Solved some questions from rheumatology block today and brushed up on lower limb anatomy. I would study anatomy everyday and still be the weakest in the subject😒. Made a good cup of hazelnut coffee. Random backstory time: My resting heart rate used to be on the higher end since my childhood. It took me a long years of aerobic exercises along with caffeine restriction to reduce them to normal. For someone who is obsessed with coffee it was very difficult cutting down on my coffee from 3 cups a day to less that one cup a week. But this definitely helped me alleviate my symptoms of anxiety. Therefore consuming a good coffee after a long time definitely hit different today🤌🏾✨

"I'm still here, Love.
--
--
Rodimus had been waiting for an update from the med bay for hours. Despite attempts from Mags, Megs and even Drift, he had refused to move from where he was seated on the floor.
“Waiting here won't help anyone,” he had been told. They were right, but he ignored them anyway. He wasn’t sure if he could get anything done until…
The prime ran his servos over his face, rubbing at tired, puffy eyes. He probably looked like shit. He certainly felt like it. Like heavy chains were pulling at his shoulders. It was exhausting.
The sound of footsteps caught his attention and Rodimus looked up from his hands. Drift was approaching him again.
“No news?” It was less of a question and more of a statement, but Rodimus nodded anyway.
“Not sure how much longer I can wait,” he sniffed and rested his chin in his palms.
“Probably not too long now,” the swordsman sat down next to him and placed his hand onto his amica’s back, rubbing small circles under his spoiler. It eased up some of the tension in the speed frame’s struts, pulling a sigh from his vents.
“Now I’m getting really nervous.”
“Like you weren’t already,” Drift scoffed half-heartedly. Rodimus nearly rolled his eyes.
The duo turned their attention when the door to the med bay finally opened and a rather tired, especially grouchy Ratchet stuck his head out.
“Ratch!” Rodimus scrambled onto his feet, his spark pounding with anxiety, “is he alright? Did he-?”
“He’s stable,” the old mech interrupted before he could start babbling, “and awake (miraculously). He’s asking for you.”
“Oh,” the fiery prime’s eyes brightened and he stood taller. The wave of relief nearly knocked him over, but luckily Drift kept him steady with a hand on his shoulder, “he’s alive.”
“Come on, but try to be careful. He’s still delicate,” Ratchet retreated back behind the door. It took Rodimus all his willpower to keep himself from just bolting in. Drift stayed out in the hallway to keep curious mechs away. By now it was likely everyone on the Lost Light knew about the loud and dramatic scene that took place that morning, and some would want to see what happened.
Starhawk was laying on a slightly angled medical berth, hooked up to machines and monitors through a few cords that connected to his chest and the back of his head. He still looked terrible and paler than he should be, but he certainly looked a hundred times better than that morning, when his plating was grey and his eyes lifeless.
He was currently listening to Firstaid finish telling him about everything that had to be done to keep him alive and what was to come to continue that. The flier looked as if he barely understood half of what was being said to him. He only looked away when Aid stopped and turned his attention to Rodimus.
“R-oddy-yy!” Hawk’s voice glitched as he perked up. He briefly cleared his throat and tried again.
“Rod-!” He was stopped when Rodimus all but collapsed over him, throwing his arms around his neck and burying his face into the side of his head.
“Hey, be careful with him!” Ratchet smacked the prime’s shoulder.
“S’okay,” Starhawk hummed, loosely placing a hand over Rodimus’s lower back, “he’s not hurting me.”
“He still needs to be careful, your spark can’t handle any strain right now,” the old medic again thwacked the prime’s shoulder, “get off.”
With a groan, Rodimus hesitantly got up. His blue optics were misty and he was chewing on his lower lip. Hawk gave his side a pat.
“Right, Ratchet and I will let you have some time to yourselves,” Firstaid nudged Ratchet away, “we’ll be close by in case something happens.”
“M’kay,” Hawk lazily waved as the two medics retreated. Once the door closed behind them, a hiccuping gasp escaped passed Rodimus’s lips, catching the jet’s attention.
Fat tears were rolling down his face and his vents hitched again. Starhawk frowned and again patted his plating.
