I just had an urge to make my own designs/redesigns on TSE charlie and henry (ofc it's them), so feel free to read my notes/general character designs I had about them! (a little messy, but whatever)
also thought that drawing them with my designs from Hidden Hands AU would be a fun little compare and contrast!! (as my FNAF AU is more game-universe adjacent but still have a few of the novel elements such as Aunt Jen = Jennifer Emily, etc. Tbh I generally treat the FNAF novels and games as NOT the same universes at all, they're completely separate universes in my mind, I feel like it makes the fandom's interpretations a lot more creative/interesting in my opinion since there's really "no canon" universe, I mean we have THREE canons to work with now come on xD)
TSE Character Design notes and my own ramblings below the cut! I mostly just relied on the book descriptions of them and nothing much else other than my own inspiration gathering from 2000s fashion/horror games/media.
TSE charlie character design notes: in the novels' description, TSE charlie had frizzy hair and it was light brown. I found it strange that the graphic novel design overlooked that, so I had to add that in (nothing wrong with charlie's design, I actually quite like TFC Charlie). anyway, my TSE charlie design wears a patchwork denim because I thought it'd give her a little bit more character (and I like the symbolism of patchwork for her - being a person that Henry stitched up together with memories, etc etc. Although I don't like the TSE Charlie = robot twist, it just kinda grew on me) I also wanted her to have a 2000s horror protagonist vibe - although most of the characters I looked at for reference/inspiration had short skirts, so I did a "skirt-like" vibe with her tying TSE henry's flannel to her waist. I like the idea that she kept something of a memento from her father's stuff with her :]
TSE henry notes: his pants are pajamas. man is the ABSOLUTE face of depression. also wanted him to have not seen better days and really look like he's just wallowing in his basement with greying hairs and wrinkles and eyebags and definitely hasn't gone out in weeks, probably a month or so. also thought that glasses would suit him nicely - and I thought him having a long-sleeved flannel and his fit makes him look pretty much from the 2000s/Y2K era. Personally I feel like TSE Henry looked too plain and a problem I had that I had while reading the graphic novel is that they tended to make William and Henry look similar (I straight up thought that one William scene with Elizabeth's memory was Henry. That's how ungodly confused I was) which made it really look uninteresting to me, so I tried my best to make his design describe him a little better.
If you've read this far, thanks so much for reading this! It's just a little fun character design exercise I did and it was really fun having some creative freedom with these two characters!

Yeah it's a shame that Pinkypills is a creep, but I made my own AU version of William Afton because I don't want her dumbass haunting me
Anyways, feel free to draw him, but please credit me

FNAF The Silver eyes au in which Micheal Afton exists! (Inspired by @/ponkekingdom )
He’s the only child of William/Dave. When he was 8 he witnessed his father murder Sammy and Charlie Emily. He tried to convince himself it was just a nightmare, but it still haunted him. He left his family house when he was 17 and changed his name to Schmidt.
He always loved creating robots and when he was a child, Henry taught him to create simple animatronics. He often was left alone with Henry, because his father was incapable of taking care of Mike. As an adult, Micheal is a car mechanic and dreams of opening his own pizzeria with animatronics, just like Henry did. He and his “friend/coworker”, Jeremy, already made prototypes of toy animatronics.
I’m still not sure how to tie him with the story of the books, I need to reread them first. That’s just a rough concept of how his character would look like in this universe.
( sorry for poor English)

Not to be a little freak in you inbox, but I have one complaint with the fnaf fandoms theory side and I’d like to point it out. Sorry for the paragraph.
One thing that’s always saddened me in the fnaf fandom is the narrative that William Afton is a good dad, when evidence points to the contrary. I think it genuinely takes back from a lot of theories!!!
Barring even the book lore which points to what kind of person Afton is, he never displays evidence that he’s not abusive. A lot of theories try to give him a “motive” as to why he behaves the way he does, and so automatically place CC’s death as first in the timeline when it just kinda doesn’t line up with everything else.
I mean, everyone places the Funtimes as representative of Aftons family, but they kinda don’t dwell on the fact that they’re more. Aftons own conception of his family? Maybe the reason why they slot in so cleanly with his family members is because they’re literally how the guy views his own family.
Funtime Foxy is obviously a stand-in for Michael, what with the Fox design and all. But Funtime Foxy also sneaks around and gets up to trouble when you’re not looking, freezing up when you catch him. I think that’s indicative of William knowing about Michael’s pranks on his younger brother.
Funtime Freddy is obviously a stand in for the crying child, and his behavior is a lot more concerning when you realize that’s how William views his son. I mean, Funtime Freddy is incredibly erratic and emotional, and needs to be calmed down by a hand puppet he carries around everywhere. Which is coincidentally a rabbit. You know, like his dad. Who put a walkie talkie in his teddy bear. I just don’t think that’s a very kind way of looking at your son!
Baby looks like Elizabeth but is a gigantic clown, and is the most dangerous design out of everyone in the lineup. I always thought it was strange that he’d place his darling daughter as a clown, but now I know it’s just mean.
Ballora has always been placed as Mrs. Afton, but no one’s really known what to do with her as she doesn’t seem to point to anything else. Maybe there’s something to be said about her always having her eyes closed and being transfixed on dancing, I don’t know. Also she has gigantic booba
Afton’s controlled shocks are. Weird. When you consider them from this angle. Like that’s really the only way you can think of keeping your animatronics in line? By potentially frying their oh so precious servos??? Whatever. I just think it’s kind of funny how the theory side of the fandom insists on Afton having started out as a normal guy when all evidence points to the contrary. It’s 3 am
Yeah. While The Silver Eyes does imply he was outwardly friendly pre-murders, that doesn't mean that he was actually a good guy. Those jealousy-worship journals had to come from somewhere

What motivation do you think William Afton should have had?
Not the one you think he has canonically, but what you wish he had.

I'd like to request HH Charlie meeting TSE Charlie and they compare how their lives went
Sorry that this took a while! Ended up getting carried away and making it a little comic :] I hope you like it!! It was really fun making this, actually. I think they'd both get along really well despite their differences.
Small Henry bonus under the cut.
He read TSE Henry's last letter.
HH Henry, you have no idea what rabbit hole you dug into.
