Hi there! I’ve noticed you a lot around Aph Mongolia posts, so I wanted to ask you some questions! First, as a foreigner, what you made you so interested in this character? Second, could you go into who you ship him with and why? It’s nice to see people still actively talking about my boy, so I was hoping to engage a bit!

Hi! :D Thank you for the ask! Well, I guess I've been interested in Mongolian culture/history for a few years now, it first peaked my interest when I was around 13? So its been 6, almost 7 years of being obsessed haha. I really love reading and learning about Mongolian history and culture, I even really like Mongolian music too and listen to it along with all of my other songs on my playlist! I first got into hetalia when I was 12, and so my love for hetalia and love for Mongolia kind of collided and well here I am all these years later still posting about it lol!

Over the years my hcs of Mongolia as a character has changed as I've read more about Mongolian history/culture but also influenced from what other people post about him so there are things from old accounts I may have posted in the past which I don't agree with now but. I honestly think Mongolia as a character would be so damn interesting? Considering his past and current way of living, and how he got to where he is now. Like there's so much history there to work with, not even just when he had an empire, but before that and after that too. Even who his predecessors could have been/were is so interesting to me. He himself really influenced a lot of other nations histories also. His relationships, with other nations too is so interesting to think about!!

Japan x Mongolia - I think the history between them is kind of funny tbh 😭 plus nowadays both countries are on good terms with each other! Both have similar kind of interests, with Japans national sport being Sumo and Mongolias is bukh, also I think Mongolians dominating Sumo is hilarious I'm sorry. I have a bit of a raunchy reason for shipping them too but I'm not sure of what your age is so I'm not sure if I should answer that for you!

Vietnam x Mongolia - lol she beat his ass 😍 I think he kind of respects her for that tho. but I think this would be a power couple tbh like I can see them both just standing next to each other with resting bitch faces 😭

Ok this one is controversial asf LMAO its China x Mongolia ☠️ I don't personally see it as a healthy "ship" though like. At its best I like imagining them as two old men bickering with each other but like unlike the other ships which have a lot of potential to be healthy this one, no not really when you look at the history and current politics. I mean you're Mongolian of course you know this haha. I'm a little hesitant to put out Monchu content for this reason even tho like. I recently wrote a one-shot lol. For me when I'm being serious about the ship and not viewing it in the usual light-hearted hetalia lense, it would be like a tragic/complicated/unhealthy/emotionally taxing/toxic "relationship". I have a post planned in which I try to explain it but I'm very hesitant to even post it.

This one seems so random hahaha but Philippines x Mongolia because I was curious and looked up Philippines-Mongolia relations and like. It was quite short but there was a small painting of a Mongolian couple who visited the Philippines in the 17th century in there? And they were in furs and all and considering the heat and humidity of the Philippines 😨 So I find it funny just. Thinking about him going there on a whim or something because screw it why not and being unprepared for the humidity and aph Philippines being like bro what is wrong with you 😭 Also I think him calling aph Mongolia Mango-lia is cute jdsjdjaj. This is more of a fun, random one.

20: “please don’t hurt me like this” 

my love, take care of yourself 

It was difficult. Painstakingly difficult as Ben opened up his heart whilst breaking Callum’s to shreds, as if he had reached into Callum’s chest and grabbed his beating heart with bare hands before tearing it apart in front of him. 

Callum sat with tears streaming down his face, eyes and lips swollen and puffy and red, having been crying for what seemed like hours now. He knew it was coming. He knew that Ben would break him. Everyone said it. 

You’re too good for him, y’know?

He’ll break you.

He’s Ben Mitchell – you can’t change him.

Ben sat next to Callum, perched at an angle, their knees knocked together. In any other situation, it would be comfortable, a constant reminder that they were still there, together, in spite of everything that had been thrown in their direction. He reached out, fingers only just skimming Callum’s shaky hand, before he pulled it into his body, recoiling from Ben’s touch. 

“Don’t.” He gasped out, his voice full of hurt and anguish and a lump in his throat aching to unleash a new wave of fresh tears. “Don’t touch me.” 

“I’m sorry.” Ben muttered out, his brain doing overtime trying to work out ways that he could say things. Things that would shattered Callum regardless. “Cal. I love you. I love you so much, but I’m going to ruin you because everything I love always gets ruined. And I can’t watch you get ruined. I would never forgive myself.” His voice cracked as tears bubbled up in his eyes, mere seconds before he harshly rubbed them away as if they were nothing. 

