"Dance The Night" fun facts: yes, 00:50 is exactly why I made this, lol! (Though the entire thing ended up being one of the most fun times I've had making a vid! 🥳) Also, most of this wasn't recorded in order to gather vid footage - I was trying out outfit and armor colors to see what they looked like in-game. Hence, the Ryder twins put on a bit of a fashion show here! 😛 Oh, and I was also trying out a new inspired-by-me Sara, which is why she doesn't look like the Sara I've shown previously in my other vid and in GIFs. 😉 Bonus for my Flash friends - if you watch this, see if you spot Scott in his Reverse Flash inspired armor! 💛💖 (The lighting was a little poor in the scene, though, so let me know if you need a timestamp. 😉)
10. The Tenth Doctor x Donna Noble (Doctor Who)

Update, okay, so I decided to come back and do the tagging properly so to absolve my guilt at failing that part, lol!

Figured I’d talk about Romero’s family a bit. I’m currently writing something regarding them as well.
All of Romero’s living relatives are from his mother’s side (well except for his father but I’ll explain that later)
Possible tw for mentions of death, and drinking
The matriarch of the family is his grandmother, Lyra. She’s the kind but sassy grandma who encourages the wacky hijinks. This lady is old. Very old. She and Scarlett, Romero’s mentor and godmother, are very good friends. I just like the thought of them being old ladies together. Romero respects her greatly. She’s very kind and will welcome almost anyone into the family. Think of her like Mama Odie from the Princess and the Frog I suppose. That’s a good description of her personality. She is also very good at making desserts.
Then there’s his aunt Meridian Dixon. A friendly woman with her signature southern accent. Meridian is his mother, Cassiopeia’s sister. She has dark blonde, almost brown hair, the same blue eyes as Romero, and wears a lot of outfits covered in flour or dirt. Meridian isn’t her birth name but she’ll never tell you. Dallas calls her Southern Mary Poppins and you'll eventually find out why. She clearly got her kindness from Lyra. She’s the sweetest. A very motherly figure to most people. A lot of people who aren’t even related to her call her Aunt Mer. She also makes the best food. You name it, she’ll make it. She can be tough though. She’s scared people before when she gets angry, it doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s better to just apologize and give her some space. She can be very stubborn at times, one might even say bull-headed. She is known for taking care of anyone in need, which is how she ended up taking care of the twins. However, there is only one person she hates: Corvus, Romero’s father. Though Cassiopeia is also horrible, she could never hate her sister. She blames Corvus for making her awful and for hurting Romero. She dealt with him though. She cares for Romero and loves him like her own son. She is very strong, and would do anything for her kids. Speaking of…
Her eldest son is Spencer who is currently 18. He takes after his late father. With the same light brown hair, the blue eyes that run in the family, and his cowboy attire. He’s a good guy, very dedicated to his family. He took up the roll of being the second parent after his father passed. He is used to protecting his siblings and cousins. He is very much a leader, though he can come off as a bit bossy. He doesn’t like his emotions to affect his decisions and tends to bottle things up, focusing on his family more. He, Dallas and Romero liked to wrestle a lot when they were younger. As all of them are pretty strong, it’s an even match. He is good with a gun but even better with a shovel. I like to joke about him fighting people with shovels. He does a lot of the chores around the ranch. Very yeehaw. He is an easily suspicious person, always alert. He is kind though, and will try to cheer up his friends or siblings. He also protects them from the monsters residing in the forest close to their property. He is also very stubborn.
Next is his 14 year old sister Harper. Similar hair as her mother, freckles over her face and arms like her father, and a bright smile. She dresses a little nicer but still comes home with a scraped knee or grass stains on her dress. She enjoys spending time with the animals. Her chores consist mostly of caring for them as they seem to favor her. She often goes exploring, climbing trees or collecting bugs. She’s the type who comes home with a spider and asks to keep it as a pet. She is deathly scared of monsters though. She tends to be a trouble maker, causing mischief or disturbing neighbors. She also likes to prank people with her pet bugs. She’s a sweetheart though. Very curious about things and looks up to Romero and Spencer. She brags about how cool her brother and cousin are.
Artemis is Meridian’s adopted daughter. She stands out among her family because of her black hair with a strand of white, her skin paler, and also the various animal traits she had. She is the offspring of a shapeshifting demon and a deer hybrid. She inherited her father's ability to change her form. Her behavior can sometimes be a little more animalistic, if that makes sense. She has a monstrous appetite and sharper teeth. She sometimes switches out the features, but she usually favors her antenna and the dragonfly wings. She has blue eyes with cat like pupils that she cannot get rid of. She does try to make her features look more like her new family. She’s usually a nervous gal, but as time passes, she develops a sarcastic personality and becomes very work oriented, owning a small potions shop.
