Ep 267: Your True Halloween Stories II – Part 1
"It seemed more like it was coming from somewhere above me, or I like to say no place at all."  -- Persephone Holloway, from story #3
Description:
Well well, dear friends, Spooky Season is upon us once again, so it's time to regale and chill you with true Halloween tales from within our ranks! Our first story, which we're calling "She is Ours," comes from Andy, whose recurring nightmare leads to a standoff with higher powers. Later, a study of palmistry plunges her into a shared vision with a stranger. The following frightening account comes from Maryann, who gets an unwelcome response when you "Speak of the Devil." And finally, Persephone endures a harrowing encounter that may be a puzzle piece to a lifelong mystery that seemed to come from "No Place at All." Light the candles, prepare the beverages, and settle in for an evening of eerie testimony from some Legenders. May all your dreams be pleasant tonight! 😈

What is the Goal of this site?
About

Who are you?
I'm InvisibleUp, but you can call me Viz. I'm your local ghost internet. OOOoooOOoo~...
I'm not really into the spooky sort of stuff. I'd like to be a nice, caring person. Above all, I want to make people as happy as they can be. I'm not trying to be rude, or unpopular or demeaning. I hope you don't feel bad even if you're having a rough day. You can always sit back and read about Sonic, AOL, or whatever. A friend of mine once said to me that I was "a breath of fresh air" I'll consider that an invitation to let the spring breeze that blows through your sails.
IRL I'm not bald and I'm alive. I am actually a young woman with a curly reddish-reddish tresses. I'm currently pursuing electrical engineering at the college. I'm focusing on embedded device development, and I've worked on interesting things like space satellites , and overhauling a department's entire report generation system, among other things.
I'm a huge fan of retro tech (everything's so much more interesting with constraints) and indie games, riding my bike through nature trails, public transportation, and Sonic the Hedgehog. That said I'm always up for trying new things. Who knows? Perhaps I'll discover a new thing I like. That's always a lot of fun.
What is the purpose of this site?
It's mostly a place for people to post random thoughts. It is possible to break it down into broad categories.
The Articles section, the earliest one with regular content, is where I try and provide explanations and/or gush about topics that I am interested in or things I'm working on. It's not updated frequently because it's difficult to come up with fresh content.
The most recent sections include the Hacking Notes which include notes and tools for changing older video games as well as the Projects, which is a list of more substantial work I did that stand on their own a little and the Doodles are where I attempt to be creative and express myself.
Any favorite games/webcomics/whatever?
I'm not exactly video gamer. While I do occasionally play them I don't consider myself a gamer. I think that the whole medium is neat, what people can do with it as well as the emotions and experiences they can convey and how they use what they have to their advantage. Some games that I'm enjoying at the moment or in the past are Night in the Woods, deltarune, Tetris Attack, a majority of the Sonic series and Minecraft.
For movies my top picks are Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Forrest Gump, About Time, and Kiki's Delivery Service. I like my stories to feature lots of solid character interactions, more so than a flashy plot. 886.lv
My musical preferences are... unusual. My music tastes were influenced by SoundCloud YouTube, SoundCloud, and old videogames. My favorites are either earworms that have an excellent bassline (I love 80's Jpop and 00's alternative) or instrumental pieces that allow you to feel the music and not just listen to it. (stuff like Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Blue Album-era Beatles and Pink Floyd.)
What's the deal with the username?
Surprisingly, this is an unintentional short story. I was watching a Mario gaming marathon to raise money for charity (by the now defunct group ExtraLives led by MonotoneTim, who is a pretty cool guy) and I needed an username for the chat. I thought, "You know what's awesome?" The Boo mushroom from Super Mario Galaxy, which can make you appear invisible. So after a solid 15 seconds of thinking about it, I entered "InvisibleUp" and decided to stick with it. (In retrospect, I would have preferred a word that had fewer syllables.)
And the ghostsona?
I started out for years with a logo that looked vaguely like a ghost from Pac-Man. I really wanted a unique profile pic, so I made one. That being said, a few years later I decided that it kinda sucked. I felt a need to have an actual kind of human face to represent my posts instead of just some weird abstract logo thing. I wanted to have a more personal presence on the 'net than I had let myself have before. So, I came up with Inviz.
It's possible that she was inspired by Napstablook from Undertale and Vivian from Paper Mario TTYD. I could have drawn myself as a human, however I wanted to try my hand in creating a character. And I'm obligated to keep up the ghost theme, don't you think? I'm also a little too private about my privacy to reveal my face.

Who are you?
I'm InvisibleUp. You can call me Viz. I'm your friendly neighborhood internet ghost. OOOoooOOoo~...
I'm not a fan of the creepy stuff. I'd like to think of myself as an honest, loving person. Above all else I'm determined to help people be the best them that they can be. I'm not interested in being uncool, or sexist, or demeaning. I hope you don't feel bad if you're having a bad day. You can always just relax here and read about Sonic, AOL, or whatever. A friend of mine once said to me that I was "a breath of fresh air" and I'll accept that as an invitation to be the spring breeze in your sails.
IRL I'm not bald, and I'm alive. In fact, I'm a young woman (with an incredible amount of curly reddish hair) currently in college studying electrical engineering. I'm a specialist in embedded device design and have worked on some amazing things, such as space satellites and the overhaul of a department's reporting system.
Retro technology (everything is more fascinating when there are limits), indie games and riding my bike through nature trails, public transport and Sonic the Hedgehog are all things I am passionate about. I am always willing to try new things. Who knows? Perhaps I'll discover a new thing I like. It's always a lot of fun.
What is this site?
It's mostly a place to dump random thoughts. It's broken down into a few broad categories.
The Articles section, the first one with semi-regular content, is where I try to provide explanations and/or gush about topics that I am interested in or things I'm working on. It's not updated frequently because it is difficult to come up with new content.
The Hacking notes contains some tips and utilities for modders of old video games. There are also the Projects which include more substantial material that I've worked on and can stand on its own. Finally, there is the Doodles which is where I try to express myself in a creative way.
Any favorite games/webcomics/whatever?
I am a bit of video gamer. While I do occasionally play them, I wouldn't call myself a gamer. I think the entire medium is neat, what people can do with it their experiences and the emotions they can express and how they can use what they have to their advantage. Some games that I'm enjoying either right now or in the past are Night in the Woods, deltarune, Tetris Attack, a majority of the Sonic series and Minecraft.
For films, my all time favorites include Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Forrest Gump, About Time, and Kiki's Delivery Service. I prefer plots that have strong character interactions over flashy grand plots.
My musical preferences are... unusual. Truthfully, SoundCloud, YouTube, and old video games have shaped my musical tastes way too much. What I like is either earworms with good basslines (I love 80's Jpop and the 00's alternative) or instrumental tracks that let you feel the music, not just listen to it. (Stuff like Fleetwood Mac and Styx, Blue Album-era Beatles and Pink Floyd.

You know, I need to keep the ghost theme in motion. Also, I'm a bit snarky about privacy to show my actual face.

