communicating more clearly than ever, I see."
It's one thing peeps like me are supposedly good at. Clear cut information instead of dancing around the subject. Damn, I wanna dance around him all night long. If my stomach wasn't a-rumbling, I'd just have skipped the first two step in the evening's plans.
I rise carefully and manage not to bury my snout right into his crotch and forgo dinner after all. "So, you're still game?"
"I am still here, am I not?"
Not quite an answer but I'll take it. "No offence because your devil form is quite lovely, erm gorgeous, well, anyway, I like it a lot, but you cannot leave the room like that. I don't think."
"Whatever happened in here," he taps a finger against my temple and boy do I swallow because claws, "since you left Faerûn. Your eloquence has certainly suffered."
Should I tell him that it's mostly his vicinity causing this problem? Maybe later. There's such a thing as too much truth. He likes them spicy but nowhere in the game does it say he likes them stupid. Which may just break my back in this. Ah well. Where was I? Apart from staring at him.
"Maybe it'll get better," I suggest. "I'm not reacting well to new things." Unexpected things. Devils turning up on my doorstep and turning out to be actually a devil. And not running from my horny person. I hold out my hand.
He transforms back into his human form in a short burst of hellfire. It licks over my outstretched hand without burning which is a decidedly strange sensation.
"Better?"
"Less suspicious in this world." I'm glad I don't have to decide. Both forms have their appeal, all three have but I'm not sure when a wise moment is to disclose I am also an unapologetic monster fucker.
"Then let us proceed." His smile is scorching. So much charisma, the sheer weight of persuasion. I am weak. Doesn't help he takes my hand because that is also so hot and his skin is so soft and my mind is already in full swing putting those deft digits absolutely everywhere.
"One last thing." My fingers curl around his tightly, just in case he's gonna run now. I don't want him to, but well. "What do you even want with me?" I want to know. "What is your plan?"
"My – agenda is, of course, to rekindle your memories."
Oh. No. Frilly fuck with fangs. He thinks I'm Tav!Tav, like, the real thing. Oh dear. Oh no. Wow. Like, never. I was so very far from the real thing, like so far. I couldn't handle a weapon, not even walk for a day and saving a whole city? Unlikely. Impossible.
"I am – doubtful?" He completely ignores my worries and takes my elbow.
"Understandably so." He guides me towards the door. "Give it time. Give me time."
Hells, I'm done for. He can get all the time I have left. The timbre in his vowels is enough to get me on my knees. Question is if he has the patience to actually spend time with me. How long until the lack of serious Tav memories turns out to be my natural state? Not sure I wanna be around for that realisation.
But – that is for another time. Dinner is waiting and the view is going to be utterly amazing. I sigh and lean against his shoulder. Raphael lets out a small huff but it's appreciation, I'm sure of that. Dude didn't hunt me down all day to play hard to get now. I hope.

something it occurred to me to wonder recently and thought if anyone would know, it would be you ;p
when Eva began back in 1995, how much was it anticipated? both narrowly in otaku circles, and more widely among 'people who watch TV in Japan'? as far as i understand the history, Gainax was pretty niche back then and mostly known for dating sim games, but the visual style of Eva is so immediately striking...
like, I know nobody quite realised just how huge it would become, but was there some sort of excitement for a new robot anime from the people who made Wings of Honneamise, Gunbuster and Nadia? or was it a complete surprise?
Hm, good question! I am not super confident in my answer, so my bet is "highly anticipated but not crazily so". Gainax was known but niche, having 'Otaku' success with as you mention Wings and Gunbuster...until Nadia: Secret of Blue Water came out in 1990. This would not have put Gainax per se on the map, as Toho and Group Tac were branded as the primary producers, Gainax as secondary, but it definitely put Hideaki Anno on the map as director. The show was wildly successful, aired in prime-time slots - which, fun fact, meant that its first season airing was interrupted due to breaking news about the onset of the First Gulf War - and Nadia herself became Best Girl in most of the Newtype/Animage style polls of the time until being dethroned by Sailor Mercury in 1992. Nadia was definitely still 'an anime', and it was a kids show in too many ways to be a real breakout. But it was the top of anime of its time, no debate.
Its success is what gave Anno the ability to finance Evangelion, and it meant he was also able to pull a lot of 'big talent' for branding purposes - which ofc was intentional, Anno is no fool. Hiring Usagi from Sailor Moon's voice actress Kotono Mitsuishi to be Misato for example, when Sailor Moon was the #1 anime of 1994, is certainly because of her talent but also because of her buzz, and he has a bunch of hires along those lines to make Eva the "oh man the best of the best are all here" kind of show.
