Anyone remembers when I did this the last time? If you don't, here are reminders number one and number two. This time it's Folken, Merle, and my Cyro. Might be the final one, I will just post the sketches one by one or use them for the chapters I guess.

The first of these (I don't know what to call them) was done for the fic's second bday, the second one around the third. And now it's been... six years, exactly few days ago. Wow. Also, while the first two are sort of love triangles, this one does not contain any pairings (just to be clear). The sketches are rougher compared to the previous ones, well, everything seems to be nowadays. You can practically see the difference here between the OC's face (that's of an earlier date) and the other two (that I finalized only recently). I could try harder and give it some more time but I'm just happy and thankful to be drawing again at all. I will need to get a practiced hand again to get a little bit smoother and I would like to finally start something new. As you know, I like these sort of rough sketches best though tbh I'm dying to color something as well.

P.S. Please bear with me with the next chapter a little longer, it is coming as well.

My latest Picmix GIF, this time in honour of the mysterious Folken Fanel. In this composition, the gears symbolise his association with science and engineering in Zaibach. The clocks represent how he knows his life will be cut short and that he is racing against time. The black feathers recall his black wings and the curse upon him. Folken is one of the most intriguing characters in the anime Vision of Escaflowne with his noble heart allied against his will to the evil forces of Zaibach. I find that he's also a sympathetic and accurate depiction of a depressed person in anime.

My Picmix composition uses official promotional art from the 1996 anime Vision of Escaflowne with digital edits.

Summary:

Dryden Fassa finds an unlikely kindred spirit in the former Strategos of Zaibach as they realize they have both been enchanted by an Aston princess.

Note:

I've had the idea for this fic since at least 2018. Here is the Dryden and Folken buddy story that grew from a one-shot to a trilogy. Such fun to write though. Dryden is one of my favorite characters because he is such a cool cat and a refreshing contrast against the brash and serious major male characters. He is always fun to write and I think he and Folken would get along swimmingly so it was great to write a scene for them to just hang out and discover what they have in common. This is my favorite piece for this week. I finally get to indulge in my ships and it is glorious.

Nevermore

Always loved the work of Edgar Allan Poe and the new show on Netflix about his stories won my heart in an instance. I have a doujinshi with one of his poems in the backlog, don’t know when I finish it.

Inspired by an Alphonse Mucha exhibition this portrait came to live. I had plans to draw the mechanical arm in detail for a while now. Sadly I couldn’t find a good blueprint so it’s mostly improvisation.

Fanart From Ages Past...

This time it's an Escaflowne pic I drew in 2004. It portrays Folken and my original RP character, a teen member of Dilandau's Dragonslayers named Fuuoshi. The idea was that they were "drowning their sorrows" in alcohol, but they've got issues alcohol can't solve, so it's titled "Sorrows That Can Swim."