You can call me Viz, but I'm InvisibleUp. I'm your local ghost internet. OOOoooOOoo~...
I'm not a fan at all of the creepy stuff. I would like to be a kind and compassionate person. Most importantly, I'm determined to assist people to be the best that they can be. I'm not trying to be uncool, or sexist, or demeaning. I hope you don't feel guilty even if you're having a rough day. You can always just relax here and explore Sonic, AOL, or whatever. A friend once called me "a breath-of-fresh air" so I'll take this as an invitation to be your spring air.
IRL, it's no surprise that I'm very much alive, and not hairless. I am actually a young lady with an absurdly curly reddish-reddish hair. I am currently studying electrical engineering at a college. What is the purpose behind this website?
It's mostly a place for people to share thoughts. It can be broken up into broad categories.
The Articles section, the earliest one with regular content is where I attempt to describe and/or talk about things that interest me or stuff I'm working on. It's not updated very often, as creating content isn't easy.
The Hacking notes includes some helpful tips and tools for modders of video games from the past. There's also the Projects which contain more substantial things that I've been working on and that stand on its own. Finally, there is the Doodles which is where I try to express myself creatively.
Any favorite games/webcomics/whatever?
I'm kinda interested in video games? I'll occasionally play them from time to times, but I would not call myself a "gamer". I think the medium is amazing, and the ways people can accomplish with it in terms of the emotions and experiences they communicate, and how they use it to their advantage. Some games I'm kinda into at the moment or in the past are Night in the Woods, deltarune, Tetris Attack, a number of the Sonic series, and Minecraft.
My absolute top films are Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Forrest Gump and Kiki’s Delivery Service. I prefer plots with strong characters interaction to extravagant grand plots.
My musical preferences are... unconventional. In truth, SoundCloud, YouTube, and old video games have shaped my tastes in music way too much. But in short, the things I like are either earworms with good basslines (I'm a sucker for 80's J-Pop and 00's alternative) or nice instrumental pieces that really make you experience the music, not simply listen to it. (stuff like Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Blue Album-era Beatles and Pink Floyd.)
What's the matter with the username?
Surprisingly short, actually. I was watching a Mario gaming marathon for charity (by the now long-defunct group ExtraLives which was headed by MonotoneTim who is an incredibly cool dude) and I needed an username for the chat. I thought "You know what's cool? The Boo mushrooms from Super Mario Galaxy, which can make you invisible. So after about 15 seconds of thinking, I entered "InvisibleUp" and stuck with it. (In hindsight, I should have chosen a word with fewer letters.
You could say that she was inspired by Napstablook in Undertale and Vivian TTYD from Paper Mario. I could have drawn myself as an individual, but I wanted to try my hand at designing a character instead. And I've gotta keep up the ghost theme, don't you think? Also, I'm way too nerdy about privacy to show my actual face.