Callum’s head fell, the floor suddenly much more interesting as he couldn’t find the energy to keep it upright. He ached all over. Like he had just lost part of himself – and in many ways he supposed he had. “Please don’t hurt me like this.” He pleaded, tear droplets falling from his eyes, staining his jeans a darker shade of blue. “Please, Ben.” 

Ben sniffed, shaking his head before standing up. “I’m sorry.” He whispered, voice low, in an attempt to disguise the crack in his voice. He leaned down, pressed a final kiss to Callum’s cheek, tears transferring from his skin to Callum’s as he breathed him in, almost whimpering when he realised that Callum was wearing his cologne. He opened his eyes, looking away from Callum almost instantly, his own heart shattering as he witnessed Callum press his fingers to his cheek, savouring the last remnants of Ben on his body. 

The air was cold, the atmosphere silent, bar a few sniffs as they wished away their tears. Ben, with no looking back, walked through the door onto the square, walking out of Callum’s life, forever.

How about hc's for a criminal ben x undercover cop Callum au??

it all starts with a well deserved night off, and night out, for callum. he gets all dressed up, doses himself in aftershave and drags stuart for a night out. the night goes well, very well, actually, considering he ends up back at some lads house, his brother long gone. the lad his hot, his names ben and that’s all callum really knows about him - well that and what the inside of his mouth tastes like (bitter coffee and peppermint). in the days after, callum can’t stop thinking about seeing ben again, he plays out each and every possible scenario in his head. none of them involve him slapping a pair of handcuffs on ben, though. 

there’d been a lot of car stealing going on in the heart of london recently, and it wasn’t exactly the most notorious crime callum had ever dealt with, but when his own bloody car had become a victim, he’d put himself on the case. it takes longer than anyone expected, and its obvious that whoever is behind the crimes, is somewhat a professional. it’s the fifth week on the case when something finally gives. 

they’re racing through town, callum and his partner, pc pearce, swerving through each street as they get that little bit closer to the scum in callum’s nicked car. finally, they get close enough for callum to aim his gun, shooting once, twice, at the back wheels and the car comes to an abrupt stop. the criminal in questions starts running, as predicted, so callum takes off after them. “hey!” callum shouts, running for what feels like an age, his legs are going to fall off, he’s sure of it.

in the end, the suspect tires out, his stride slowing until he’s barely managing a jog, and callum takes to opportunity to pounce, forcing his body to push through the exertion so he can get there faster. he gets his hands around the man's shoulders, topples them both to the ground and gets the man’s arms behind his back, which he does, eventually, despite how hard he struggles and kicks up a fuss. “knicking an officers car? not a smart move, mate.” 

the man struggles under callum’s hold, but eventually, callum takes pity on him, and helps the handcuffed man to his feet. its the moment, the one they first come face to face, that callum nearly falls back to the ground. oh you’ve got to kidding- what the hell have you been playing at? is all callum can say, there’s no room in his head for the legalities. alright officer, you kept that one quiet, didn’t you? eventually, pc pearce makes her way back over, urges callum to get things moving. the journey back to the station is awkward, to say the least, and ben barely shuts up teasing callum for one second. callum sort of hates throwing him in a cell, but he can’t exactly not, can he?

callum sticks to the case, despite the voice in his head telling him it’s a terrible idea, and it seems the twist and turns don’t end there. they have the evidence they need to charge ben, but callum has this niggling feeling that not everything is at it seems, so he keeps digging, despite the warnings from his sarge. another name comes up, danny hardcaste - a bully, and a blackmailer, it seems. when callum questions ben’s knowledge of this man during an interview, he sees a side to ben he wasn’t sure even existed, he’s visibly scared, and callum’s seen this all before. he knows exactly what been going on here. he vows to help ben, vows to drop the charges against him and keep his safe from the likes of hardcastle - who will soon be all too familiar with the inside of a prison cell very soon. and if they fall in love along the way, well that’s nobodies business.

Actually they don't really feel bad when the French left in 1814, and don't be surprise if they attended celebration events for the Habsburgs right after. But eventually these two would recognize the importance of this short period as the the further growth of national consciousness in later periods of the 19th century.