“Roddy, it’s ok. I’m still here.”
Rodimus wiped at his face as he let out a sob, “I thought-God, Hawk! I was terrified!”
Starhawk blinked and nudged him closer. His frame felt weak, and he struggled to properly lift his other hand up to Roddy’s face, his thumb shakily wiping away a tear, “I’m sorry, Love. I really am.”
The smaller mech desperately gripped the black servo against his cheek, nuzzling into his palm, “you’re still cold.”
“Might take me a little while to warm up.”
Rodimus hummed and was quiet for a few moments, still holding onto Hawk’s arm. He then lifted his head, one of his servos moved from his wrist to clasp onto his slightly larger palm, their digits intertwined.
“Do you know what caused it?”
The flier averted his gaze.
“What caused it?”
He let out a sigh, too tired to try and dodge the question, “my old injury. Turns out it’s been slowly creeping up on me the whole time.”
“You said it wasn’t that bad.”
“I… may have lied about that,” he turned his head away, his crest falling over his eyes, “someone like me honestly shouldn’t have survived that shot.”
Rodimus tightened his hold on his arm a smidge, “why lie about that?”
“I don’t know. I guess I didn’t want to worry anyone or whatever. It’s not a big deal.”
“You almost died this morning!” Rodimus snapped, “how is that not a big deal?”
“Sorry,” Hawk lowered his chin, the gold decals on either side of his crest lowered in shame.
Rodimus grit his teeth, not sure if he should feel angry or sad or happy. Instead of saying anything else, he just removed his hand and turned his face into Hawk’s palm again, feeling his digits curl against his cheek. He let out a shaky sigh at the contact.
“Roddy, Love,” Hawk turned his partner’s face towards his, “I am so sorry. Not only for scaring you, but for not being honest as well.”
“You apologize a lot,” Rodimus mumbled. Hawk only smiled.
“I have a lot to apologize for. I’ve made too many mistakes, and I’ve been selfish. I never really thought about the impact all of my lies could have on those I care about, nor do I have any good reason to lie so much,” he slowly pulled Rodimus down so their foreheads were touching, “and I’m so, so sorry I hurt you.”
Rodimus couldn’t trust his vocals to say anything, letting go of Hawk’s arm to hold his face still. He tilted his head and pressed his lips against his.
The obsidian flier returned the kiss, his arms wrapped around Rodimus’s torso, his warm frame felt comforting against his still-cold one. But, he could feel what little strength he had slowly sap away, and had to pull his head back.
“Sorry,” he muttered, “I’m… I’m very tired.”
“Tired?” Rodimus jolted, his eyes widening, “do I need to get Ratchet?”
Hawk slowly shook his head, “no. He and Aid said I would be tired for a few days, if not weeks. They want me to sleep a lot.”
“Oh,” the prime relaxed a bit, “and how long will you be kept here?”
“A few days at least. I’m not sure,” Hawk closed his eyes, “will you stay for a while? I don’t want to go to sleep alone.”
“Sure. My schedule is clear for the day,” a lie, but a slightly obvious one. In truth, Rodimus knew he’d be unable to do anything productive today, maybe even tomorrow.
“Thanks,” he sluggishly and blindly grabbed for his hand, “I’m sure the others will understand. And I’ll make up for this.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Rodimus rested his head against the orange glass on Hawk’s abdomen, and pulled their clasped hands under his chin, “focus on recovering.”
The larger mech hummed, his venting starting to slow down.
“I love you.”
Rodimus slightly tightened his grip on Starhawk’s hand. It was a little bit warmer now.
“I love you too.”

First Aid and Rainwing Dragonets
Dragonet one: “Are your eyes made out of glowing blue mangoes?”
First Aid: *chuckles* “No they are not.”
Dragonet two: “Do you get ticklish from our climbing?”
First Aid: *chuckles again* No, the nerves in our bodies don’t work like that.”
I figured First Aid being a pacifist and a literal medic would be the bot who would be trusted the most around the dragonets. Especially with his gentle kind personality.
This started out as a sketch after getting bored of Digital drawing, then I decided to shade it and behold.