The Winter Ghost - Part 14
Info: A Devastating car crash causes you to lose your memory and start over. The only thing left in the wreckage was the horrific nightmares which plagued your mind. If you knew what today would entail you would have just stayed in bed. But you didn’t and because of that, everything you knew was about to change.
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
Warnings: Swearing, angst, gun violence.
w/c: So close to 2k that I’m going to call it that. (I really tried)
A/N: 14?? This feels crazy, but here we are. I definetly also just posted, but I was excited to keep sharing with you guys. As always, any and all feeback is welcomed!
Tumblr media
You had spent the last hour or so exchanging song suggestions with Bucky. Most of his music was from the seventies, claiming it was the best decade for music. You didn’t protest as you hummed along to something by Fleetwood Mac.
This was different. Maybe it was the impending danger of the mission or the way his words were a hushed whisper against your ear. Either way, you felt the shift. It was visceral, the way he made you feel. Like debating the best pump-up jam was the most intimate thing you'd ever done with a man.
“We’re approaching the drop off.” Sam announced from the cockpit.
“Everyone ready? Sam and Wanda, you take the back, Bucky and I will lead Nat and Y/n through the front, after that you're on your own. Collect intel, and get the hell out. After I set up the timer we’ll have fifteen minutes before the place blows. Everyone clear on the plan?” Steve spoke through our coms. There was a collective ‘got it’ and a series of thumbs up’s before the jet began to near a clearing. Everyone seemed to still as the wheels collided with the earth, reality settling in. This was it.
“You got this.” Bucky’s whispers as his large hands on either side of your shoulders sent you back to the situation at hand.
“Lets go kick some Hydra ass.” You smirked, pulling your pistol from your thigh holster and loading it with a loud click.
“Damn, that's gotta’ be one of the top hottest things I’ve ever seen,” He chuckled, helping you out of the aircraft and onto the ground.
“Oh, yeah?” You quirked a brow, unsure where this witty banter was coming from. Was he flirting with you? If he was you were definitely flirting back.  Before he could answer, you heard Nat’s voice behind you.
“You guys ready to go?” She asked, eyeing Bucky carefully. You nodded, pulling your hair up into a tight ponytail on top of your head.
Bucky brushed past you, “You got my six?” He spoke, sending a wink your way.
“We’ll see.” You retorted causing him to chuckle.
“Let's head in, team.” Steve spoke through your earpiece, leading the rest of the group towards the Hydra base.
“Hey,” Wanda's voice beside you, taking your hand in hers. The silver sing on your middle finger glowing with her power. “For good luck, okay.” She smiled, before running after Sam towards the back of the seemingly abandoned warehouse.
Mentally thanking Wanda for her borrowed magic, you looked upon the large building. The outside lights were shut off and it looked to be uninhabited. But you knew better. Steve suspected Hydra was experimenting with a messy version of your serum. As far as you knew, they hadn't been successful. You weren't sure what was going to be worse. An army of super soldiers like you, or a pile of mutated, radiation filled bodies. You shivered at the thought. Most definitely the latter.
“Entering the south side of the building now.” Bucky spoke, a few passes ahead of you and Nat.
“Front entrance is unlocked.” You heard Sam's voice through your coms. “No guard. Just dark and empty.”
“Keep an eye out. We know they're home.” Steve said.
“You got it Captain. Wanda and I are going in.”
You neared the back entrance of the building, watching as Bucky used his metal arm to tear the door from its hinges. You tried to refrain from moaning at the sight.
As you entered the building behind Nat, you noticed two dark hallways headed in opposite directions.
“Cummon, we're going left.” Nat nudged you while you followed her. “See you on the other side, boys.” She spoke. And with that, your group split, while the two of you ran down the hall towards your mission.
When you reached two large metal doors, you knew you had made it. A large silver padlock hung from the handle. You lifted your hand, your ring glowing a deep crimson as the lock turned to dust, flaking off onto the ground.
“I’m never going to get used to that.” Nat muttered, yanking the door open and holding it for you.
“Me either.” You spoke honestly, propping your body against the door. “I’ll keep look-out, grab the files.” Nat nodded, pulling open the first file cabinet and rummaging through different folders.
“Y/n” a deep voice ripped through your mind, causing you to stiffen. For a moment, you thought you had imagined it, looking at Nat still flipping through files.
“Y/n.” the voice spoke again. Something about it felt so familiar. Like you had heard it say your name like that before. A strange murky memory rang through your mind.
“Did you hear that?” You asked. Nat froze, listening for something. When nothing came she shook her head.
“I don't hear anything.” She shrugged, hacking into the computer on the desk, and watching the screen come to life.
“I’m just going to go check outside.” You mumbled, as the voice echoed around you once again. Nat nodded, typing on the keyboard, reminding you to stay close. You motioned an okay, opening the door and stepping into the dark hallway.
You looked around, letting your eyes adjust to the dim lighting. The moon streaming in through the broken window, the only thing illuminating the dark concrete walls. You held your breath, waiting for something to jump out at you, but nothing did.
Suddenly there was a cracking noise in your coms, followed by Sam’s broken voice as he shouted, “They know were here. We’ve been ambushed!”
“Get out, now. Nat, Y/n, do you have the files?” Steve yelled. You heard Nat shuffling inside the room behind you but before you could answer, the voice echoed through the empty hall.
“Y/n, did you miss me baby?” Their words made you shiver. You spun around and what you saw sent a wave terror through your whole body. A gasp escaped your lips as you tried to speak. The man took a step forward, his face illuminated by the moonlight. This wasn't real. He was a ghost.
“T-Tommy?” You sobed. A small smile pulled at the corner of his thin lips. It was so familiar. His fluffy hair, unkept and in need of a trim hung loose around his face. His green eyes, sparkling with flecks of gold around his iris. Those freckles, you swear you had counted at least a dozen times. You knew where each one marked his straight nose. But how could this be the same man from before. Your Tommy. You were half expecting to look down and see three gruesome bullet wounds in his chest. But there he stood, alive and very much not shot.
“You're not really here. You're dead. I- I watched you…” You tried to understand. This wasn't right. How was he here right now? How wasn’t he dead? You wanted desperately to be thankful, but there was a sickly feeling in your gut.
“It’s okay, baby. I’m here now. I’ll explain everything.” His words were so inviting. So warm and homey you couldn't help but launch yourself into his arms. He paused for a moment before wrapping himself around you, holding you close. You breathed him in, his familiar sent washing over your body and sending you into euphoria. You could have stayed in the moment of ignorant bliss, but the loud banging from the door behind seized you.
“Let's blow this dump we gotta-” Nats voice was cut off by the image before her.  You turned around, noticing the fear in her eyes. Panic washed over your body as the reality of the situation hit you like a ton of bricks. This wasn't right. This wasn't supposed to be happening.
Within the second it took you to turn back to Tommy, he had pulled out his gun, aiming it dangerously close to Nats head. Two lethal shots echoed through the empty halls as the bullets ripped through her chest, sending her backwards.
“No!” You screamed, trying to push away from Tommy, but it was no use.
“Y/n. Nat, what's your status?” Steve shouted through your coms. You looked up at Tommy, who only seemed unfazed by the situation at hand. Natshas only groaned in pain on the floor below. She was losing blood, and fast, but you could tell she hadn't been hit anywhere deadly.
“Tommy, let me go. Let me help her ” You started, but he only shook his head and signed.
“I’m sorry, baby. You know I can't do that. I loved you. I really did.” The past tense sent a sharp pain through your heart. “But this is more important than you. More important than us” He lifted his hand, the small needle shimmering in the light as he plunged it into your neck. When he pulled it out, it was empty, just like his eyes.
“What are you-” You tried to start, but your body felt weak. Your eyes, heavy as your legs began to wobble beneath you collapsing into Tommy’s arms once again.
“I've got you now. Everything is going to be okay.” He whispered, as you gave in to your exhaustion. The world around you began to spin until everything went dark.
“Y/n come in!” Bucky’s voice boomed through your coms but your mouth was so dry you couldn't form words.
“We’ve been compromised, Buck.” Nats voice rang.  “I’ve been hit. They got Y/n.”
“Dammit. What's your location? I'm coming to you.” He shouted.
With every ounce of strength you had left, you let Wanda’s power surge through your body, sending a pathetic zap into Tommy’s chest. It wasn't strong, but it was enough to shock him and pull yourself out of his grasp. You tried to run, but whatever was coursing through your bloodstream had its nails deep in you. You got half way down the hallway before your legs gave in, sending you hurtling down, face planting into the concrete floor.
Tommy laughed behind you. What once was a sound you ached for, now seemed tyrannical and revolting. “You always were a fighter. Right till the bitter end.” He cooed, words dripping with hatred.
You choked on the blood pooling in your mouth from the fall, and tried to form a sentence, but everything burned. Instead, you forced out a whisper.
“Bucky” You breathed.
The sound of Bucky’s worried voice echoed through your com but you couldn't make sense of what he was saying. You tried to fight it, you really did. But it was no use as Tommy dragged your limp body down the hallway and away from Nat banging on the door.
The last thing you remember seeing was the passing street lights. They illuminated the cobblestone as you peaked out the window of the van.
This was your fault. The plan was solely based on your weakness. They knew it, so shouldn't you just accept whatever fate they had planned for you? You certainly deserved it. You had gotten Natasha shot for god's sake. You just prayed that wherever the team was, they would leave you to rot. They didn't need to be swept up in your mess.
This was your end. It was inevitable. At least now it was over and you could stop pretending you didn't care. At least now, Bucky was safe.
................................................................................................................................
A/N: Thats it! Thank you to everyone who is still reading this mess lol. As always, I am eternally greatful to @cutie1365 for all her help! If you havent already checked out her writing, what are you even doing? GO NOW! And reblog and like if you enjoyed!

What They Look For In Others:  Corinna likes intelligent and opinionated people. She the back and forth that comes from relationships with some level of friction and finds it easier to get comfortable in relationships where there is a push and pull. She’s suspicious of over niceties and typically can be colder if she feels as though she’s being flattered. Bickering is a love language to Corinna.

Biggest Advantage: Her powers allow her to move within classified documents, regardless of how many firewalls they attempt to place in her way. She’s never met a program or bank account she couldn’t hack her way into.
Biggest Vulnerability: Corinna is angry and lacks long term logistics. She hates the registration, she hates feeling like she’s always under more scrutiny than the people around her. She hates the whole system. It made her an easy mark, especially to those who already had access to the mutant data base and knew of her skill set. The Mutant Uprising movement she joined was half a lie. They truly didn’t care for the outcome, as long as they got rich along the way. Corinna on the other hand cares very much so the more they ask for, the more she gets.
Mental Ailments: Depression
Physical Ailments: Focal seizures

