Arranged by: Nocti (@noctiilio)
Genre: Sonic CD tribute/Dance
"Kaguya is in a particularly good mood. Having beat one of her recent favorite games, she off handedly mentioned loving to have a variant of one of its stages fashioned after herself. Which of course, Eientei promptly put into motion to hopefully make that wish into a reality."

I Touhou voted by the way. My picks were, if anyone cares:
Characters: DiPP Jacket girl, DiPP Label girl, Akyuu, Yuugenmagan, Sariel, Medicine, Kikuri
Games: 1-5 (kind of a lame choice but oh well)
Music: Shanghai teahouse ~ Chinese tea, Lovely mound of cherry blossoms ~ Flower of Japan, Frontal attack (the fact that it's even an option is frankly just bait for me, and I took it), False strawberry, Now until the moment we die, Forest of dolls, Hourai legend, Alice Maestra, Flight of the bamboo cutter ~ Lunatic princess
I have pretentious imageboard man tastes, I know. As much as I hate that demographic.

Touhou Main Series Tracks Assigned to OCs: A Post That Exists Only For Me
This exists to track my thoughts on this matter. In fact, I'll even pin it. It may periodically be updated to reflect changed thoughts. But this is where we're at.
Balthazar- Desire Drive
Honestly I didn't even try with this one. Barely checked my archive. But why would I need to when Desire Drive is right there. Maybe I'll do a proper check later but like. C'mon. It's whimsical and sweet and daydreamy, but also relentlessly driving. And Necromantic. Its moments of melancholic smoothness and melodramatic breaks create a perfect duality for this bright but sorrowful creature.
Carmen- Septette for the Dead Princess
I also didn't bother checking this. It's been on her playlist forever and is just self evident to me. Gothic, dramatic, full of dark gravity... perhaps something harsher would suit her better, but the dignified decay of a vampire princess feels very appropriate for a knight with rusted ideals. Also the trumpets :)
Kasander- Native Faith
Quick, bright, and joyful, this is bursting with enthusiasm and whimsy. That it forms the base for Teto's famous theme is no surprise... Native Faith easily beat out every other consideration for its irrepressible energy and how happy it felt. And its theme swap break, while full of a certain boss battle urgency, doesn't slow or dampen it. It gives a certain sense of untarnishable heroism that suits Kasander perfectly. Even when tried, Kasander never loses that light.
Asperia- Necrofantasia
Asperia... he was so hard. Finding something in Touhou that felt suitably menacing or sorrowful without being too delicate, too slow, or too bright was hard. Necrofantasia is the best I think I'm doing, but honestly the song I have most in mind is Night Falls ~ Evening Star- specifically the AoCF arrangement. At any rate, Necrofantasia is driving, gothic, and ominous for much of its duration, and its aggressive start feels especially appropriate. I think it hits the right balance of brightness against that to suggest another side to them and capture a sense of energy and momentum without undercutting the initial impression. There's also an edge to that brightness that's a bit hopeful and almost sad- the blessed princess waiting for someone to rescue her.
Ismene- Flight of the Bamboo Cutter ~ Lunatic Princess
This was easy as fuck. It was incredibly obvious. It has such a brightness to it, such a magic. But there's also something fierce and overwhelming to it. It has power and presence while still being as delicate as a classic princess. That's perfect for her: a dainty woman who is, nevertheless, a commanding presence and a formidable magician and oracle. The embodiment of majesty. That's the kind of princess Ismene is.
Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon is probably my favorite Touhou song, though I also quite like Flight of the Bamboo Cutter ~ Lunatic Princess and Catastrophe in Bhavaagra ~ Wonderful Heaven a lot! Imperishable Night might just have my favorite soundtrack overall.
14. Any fan theories that catch your interest?
I'm sure there are some I liked and have even taken inspiration of for my own lore portrayals, but it's hard to think of any on the spot... so I'm not sure. None that stand out in my mind too strongly, anyways.
21. What keeps you interested in Touhou?
Even if the fandom slows down, they just never stop with the content. It's pretty amazing, honestly. The roleplay fandom really helps as well, since it lets me keep writing the characters, which is an easy way for me to maintain an interest in them.
hello hello it's ya girllllll this is by far one of my most ambitious projects. i've been a touhou fan for a decade and i owe my music career to zun's work in a way, that's how i started. so i've come full circle into making this passion project of an album it's also up for a FREE download on bandcamp!
This is a Touhou 90's album, with many beloved themes from different games processed through multiple genres of that decade, late and early!
🔁 Spread it if you can! i don't have a large audience so this would mean the world to me if i got to make my way through new people!