Then there’s the twins. Meridian found them when they first arrived in Lazuli. She took them in and raised them basically. They refer to her as . Spencer and Harper became family to them as well, the bunch of kids enjoy messing around. I know I’ve talked about them a bit but I’ll give a better description here.
Dallas is older by a few seconds. He and Flynn are identical twins. He and his sister share the same dark brown hair and red eyes. Dallas usually forgets to do anything with his hair, leaving it messy and often falling into his face as he moves around a lot. Both twins resemble their mother with the same rich, tan skin and eyes that always seem tired. He has all sorts of scars around his body, varying from monster attacks to stab wounds. He's trans masc and has a lot of support from his family and friends. He tends to be a bit fidgety, and often hums when he works on something. Dallas has a bit of a temper, especially when it comes to rude people, as he's dealt with plenty of bullies. Before he came to Lazuli, he got in fights a lot with older kids who made fun of him or his sister. He is known for having enhanced strength and a resistance to heat. ) He has a need to be helpful or wanted. That's why he basically becomes a hero. He wants to help people and have them love him. He puts other above himself every time to be the parent he wished he had. He's lost so many people he cared about, so he willingly puts himself in constant danger to protect who he has left and not lose anyone else. He puts all blame on himself when things happen because he considers this being responsible. Doing everything in his power to make people happy or safe. He craves validation because he hardly got it before he arrived in Lazuli. Traumatized little guy. I'll get into his family more in another post. He's a friendly guy and very popular. He loves music and actually wanted to be in a band as a kid. Dallas loves to sing. That's it. He works as a monster hunter with Spencer and a few other friends. Romero also worked with them at one point. He also loves to cook, and often helps Meridian in the kitchen. He's always on the verge of a breakdown and can become incredibly stressed.
Flynn Curtis is very different from her brother. While her physical appearance is almost the same, her personality is nothing like his. She’s more on the quiet side, and a very fast learner. She is caring but can be perceived as the mean twin for her brutal honesty and sarcasm. She is very passionate though, with a love for inventing, sweets and history. She is also a bit of a pyromaniac, explosives are her preferred method of attack. While she is usually alert, she is easy to manipulate. Though she will deny it, she gets very jealous of her brother for all the attention he receives. As a kid, she was often talked over an ignored. So much so that for a time, she stopped talking altogether. But with help from Meridian and her new found family, she has come out of her shell. She is a very ambitious person who does whatever she wants.
Moving on, Scarlett Kingston is Romero’s godmother and mentor as previously mentioned. She is fairly old, her death occurring in the 40s, but remains young looking to lure people in. She was at one point human, but she was greedy, which led to her being killed. She is now the embodiment of greed and practically runs the small district of Fortune with her casino and bar. Again, doesn’t quite fit the fantasy vibe, but it’s all a bit mismatched at the moment. She helps Romero with his magic, teaching him different spells from his book and whatnot. She helped raise him and views him as her son. While Fortune remains neutral in the ongoing battle between Atlas (Romero’s district) and Nightshade, Scarlett tends to assist Romero with information or supplies, in return he owes her favors. Usually he repays his debt by working shifts at the bar. Fun fact, that’s where he worked growing up.
And last but certainly not least, we have Grace Greyson, though she prefers to just go by Grey. She is a spirit who was once a human, brought to Opal by Scarlett and offered a job as a bartender. She has black hair and grey eyes. A very cool lesbian. She speaks fluent Russian. When she was a young adult, her family caused her to run away from home, leading to her death. (If you read Midnight Train, you know what I mean) Grey is Romero’s adopted mother. She raised him as a kid and he views her more as his mother than his actual mother. She had found him, wandering the street scared out of his mind. Somehow, he mistook her for his mother and clung to her. After some encouragement from Scarlett, Grey reluctantly takes him home and decides to care for him. She grew attached over time and began to refer to him as her son. She took him to work with her often, he remained in the back of the bar or seated at a table with a book while she worked. He became well acquainted with the regulars, and they became family friends. Grey did a lot of research on how to care for crows to make sure she was doing everything right. She is a little more pessimistic but ultimately a caring person. She teaches Dallas and Romero to fight as she is skilled with swords. She has a bit of a smoking habit and tends to drink though she cannot get fully drunk.