► backstory;
Childhood:
Her parents were never Avengers truthfully, no matter their proximity. Sure, they’d lended a hand once or twice, but for the most part they’d existed on the brink between the real world and the protected life on the compound. From when their powers activated, they’d had nothing but each other, stealing enough to get by while living utterly rootless in empty apartments. All her life, Corinna never heard of aunts and uncles, grandparents or cousins. It had been only them and no matter how she pressed at her father, she never got answers about his family. He said it didn’t matter, that he had Millie and that had been enough. Until they’d met James Rogers. He’d gone from an accessory to a get rich quick scheme to the god father of their child. Growing up, Corinna spent just about every holiday with the Starks as a result. Millie and Aaron had no home state to rush back to, instead they were given a plate at James’s table. She tried to find the same contentment in her bizarre little motley of a family. Silently, the thought still chafed. Where do I come from? She reminded herself often that she was happy and loved, that an extended family tree of strangers she’d never meet would do anything but improve her life, but the question pressed on, like a splinter in her side.
Corey had been registered at birth as a mutant child, though there would be no guarantee that she’d possess any powers at all, all births of one or more mutant pairings would need to be registered as such and if her powers did come to show, they would need to be formally declared. It hadn’t impacted her while she presented as human. Maybe she got some funny looks here and there from those who knew, her teachers certainly didn’t warm to her like they did the other students, but it was mostly something to be ignored. She didn’t understand the problem at the time, it was annoying but she didn’t feel put upon or humiliated. It took time and clarity to understand the embarrassment; to really understand that she had no option but to share with the world what she was. Regardless of her safety or privacy, regardless of whether or not her power manifested as something bizarre and isolating. By middle school, she was beginning to understand why so many of her friends had gone to mutant oriented education. At least then bitchy little twits like Marissa wouldn’t poke at her and ask what was she going to do when she sprouted chicken wings.
Corinna received a phone for her 13th birthday. She’d had something prior, sure. A block of shit with a camera capable of somewhat cohesive smudges at best. No internet, though. No apps. Just call us if your dying otherwise don’t touch this thing. Maybe it was all the excitement, or the pounds of sugar in her blood stream; either way, it was an unfortunate day for her powers to activate. Everyone was present, bar Nathaniel-Morgan, stuck in bed with a super flu. But what were new phones for if not these moments? She went to text Nemo in excitement and the next thing she knew she was at the foot of his bed, he screamed bloody murder from under his duvet as she did the same, utterly petrified. One moment she’d been home, surrounded by her friends and family and the next she was covering her eyes shrieking as if she’d never seen a boys torso before.
Adolescence:
At first, they’d thought her power was just some bastardised amalgamation of her parents and in that thought they were not entirely wrong, they’d simply underestimated her. Originally, it was thought that she could teleport through electromagnetic currents, that all she needed was an energy field to move her from point A to point B. Useful, but nonthreatening. She would be a low threat mutant, free to proceed with the minimal boundaries she already began to chafe within. What was threatening, however, was a teenager with unvetted access through any firewall you could create. The ability to upload her consciousness and manipulate the digital world from its very base code. She could waltz into bank accounts, government classifieds and her favourite actors dm’s in an afternoon and there was no way to stop her. It left them all confronted with a problem: if they declare as they were legally obligated, what happened from there? She’d be on every government watch list, that was for sure. How long until they sent some recruiter, promising her that she could stop the next cold war with just an afternoon of snooping. Somehow, useful mutants always seemed to end up on the same path; just following orders.
Aaron went to James, begging for a solution to bury this. James understood the fear a microscope on you for the rest of your life could produce and he’d seen first hand the terrible outcome of when that immense pressure went wrong. Even if he didn’t understand, who else had a better chance of helping them? What couldn’t the Starks sponge away if they really wanted to? He helped them forge the documents, having their doctors turn a blind eye when her powers were tested and declaring that she was a low level teleporter. She would need to lie about it until the day she died. She would need to ensure she wasn’t caught doing anything that could lead to suspicion that her papers were incorrect. Corinna was as grateful as she was frustrated.
School was suddenly warmer. Now that her teachers were certain she wasn’t going to burst into flames or begin spraying acid if they handed her back a negative grade, they seemed less on edge. When students began to press her to know her mutation, she would respond ‘teleportation’ in a flat tone, only to be met with the occasional: must beat taking the bus. Pretty soon, even the kids who had mocked her started to thaw. It only served to make her more irritable. There was nothing wrong with her actual mutation, why should she have to lie so they could feel safe? It was annoying. The more they tried to buddy up with her now, the harder Corey yanked away.
She instead sought refuge, going to the photo lab to transport herself away. She’d lock the door, lay beneath the desk with her phone in hand. While her consciousness bonded to the digital world, her body would be left exposed. She needed somewhere safe and during lunch, no one disturbed her here. Sometimes she’d snoop, read the comments her teachers had made about her on reports or the reports of her friends. Other times she’d just find a false world, spend her time there until her alarm pulled her out. She could start with nothing but a blank page and soon have created a world so lifelike there were times she struggled to tell the difference. The longer she stayed, the less she wanted to leave. Inside the system, she could do as she liked, why would she want the real world and its consequences?
It is beautiful beneath the sea, but if you stay too long, you'll drown.
She had been there for almost three hours, ignoring her alarm and the schools shrill bell. Her typical lunch break period was forgone and for the first time Corey let herself indulge as much as she liked, who cares if she missed class? What could they tell her there that she couldn’t learn in here? But suddenly the words began to tremble and the rock that corinna had been leaning against wobbled until she lost her balance, free falling into sudden darkness only to land inside her convulsing body. With the door locked, no one could reach her no matter how much she attempted to cry out for help, still rattling helplessly. She tried to grip her phone but it slipped from her fingers as she attempted to dial, landing beside her on the laminate. She croaked out a voice activation, asking her phone to call mom. As the dial tone rang, Corey made a last ditch grab for the phone, vaulting through and suddenly disheveled in the passengers seat of her mom’s car, causing Millie to scream and swerve, almost ending up on the other side of the road. Corinna’s eyes rolled back into her head and the rest was a blur.
That was the day she learned her limits, to not stretch beyond her means. If you stay too long, you’ll drown. They tried to pinpoint what happened, landing eventually on focal seizures of unknown origin, but she knew what it had actually felt like; like she’d gripped an high voltage electric fence and been unable to let go. It sobered her. When she returned to school, her trips to the photo lab were at an end, but her day dreaming and disruptive distrust of authority remained. When she fell so far behind that even her parents acknowledged there would be no recovery, they allowed her to drop out. Instead obtaining a GED from home.
Young Adulthood:
They’d been flying back from Montana, just Corey and her dad. Unbeknownst to her, fishing had not been the intention for the trip. Instead, Aaron had been looking at a house, far from New York and the prying eyes that Corinna hadn’t known was even upon them. Eyes that would provide a reason her father never talked about his family. Eyes with hands that had been inching closer since she was documented officially. She was eighteen now and the world not so hellbent on keeping her protected anymore. The seatbelt sign had only just come off when the plane began to sputter and wheeze, the turbulence so erratic that at points it felt like they were free falling. She refastened her belt, clutching her dad’s hand as she heaved deep breaths, eyes firmly shut. The lights began to flicker in time with her pounding pulse, the cabin pressure making her ears feel uncomfortably full and heavy as she felt her cheeks grow cold with frightened tears. Her dad tried to reassure her, holding tight as the hoped for the plane to suddenly correct. Instead, the ground came up to greet them as Corinna’s stomach remained in the clouds above. Aaron knew his choices were limited now. He pulled out his phone, switching off airplane mode and calling Millie as he thrusted the phone against his daughters ear. The moment she heard her mom’s voice over the message tone, Corinna felt a tug and suddenly falling felt like floating and her seatbelt was gone. When her eyes opened she was standing in her parents room by the nightstand, confused and trembling.
It took almost ten seconds for the stupor to dissipate and she caved in on herself with a scream. Millie appeared at the sound frantically, taking in her daughter sobbing on her knees desperately trying to call her father back over and over, begging for him to answer. She didn’t need to ask, she knew. She knew the only series of events that could unfold to bring them here. Corey felt her arms wrap around her, joining her on the floor rather than trying to pull the girl up. Through her terrible sobs, Corinna tried to explain but all that came out was incomprehensible cries.
The plane wreckage was never discovered and the missing were presumed dead. Search parties were issued for the remains but after a week, they phoned it in. The volunteers were tired and if a survivor managed to pull through, they’d be dead or found by now. It didn’t stop Corey from googling daily, eventually falling down rabbit holes when the news simply moved on. Instead, she found conspiracy blogs. She paced like a ghost, adamant in her denial and intolerably impatient with people who disagreed. If they crashed, where was the plane? She insisted over and over. People would respond: sometimes these things just happen. No they didn’t. Soon Corinna began looking into numerous missing flights, trying to identify those missing to discover who among them had been mutant. Be it confirmation bias or a loose end she’d managed to stumble into, Corinna was fully invested now, believing that numerous unexplained disappearances were the result of mutant abductions to black sites.
For the first time since that day in the photo lab, Corinna began diving back into the web with more than just her laptop. Uploading her consciousness and searching for her father. His bank accounts, his phone location, his blood type, anything and everything. She fell down every nook and cranny she could find, every Aaron Sparks was under scrutiny hoping to find some trace that her father was alive. It was there, in the toxic warrens, she found the first image of her grandparents she ever saw. A man in an army uniform with a young Aaron atop his shoulders and a wife beaming at his side. From there it hadn’t taken long to wiggle her way into confidential documents, talking about creating an energy source from a mutant capable of electro interference, how they might contain it, produce it, expand it. All signed by Lieutenant General Sparks.
Adulthood:
DD180821 is typing... It’s how Corinna spent most of her evenings from age nineteen, waiting eagerly for the next message. They’d met in the comments of a post of all things. Linked up and spoken online ever since. For all her paranoia and suspicion, they’d made fast friends. Truth was, she’d been getting lonely. Adrift from her childhood friends who were no longer willing to indulge her that Aaron was out there somewhere, waiting to be rescued. She just wanted someone to talk to, someone she didn’t have to hide herself in front of but most importantly, someone who also believed her dad was alive out there somewhere. They said they’d been looking for someone too and asked her what she would say if they knew some people who might want to help them? People who were just like them, lost and looking for the people they loved?
Apparently the answer would be an emphatic yes. The friends of a friend called themselves The Rancors, a mutant group forming in the underbelly of society hellbent on the return and relocation of abducted mutants. They cited the mass extractions carried out by Petra Maximoff and Sarah Rogers prior to their demise as inspiration for what they one day hoped to achieve. ( Within that group, there was a subset that believed Petra had been the key to the apocalypse and that there had been some key to stopping the world ending event. Corey didn’t think so, James didn’t sound like a prophet when he spoke about them. Just sad. ) They talked about how these black sites were no longer an easy place to wind up. There was no crime that could get you sent there, really. The only people inside were the ones they wanted, regardless of their guilt or innocence. Whatever method was behind their list of names remained a mystery, all they knew was there were twice as many children as adults. They existed with purpose, no one in or out that was unaccounted for. No muscle could break in alone, no mind control could disable the guards alone, no tech sparker could disable the building’s circuit alone. They swore to her that if her father’s had “crashed” almost certainly landed him in there. It sounded worse than a death sentence, how could refuse the call to arms?
They told her she was the key they’d been waiting for. That if only they had the funds, they could begin their extractions as early as the following year. These operations were expensive and they existed below the radar. Not a lot of places to make money under the radar. First they asked her about Maria and if she could find a way for Stark Industries to fund them, off the record. Corey already knew there wasn’t a chance she could ask, the first sentence would be enough to incriminate her with her mother and James. They deflated until Beckha came up with another plan: wait for a fundraising event, in a room full of the obscenely rich and use Corinna’s powers to sink into their phone, skim a little from their account because who misses a hundred thousand dollars when you have 11 billion? And skip out before anyone was the wiser. It felt wrong and the thought of getting caught terrified her, but what could they do? If they didn’t start the extractions, every day that goes by could be another mutant dead, of course she had to oblige. Her naivety working overtime to stay in tact as she convinced herself that this wasn’t really stealing. This was the cost needed to save lives. She wore the dress, going with one of the men on her arm and each time they managed to come across someone particularly unobservant, Corey would hover her hand above their phone with Alex behind to catch her as she collapsed catatonic, holding her upright for the eight seconds it took to return to herself. If anyone asked, she place the blame on her seizures, giving her a reason to bail out of the event if the attention was too hot as well.
It worked. Con after con it worked and month after month they told her to exercise patience. Now at twenty-three, Corey has been to only one black site. It had been abandoned so long she wasn’t sure anyone had even set foot in it over the past decade. She wants to find her dad but is beginning to feel hopeless, in water too deep for herself with no one from home to help haul her out. The more she wants to leave, the more they tell her that her father is only around the next corner. If she walked away now, it would have all been for nothing right? She believes all of this will lead to him one day, unable to live with the alternative.
Present Day:
There are no sites. At least none found by The Rancors. The real black sites are unsurprisingly far more difficult to obtain intel on. The only truth to what they said was it was impossible to wind up there by accident. But for the most part, Ice Box prisons had made way for brainwashed and willing participants. Government experiments more covert than ever with the increased popularity for mutant rights being promoted by the public. They weren’t housed in cells anymore, they were held in apartment blocks. Not slaves but heroes. Given the illusion of choice. The Nations learned to hide behind gentler appearances, programs like the Thackery twins and their grooming. It was safer, more effective. Beaten dogs bite back, but well trained and loved pets were reliable. No torture could ever produce the same loyalty as love and the fear of having that love removed. Corinna still believes that the money she is stealing is leading to better intel and weapons, more security and that the more she brings the quicker they will begin their infiltrations and bring herself closer to finding her father. Her father that is supposedly rotting in a prison that does not really exist. Her Rancor friends fight to keep control over her, to ensure she does not stray from the path, knowing full well they are conning the girl and setting her to take the fall for the millions of dollars they had her steal.
However, regardless of whether or not Corey knows it, the issue remains of who founded The Rancors and for what purpose. Whether it be a get rich quick scheme or something more nefarious orchestrated by General Sparks, the only living connection she has managed to find of her father, remains unclear.

