Using flatwound strings for the first time and I’m not exaggerating when I see they’re smooth as silk. Holy fuck. The tone is a lot warmer it’s not as bright as roundwound by itself but once I get my pedals fixed this shit is going to be crazy. My fingers are so torn up from playing + work I can’t overdo it right now but I did some light tapping exercises and was blown away by how much easier it was im flatwound gang for life now

This Ibanez SRAS7 model just might be the most insane bass I've seen. 7 strings, first 4 are roundwound fretted w/ rosewood and the last 3 are flatwound fretless w/ bubinga. Tuned to ADGEADG. This thing is a fucking beast.

My really cute test shim i have no clue if it does anything but business card/thick paper material was recommended and I’ve had a good lead on the raised bridge so I don’t think the shim nitpicking will matter much once i’ve wrapped the bridge pegs up to make it stable and put in thicker strings bro I’m gonna indulge and get some flatwounds I’m gonna live deliciously