Following the Napoleonic Wars, in 1809 the French Empire ceded territory along the Dalmatian coast and established Illyrian Provinces (contained contemporary Slovenia, Croatia and some parts of Austria), named after the Roman province of Illyricum with Laibach/Ljubljana as the capital. The main purpose was to cut off Austria’s access to Italy and the Mediterranean Sea and but also tighten the blockade to against British Empire. The Napoleonic Code was introduced, roads and schools were constructed, local citizens were given administrative posts and native languages were used to conduct official business. The French rule was short-lived, Austria declared war on France and their troops invaded Illyria in 1813 and retook in 1814.

On the one hand the reforms were not that successful and didn’t gain much popularity from local people since the high tax and they didn't like being conscripted into the French army and such. On the other hand the French rule was gratitude by the intellectuals and did contributed to their nationalist movements. Since the late 18th century under the influence of the Enlightenment, Slovene intellectuals published works about language, culture, art and ect, thus the term Slovene Enlightenment. Kingdom of Illyria (without Croatia and Dalmatia) established as a crown land of the Austrian Empire in 1816, the capital was Laibach/Ljubljana.

Few decades later, the Illyrian Movement from 1830s to 1840s occurred in Croatia,  not only Croatian language got the standard orthography (devised by Ljudevit Gaj) during this time but the movement itself was also embraced all South Slavs. Illyrian Provinces was the first time South Slavs were united outside the Habsburgs or the Ottomans.  Slovene intellectuals, however choose to not associate with this movement. Later in 1840s the Slovene alphabet still in use today that was based on Gaj's was standardized.

Note: It should be mentioned that, the lands that comprised contemporary Croatia and Slovenia were not under single political units during the early 19th century. Slovene were the vast majority of Carniola, much lesser in Gorizia then minor in Styria, Carinthia and Istria. All of these regions expect Carniola are divided in different countries now. The term and the idea of an united Slovenia was mentioned first in 1840s. Croatia and Slavonia were under the crown of St. Stephen of Hungary, Dalmatia and the Military Frontier was under the direct administration of Vienna.

i’m feeling good!!! i’m just glad we’re getting some forward progression tbh, the entire thing felt a little stagnated since christmas day (the only plot that felt like it was actually moving forward in regards to everyone involved w mitchell stuff was the linda plot w just hints of ben’s breakdown thrown in) so altho it’s not a spoiler i’m glad we’re seeing louise struggling now, as well as ben (and denny lowkey -phil does not seem at all bothered by any of it, the bastard) and we know that this is going Somewhere. and just the thought of callum coming back to walford and going straight to ben and trying to get their relationship back on track…. i’m crying already he clearly wants to be with ben SO BAD but ben is struggling sm and it’s KILLING ME

in regards to the ben and callum stuff, it sounds So Good tbh and i’m excited!!! ben being the petty jealous bitch he is and sabotaging what he thinks is a date!!!! but then being conflicted abt being jealous bc he can’t help it bc he loves callum and never would have broken up w him if it wasn’t for the phil/sharon/keanu stuff but he also is struggling w the guilt of what he’s done and knows (or thinks he knows) that they’re better off apart n that callum is better off w someone else…. but he still loves him… but he feels like he can’t be with him…. but he doesn’t want him with anyone else….. god it’s going to be so fuckin good im excited

as for the confession, we were just talking abt this!!! idk what specifically ur referring to, but personally i doubt we’ll get an ily, but i think we might get him confessing something abt keanu. or smth that he’s done. like not a full blown confession, but i can see him admitting something to callum as kind of a ‘this is what kind of person i am, this is what i’m capable of, how can you want to be with me’ kinda thing. like the juxtaposition of ben ruining callum’s date bc he can’t bear the thought of callum being w anyone else and then immediately pushing callum away bc he thinks they can’t be together…… chefs kiss

A NewMaine prompt in honor of the end of Halloween: Maine and New Hampshire having to deal with their sugared up siblings and cleaning after Halloween is finally over

Issa drabble because I still don’t know where I’m taking the other story I’m working on

NH sighed as he lifted Concord over his caped shoulder. The boy had gone beyond ‘sugar rush’ and had already gotten sick four times before passing out. Halloween was an interesting time for New England every year and he swore the cities made bets on who could end up in the worst state by the end of the night. This year seemed to be the worst, with Concord getting as sick as he did, Augusta going missing for 2 hours only to pop up drunk with candy corn vodka, and Boston trying to throw herself into the harbor, but he knew they’d do even worse next year.