skamfr is so much more fun when you ignore the plot, steal the characters from the show, and instead come up with headcanons about them. so therefore important scientific question: what type of music do we think la mif listens to?? here is my contribution to that below the cut. (my knowledge of french music is limited so this is english-based; apologies if the read more doesn’t work & you have to see all of this, im tagging it as “long post” so).
sekou: i feel like it’s been established that sekou is kind & empathetic in very “quiet” but important ways. he does things where you’re like, oh yeah that’s nice. but thinking about them beyond a surface level, they’re actually very meaningful: for example, hacking the account. that was second nature for him, an immediate reaction! but he took the lead from lola on what she wanted to do with it, and then took it down when she was ready, no questions asked, giving her agency (something she craves; also “maybe you’re just a good person” FIRST person all season to say that). so this is me saying i think he likes music where the emotion is...carefully constructed, but still powerful, still gut-punching. like classical/orchestral? or soundtrack music!! hello we KNOW he’s a future oscar winner (perhaps eliott would’ve been too had he listened to sekou's advice). he likes analysing films & their sound design, he loves the one for interstellar since the entire film is just science stuff + the power of love. he also likes beyonce and rihanna; songs like “xo”, “cheers to the weekend”, “bitch better have my money” and “countdown” remind him of dumb nights out with his friends. he also loves classic artists like whitney & tina turner: people you can dance to! videos on their insta + samedi 6:43 prove this (remember when he was going wild in the background when mayla were trying to flirt? legend).
lola: canonically didn’t like the music playing @ that bar (hip-hop i believe?). also canonically a dramatic teen: she has used music in her insta stories TWICE to call maya out, so i think she just listens to whatever she likes that happens to match her mood, and stares out the window pretending to be in a music video when she does so. but perhaps secretly prefers pop? or music she can jump and scream her lungs out to, like “i wanna get better” by bleachers or “shake it out” by florence and the machine? also if no one else is going to say it....she's a swiftie. she heard “love story” when she was eight and her heart ACHED with the forbidden romance of it all because when you're eight you somehow relate to lyrics you've never experienced irl, and she's sworn allegiance to taylor ever since. also definitely a paramore fan; she had a crush on hayley williams (“hard times”, “ain’t it fun”, and “the only exception” are her anthems, depending on the mood).
max: okay according to their insta he plays the guitar and SINGS so i think he probably listens to a lot of folksy/indie acoustic stuff, or at least plays a lot of them, and when la mif go camping he whips out the guitar and they have a sing-a-long. sometimes he leads; sometimes he'll fade into the background because he wants to listen to his friends or gets super into the strumming. either way he takes a bow at the end. sufjan stevens maybe when he's yearning over sekou (“i can’t explain the state that i’m in / the state of my heart, he was my best friend.”) also fleetwood mac (“the chain” when he’s angsty; “landslide” when it’s quiet & he hums it). but also rap and r&b? specifically stuff that hypes him up when he goes jogging or is urbex-ing by himself / when it's a somber, quiet group session. 100% a raleigh ritchie stan (they play "the greatest" in the car when they're driving at night; i think it's an anthem for them, max drums it on the wheel).
maya: canonically loves harry styles (she follows him on insta), but i am yet to decide whether this means she was one of those lesbians who Just Thought One Direction Were Neat, projected comphet crushes on them, or simply watched the music video for “watermelon sugar” and was like...i see the vision harry i see it!!! hayley kiyoko was important to her as a japanese lesbian teen girl but i think she's branched out to listen to other lgbt artists of colour now, like the internet (she vibes to “girl” when cleaning the apartment), frank ocean (she listens to his cover of “moon river” when she misses lola), and rina sawayama (“stfu!” when she’s having a bad day and/or dealing with racists @ work). however as a maya apologist i think it's important we also recognize that she has been known to canonically have, uh, questionable taste sometimes...so let's all accept that she unironically loves the glee cast version of “don't stop believin'” and move on! (we can discuss who the gleeks in la mif are later).
jo: ok this is the hardest one imo bc i think she’s most likely to follow in eliott’s footsteps and enjoy dubstep or something equally left field / cringey we can bully her for. but she canonically also likes reality shows and hates documentaries per their insta which seems like a more (for lack of better words) “mainstream” and "basic" thing to do, so to combine both feelings...electronic pop maybe? she definitely streamed charli xcx’s newest album & prefers her experimental stuff to her earlier pop stuff, but she mostly likes bouncing up and down. actually wait i want jo to stan, fucking...100 gecs or someone equally terrible. i want nobody in la mif to ever hand her the aux cord for that exact reason, but lola doesn't know she's unofficially banned from having it yet, so the first time they’re driving to urbex together she's like hey lola can you pass me that :D and lola does and la mif just FREEZE having realised too late and lola's very ???? but before they can do anything, the intro to “money machine” is being blasted, jo’s going feral, and lola is like. ok understood.