(Again fun fact time - you prob know this one - he also tried to bring Kunihiko Ikuhara, Sailor Moon director, onto the animation staff, and as part of his tactics to woo him named Rei Ayanami after Sailor Mars, Ikuhara's favourite SM character that he famously cosplayed. Ikuhara was alas too busy with wrapping up his time on Sailor Moon and forming Be-papas to make Utena to spare the time)
All this meant that by the time Evangelion was getting ready for its Fall 1995 debut, the cover of the April 1995 issue of Newtype looked like this:
Tumblr media
And hey, if you want some evidence of the buildup discussed, the first page of the cover feature starts off in 1990, with a discussion of the impact of Nadia:
Tumblr media
Even here, once it transitions to discussing Evangelion, Anno is promising "something anime fans have never seen before". It was a common refrain in all the marketing material throughout 1995, that this show was going to be special. The manga adaption actually began print in February of 1995, as a hype builder. The Evangelion team was putting it all on the line.
Also I love that early concept art - the more gundam-esque pilot suits over the plugsuits would have absolutely been my jam, alas.
(This marketing material is more evidence against the mythical "mid-production pivot" theory that fans in the past surmised about Eva's intended story, but a topic for another time)
Still, this is just marketing - who wouldn't say your show will Change Everything, that is your job as a business! For all the inner-otaku hype and rep, Evangelion was definitely targeted at those otaku, and it wasn't marketed to an all-ages demo with wider appeal like Sailor Moon. Anno even remarks in the interview above it would be more of a 'cult hit' compared to Nadia. It had a Wednesday airing slot (at 18:30, not actually super late - another myth, it just had late night re-runs after its evening air slot), not a great time and definitely not a Saturday evening slot like Sailor Moon.
It was a show that instead grew over its airing and broke out of its slot and genre - its finale got audience ratings almost twice that of its premiere (though these numbers are hard to aggregate over different stations). Its about midway through its run that you start getting those "phenomenon of Evangelion" style articles, and when the ending hits the culture critics start jumping in as well and it becomes a true cultural event, and discussion of the show in mainstream magazines starts happening. That wasn't happening in 1995.
I wish I could say it all culminates with End of Evangelion being released and being the #1 film of the year and all that - but while it did well it got its clock absolutely cleaned by Princess Mononoke, which came out the same week. An honourable defeat at least!
Hopefully this is a good answer! Definitely more to be said on the topic, man this would be a great deep dive project...

Harrow Cosplay Planning 2: The Hard Part
Friends, the harder yet more fun aspect of this cosplay is designing my version of Harrow's necromancer robes. While one could look at the series as sci-fi and have a lot of fun trying to design something more sleek and futuristic, like Harrow's canonical cover outfit, I have a deep love for historical costuming and overly ornate bullshit of all sorts, and as such will be leaning heavily into anachronism for the Reverend Daughter of Drearburh's more officious garments.
The line from chapter 7 about Harrow's disembarking outfit reads,
"Harrowhark did not care for any herald. She had drifted out like a black ship in sail, a bony figure wreathed in layers and layers of night-coloured cloth with a lace overcloak trailing behind her; adorned with bones, painted like a dead woman, eyes blindfolded with black net."
"Layers and layers" and "ship in sail" are the first things that give me ideas. When I think of the silhouette of a "ship in sail" I think long not wide. Now, maybe most of the train comes from that lace overcloak, but I think we would have more fun if the main gown itself had some volume in the skirt. I want to avoid any horizontally boned skirt supports, (so no drum farthingales, panniers, or crinoline cages) in order to maintain that long not wide effect. Initially, I thought about basing the main gown on a houppelande, specifically the one pictured here:
Tumblr media
Rogier van der Weydan, c. 1443-1445
But as I thought about the practicalities of cloth usage in the ninth and this line Harrow has in chapter 6 of HtN, where she notices Jod's all-black attire, "he was dressed simply, as per usual, in a black shirt and trousers. The lack of tint had always pleased you. It was very Ninth, even the collar and the cuffs of his shirt that were scruffy and pilled from too much wearing," it became clearer to me that the houppelande was too wasteful in its fabric use. That fits more with one of the Tridentarii's diaphanous dresses than Harrow. So I looked instead to a much less wasteful garment, the kirtle:
Tumblr media
Dieric Bouts, ca. 1455
Specifically, one that has the opening on the side like this example.
Tumblr media
Daisy Viktoria Medieval Dress Pattern
But with more of this shape when standing. I like the continuous cut of the front pieces of the bodice and skirt, and we can add volume and length at the rear gore without adding bulk or extra fabric to the front or side gores.
