Stray thought of the day

When the Fool got Fitz's memories and feelings back from girl-on-a-dragon, he basically downloaded a backup of Fitz's emotional files that was seveal years old.

It contained the old files of Fitz's overwhelming love for Molly and also the old files with his love/fondness for the Fool, not, however, the files updated over the course of the Tawny Man trilogy, where Fitz's love for the Fool deepened and matured and became very, very intense by the end of Fool's Fate.

So naturally, the Fool thought that what Fitz felt for him was less than, which might be part of the reason why he decided to step back and let Fitz have his "turn" with Molly rather than keep Fitz for himself.