Max’s hacks for taking T
I’ve been taking T for a little over a year now, and realized that there are some things that I do that might be helpful for others to know! (Disclaimer: please listen to everything your doctor tells you. Always take their word over mine. I’m not a medical expert, just a guy that wants to make T less difficult.) All of these tips are from someone who does injections on their own, and may not apply to different methods.
1. Ask your doctor if you can switch to taking half your dose every week. This helped me tremendously, because I had a constant flow in my body. T in the body lasts roughly 2 weeks, so taking it every week means that you don’t get that dramatic drop and then skyrocket in levels that really used to bother me.
2. If you’re allergic to adhesives like me, consider buying those tiny circular band-aids! I sometimes scar from larger bandages, but with these little guys and a bit of aloe gel to soothe my skin afterwards that doesn't happen much anymore.
3. Inject yourself at the start of the chorus of a song! Man, this one was hugely helpful for when I first started giving myself my own injections and still now! Knowing that the needle is going in me when that chorus hits whether I like it or not is so good to keep me from getting freaked. And listening to the music is nice in general. I’ve made a playlist for myself of Songs I Take T to so I don’t have to think of a new one if I don’t feel like it. (I’d highly recommend The Chain by Fleetwood Mac for the section when the bass plays and Lizzo’s Good As Hell just because.)
4. This tip might be a bit more extreme and probably wont be the best choice for everyone. But it helped me to get a tattoo outlining the injectable sections of my leg so I don’t inject in the same place every time (which I’m super afraid of). I also got a very square like shape with subsections that I can subsection myself (each corner and the middle) to make it even more dispersed. Even though the result was a little smaller than I realized I wanted, Having a permanent frame of reference is so nice and eases my anxiety a lot. I’m planning on getting it on the other leg too. It’s also nice to see it when showering or wearing shorts and being reminded that I’m living my true life.
5. Ask if your pharmacy how many needles/syringes you can buy for the same price you're paying. I found that at my pharmacy (through my university) was charging me a flat fee whether I bought 10 needles or 3, and asking them to give me as many as I can buy for about $10 got them to give me a huge amount (I can’t remember how many) and save over $400. I’m not sure if all pharmacies do this but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
6. Get a cute little little container for your T supplies! I have a huge bag filled with bulk needles etc. in my closet and keep just enough to last me for a month in these cute plastic drawers I got from a dollar store. It makes things so much more fun and lighthearted and less scary to pull my supplies out of my tiny $1 dresser! :)
7. I learned this one from my dance instructor after asking for her help. Right before injecting put your index finger and thumb around where you plan on injecting and shake your quad out. This will get it warm and for lack of a better word, pliable. Less painful in my opinion. Make sure not to touch the spot you’re injecting if you’ve already sterilized it.
8. Give yourself a treat after every injection! I usually go for an ice cream sandwich or something similar but rewarding yourself with anything that you like, whether it’s food or drawing or watching a TV show, having something to look forward to after the ouch helps me get mine done without waiting too long.
If it ends up that everyone already knows all of these things I’m sorry if I wasted your time. I hope this helps someone! Feel free to message me with questions or if you just want to chat! And to everyone that wants to start T but can’t yet, the result is worth the wait. I believe in you. Stay strong, my brothers.