I want to do a side button (because they actually have buttons! Woo not the 13th century!) opening to try and do something stupid. Given Harrow's propensity for turtlenecks, I want to try and add a side buttoning high neck collar, though whether that gets added to the kirtle or lace overcloak is anybody's guess right now. But if it does end up on the kirtle, getting into the gown will probably be easier if all the openings are on the same line.
To create the "layers and layers," the black kirtle will get a black shift and petticoat, an apron, a shawl, maybe a separate collar garment, kind of like a structured fichu, and the lace overcloak, which will objectively be the hardest thing to source. I'm not adding a surcoat because this is my design and I don't feel like it, it doesn't fit my goth 13th-century rococo vibe.
Speaking of rococo, I am tossing around the idea of adding robe-a-la-francaise-style box pleats to the gown to help support the length idea, but that might be too much.
The veil is a tad confusing. The way it's described in the quote above, as Harrow's "eyes blindfolded with black net," implies it may be more of a fascinator or even a true blindfold, but earlier in that same chapter, Gideon describes how, “The expression on the other girl’s face wasn’t disinterest or distraction, as she’d assumed; even through a layer of veiling, she could tell that Harrow was near-incapacitated with concentration,” making it seem like the veil is over her whole face. Out of a deep love of overdramatics, I'm taking the executive decision it's a full-face veil.
The veil I'm taking from Victorian mourning veils. I know it describes it as "net" in the quote, but in HtN, the Lyctor Hood is contrasted with it as such, "your new hood, unlike good Ninth House furze, was transparent enough to let you see quite clearly". I did some googling, and today it seems like "furze" is just a plant otherwise known as gorse, not a type of cloth or veil. However, if Harrow's veil were simply netting, she would be able to see out of it easily. I think this is a case where Gideon's unreliable narration and inattention to detail is kicking in. As such, I feel justified in using a more densely woven fabric for the veil itself.
Tumblr media
The Met, Mourning Veil, 1900-1920
While this is technically probably Edwardian, the crepey silk used was common throughout the Victorian era.
I also like this type of headband I keep seeing fan artists (I will try to find sources and links in the coming days) put Harrow in to anchor the veil, so I would make a version that is not 50 dollars and is probably smaller.
Tumblr media
ZiptieJewelry
The shoes would just be the shoes I get for the other version of this cosplay.
Adding all of the bone beading to the gown will be a bridge I burn when I get to it, it's going to be rough rough rough. I have no idea what I want to do in terms of rococoing this up, so expect at least a part 4 of the HCP series about that, (3 will be grease paint research) even if HCC (Harrow Cosplay Constructing) begins in the meantime.
If you made it all the way down here, thank you for reading all of that I am excited to work hard on it and show you what I come up with, and if you didn't:
TL;DR Gonna make a black kirtle for the necromancer robes and add some accessories

FEW SMALL UPDATES, WOO!
KEKEK Just a few small updates!
The mask bot comic will be uploaded like it originally was: One at a time! I'll probably finish one page and work a little on the next, just so the wait for the next won't be so long. Along with this, the first page is coming along nicely! As expected, the lining process has been much more relaxing the way I decided to go! I'll be a little busy though, so when it'll come out is uncertain. Know, I am working on it however!
My cosplay SHOULD be done now, save for the mask gahaha! I took a 4 day break from paper mache... to be quite honest, purely because we had 4 days of weather in the high 30's JHSDGFSD that's around 80 - 100 fahrenheit I believe. So I'm getting back to it now! Along with my cosplay news, I also bought the tickets to Comic Con yesterday! So this whole ordeal is full-on set in stone >:33 I find it so exciting that I'll be cosplaying during the 10th anniversary year YIPPEEEE
I'll be a little busy with art for a bit. I plan to open commissions next month, MAYBE late march, just to earn money for comic con. I don't have a job, so commissions will be top priority. This means, anything Mask Bot related will be scarce throughout this period! I'll try and update ya'll with ideas and doodles, aswell as art, but with Comic con planning AND commissions, IDK how well I'll be able to handle my AU ''

im like 5'2, shorter hair like dirty blonde almost brown, pale also bc i dont leave the house except to go to work lol, freckles, blue eyes but they look more gray. i dont emote much at all really. i have a hard time talking about feelings / emotions / much of anything. i only talk passionately when it comes to my interests and things i really like. im very stubborn and overwork myself often. it takes me a long time to warm up to people and be trusting. i dont like touch unless ive been around you a Long time. i like people who make me feel looked out for and who won't be afraid to essentially force me to calm down / take breaks. not super pushy but like. kind pushy if that makes sense? i dont want to be smothered and need my space and would rather like parallel play. i like watching / playing games together and just enjoying time together. i also deal a lot with extreme emotions and hiding them, hence the bpd... my mood swings are a lot of the reason ppl can't handle or deal with me so someone who won't mind them so much would be nice? or someone who can rationalize and help me through emotions and things. i also need a lot of attention but not in an overwhelming suffocating way. im also hypersexual and it has a big part in my relationships and i need someone to keep up with that too. i have tendencies of being a bit manipulative but i dont. like that about myself. i dont like to go out a lot and would much rather stay at home. i dont mind going out to quieter places or just doing mundane things! i also do like going out for food + for conventions or events related to my interests. amusement parks also rock. i have special interests in animals (marine animals, cats, dogs), mythological creatures, the paranormal, cryptids, cosplay, animanga, video games (especially rpgs + visual novels + dating sims + rhythm games), old web, character analysis, horror media, and psychology.
