My newest Illustration is here, once again inspired by the world of Bella Sara! Meet Deryn, a Fjord horse-Pegasus with the colorization of a Eurasian Bullfinch.
This illustration was a bit more of a challenge, seeing as I wanted to draw a horse lying in a tree, so I sorta had to wing the front legs and studied a lot of photos of horses lying on the ground to get a feeling for the legs. You know, considering how many cards there are, it's a bit surpising that there is not a SINGLE Pegasus in Bella Sara that's depicted sitting IN or ON a tree. Let the giant bird-horses do silly bird things! :D I think it'd be fun to have some taking off from a branch or standing tall on a tree top, maybe even have one sitting in a nest? GIANT BIRD HORSE NESTS!!!

Since Norwegian Fjord Horse won the poll here are some fun facts regarding the breed!
The fjord horse is believed to be one of the world's oldest breeds as they have one of the longest recorded histories of pure breeding and remains of them have been found in Viking graves.
The modern-day fjord is larger than their ancestors, today they range between 130-145cm (4'2''-4'7'') while their ancestors lingered around 120cm (4'1''). Despite this, there isn't actually any set hight standard for the breed.
Any and all fjord horses are homozygous dun meaning there is no such thing as a fjord horse that isn't dun.
The mane is commonly clipped short to the point of it standing up on its own. This is for a number of reasons such as making the neck look muscular and well-built but also making it easier to groom. It might also be done to avoid the mane being tangled into farm equipment, or simply for aesthetics.
There are signs that the fjord horse may be genetically related to the Mongolian horse.
The breed walks a very fine line between keeping the breed pure while also maintaining health and conformation.
