I watch a tangerine stream trickle through an avalanche of clouds,

picking up speed as she runs

eroding away the skies snow, 

the river banks glow

towards the mouth she flows, 

set free 

into the glorious tides of the scarlet sea,

infinitely vast 

changing fast 

from the crimson shores to the violet shallows, 

stretching beyond into deep ocean blues, 

Stars reflect

above the rainbows warmest hues

1. Reading has always been my first joy. Ever since I was small it gave me such happiness. It was a refuge, a place for wisdom, for imagination. It still is.

2 . Writing as it is now part of my soul, this sharing and outpouring of words that makes me feel so plentiful and happy.

3. Being outside, enjoying nature, gazing up at the sky, looking at the beauty all around me.

4. Being with the people I love and making them feel loved, my family, my friends.

5. Exercising. I love going out running and lifting weights, yoga, aerobics, really all types of exercise and swimming.

1. Are you named after anyone?

I gather my first name wasn’t taken from anyone in particular, but my middle name was taken from an old close friend of my mother.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Uhh too long ago to remember for sure, I don’t cry nearly as much as I’d like to.

3. Do you have kids?

Nope, and if all goes according to plan I never shall.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Too much, some might say.

5. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Whether their face is kind or not, and then if their voice affirms or refutes the initial judgement.

6. What's your eye color?

Blue!

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Neither?

8. Any special talents?

Many talents, none of them special.

9. Where were you born?

I was supposed to be born at home in my parents’ house, but by chance I arrived early and emerged in an upstairs bedroom of my father’s parents’ house in Buckfastleigh. 

10. What are your hobbies?

I write, I read, I adore music. I play some video games, but not many. Like much of the world at present, I have been playing a whole lot of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

11. Do you have any pets?

I have 1 dog, Obi-Wan Kenobi. He’s a funny little fella.

12. What sports do you play/have you played?

Absolutely nothing now! As a young child I played a lot of football (soccer) and basketball, and I did judo for a time while at university, but sports haven’t been my thing for a long time.

13. How tall are you?

5'8"

14. Favourite subject in school?

I really enjoyed Classical Civilisations at sixth form (age 16-18).

15. Dream job?

Within my current field (specialty coffee) I’d like to get into some kind of training role to pass on the knowledge and skills I’ve built up over the years, but beyond something with writing or publishing would be super cool (and will never happen).

Stranger - Dimash Qudaibergen Watch/Listen here Qudaibergen is a Kazakh singer and musician. He might objectively be the most skilled vocalist in the world at the moment. Stranger showcases his technique, range, and musicality.

Now We Are Free - Ellen Williams Watch/Listen here Williams is a Welsh soprano singer. This is one of the best renditions of this song, in my opinion. Her classically-trained voice shimmers and soars.

Le pire - GIMS Watch/Listen here, Lyrics (FR & EN) GIMS is a Congolese and French singer and songwriter. Le pire’s insightful message demonstrates his exquisite songwriting abilities.

Autumn Finds Winter - Yiruma Listen here Yiruma is a South Korean pianist and composer. This is a lesser-known piece of his but it’s one of my favorites. The blend of the piano and strings takes your breath away.

Les blues du businessman - Céline Dion version Listen here, Lyrics (FR & EN) Dion is a French Canadian singer. This song’s lyrics are relatable as an aspiring writer/artist. Beyond her powerful belting and intricate melismas, she conveys the message with the right emotions.

Who is/are your writer-crush(es)?

Haha this is an interesting ask. There are so many amazing writers here that inspire me deeply! I really don't have nearly enough time to read them all. I don't know that any of them qualify as my crushes per say, but I admire and respect all of them. I always fall a little in love with anyone who has a way with words. 😉 I will list a few below who I can remember off the top of my head (please don't take this as a complete list, since there are so many that I am sure I will forget! SHE TRIED TO FOLLOW HER DESPERATE DREAM

GATHERING FEATHERS, TIGHTLY SEWING EVERY SEAM

Feet On The Ground

Feet on the ground,

I write when it sits,

You can say this and that

but I will fight where it fits.

As the novel starts there isn’t forfeit,

the thoughts ebb and flow quick

both revolving in and out of orbit.

Roses bleeding feelings until they pour thick.

Taking licks in hopes I can absorb it.

The elixir comes with a slow kick.

People talk in circles like vultures; morbid,

don’t get addicted to it or you’ll be more sick.

You’ll be a victim to pain if you only store it.

Sing orphic dreams like metamorphic.

If only the gold within were easy to mine as the gold out, then how many of those goldhearted would have received what they do deserve. But then again, too much of those that live now are overly gold-minded to bother with what is truly pure.