hopefully thats enough? tysm
Trade!
Your genshin match is Wriothesley!
Tumblr media
He's patient, funny, a great judge of character and respectful. What more could you ask for? Once you two break the ice you hit it off rather well. He's very caring as a lover without being overbearing. He's always here when you're in trouble and always looks out for you in his own way.
Wrio is definitely someone who can deal with you, he's patient after all. Especially with his lover. He knows when you're reaching your limit and he has a space in his office just for you to rest. But at the same time he's ready for you to innitiate more activities together. The most important is that you know he loves you. He shows his love through small acts and gifts. He always gives you his time and learned to convey his feelings with little gifts through the day.You always receive flowers, chocolates and a good lunch from him.
When he can, he'd love to go assist events at the surface! When he really can't he'll just order/make the foods he wants you to try. He also always gets a bunch of movies so the two of you can watch them together. As much as he enjoys physical affection, he'll always wait for you to initiate first. Once you give him the go he becomes another man.
Overall, it's a very nice relationship where you don't publicly show your love but people still know it's there. Wriothesley is patient and will always wait for you to come around. And he still gives you gentle pushes to encourage your goals.
Your JJBA match is...Kakyoin!
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, Bruno was a close second but Kakyoin is way more playfull and chill. Both know how to guve you space but Kakyoin knows how to have fun.
Kakyoin shows his love through acts and quality time. He likes going on dates with you to explore new places yet also takes care of you and does his best to make you more comfortable. He's not that big on physical touch either so you don't really have to worry about this. When you engages he'll just happily welcomes it.
He absolutely loves playing video games with you! The two of you spend hours at arcades and the scores are often a tie! He also loves horror movies. One of the most common things you two do is just...sit in a pleasant place and discuss a recent movie/video game you two did. He's also quite cultivated in mythology so he has nice book recommendations. Food isn't much his things so he'd rather follow your recommendations.
Overall, you two are the average high school sweethearts but on the more timid side. People just know that you're soulmates by the way he looks at you.

and on today's episode of crafting adventures for a luke's empyrean's touch cosplay: TEMPLATE AND FOAM CUTTING TIME!!
printed out the template i made and put the pieces together at the size i wanted, which is around 2 and a half feet. my reference for this was cuz when luke kneels with the sword, the handle ends up at a little bit above his chest level, so whatever length My Sword was gonna be had to reach a little bit above mine too. but im a Short Person.
luke plush for scale
Tumblr media
next was cutting the foam and when i ordered the foam, i was at first worried i wasnt gonna have enough. cuz i ordered 6mm thickness eva foam so i'd have to layer it to get a good thickness for the sword with allowance for the carving and cutting
well the foam arrived and i was immediately no longer worried about it not being enough
Tumblr media
IT'S A LOT HAHAHJVFJKA. i have enough that if ever i fuck up my first try, i can totally make another. and Then some
Tumblr media Tumblr media
main parts!! blade, crossguard-wings, and the handle! i'll be cutting out the tinier details (like the inset within the blade, the different parts of the crossguard-wings) later on using thinner craft foam
heres where i have to stop for now, because im still waiting for some steel rods to be delivered, which'll go in the blade and all the way through to the handle for stability. also speaking of handles, Recycle. why get a pvc pipe for a handle when i have this perfectly empty marker that i can just remove all the Stuff inside for the rod to go in there instead and then cover with thinner foam all around, woo!!
i hope the steel rods come soon.....theres a Hunger in me to just continue crafting...

Watching MDZS be like
ME: I love that character.
Never mind, I hate em, but that one - hate them too.
Actually, I hate them all.
Maybe not, I like some.
Those are the wrong ones.
She is cute.
Oh. Yeah. To be fair, they didn’t make a secret out of it, I’m crying just because.
Why can’t I like the ones that have the most screen-time dedicated to them?