Only For A Moment Ch. 34
Only For A Moment Master List
Pairing: Bucky X Reader
Summary: For most of your life you’d been able to keep your abilities a secret, that is until Hydra got wind of you. After years of being in their clutches, you break out when The Avengers expose SHIELD/Hydra. Since then, you’ve been on the run. Things are going as well as you could hope when you see a familiar face… Could the Winter Soldier really be in Bucharest too?
Warnings: Feels, fluff, cute shit.
A/N: Muh babies. Muh reader (who I call Jude for anyone that cares). Just... I really want them to be happy. Y’all gotta know that. Like I have fucking FEELINGS for these characters. It sucks lol.
Just a heads up. Y’all may be getting a real beefy chapter 34 next week. I know most of these have been pretty short thus far (clocking in under 2k words) but I’m having a hard time finding the right place to cut it. SO let me know: Do you like that these chapters are shorter? Do you want beefier chapters? I wanna know!
Love y’all!!!

The feeling of his lips on your palm sends shivers up your spine. You want those lips, that mouth… everywhere. But it’s far from time for that.
No matter how much you think you can’t pinpoint what may have set him off. Maybe something out on the job today? Too many people?
“Buck…” You can’t seem to form the words, not wanting to pry but your concern sits heavy in your chest.
He smiles, you’re surprised to see it reach his eyes, “The pie,” your brows knit in confusion. “I… my Ma used to make apple pie all the time… the smell just… caught me off guard is all. Lot’s of memories.” Gently he strokes your face with his right fingers, “Good memories.”
You can’t help but smile even though your heart is breaking for him, “Do… do you want some? Made fresh coffee too.”
“Yeah, that’d be great,” he looks down at his dirty clothes. “Let me change first.” Lowering yourself to the floor you move out of his way.
When the bathroom door closes you stare at it for a second worry eating at you. Even good memories could hurt… especially when they were linked to loss. You knew that all too well. It kills you a little that it hit him so hard.
This just solidifies a thought you had earlier in the day. He needs a phone if he doesn’t have one. If he had one you could have told him you were making a pie. It would have been passing to you but he could have mentally prepared maybe. Not to mention the less innocuous reasons to have a way to contact one another.
You’re moving the tall stack of CDs and the laptop from the table when he comes out. The white tee strains over his chest as his muscles subtly move under the fabric while he dries his hands on a small towel. Its hem skims the top of the loose jeans slung low on his hips. You swallow hard and turn back to your task.
“What’s all this?” He asks with a smile.
“Your musical education.” You set the laptop and CDs on the counter by the stove before turning to get you both pie and coffee. “Or the beginning of it.”
He laughs a little picking up the top CD, Queen’s greatest hits. “I liked whatever you had on earlier.”
“I should hope so,” you turn back to him smirking, “if not we would be having some serious problems. Queen is non-negotiable.”
“Noted. Here,” he comes over and grabs the plates with a slice each, carrying them to the table.
You follow with the coffee, “I haven’t made pie in years,” you sit across from him, “so don’t judge it too harshly.”
A half smile lifts his lips, “I have no doubt it’ll be amazing.” He reaches across the table, his fingers grazing the back of your hand wrapped around the mug, “Thank you.”
“It’s just pie,” he rolls his eyes playfully, “but you’re welcome.”
He takes a bite, eyes closing as he savors it, and you anxiously wait for feedback. When his eyes open, he catches your stare. He laughs, “Are you gonna watch me eat the whole thing?”
“Just nervous,” you grumble, shoving a bite in your own mouth, mostly for the distraction. Honestly, it’s pretty damn good.
“It’s great just like I knew it would be, and you,” he points with his fork, “are ridiculous.”
“I thought you said ‘amazing’,” you say over a mouth full.
This earns you a laugh, “It’s amazing. Better?”
You shake your head “I suppose.”
For a bit you sit in comfortable silence, enjoying the treat. You chase a large bit of flaky crust with a gulp of coffee before asking, “Do you have a phone?”
He raises a brow, “That’s out of left field. But… No? Haven’t had a need… Why?”
“Thought it may be good for us to have some way to get in touch. Like if one of us runs late or if there’s pie waiting,” Or if the group of Nazis who tortured us for years shows up. You know you don’t have to say the last bit. It’s implied.
He nods, “Good point.” Taking another bite he looks pensive. “Phones are easy to track though.”
“Not if you set ‘em up right,” you pull yours from your back pocket. “If anyone tracks this it’ll ping them to Africa. Hacked it myself. We can do the same to yours.”
“Sounds good. Should come up with some shorthand too. Make sure we can communicate a lot of info quickly if we need to.”
“Definitely. Tomorrow?”
“I got more stuff to do on the job,” you notice his eyes avoid yours. Interesting.
“Ok, I can grab one, get it set up.” You stand to wake up the laptop, “For now though, it’s time for school.”
By 10pm you’ve made a simple meal, the whole pie is gone, and you’ve given him a thorough history lesson on why Queen is inarguably one of the best bands of the 20th century. He sees the appeal, though some songs, such as Bicycle, give him pause. Now you’ve moved on to Fleetwood. Another non-negotiable.
His head is resting on the arm of the couch, body stretched out, legs dangling off the other end. You’re on the floor, back against the couch. Gently he runs the fingers of his right-hand through the short crop of your hair as the album Fleetwood Mac plays. Rhiannon is wrapping up and you’re half a world away in your mind, spinning on a rooftop with ghosts. His voice, soft and drowsy, pulls you back to this little apartment in Romania.
“This makes me think of you” Bucky’s fingers pause, and a smile warms his half-closed eyes before he yawns.
Your heart tightens a little. Nix would call you Rhiannon sometimes, he knew what you could do so anything witchy he’d lovingly associate with you. You aren’t at a place to divulge this though, it’s too real, too personal.
“You look tired.” He nods. You were already in a pair of leggings you’d bought earlier and a tee, perfect sleepwear. “Come to bed,” you grab his hand and gently tug him in the direction of the mattress but he doesn’t budge.
“I’m ok here,” you give him a look. He is not a small man and it is a small couch.
“You are not.”
“Really, this is fine.”
You sigh, if he didn’t want to share a bed that was fine but there’s no way you’re letting him sleep like that. If he even can. “Don’t be ridiculous. Sleep on the bed, I can take the couch, I’m shorter.”
“Y/N-” You roll your eyes, cutting him off by wrapping your power around him and lifting him just a touch. His eyes meet yours, awestruck.
“Don’t make me move you. I can,” you smirk.
“I almost want to make you,” he grins mischievously, “just to see if you really can.”
You raise an eyebrow. Without ceremony, you will him up and let him plop hard onto the mattress with a thud. It was always easier when you were doing it for fun. He looks genuinely surprised.
“How do you think I got you in my squat after knocking you out?” His head is on your pillow and you yank it from under him with your power sending it floating to the couch.
He laughs, “I didn’t think about it honestly. It’s pretty damn impressive.”
“I know,” you wink. “You gonna sleep in your jeans?”
“If I say yes are you going to threaten to strip me?”
“Don’t tempt me.”
He reaches up from his spot on the bed and gently rubs the back of your calf with his left hand, fingers squeezing slightly. For a second you think he is going to tempt you, your mouth practically waters at the thought, but a shadow covers his features.
“I think I can handle that,” he gives you a halfhearted smile before getting up and going to the bathroom.
Disappointment wraps around you. Picking up your copy of Frankenstein from the table you cozy yourself on the couch. You finished it earlier today but had started again, from the beginning immediately. It had been a while since words had brought you a strange sense of comfort like this.
Bucky comes out in just his boxers and you force yourself to not stare, to not want what he so clearly wasn’t offering. He walks over to you and you allow him a warm smile. Something is troubling him, you don’t want to add your worry and disappointment to his shoulders.
When he cups your upturned face in his hands your heart skips a beat. His eyes are more grey, stormy though not cold, and you can’t quite read the emotion in his face. Instead of trying to make sense you cover his hands with your own and just savor the feeling of his touch.
He leans down and you hold your breath, hungry for his lips. But they only press against your forehead tenderly. Now you can read the emotion on his face as easily as the book at your side. Sadness and disappointment.
“Goodnight, Y/N.” His smile is tight, his eyes glistening. As he pulls away it takes every ounce of strength you have to not pull him to you, to not kiss him, hold him, try to calm the sea of hurt in him.
“Sleep well, Buck.” He doesn’t say anything else, just lays down with his back to you.
You flip the light off, no longer in the mood to read, and lay down too. For a few minutes, you watch the steady rise and fall of his breathing, your mind working over everything.
He had been distant since his flashback. Every touch extra gentle, almost every action thought out. Then, despite all the kindness he’d shown you, he seemed shocked you accepted the key to his place. It’s as if he’s just waiting for you to run screaming… You realize that’s exactly what he’s waiting for.
“Bucky,” your voice is soft, not wanting to startle or wake him if he is asleep.
“Hmm?” Drowsy but still conscious.
“I want you to know, I meant it before. I’m not afraid of you...” Silence thunders in the space. You know he heard you…
“I know,” his tone is measured. Relief floods your system for a second before he follows with, “I’m scared enough for the both of us.”

