fugou keiji: characterisation done right
I am so glad I stuck with this anime. In the beginning, I only watched it to simp over Daisuke and spent the majority of the episode eye-rolling Haru playing the Good Guy to Daisuke’s “The Ends Justify The Means” but the last two episodes have really elevated Haru as a character to me.
At the start of the show, Haru seems like the typical shonen protagonist. Hot headed, brash, impulsive, idealistic et al; a foil for Daisuke. But he isn’t just a flat archetype, he has his beliefs and motivations and is just as much a complex character as Daisuke.
Haru’s shooting of the bank robber and his accomplice is the turning point for his development. It’s not just police vs criminals, heroes vs villains; the world is infinite shades of gray and Haru Kato has no justification for taking two lives. It’s no wonder that he can’t stomach using a gun anymore.
Seeing Haru struggle against his past actions to try to shoot Franz and protect Daisuke was honestly the emotional highlight of the show so far, and definitely the moment that cemented Haru a complex, well rounded character for me.
Episode 9 also made me, (wonder of wonders) begrudgingly feel appreciation for Hoshino. His actions towards Haru are somewhat understandable when viewed from the Hero Worship —> Fallen Pedestal angle. Unlike Haru, he hasn’t experienced his own realisation of gray morality and still thinks Working At First Division = ✨Hero✨
I have high hopes for FK and hopefully the next few episodes will be as good as the ones so far :D

So it turns out that this whole ‘They are engaged in the novel’ is a misinformation. Someone told me that Daisuke never had a fiancé in the novel, Suzue was his father's secretary who does have feelings for him but Daisuke is oblivious. I am glad that i know the truth
I also don’t really think they are engaged in the anime as well ( please do not give me theories and say that they are ) since the stories are different. The person also told me that the creators confirmed that they took the barebones of the novel to create the anime, but modernized and deviated wildly from it
Anways, I am done talking about the Daisuke and Suzue situation now but if there is possibly a season two happening with something unexpected then i’ll try to look into it. I will like to say thank you to the person who told me about this ( if you are reading this post), I really appreciate it <3

⚠️FUJOU KEIJI NOVEL SPOILER!!!⚠️ and other trivias
Yasutaka Tsutsui's novel is just 200+ pages and it's a light, humorous, enjoyable read. However, it has an open ending.
in the novel, Daisuke will either:
play an increasingly active role as a detective and eventually be married to Suzue Hamada (rumored girl in the OP?); or
He and the police will be defeated, he'll be rejected by Suzue and even, possible bankruptcy.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
The other characters in the anime adaptation were not mentioned in the novel and even in the live action series, so I conclude that they are original characters to the anime.
About the girl in the OP, I couldn't conclude if she is Hamada Suzue on the novel because on the FKBL website, she was just described as "someone emerged on a search line by Haru and Daisuke. a woman shrouded in mystery". The mystery woman and Daisuke almost have the same eye color. Is she Daisuke's sister? The reveal will be in tonight's episode! (check-02)
Daisuke's personality. Period. He doesn't act like a cool a**hole in the novel. but still rich, smoking a Havana cigar worth 8,500 yen each, drives a Cadillac, have his suits delivered from the UK, and lives in a mansion that was described as like the Palace of Versailles.
THERE ARE SOME SCENES IN THE NOVEL WHERE DAISUKE IS BEING SOFT LIKE HE BLUSHES SO I WANT TO SEE BLUSHING DAISUKE IN THE ANIME.
that's all for today, folks. I really looking forward what will happen to the DaiHaru/HaruSuke duo. 😍😍😍😍😍😍

you know i think that the fkbl fandom need to focus on the story and not fight about the ships 👉👈 at least that's what I think, I don't want to be rude or anything but this "ships war" reminds me the bnha fandom ...
Yes, I absolutely agree.
However, there are certain things which need to be respected in order to create a safe space for everyone if they ever wish to become a part of this fandom and everyone in this fandom deserves to enjoy certain content without any commotion. No one has to be forbidden to enjoy certain things in the aforementioned fandom.
No one forbid daiharu shippers to enjoy their content, but now that they realize what Tomohiko is about to do, they all of a sudden decided to attack daisuzu shippers who're just trying to enjoy their own stuff like it's no one's business. That's highly disrespectful and rude.
Daiharu shippers became bothered bc they noticed that daisuzu is more likely to become canon and now they took it upon themselves to cure their frustrations on people who did nothing to them.
Yes daiharus, this is not a BL drama. It's called a "detective show". That's why I don't want to hear anything you're ab to say. You can create your own posts for all I care.
Personally, I couldn't care less ab the drama daiharus are currently making, I'm just here to enjoy FKBU. I love the characters, I love the plot, I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