Fine, they can be cute. I’ll give them that, I’m so wooing over them.
Low-key want to see XY dress up as other characters. That cosplay was awesome. Also, wtf.
Oh, that’s a plot twist! Too bad I already knew it because of the Jin Ling’s uncle meme.
Oh, I WOULD have loved this character. But I imprinted on the other one first.
This justice system is pretty - accurate actually, though that’s the sad thing.
This would look so good in an Alice in Wonderland AU. Alice in Murderland would work too.

Ok, I managed to write SOMETHING for HakuKai Week. Woo! I have a little more for other days, but gosh I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get anything considering how writing has been this year. Anyway, enjoy? They didn’t want to come out super shippy annoyingly enough, but it’s something -_-;;
Fitting a Role
Saguru, without a doubt, was not meant for the stage.
Kaito studied him critically as Saguru adjusted the sad-looking Holmes costume their classmates had cobbled together. Even the wannabe cosplay Saguru came to Japan in would have looked better. Plus, he was holding himself too stiffly. To think, here Saguru was getting to live his fanboy dream of being Holmes for a day and he wasn’t even having fun with it.
“Okay, stop,” Kaito said. “This is a travesty.”
Saguru glowered at him. “The costume,” he said stiffly, his shoulders forced too tight by poorly made sleeves, “doesn’t fit right.”
“That’s only part of the problem,” Kaito said. “You should be able to embody Holmes even wearing a paper bag. Why are you moving like the stage is full of land mines?”
“Acting is….different,” Saguru said. A lame excuse for a man that had the public eye on the regular. “There’s lines and an audience,” Saguru mumbled, unable to meet Kaito’s eyes.
“So? You deduct in front of people all the time.” Saguru treated solving a case like a stage in its own right with him performing a monologue. It really shouldn’t be this complicated.
Saguru shook his head, a pinched furrow in his brow. “But that isn’t acting.”
“It’s a role!” Kaito said rolling his eyes. “You’re a ‘detective’ so you act like one. Just be ‘Saguru the detective’ for a bit and add in some Holmes flair.”
“But—”
Kaito raised a hand. “Look. How would you enter this room if it was a case?” He watched expectantly as Saguru gave him a blank stare. An eyebrow lifted impatiently.
Hesitantly, Saguru walked to the edge of the stage.  If this was a crime scene… He stepped forward, eyes sweeping the area like he would when searching for clues, back straight and ready for anything.
“Okay, good,” Kaito said. “Now how would Holmes enter the same room?”
“…Oh,” Saguru said like something was finally connecting.
“Exactly.” Took long enough. “The audience doesn’t exist. You’re here, you’re Holmes, and you have a case to solve and people to see through. Now give me that cape and hat thingy.” He made grabby hands in Saguru’s direction. “This is embarrassing.”
Saguru shrugged off his costume pieces, careful not to rip any seams. “You sew?” he asked as Kaito pulled out needle and thread, seemingly from nowhere.
“Yeah,” Kaito said, grabbing the cape first. “A bit. Enough to fix the fit of things. I can’t believe they gave the girls costuming just because they assumed they could sew.”
“Statistically speaking, they are more likely to know.”
“Okay but realistically speaking, most people these days do one tiny project in elementary school—if they’re lucky enough for that—and never pick up a needle again.”
“And yet,” Saguru said, sitting down across from Kaito with a searching look, “you know how to do a fair bit more than that.”
“It’s useful.” Kaito snipped a thread, mentally going through Saguru’s numbers for shoulder width and neck, readjusting plans. Hakuba’s eyes narrowed at him. Kaito could all but feel him skirting around accusing him of being Kid in his mind. “I’m a magician,” Kaito said, because it was true and he had legitimate reasons for learning to sew. “Sometimes you need to make pockets in things that don’t have pockets. And sometimes off-the-rack clothes fit like shit and you just want them to sit right.”
He was good at sewing fast, and even better at sewing fast for temporary things. It didn’t have to be perfect; it was a crappy stage play. It just had to fit better and stay in one piece for the whole play.
“Try that on,” Kaito said after a few silent minutes of work.
Saguru obliged, settling the silly-looking cape on his shoulders again. Not perfect, Kaito reflected, seeing all the tiny flaws in his work and the original stitching, but it was much better than before and Saguru could actually move his arms now without threatening to rip it.
“Great. Now the hat.” The hat was too big, so all Kaito had to do was take in the seams a bit and readjust the brim, which, ok, was basically taking the thing apart and remaking it all over again. Details.
“Why do you care if I have a fitting costume or can act?” Saguru asked bluntly.
Kaito glanced up from dismantling the hat, brows high. “One, you’re representing the class. Two, I’m acting too and I don’t want to hold it together if you choke.”