Maine stood nearby, watching her own brothers act like idiots. NH always loved her simple costumes, though he knew a lot of them were specifically chosen to piss off Mass. This year’s was a witch, though she abandoned the hat early on. He himself was dressed as a vampire, though he refused to wear the fangs. He moved beside her, turning his attention to the pair of brothers before him.

“We raised some kind of idiots, huh.” He chuckled, glancing over at her comment.

“Yes. Yes, we did.” They stood quietly, waiting for the two to calm down a bit more. “Should we help Mass clean up his house?” She snorted, shaking her head.

“He can do it. His fault for agreeing to have a party here. He knows what we’re like.”

“True. Well, I better get Concord home before he wakes up. He’s going to hate himself tomorrow, I can tell.”

“Yeah, same with these two.” She glanced at him for a moment before leaning up and giving him a peck on the cheek. “Good luck.” She smirked at his red face, moving towards her brothers. NH carefully touched the spot she kissed, giving her a nod. By God, he loved that girl.

thank you!!! and thank you for enjoying my ‘content’ (calling what i do content seems disrespectful to the people who do create actual quality content lmao), i’m glad!! i’m not exactly sure what you mean by prompt, but i can certainly talk abt my opinions on it all a little bit!!

from the spoilers, i believe we’ll actually get the answer to these questions in the coming weeks! i won’t go into detail in case you don’t want spoilers, but all i will say is that we’re going to see phil’s reaction to ben’s choice sooner rather than later.

as for my take on it, i think ben’s relationship with crime is kind of a complicated thing tbh. as much as i love dark ben, i don’t think those cruel, manipulative parts of him were ever just like... a part of his nature. they’re like.... adaptations, because of the things that have happened to him during his life and because of who his family are and who his dad is. i don’t think a life of crime - no matter how serious or petty the crimes in question were - would have ever been on the cards for ben had his dad not been phil mitchell. like he was a quiet, shy kid who liked musicals. not exactly criminal material, is it?

but then he moves back in with his dad when kathy ‘dies’ and sees how much of a ‘man’s man’ phil is and is not too young to realize that phil doesn’t really know what to make of him and then you combine that with stella’s abuse and manipulation (telling ben - a 10 year old child - that he was weak and pathetic and that his dad thought he was weak and pathetic too because ben wasn’t like him and that phil is the Epitome of what a Man Should Be, and that he has to be like his dad or else he will be weak and pathetic forever) and him realizing he’s gay (i don’t need to explain why this was a fucking nightmare for phil mitchell’s son, do i?), and him changing and becoming bitter and cruel and acting out makes sense. not only was he essentially manipulated into it, but it was a survival tactic on so many levels. plus he was a little boy, and he wanted his dad’s love and approval and attention! that’s normal! that’s understandable! but the sad reality is ben’s dad is phil mitchell, and basically the only way he could get any of those things was by acting out and doing bad things which undoubtedly reinforced the idea in his head that if he does bad things and hurts people then his dad would love and respect him more, and then the older and more confident and more desperate for his dad’s love and attention he got (not to mention the fact that he probably felt the need to ‘make up’ for the fact he was gay), the worse the things he was doing would get. and eventually this way of thinking changed from ‘if i act this way, my dad will love me’ to ‘if i act this way, people will respect me’, and then eventually it became less of an act and more an uncontrollable part of his character. but really, he really stood no chance at all in that house. he was bound to get fucked up to a certain degree, just growing up and seeing what his dad was like.

