So. Dad has suggested biweekly water changes instead of weekly and im considering,,, bc he keeps mentioning the well and its making me paranoid. Jesus.

That said. The 180 should probably actually still have weekly tbh since theres so many fish in there, whereas i can see...biweekly being workable in Boiúna's tank, bc theyre 1 tiny baby alone, and the cray tank, bc again 1 critter, and the 120 bc its Just Snowball in there now.

I also think...we should test the water weekly on all the tanks even if we change 3 of them biweekly

Problems with biweekly:

-Boiúna....is a Messy Eater

-180 gal has so many big fish in it rn including 2 plecos, 1 of which is Large

-biweekly is....bad schedule when u cant percieve time...its spaced perfectly to feel Completely Fucking Random so. I rly have to get off my ass and organize things if do that..

Juse Ju - Album: Shibuya Crossing

Am 16.03.18 erschien Juse Ju’s neues Album Shibuya Crossing und ich war zunächst nicht unglaublich geflasht. Aber wohingegen das vorherige Album Angst & Amor mich live unglaublich überzeugt hatte, da taten es bei Shibuya Crossing nur ein paar weitere Umdrehungen auf dem Plattenteller.

Aber zunächst stellt sich die Frage nach dem Albumtitel: schnell könnte man behaupten, dass sich dies auf die Reflexion von Juse Ju’s Kindheit in Japan beziehen könnte und auch wenn dies auf dem gleichnamigen Song auf dem Album so ist und die Thematik Japan an einigen weiteren Stellen des Albums angeschnitten wird und die Reflexion der eigenen Kindheit und Jugend den roten faden des Albums darstellt, so geht die Bedeutung dieses Titels tiefer. Laut Juse Ju stellt die Kreuzung in Shibuya zum einen etwas für Japan repräsentatives dar, zum anderen ist sie ein Ort von vielen internationalen Begegnungen. Aus eben letzterem Punkt ist dies eine gute Metapher für Juse Ju’s Kindheit und Jugend, denn diese spielte sich, wie wir im Laufe des Albums erfahren, nicht nur in Japan, sondern eben auch in der texanischen Grenzstadt El Paso oder in Kirchheim unter Teck.

Dennoch wird dieses Thema nicht in jedem Song explizit als solches behandelt und die Songs, die dies tun befinden sich dann eher in der zweiten Hälfte des Albums bzw. auf der B-Seite, welche direkt mit dem großartigen Storyteller-Song Bordertown beginnt, dieses Thema dann weiterhin in Pain is Love und Shibuya Crossing aufgenommen wird, jedoch andere Lebensabschnitte behandelt. In den Songs, die dieses Thema nicht explizit als solches behandelt wird, wird der rote Faden aufgegriffen, in dem eben der jetzige Zustand aufgegriffen, zu dem alle diese Einflüsse, von denen wir im Verlauf des Albums erfahren, geführt hat. Dies bezieht sich sowohl auf seinen Blick auf die Rapszene, aber auch auf eine emotionale Ebene, in der der Zustand beschrieben wird, inwiefern er im Leben steht.

Was das Album besonders abrundet, ist dass mit dem ersten Song Kirchheim Horizont, das Album durch einen solchen reflektierenden Song eröffnet wird. Im letzten Song Auch fällt auf, dass er hier, anders als in den anderen Songs, seine Mutter explizit mit “Mama” anspricht, womit eine unterbewusste Reflektion der Kindheit suggeriert wird. Dennoch wird der Song aus einer aktuellen Position in Juse Ju’s Leben erzählt, womit durch dieses Ende des Albums eine Art Rahmen geschaffen wird. Dieser Rahmen wird auch thematisch vom letzten Track selbst auf einer weiteren Ebene unterschwellig aufgegriffen. Wo im ersten Part eher Popkulturelle Referenzen wie zu Knight Rider auffallen, wird im zweiten Part eher von der aktuellen Ereignissen in seinem Leben erzählt. Das ganze spitzt sich dann nochmal erneut zu, als er davon spricht, dass er ein Hoverboard besitzt, wie es in Back to the future 2 gezeigt wird, besitzt, womit zum einen auf den Film von 1989 verwiesen wird, gleichzeitig aber auch auf das Jahr 2015, in welches Marty McFly reist, in dem besagte Hoverboards bereits erfunden sein sollen. Zwar besitzt Juse Ju wohl leider nicht wirklich ein Hoverboard, jedoch ist das Gefühl eines solchen Besitzes wohl durch das Gefühl was er im Song als wie auf Wolken laufen beschreibt, auf einer bestimmten Ebene gleizusetzen. Damit ist für ihn zumindest, drei Jahre nachdem das Hoverboard hätte spätestens erfunden worden sein sollen, das Schweben über dem Boden in bestimmter, emotionaler Weise Realität geworden.

Musikalisch fällt auf, dass es hier einige Sound- und Stilexperimente in verschiedene Richtung gibt, dennoch bildet das Album insgesamt einen einheitlich angenehmen und doch energischen Sound. Das ist insofern besonders beachtlich, da die Beats des Albums von sehr vielen verschiedenen, aber auch namenhaften Produzenten stammen. Die Liste aus C.O.W. 牛, Dexter, Torky Tork, Occupanther, Yourz, Shumee, The Gunna, Provo und Löve liest sich wirklich unglaublich und sogar Mine hat an der Produktion zu einem Song mitgewirkt.  Dabei haben alle diese Produzenten jeweils immer nur einen oder maximal zwei Beats produziert. Auch klingt die Beatauswahl sehr vielseitig, dennoch gibt es für mich keinen Song, der aus dem dadurch gemalten Soundbild des Albums herausfällt. Dabei fällt auf, dass der Übergang zwischen zwei Songs durch die unterschiedlichen Stile der Produzenten bzw. der einzelnen Beats für mich alles andere als vorhersehbar klingt und dadurch die Aufmerksamkeit immer wieder auf diese zieht,

Für mich stellt Shibuya Crossing ein unglaublich gutes Rapalbum und eine starke Steigerung seit Angst & Amor dar, obwohl ich es zunächst eher mittelmäßig fand, jedoch fallen mir nach mehrfachem Hören immer mehr Dinge auf, die mir gut gefallen, seien es nun Popkulturelle-Referenzen oder Wortspiele. Beispielsweise, dass der Titel des Songs von Pain is love einfach eine Referenz auf Ja Rules Album von 2001 ist. Besonders gut gefällt mir Propaganda, ein Song aus der Perspektive von jemandem, der an jeder Ecke eine Verschwörung sieht. Interessant dabei finde ich, dass der Song gerade in der von Danger Dan gesungenen Hook sehr eingängig und weniger Ernst klingt, man dadurch jedoch den Text so sehr im Kopf behält, dass man seine Aussage wohl auch stärker reflektiert. Zudem gefällt mir das Album durch Juse Ju’s zynische Art und Weise Texte zu schreiben, die genau meinen Humor trifft.

Für mich ist Shibuya Crossing bis jetzt eines der besten Alben die ich dieses Jahr gehört habe, weswegen eseine lange Warterei bis zur Tour wird, die erst im Herbst stattfindet. Allerdings kann ich Juse Ju jedem live nur dringend ans Herz legen und nach bisherigen Erwatungen denke ich, dass mir das Album nach dem Konzert noch ein wenig besser gefallen wird.