“I still can’t believe they cast you as Watson,” Saguru said, sounding tired. Kaito didn’t check his expression, the hat taking priority, but he could all but picture Saguru pinching the bridge of his nose.
“I can act,” Kaito said just as blunt. “They’re counting on me to carry the show if you trip up.”
“…Such a convenient array of skills you have,” Saguru said leadingly. “Acting, sleight of hand, making clothing fit, makeup…”
“What makes you think I know makeup?” Kaito asked.
“I overheard you giving tips about blending to Nakamori.”
Kaito sighed. “Stage makeup can be important, and if you’re going to learn stage makeup, might as well learn how to do regular makeup too. And stop implying I’m Kid. No matter how much you insinuate, I’m not going to confess.”
“Not confessing isn’t the same as not being Kid,” Saguru pointed out.
Kaito gave him a flat look before tossing the half-sewn hat in his face. “You know what? You can finish that yourself.”
Saguru blinked at him. “It’s genuinely annoying you to be accused.”
“It’s always annoyed me,” Kaito said sourly.
“You are generally tolerantly-annoyed. Or at least willing to argue.” He turned the hat pieces around in his lap. “I thought…”
“You thought what, Hakuba?”
“We had an… understanding? Dynamic?”
“I don’t mind some banter, but it gets tiring to be accused all the time. You make having a conversation into a minefield.”
“…Apologies,” Saguru said stiffly.
Kaito let him feel uncomfortable for a moment before holding out his hand with a heavy sigh. “I’ll finish the hat. Then you’re running through a scene with me until you can be Holmes to my Watson convincingly.”
Saguru handed the hat back slowly. Kaito pretended to not notice how he continued to stare a hole in Kaito’s head as Kaito bent back over his sewing. “Kuroba.”
“Hm?”
“Thank you.” Saguru sounded so stiff, Kaito could think he never thanked anyone before.
Kaito waved the thanks away. “I already said it’s not for you personally or anything.”
“All the same. You did not have to help, and you are helping.”
“Just act properly on stage and we’ll call it even,” Kaito said.
Hakuba actually smiled at him. A proper smile, not the smug ones he got when he thought he knew more than Kaito or that he had Kaito cornered with some stretch of logic. It was a lot nicer than the usual smiles. “I’ll do my best.”
Kaito finished up the hat as fast as possible. They would act. Saguru would get better at it. And they could go back to their usual circling each other like wary cats some other time. Kaito tried not to let the thought of returning to normal disappoint him.
“Your hat, Holmes,” Kaito said, affecting his Watson persona.
Saguru took it with more gravity than the action deserved. “Thank you, Watson.” As he put on the hat, Kaito could finally see a bit of Holmes in him.

That Time I was All In: Written Review
Tumblr media
Less than 24 hours ago I was in a record-breaking event, among 81K other wrestling fans and my first ever live wrestling show. So I'm gonna detail my time at the event in segments. We shall start with the general experience here, and then I will put as many photos as I can put within Tumblr limits (which means I may have to spread it out a few days) that I took from my phone which aren't absolute crap or obscured by flailing hands, signs and foam fingers XD
I will try to pair them in the hashtag #danwhosallin
[pictures p1: Boxpark] [pictures p2: Zero Hour 1] [pictures p3: Zero Hour 2] [pictures p4: Main Card 1] [pictures p5: Main Card 2] [pictures p6: Main Card 3] [pictures p7: Main Card 4] [pictures p8: Main Card 5] [pictures p9: Main Card 6] [pictures p10: Main Card 7] [pictures p11: Misc]
So without further ado, let's talk about my experience.
My journey to Wembley started on Saturday morning. I had purchased to attend the Box Park party, promised to have meet & greet, early access merch and a £10 voucher for food and drink. Problem however is that I don't live too near to London, and I had only ever been to Wembley once for an England football game vs Montenegro - which much to our disappointment was a direly boring 0-0 draw, so I had to leave for a 7:48 train, I came out the wrong stop where it ate up my ticket and had to walk to the box park, and I was met with a familiar British custom.
Queues.
It may be associated with Brits but we fucking hate queuing, we just uphold a level of decorum when it comes to cutting in, this queue was like an advanced game of Snake, every time you went around a bend there was another bend, then right at Wembley rampway there was zigzag queues, you got wristbands then zigzagged more just to get into the building and: more queues!