What is the Purpose behind this Website?
About
Other places on the 'net
Outlook dot com email address is my username
Who are you? MINECRAFTSERVERS
I am a specialist in embedded device development and have worked on some amazing stuff, including space satellites and the overhaul of a department's reporting system.
Retro technology (everything is more interesting when there are limitations), indie games and riding my bike through nature trails, public transport, and Sonic the Hedgehog are all things I am obsessed with. I am always open to trying new things. Who knows? Perhaps I'll discover a brand new favorite thing. It's always fun.

How to Get Your Small Business Featured on TikTok For You Page
The goal of every content creator on TikTok is to have their videos featured on the For You Page (FYP). As a small business owner who understands that TikTok is an essential marketing tool in 2020 and is investing time in the platform, how can you get your content featured on the FYP?
We’ve put together a complete guide for you with everything you need to know about getting your videos featured on the FYP.
What is TikTok’s FYP?
The FYP is TikTok’s version of a homefeed and is the first feed someone sees when they open up their TikTok app. The For You Page’s algorithm functions in a similar way to Instagram’s Explore page – users can view an endless stream of trending TikTok videos curated just for them, based on their interests and past videos they’ve engaged with.
The Benefits of TikTok For Businesses
The platform isn’t just for entertaining dance videos – businesses can achieve big business goals if they approach the platform correctly. Here are a few benefits of TikTok for your business:
     Increase brand awareness
   Showcase your brand’s authenticity
   Build trust among the public
   Generate buzz and even PR
   Drive sales & generate leads
   Encourage new website traffic
   Connect with new audiences
   Build loyalty among younger customers
Give your customers a more raw, real view into your company
Create quality video content to post on all social platforms
   It’s a ton of fun!
Why Businesses Should Care About Getting Featured on the FYP
Why should your business care about trying to get onto TikTok’s For You Page? It’s simple – getting your video onto the For You Page is the best way to increase views and build a follower base TikTok, which will in turn help you achieve your business goals, like attracting new customers and increasing sales in a cost-effective way.
How Does TikTok’s FYP Work?
The best part of TikTok’s For You Page is how unique it is for each user because TikTok’s algorithm will tailor content specifically to each user’s preferences. The worst part? No one really knows exactly how TikTok’s FYP algorithm works!
So how do you get your business on TikTok’s For You Page if we don’t know exactly how the algorithm works? We’ve watched thousands of videos and have put together a list of 8 key secrets to hack the algorithm and get your business’ TikTok videos trending on the FYP.
8 Tips to Get Your Small Business on the TikTok For You Page
So what can your small business do to make the TikTok algorithm work for you and get one of your videos on the For You Page? Below are 8 actionable tips and theories to help you hack the TikTok algorithm and get your business on the FYP:
 1. Post Videos Often – The math is simple on this one – the more TikTok videos you create and post, the more chances you will get to end up on the FYP page. One thing you need to know about TikTok is that things are unpredictable – no one really ever knows which videos will get the most views and ‘go viral,’ so it’s best to post often to increase the odds of getting your TikTok videos onto the For You Page.
 2. Create Suspenseful Videos – We’ve noticed a major trend with many of the videos on TikTok’s For You Page…they often have a suspenseful, cliffhanger ending! Try to create TikTok videos that are suspenseful and force the viewer to watch the whole video to see the end result. Why? It’s been theorized that a video is more likely to go viral and get onto many users’ For You Pages if someone watches the entire video from start to finish.
Here’s some inspiration from content creator @ImThatLauren:

 3. Engage after posting – This is a good tip for every social media platform – it’s always important to engage with your followers, especially right after you’ve posted. A good rule of thumb is to spend 20-30 minutes after you’ve posted your TikTok video to engage with your followers, new accounts and especially anyone who has commented on your video.
 4. Participate in Challenges – A TikTok challenge includes a few key elements: a trending song, your unique spin on the challenge and a hashtag. Watch some of the videos in your FYP to see what challenges and songs are trending then see if your business can recreate a challenge with a unique spin on it. Always be sure to make it your own and follow the community guidelines.
 5. Reward Loyal Customers – Are there any customers of yours who are already on TikTok and have already posted about your business? Be sure to engage with them and thank them for their support! A great example of this recently was the viral ‘Ocean Spray Guy’ TikTok video. An Ocean Spray customer’s video went viral (it’s currently at 53.4 million views!) so the company celebrated by gifting him a new truck, full of Cran-Raspberry juice of course.

 6. Use Trending Music – Music is key to the TikTok experience and using trending songs will help your business get on the FYP faster. TikTok will show you which songs are trending and if you find a video with a song that you want to use eventually, click on the music title at the bottom of the TikTok to ‘Add to Favorites’ to easily use later on.
 7. Include a Few Hashtags  – While no one really seems to know exactly how the TikTok algorithm works, we know users can discover videos through hashtags, so it’s a strategy we can’t skip. You might have noticed that people often use a ton of hashtags on Instagram and your first instinct might be to include as many hashtags as possible on TikTok as well.
However, it seems like shorter is better when it comes to TikTok’s FYP. We don’t recommend going above 3 hashtags to help keep your caption simple & clean. And make sure any hashtags you include are relevant and trending – TikTok will show you how many views each hashtag has and indicates FYP trending hashtags with a little fire icon.

 8. Ask For Engagement – Think it sounds desperate to ask people to like your videos? Not when it comes to TikTok! TikTok users have found creative ways to increase views and get onto the For You Page. For example, many trending videos will have captions such as ‘if this gets enough likes, I’ll post a part 2!’ A few other examples include captions like, ‘TikTok do your thing!’ or ‘No one believed in my business idea, prove them wrong by liking this video.’