and now he’s an adult, and he really was not lying when he said he doesn’t know anything else. what the audience need to understand is that the way ben views things - himself, his relationships with others, how to create and maintain healthy relationships with others, how to treat other people etc - is fucked up! it’s warped! and it’s warped mostly because of his dad!! and i think ben is at a point in his life now where he can recognize these things (to a degree - although that’s much better than not bein able to recognize it at all - and imo ever since he first come back this has improved a lot) and can recognize that most roads lead back to phil, but he’s also not necessarily able to change those things. he’s trying, that much is obvious, but this is years and years of ingrained abuse and trauma and learned behaviour!! he can’t just get over that, especially not alone!! he needs help! and were it up to me, he’d be getting professional help!!! which is why i think callum has been so naive about this whole ‘just stop doing illegal things!’ thing he has going on - not only in the sense that you can’t just go ‘oh i’m on the straight and narrow now’ and have there not be any repercussions, but because this is years and years of ben’s life that he’s having to basically give up (ok you could argue that it’s not much to give up, but that’s not the point, and that doesn’t make it any easier), and also because imo ben’s relationship with crime is directly linked to his trauma and directly linked to his relationship with his dad. the only time his dad wants anything to so with him or shows him any kind of respect is still when ben’s doing jobs for him, p much. to a certain degree, ben’s ability to do dodgy shit determines his self worth because it has always determined how his dad sees him, and how his dad has seen him has determined how ben sees himself imo (again, not entirely, but to a certain degree). plus it’s a respect thing. he’s talked about his reputation before, and if he has a reputation then he has respect and ben wants respect, that much is clear. and i think that’s to make up for the fact he rarely got that respect when he was growing up, you know?

(plus, just my personal opinion, but i still think there’s a part of him that feels the need to ‘make up’ for the fact that he’s gay in his dad’s eyes. i think he’s come a long way (esp when you look at harry’s ben vs max’s ben) and i don’t necessarily think he’s ashamed of or sorry for who he is anymore, but judging by his actions i do think there’s still a part of him that’s like ‘well i couldn’t be the son he wanted in that respect, but i can be the son he wanted in this respect’, does that make sense? like a ‘i know he doesn’t like me being gay, so the least i can give him is this’ kind of thing, mixed in with the ‘this is the only way i can get my dad’s respect, this is the only way i can make him love me’ thing.)

basically: imo ben’s desire to do these illegal, criminal things is not as much to do with him liking doing them or wanting the money or anything like that, but it’s more bc in his head that kind of behaviour is linked to his relationship with his dad and his trauma and how he views himself. and despite his best efforts, ben was never gonna be able to just walk away from it all and have that be that, you know? because it’s not that simple.

as for phil’s reaction, it’s gonna go exactly how you expect it to go: badly. there’ll probably be some manipulation (i see something along the lines of ‘what, you’re gonna fuck over your own dad for someone you’ve been seeing for five minutes?’ being said) to get ben back on side. probably some dramatic shit about ‘ruining the family legacy’ or smth. he’ll probably make fun of ben similarly to how jay did but in a much less jovial, ‘i’m only teasing’ way. probably say some shit about callum. i see ben putting up a fight and defending himself (and callum) at first, but phil can wear ben down like no one else and will having him doubting himself in record time. phil will probably say some shit like ‘you gonna let callum tell you what to do, are ya? he says jump and you say how high, is that it?’ and that will absolutely press ben’s buttons and he’ll be desperate to prove that that’s not the case and phil will have manipulated him back onside, just like that. like it’s that easy. which it is really, bc despite what he says ben still wants his dad’s love and approval more than anything.

it’s gonna be horrible, basically. ben’s gonna be caught between a rock and hard place, not knowing what to do or who to listen to. he’s going to be so conflicted between not wanting to fuck up his relationship with callum (bc he clearly cares about callum A Lot) and keeping callum happy and allowing him to do what he wants to do and also trying to keep his dad happy and not fall out with him bc like i said, despite what he says ben still wants his dad’s love and approval more than anything and it would crush him to be cast out by him again after everything that’s happened, esp after they seem to have been getting along so well. so i think he’s going to struggle a lot over the next few weeks, trying to decide what to do. bc u know... despite him adoring callum and wanting their relationship to work and ben taking steps to make that happen, it’s been clear that he hasn’t exactly been over the moon abt going legit. (callum definitely didn’t force him, but after it was clear callum wasn’t changing his mind, ben obviously felt like the only options were him going legit and them breaking up, and after realizing he didn’t want to lose callum, he was only left with one option. so it wasn’t really a choice for him, was it?) and phil has a hold over him like no one else does, so who knows how this is all going to play out. like ben being on the straight and narrow isn’t going to last long - at least right now - but beyond that? callum’s reaction? the long term? who knows!! not me!!

but yh it just sucks bc you know ben has a Struggle coming and it’s gonna be horrible to watch bc no one deserves to be happy more than ben :-(