All this queuing sadly meant I could hear but missed Jericho, Bryan and the Acclaimed addressing the crowd while in the queue, but I made it in for Tony Schiavone - prompted to curse by RJ City, Lethal and Satnam doing Woos, Jarrett struts and a Macho Man impression, Nigel McGuinness doing some Derren Brown magic with Singh and Lethal (picked the smallest woman in the crowd to lift and neither could lift after the trick) and then Jarrett and Karen doing a Q&A. The Q&A was pretty insightful actually, he talked about mental health, a Terry Funk story, Grado teases, his hatred of Hogan, he outwardly confronted a guy who asked Karen who was better in bed between him and Angle. Hobbs was also in the building, I spotted him when queuing to the merch stand, Aubrey was doing an AEW Heels table too and Rosario Grillo & Dean Alexander (The Young Bucks' 'stunt double' were outside taking a break). There was also an action figure box to pose in, and I did a photo with Lethal and Satnam, the dude is fucking massive, I had to pose with 2 other strangers for time reasons and that was it. If I'm honest I probably wouldn't do it again, you queue more than you explore.
That experience led me to arrive to Wembley on Sunday much earlier, I got there about 2:30, an hour before doors will open. I had an overpriced ice cream that would unwittingly be the last thing I ate for 23 hours and slowly soaked in the surroundings; cosplay, various shirts from AEW and other companies (the guy in the Hana Kimura shirt behind commentary was on my train), there were a pair in full Bret and Bulldog cosplay too. I noticed the Cultaholic guys by their logo and they offered to interview me on 4 questions, though I am a little embarrassed by some of my answers, I said that Rey Mysterio was the most underrated wrestler given how much he overcame, which is still a statement I maintain but if I were asked again I would probably say the most underrated is Malenko, a great technician who never got his flowers. Also a slight addendum since while I would have Chad Gable in AEW like I said I'd probably pick Io Shirai ahead of him.
Regardless, a few steps forward soaking things in I found myself in the path of a woman with her phone up dressed in purple, I wasn't sure if it was a vlog or a panoramic picture but then I realised something:
Oh shit that's Emi Sakura
Had I been half a bit braver I probably would've asked her for a photo, but seeing her taking it in as a fan - alongside Lulu, Mei was apparently at the event but I didn't see her - made me reconsider, wrestlers are people too.
Getting into the stadium was weird, they had me queue at Turnstile G, but I had to go all the way to Turnstile C's area to reach the block I'd enter through. The fact that my wristband said 'Pitch Access' made me realise how grossly I had underestimated my closeness to the ring. I just had to soak that in too, I was on the pitch, four rows from ringside! People were still coming in halfway into the pre-show, that just showed how much were coming.
Attending a wrestling event also had its pros and cons. When the Pre-Show started we could only see the matches, all the packages and interviews done by Renee and Kip were not shown to us, which is a major shame and also kept us out of loop such as people cheering far back and not knowing that's RJ interviewing audience members, and even though there's a chance of getting on tv there's also the chance that people with signs and foam fingers will get in the way of your FOV especially when they feel the camera's on them 90% of the time. Security would also keep asking us to sit down at times, something the ringside seats seemed exempt from, meaning anything outside the ring couldn't really be seen unless on a time delay on the screen. I also felt like the bass of the crowd noise wasn't pitchside, we were chanting and loud but not as loud at it would seem on a tv screen, much of that would've came from the stands (given the larger amount of people there) but it made it hard to hear. But on the other side you get to see the downtime stuff too, so we got to cheer for Tony, Justin, Bryce, Aubrey and Hobbs before the cameras rolled, I also spotted Whatculture's Simon Miller to massive surprise (Oku and Leon Slater were also among the security beaten by Miro and Hobbs).
Pre-show was good, but since we were only privy to the matches it was a bit quiet, part of me thought the Hobbs stuff was just for the attendees, it irked me that no women's match was on either; could've put Emi in a 10 woman tag with Nyla, Bunny, Penelope and Taya vs faces like Itoh (since she's facing Nyla for TJPW), Sky Blue, Riho, maybe even Billie and Athena. Or could've just had a 4-way of Ruby, Diamante, Willow and Mercedes Martinez to determine the TBS title contender. Still, people were into it, Grado made his much teased appearance - no Like a Prayer though - Cole and MJF actually won the ROH tag titles, and HOOK and Jack Perry put on a nice little no rules match which saw Jack get scraped up pretty good by the real glass - I only heard about the altercation this morning, I don't really have thoughts on it - but it was a matter that the 2 hours could've offered more wrestling, even if it was unaired matches for the audience not seeing the promos. Mercedes Moné appeared on the tron 3 times, but each time I grabbed my phone to snap a photo the screen moved away, leading to me cursing each time XD Also TK promotions of the Fulham game and Jacksonville Jaguars games were met with loud boos, it was hilarious.