So now that I've established this whole wacky family, I want to paint a picture for you. Imagine Romero is taking you to meet his family. You're expecting rude, snobby people, another castle, or something of the sort. Instead, he takes you to a small town in Nightshade. It looks like something out of an old western movie. The ranch has elements of constellations in the decor, the house crest is a bull whose horns are adorned with stars. The property is fairly large and you can see where the forest suddenly cuts off the old western town, leading into untold horrors. You can hear noise from inside the house, it sounds like a party. There's people laughing, music, and faint crashes every now and again. The door opens and reveals a smiling woman with a very noticeable southern drawl as she welcomes you in, already asking a million questions about you, where you met Romero and what you like to eat. Once inside, you can see a large group of people, teenagers messing around and flinging food at each other, the younger kids feeding a lizard, the adults laughing and talking about something with drinks in their hands and a very old woman who would join in every once in a while. It felt very much like a family reunion. You felt at ease with these people and within minutes, you had become a member of the family and it seemed you have known them all your life. Grey and Scarlett stand out among the blue eyes and southern accents but treat Romero just the same. Grey scolds him in a lighthearted tone that he doesn't visit enough. The conversation soon switched to Russian to prevent others from understanding them. Dallas was taking song requests on his guitar, Peyton had brought out dessert and Harper was introducing you to her newest pet. The family had brought out the pictures of younger Romero, in attempts to embarrass him. Even still, it was the happiest and most relaxed he has been in a while. These people really seemed to bring out the best in him. There was an odd tension between him and Dallas though. By the time you had decided to leave, you were carrying leftovers that Peyton insisted you take, Lyra now called you her grandchild and the twins had somehow convinced you to go monster hunting with them. It was nice though. It was nice to see Romero relaxed for once.
Woo that was longer than I planned but I do like giving more information on my characters. I have left out details or other information because I tend to discuss or introduce it once I start posting my writing of this story. I really hope you all enjoyed this because this story has been in the making for a good while now.
Also not sure if this counts for Romero and Flynn propaganda?

Harper starts Hogwarts part III
Challenge: Little time left for the Back 2 School Chaos challenge
With not much time left, the Nowaks are in a state of disarray to pack everything they need before sending Flynn and Harper off to Hogwarts.
You can read part 1 and part 2 here.
Warnings: Magic hate, mean behaviour
The Nowak house was getting frantic with the suitcases and bags being packed for Flynn and now Harper for the term and getting ready to make the two-and-a-half-hour drive to King's Cross station. After getting the robes, they have been busy packing up for the little time they had left. His parents even planned time off from work, though Isla said she would stay home. It's not like they would have enough space with their suitcases.
"Mum! Where's my Southampton t-shirt?" Flynn yelled down the stairs.
His mother stood there glaring at the bottom of the steps with laundry in one hand and one on her hips.
"Flynn, you don't need to bring your Southampton football top to Hogwarts." Elizabeth sighed. "Besides, I just put it in the wash."
"Why? There was nothing wrong with it?" Flynn shrugged. He heard a snort behind him.
Isla was walking from the bathroom with furiously texting. If it was Flynn's guess, it would likely be her friends.
"Have you ever smelled yourself?" Isla made a jab before going to her and Harper's room.
"I don't smell anything." Flynn sniffed the air around him.
Isla rolled her eyes as Flynn proved her point.
"Well it stunk, Flynn." His mum stated. "Now stop standing there and go be useful and finish packing your things. I have to help your sister."
His mum climbed the stairs past him. She recruited Isla's help for the laundry as Flynn returned to his room, which was a mess. He pulled out all his clothes and dumped them onto his bed, cramming anything he thought he would need. He switched on his Xbox and started playing as he had stuffed in everything he would need.
Flynn stayed on his bed with the game controller in his hand. His mum barged in with a fury painted on her face. Flynn knew that look and scrambled to take off his headphones.
"Flynn Gabriel Nowak!, You were suppose to be packing your things! "She shouted.
"But I have, mum. "Flynn argued.
"Does this look packed to you?! "Elizabeth pointed to the crammed-in clothes that Flynn had just thrown and stuffed into his suitcase. Flynn knew there could only be one correct answer.
"No."
"Oh for goodness sake, Flynn! I thought I you could manage this on your own." She rubbed her forehead. "I have to make dinner soon, so I guess you have to ask Isla to help you out."
