since coronavirus is going around and is super contagious we should make it normal to wear flu masks in public, especially in schools and public transport.
i don’t want to get sick just because flu masks are “in poor taste if you aren’t sick” or “not aesthetically pleasing.”
i don’t want to get sick because you decided that coughing in public without covering your mouth is socially acceptable.
i don’t want to get sick because society has deemed it acceptable to go out in public when you have a contagious pathogen.
i don’t want to get sick because YOU decided not to wear a flu mask, not to get vaccinated, and not cover your mouth when you cough.
wear a flu mask to protect yourself and protect the public. do your part to stop coronavirus in its tracks.

American Media: “Face masks don’t help stop the spread of any diseases. It’s just a stupid mass panic myth that makes it harder for doctors to find the masks when they need them. Don’t buy into the hype, and don’t wear the masks.”
Korean doctors: “If you walk into my office without a mask, I’m kicking you out.”
Right, so... Korea’s got one of the best healthcare systems in the world. The Korean doctors don’t even care if it’s a “surgical” mask. Even a scarf, or a cute printed cotton one you got from the dollar store, is better than nothing.
Now, if only I could find one that doesn't give me panic attacks to press over my damned face.

“How To Make Influenza Mask,” Edmonton Bulletin. October 21, 1918. Page 03. --- A mask is the most efficient safeguard against influenza. It can be made quite easily as follows, according to directions issued by Dr. H. C. Jamieson of the provincial health department: Take a piece of cheese cloth 16 inches long by 8 inches wide. Fold this over, making a piece 8 inches by 8 inches; fold this again making a piece 4 inches by 8 inches. Tie a piece of tape at the four corners, or sew a piece right across the top and bottom leaving long ends to tie and apply as in the picture.
Roll the mask when in use every day very thoroughly for about an hour.

I'm getting a very lovely pedicure with foot massage from a nice women wearing a flu mask (they do that sometimes in nail places) and she just did a hard quick double sneeze with it on. Didn't even pause except to turn her head slightly and now I'm like..... 😵😵

y’all really going “how could we let this happen” as if it’s any surprise that blaming us for a global pandemic caused a spike in acts of anti asian racism
