✧ calculates figures for the lounge to calm his restless heart after he's talked to you

✧ holds riveting, one-sided conversations with his fungi in the botanical garden to practice various lines he wishes to say to you

✧ practices expressions in the mirror because he worries he has what some might call a "soulless stare" and so he wants to be able to look more friendly for you so you might be inclined to approach him more

✧ looks for recipes he thinks you'd favor and works hard learning them

✧ checks, double-checks, and triple-checks his appearance before he leaves his room because there's a chance you may see him and he cannot be caught looking sloppy or silly if he wants to impress you

✧ though he's learned about the fascinating thing known as yawning, he still gets flustered each time you're in his proximity and you yawn

✧ he enjoys puns, so if you tell him a silly pun he'll be thinking about it for days and he may or may not have to catch himself before he cracks a chuckle in the middle of class (he shares it with floyd, but floyd never understands why it's so funny)

✧ he wants to invite you to a nature hike, but he doesn't know how and for once social customs are lost on him :( floyd becomes his wingman, by which he yells across the crowded, noisy cafeteria: "SHRIMPY, JADE WANTS TO TAKE YA OUT!!!!!!" all with the biggest grin, but everyone pities you because oh dear he's going to kill you now >_< (jade understands the appeal of the octopus pot after that mildly humorous, albeit mortifying incident)

✧ his smiles reach his eyes when he's around you

hi! i sent an anon ask like months and month ago about pens for disco elysium characters and seeing that you got into bg3 i thought i would share my astarion pen ideas! the main one i can think of is a monteverde invincia in stealth black with a omniflex nib, filled with noodler's antietam ink. my super pricey option is one of the pilot vanishing points in matte black or burgundy

ouuu nice pen ideas!!! i definitely think astarion would go for a really pricey pen. the vanishing point really works for him! since he was a magistrate - it's the perfect "oh ive got a fancy job that involves a lot of writing" pen. (if it wasn't the case that he'd probably actually care how a pen writes considering his old job, i bet he'd even have one thats got shit quality control but is a pricey rich person brand... like a visconti. well known for being ~beautiful paperweights~ here are the visconti divina and visconti homo sapiens inferno)

while i can't support noodler's with any confidence, i can make some other ink suggestions! i can totally see him using some super extra fancy blood colour ink - i think diamine has good options in that direction like dragon's blood and writer's blood >:) plus the bottles are pretty and very much suit him. the dragon one has SHIMMER!