Flynn snorted. "Right, like Isla would ever help me, and besides, we still have a week left."
Elizabeth glared coldly. Flynn knew he had to get Isla to help him one or another. He moaned as he got up and entered into his sisters' bedroom.
"Knock first, Flynn!" Isla yelled. Flynn frustratedly sighed but complied with her request. Exiting before he knocked on the door.
"Can I come in?"
"No, so leave now! "Isla refused access. But the door opened regardless by Harper, who was beaming. "Ignore Isla, come in."
Their room was also messy but not nearly as bad as his room. Harper's clothes were neatly packed into her suitcases and bag, too. Her robes were hung outside the white Ikea wardrobe, freshly ironed like his.
"Mum said you need to help me. With packing my clothes."
"No I don't," Isla retorted.
"Mum said-"
"I don't care what mum said. I'm not helping you freaks go off to your magic boarding school." Isla scowled before her attention was diverted to her phone. Harper gave an uncomfortable look at their older sister.
"Okay, I'll just tell mum then, and she'll take away your phone," Flynn shrugged, ready to leave the room.
"Fine!" Isla sighed as she left her bed, snapping her phone closed. Clearly displeased, he followed Flynn to his bedroom. Harper followed like a puppy, eager to help despite not needing to.
Isla wrinkled her nose as she held up Flynn's clothes at arm's length. Harper and Flynn dumped the contents onto his bed as they sorted through the contents. Isla taught them to fold neatly and effectively, though she ended up doing most of the work redoing Flynn's work.
The smell of beef roast floated up from downstairs, causing Flynn's mouth to water. They managed to through half of his things and packed tidily with room to spare. Isla left once the job was done, likely to complain to her friends. Harper lingered around as if she wanted to say something.
"Why does Isla keep calling us freaks?" She asked. "Are we freaks?"
"She's just being mean since she doesn't have any cool powers like us," Flynn answered, though, in reality, he didn't understand. At least his mother was slowly getting around the idea of magic. Still, Isla constantly berated them, but she wasn't always like this. She used to be fun before starting high school.
He stopped understanding Isla when she started high school and acted like she was beneath childish games. She stopped hanging out with Flynn and Harper, yet where the line was drawn was when Flynn got his Hogwarts letter and found out he was a wizard.
Harper nodded as she hugged him. "Yeah, Isla is just a meanie."
"And besides, at Hogwarts, you'll meet many great people. Especially when you get sorted into your house." Flynn said to cheer her up. Harper started to smile again.
"Well I want to be in Gryffindor like you. "
"I hope so too, Harper."

Drew two logos for the first and second story sections of my story!
I had the idea that, since the first section has only three main characters with three more added on in the second section, the logo could be like a half circle or line that ends up developing more and more as other main characters get introduced before fully enclosing the title! Also only just now realized the theme of cool colors for the first three main characters and warm colors for the other three.

Part II of Harper starts Hogwarts
Challenge: 'New Clothes' for the Back 2 School Chaos Challenge
Flynn and Harper go shopping with their reluctant mother for new clothes who sees the magical world as something terrible and destroying her plans for their future but can Flynn change her mind?
Here for part 1 but can be read as a stand alone
Warnings: Magic hate
Walking through Diagon Alley were three of the Nowak brood. It was Flynn's fourth time here; he first went alone with Hagrid, who helped him find everything. The second year, he went with his father, who was curious about the magical world and how it all worked. He was easily fascinated and amused by all he saw, though when his father came home to share what he had witnessed, his mother wanted to hear none. The third was when they bought everything except the school clothes a few weeks ago.
Their father went last time, but his mother had to take them due to the last-minute situation and his father's work preventing him from coming. Flynn didn't miss the roll of her eyes at the breakfast table.
"So this is Diagon Alley? It's a lot smaller than I thought." She remarked. "Don't run ahead, sweetie. Flynn, where can we get the robes?"
"Oh, that's at Madam Malkins." Flynn looked around; he only recalled the dark dewberry with mannequins. He remembered the owls were on the opposite side of the cobbled road, making up the main road of Diagon Alley.
Harper bolted off regardless, looking at every window again. Flynn was distracted alongside Harper until they finally found the Eeylops Owl Emporium. Elizabeth backed off the loud hoots and beady eyes judging her.
"Right, kids. Let's see what we need to get first on the list. "She held the list at a distance, squinting until she put on her reading glasses. "Robes. A pointed hat. Protective gloves, dragon hide or similar. Dragon hide? Dragons are a real thing, Flynn?"
