Do they make cute ass makeup for colored people? I’m talking things like Flower Knows, Rom&nf, Florasis, Dasique, etc. Like I know SOME of the products from those brands work on colored skin, but many of them dont or at the very least the fun parts dont. Like I’d LOVE to have the miffy makeup collection but, obviously, much of it isn’t in my shade range so I’d be wasting my own money and I dont think I should have to basically replace the foundation in those cute cusion foundations to make it work. I’m just sayin that if it doesn’t exist maybe someone should get on it. Untapped market

Another Florasis “Blooming Rouge Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick” review!  So really I’m only reviewing my two new ones, but since I now have five, I thought I would show y’all what they each look like.

So, first 2 pics are in the shade M140 “Phoenix”.  It’s a retro scarlet red, with a bit of a blue undertone...if you want to compare the colors, think of Fenty’s “Uncensored” or Gwen Stefani’s liquid lipstick in the shade “Original Red”.  It’s a great holiday red and looks flattering on everyone.

Second 2 pics are in the shade M142 “Red Bean”.  It’s a cool mid-tone red, and as you can see, it’s a little brighter than M140 (the lighting really doesn’t help, but I promise you, they are different shades).  Also a really pretty red, also think looks flattering on everyone.

Next two pics are in the shade M511 “Auburn”.  This is a brick red, and as you can see, it’s much darker than the first two reds.  This is a much more “mature” red and it’s very natural and a great starting red if you don’t want to wear a red that’s too bright, if you’re not quite comfortable with that.  It’s a great red to wear in the office because again, not too bright.

The next two pics are in the shade M145 “Red Lantern”.  It’s a scarlet red, but it has a bit more of an orange undertone to it.  Like, a bright red orange.  A really pretty color but definitely not something to be paired with this shade of green.  I think if you used like orange eyeshadow, or did an orange eyeshadow look using like Urban Decay’s “Heat” Palette, it would look very pretty.  I might try that and see how I like it, because I think it’ll look really pretty.

Last two pics are in the shade M219 “Apricot”.  This is a reddish-brown and in the light it looks like it’s red-orange, but I’d say it’s more of like a burnt orange, deep red-orange color.  It’s very pretty and again, I think pairing it with an orange eyeshadow look would make it really pop. 

These are all matte and transfer-proof (like these motherfuckers do not move, you can eat and drink with these and not worry about it coming off).  Also, while most liquid lipsticks feel very drying, these are not.  These feel like you’re not wearing anything on your lips. 

These are also $29 dollars each and they come in a variety of shade ranges.  They did change their packaging so if you remember the ornately packaged lipsticks with the gold like embellishments on the tube, they took that away and now it’s very sleek and rather elegant looking.  Both versions are very pretty and I think it’s worth your money.  They’re about the same price, if not a little bit cheaper than some of the more “high-end” lipsticks you’d get at sephora but honestly, I prefer these lipsticks.  They are shipped from china but you get them within a week to week and a half of purchase and again, very worth your money

So that’s why I’m going to borrow the words of famous writers and poets to try to express my love for you, even though I know words aren’t enough to do so.

Today marks the day that you were brought to this world, a day in which the colors are more vibrant, the birds sing a little more and the sun hides because you outshine it.

Today I will give you 27 gifts, 26 to commemorate each year you have walked this earth, and 1 to celebrate the year you have shared with me (the first of many, I pray).

Today, I borrow the words of Kafka “in a way, you are poetry material; you are full of cloudy subtleties I am willing to spend a lifetime figuring out.”

The first gift is a Rothschild Slipper orchid, one of the most expensive and exotic orchids in the world. I still remember the afternoon where your parents told me about your birth, that you were born death and the doctors had to bring you back to life, how complicated it was and that you spent your first month of life in hospital. I’m glad that baby you was so stubborn and fought.

The second gift is a vintage cigarette holder. Because your soul feels like an old one, one that has seen and felt and cried a lot, and still maintains the kindness and naiveness of a young one. Your existence is an exquisite mix of contradictions, like a very aesthetic artifact that was originally designed for a purpose, but a dark skinned Latina woman that loves to cook while listen ballenato would stare at and wish that she could put those incredible gorgeous Florasis lipsticks (I also pray for the day that they become cruelty free baby).

The third gift is a reversible sapphire white 14K gold ring, just because as soon as I saw it I thought of you wearing and it was meant to be (don’t worry baby, that engagement ring is in the making).

The fourth gift is a rain cloud diffusor, I knew you have wanted one for months, but haven’t got it because you forgot, or you would rather buy something for someone else (because you are selfless like that).

At 5, you fell in love with what is still today your favorite animal: whales. I still remember the way your face got warm when you told me that at 5 you believed whales could come out of anywhere that had water, including rivers or puddles, so it’s only natural that your fifth gift it’s related to them. One of my most precious memories it’s almost frizzing myself to death in Alaska just to see whales doing their dance to eat, or as you would call it “the coolest breathtaking and most beautiful method” , I remember all the times you explained to me how whales do the bubble net fishing method, how they work like an orchestra, with the trumpeters, that swim deep and release air to form bubbles and group the shoal, then the one that call the rest so they can go to the surface and eat, while also singing to confuse the fishes, seeing you get excited hearing their songs, the way your eyes illuminated when they appeared right next to our boat, your tears of happiness because you couldn’t believe what you just witnessed warmed me up better than any jacket could.   And even that freezing winter in Alaska it was warmer than the ones I spent without you by my side.