From the main card though it was just all fun and entertainment. Watching wrestling live is a bit slower, but fan engagement does make it more enjoyable. Wembley was 90% Samoa Joe territory, and while that opened the door for some Punk shithousery with Cena and Hogan moves we all knew he was keeping his X Division unofficial belt. In fact the biggest pop he got was simply hovering around a trans rights sign, but make no mistake people are cheering the sign in that case. It surprised me that the Elite matches came straight after, the trios match was good but it never hit full gear, we kept trying to will the Golden Elite on but their momentum often got stifled. That being said, shit does Takeshita and Ibushi hit each other hard, you could see them rattling their opponents, the Gunns were also quite entertaining at ringside but the finish caught us all by surprise. The Bucks/FTR match was good, it was a slow burner and the Bucks' streamers stuck to the scaffolding for the rest of the night but as much as the audience were Anti-Punk and Pro-Kenny they weren't exactly Pro-Bucks either, also chants of 'Please don't shoot me' for Cash was a bit tongue in cheek.
Stadium Stampede may not have been everyone's cup of tea, and alas I didn't get the pleasure of seeing someone obliterated at my feet, but dammit it was one of my favourite matches. The BCC walked down a few rows away from me, but people were swarming to them so I didn't bother trying there. I could spot Kingston up in the stands brawling with Claudio, and while yes there were some botches and unwilling equipment, there were a lot of fun and brutal spots, including Penta hitting some chair shots that did not look like they were protected (maybe a gimmicked chair?). And Eddie is fucking over, that man will destroy the metaphorical roof when he becomes world champion. The women's match was fun too, lots of good wrestling there, however between the Buck's Freddie Mercury gear and Saraya coming out to We Will Rock You I did again think back to Emi Sakura missing out, and other people using her shtick. As much as the crowd loved it I also was a bit let down that Saraya won, because there was little reason to put the title on Shida in the end - and I was really hoping Shida could retain in a PPV in front of a crowd for once - but to their credit they did build Saraya's face turn well in the match, the PTO/Curb Stomp combo to Toni was pretty awesome too.
The Coffin match was fun, I actually expected more interference, but there were a lot of hefty bumps. English Oak tables too sturdy to break once though we'd find, as Sting needed two attempts to send Swerve through it. Sting was a lot of fun here, Swerve was great too and his blue robe was pretty awesome. Jericho/Ospreay though, fuck what a match that was; we have to start considering Ospreay as one the best in the world because he keeps on delivering. I never had doubts that Jericho could put on this performance at the big stage, his snap rana caught me by surprise though, and while he is no Freddie (who is?) his Fozzy entrance was fun, surprised Sammy didn't turn either it felt like we were gonna linger on it. The Trios title was good too, good on Julia - who like the other HoB members rocked the white outfit, and the Bray lantern - for taking a bump too. Wembley loves the Acclaimed but we also loved us some Brody 'woof' King, right result in the end too and maybe a HoB face turn or at least a show of respect, it definitely set us up for the big finale.
And what a finale, fans were high on both but it was Adam Cole who played the heel for most of the match, the absolutely grisly brainbuster on the edge of the steps, but the dramatic tension was palpable throughout. It was the right move not to turn either too, and the draw fakeout too was great for fan engagement, we ate it all up, and news that they'll come back next year was met with much approval and confetti - some of which I grabbed for keepsakes. TK even came into the ring to close the night, no boos there.
After the show I hovered around to find Simon Miller's live Ups & Downs show, you can only see me briefly because we were all squished like sardines, the girls chanting for Willow was by my suggestion though, but after the recording Simon was nice enough to see us all and to do photos. It was a late and long travel back because it was a lot of last calls for trains (last calls that lasted 2 minutes), very tight, very warm, then I slept for 5 hours XD Airbeds suck y'know?
So yeah, a long weekend but a great show. Even the best show isn't perfect of course but that doesn't subtract it from being great. All in 2024 will be different however, the first time can carry on being the first time, but the second will depend on the card. But the fans were still great, signs and obstruction aside it's not like they mean it, many of them were very friendly, so it was all a good time.
Match of the Night: For me it's the main event just edging Stadium Stampede and Ospreay/Jericho, the story won out in investment Best Entrance: Jericho with the Fozzy entrance for me, Saraya's was nice with her family and Jack Perry in the limo was decent but Jericho takes the best one easily Best Attire: Toughest one to pick because of how many good ones there were but the one that stuck with me was Swerve's blue robe Best Performance: Ospreay for wrestling, Cole and MJF for storytelling Spot of the Night: Adam Cole's Brainbuster on MJF on the steps, it was a spot where you had to be inch perfect because it was right on the line of the steps, and MJF sold it like he was murdered