"Yeah, mum. There's actual dragons you know." Flynn shrugged nonchalantly. His time at Hogwarts made him quickly learn that the strange, bizarre and mythical was the normal. His mother's face paled as he said that.
"Wait, actual dragons! At Hogwarts, so cool!" Harper butted in.
Flynn shook his head, his curls landing on his face. "Well, we don't have at Hogwarts but apparently Gringott's had or was the ministry of magic?"
This didn't reassure Elizabeth any further. Instead, she reluctantly ushered them in. She nervously looked round; Flynn realised how out of his place his mum looked like a fish out of water. Wizards and witches look around in black, green and purple robes and pointed hats and his mother in muggle clothes, nervously clutching her bag. To be fair to his mother, there were more muggle parents during July and not the week before the term started.
The seamstress, Madam Malkins, plump and dressed in a soft lilac robe, approached their mother asking about making new robes. Harper went first for measurements. Their mother was astounded by the tape moving like a snake around Harper's shoulders.
Flynn looked around, brushing his fingers over the fabrics and picking up anything interesting. Bags that change texture, robes that can repair themselves.
"Don't touch that Flynn! "Elizabeth slapped his hands away. "You don't know if that's dangerous!"
"It's just sunglasses, mum," Flynn said matter-of-factly as he put the squiggled-shaped sunglasses away.
"Well, I'm learning nothing is truly safe based on what you tell me. "Her voice pitched higher. "I shouldn't let you and Harper go to that wretched, dangerous school."
"Not everything is dangerous, mum. There's so much fun things like quidditch." The look on his mum's face prompted further explanation. "It's were we fly on brooms with three different balls. I'm a beater for my house team. Basically I used a bat to protect my team from bludgers. I also get learn and see magical creatures this year. I heard we might get to see an actual hippogriff, you know those half eagle, half-"
"I get the picture, Flynn. "His mother said coldly. He thought sharing all the fun things he gets to do would be as exciting to her.
He said nothing else. Flynn hated being useless and, worse of all, a disappointment. His mum had already given up the idea of any higher education for him as his grades would just be below or just average. It's why when Flynn showed talent in sports, particularly in football, she clung to it and helped him to pursue his future there.
They didn't speak much throughout the process of getting measured and tailoring the robes. It took a bit for Elizabeth to wrap her head around the wizarding money system. Still, she managed to figure it out quicker than Flynn could remember.
Once they got all they needed as they were about to head home, Flynn spotted the ice cream parlour, now famous for having any flavour possible. Hagrid had told him how the establishment was bought and continued the legacy of the past owner, who was dragged off by death eaters to his demise. His mum and Harper didn't need to know that part of history.
"Mum, mum! Could we have ice cream, please, mum, please!" Harper tugged on Elizabeth's sleeves.
"They have every flavour possible, Mum," Flynn explained.
"Every possible flavour? That's not possible!" Their mum scoffed.
"Could we still have an ice cream, please mum?" He begged alongside his sister. Elizabeth sighed but gave in to their wishes.
There were different and new flavours that Flynn didn't recall seeing last time. Harper went for the gummy bear flavoured while Flynn tried out the custard cream and hot cherry pie. He could taste the blend of the cold custard and hot, sweet flavour melting in his mouth.
Flynn glanced over as he noticed his mum looking curiously at the flavours. His mum hovered near the opening with their most popular ice cream displayed but ultimately approached the ice cream parlour.
"Do you make cherry garcia? "She asked.
"Yes, we can make cherry Garcia for you, ma'am." The man smiled. "That will be three sickles and eleven knuts."
Elizabeth fumbled through her purse and handed the money to him. Five minutes later, he appeared with the ice cream in a cone.
"Bon apetit, madam." He said.
Their mother walked over, ensuring her ice cream didn't spill onto their table. Harper and Flynn cheekily grinned, remembering the fuss their mother made and how stiff she acted around everything to do with magic.
She took a bite of the ice cream. Her eyebrows furrowed before her face displayed mild confusion.
"What is it, mum?" Harper asked.
"How did he do that?"
"Do what?"
"This ice cream taste exactly like how I remember back when I was a child. "Elizabeth pointed to her ice cream. It was a mix of vanilla with a large chunkGarciaherry and chocolate. "Cherry garcia was all the rage back then but now I can hardly find it or doesn't taste how I remember it."
"Maybe its magic? "Flynn grinned.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes, but it was that step forward Flynn had hoped for. It may be small, but it was better than nothing.
