A conversation I had earlier this week, plus a couple of random unrelated comments I read on the internet, have me curious about this.
A couple of definitions for the poll:
"personally know" = you could call, text, or otherwise privately message that person right now to have a casual conversation, or you could do so at some point in the past. For this purpose, "they follow me on social media somewhere" is not sufficient.
"relatively famous or powerful" - the person is at least somewhat well known in their industry, either by the public or by other professionals in the industry. i.e., for movies/TV, this can range from "is a famous actor" to "is an experienced costumer who has worked on a bunch of major movies or TV shows" and anything related or in between.
"entertainment industry" - seems self explanatory, but in general this means any industry that produces movies, TV shows, cartoons, books, plays, podcasts, games, music, etc etc. The size of the industry is fluid - mostly I'd say if it's something where you could find a fairly sizeable group of people talking about it on the internet, it counts, be it Taylor Swift or the podcasts on MaxFun or an indie game with a thousand passionate people subbed to its subreddit.
The conversation was about whether it's more common now, with the internet, to know someone vaguely famous or not, and how the definitions of such have changed. And part of me wanted to make internet versus offline a criteria here, but this is simpler.

does skyclan have a unique dogwhistle also?
Nah, they don't actually have Thistle Law yet. Sharpclaw is actually what the other Clans consider a Traditionalist.
Euphemisms and dogwhistles exist when you can't be open about your positions, to signal to others in your group that you mean something else.
Sharpclaw was very open about how he didn't want Daylight Warriors to be part of SkyClan. When he waxes poetic about how Spiderstar's Plan Worked And That Era Is Over, that isn't a dogwhistle. That's just a plain old excuse for his bigotry.
It could BECOME a dogwhistle in the future, but SkyClan has simply not been part of the Lake culture long enough to have assimilated as much. Not to mention that Sharpclaw and his cohorts joined The Kin and ended up removing themselves from SkyClan.

It’s Share A Song Sunday! Valentine’s Day is this week, single peeps, how we feeling? (Not great? Me either!)
Anywho, this one is called “REAL PEOPLE LOVE”! I don’t think I have to tell you what it’s about, I’m sure it’s obvious enough as is. I felt stupid acting like a glitching robot, but it was fun so I have no regrets lol. Enjoy!
As always, link to video here: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPR3ySpNA/

For the villain week : Can you do an identety porn fic where Iron Man is a villain , but Tony Stark is still a sponsor for the Avengers ?
The world needs heroes. Like holy fuck does it need heroes.
Sometimes Tony cannot believe that humanity hasn't erased itself yet -- probably not even on purpose because that's the kind of time they live in nowadays, isn't it.
So, heroes are needed. No argument about that. And because Tony is a billionaire with more money than he knows what to do with it kind of makes sense to sponsor the Avengers, doesn't it?
They're the kind of power Earth needs to handle it's more super-human and/or alien threats. And since those only ever seem to increase, it's a good move to get in ahead of the game. That's just good business sense.
(And if Tony rather prefers keeping a close eye on a powder keg like a bunch of overpowered people with razor-thin ties to anything beyond a shadowy not-quite-government organization, well. That's called common sense.)
But.
(And this is a harsh lesson. One it took getting shot at with his own weapons, watching people around him get blown up and die, getting a fucking car battery implanted in his chest and being tortured in a fucking cave until he blew the entire shithole up himself -- getting betrayed and sold by someone he considered family -- for Tony to learn.)
The world needs villains too.
Because the thing is.
There's things that need to be done that no hero can ever own up to. Because they aren't right, they aren't bloodless, they certainly aren't without causalities or collateral damage.
But they need to be done all the same.
And for all that SHIELD likes to pretend pulling strings from the shadows is going to keep the darkest pits of humanity leashed and under control, Tony isn't that naive.
And well, in a way that makes it simple, doesn't it?
After all it's no secret that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
(Sponsoring the Avengers and becoming the feared Iron Man aren't two mutually exclusive options. In fact, it's the opposite. They work towards the same end goal even if the rest of the world is too small-minded to realize it yet.
So what if no one, save for a crazed god eager to burn Earth to the ground, appreciates what Tony has managed to build here?
One day soon it won't matter anymore.)

(how did you get into writing fanfiction?)
Ah, that takes me back! You see, when I was a youngster, roughly around the mid-eighteen century, I started writing stories with a friend I communicated with via carrier pigeon and we - OK, I've decided not to commit to that joke anymore. I honestly don't really have a fun origin story - at some point many moons ago, while exploring this new fangled thing called the Information Superhighway, I, like many others, discovered folks writing fanfic about stories I loved. It seemed like fun, so I started doing it too. And that's really all there is to it!

I have to very carefully balance between acquiring new things, which costs money and space, and updating the things that I already have, which costs energy. (and doing nothing at all, which has an emotional cost.)
so like moving the bed, and altering the headboard, the dresser, and the little side dresser, and maybe one of the walls. and recovering the dress form whenever mom brings it to me. adding a rug, more assorted dangle frills, something to hang my bags on, and maybe a low stool. is what I'm thinking right now. I might move my desk or my bookshelves in there to free up that corner for something else, or I might not.
and that can all be done slowly over time since we're likely to be here a while. possibly the longest I've ever lived anywhere except for my parents', if we stay until she comes home. cuz that's 5 years total in this apartment, and our previous record was 3 in that building I came to despise.

book ask game 1, 30, 34!
1. what is the best book you have ever read?
No I will not stop talking about A Chorus of Dragons by Jenn Lyons. Best book series I've ever set my eyes on in my life, cannot explain how much I adore it. If we're going for one specific book though, book 4, House of Always, is my favorite in the series I think
30. is there a book that changed your life?
It cannot be understated just how much Keeper of the Lost Cities has impacted the trajectory of my life. It's the reason I sought out fandoms, the reason I joined tumblr, the reason I learned to draw and write, and it's brought me into contact with dozens of people important to me I never would've met otherwise. It's what my middle school best friend and I bonded over once I introduced her to them. I am in the kotlc tag daily, it's had quite a profound impact. Also: the twilight saga, but it changed me for the worst <3
34. do you read more than one book at a time?
Frequently! Throughout the school year I'll usually have a physical book I'm reading and an audiobook I listen to during my commute. However, I also end up with multiple physical books in progress at any given time; I generally prefer to keep my attention on one though, but I don't go out of my way to prevent it from happening. I don't even really know how it happens it just does

For Better and For Worse
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: One Direction (Band) Rating: Mature Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Harry Styles/Louis Tomlinson Characters: Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne Additional Tags: #major trauma, #louis gets really hurt, #there's a lot of crying, #some of it's happy crying though, #switch between past and present, #there's some self-indulgent fluff too Summary:
Written for the HL Summer Exchange - @Waterproofbabyvamp, I hope I did justice to your prompt!! (Based on the prompt: "1.Harry and Louis have been together for 5 years and they've been getting questions when they would be getting married and start a family. Bur harry doesnt have the time. They were arguing one morning when Harry had enough and left for work. He's a doctor and works at the a&e there is a call that there has been a bad car crash and that there is more than one patient coming in. Harry does his job good and works on the first patient and everything goes great until his next patient is Louis.")
All standard disclaimers apply - I own nothing, this is entirely a work of fiction, etc. etc. I'm pretty sure Harvard doesn't have a PA or an LMHC program, but hey, creative license! I am also not a medical person, so if I got medical stuff wrong, sorry! In fact, just generally speaking - all the mistakes are mine.
Please do not repost this work anywhere else, and please do not add it for review on Goodreads.
Special thanks to @spotofpurple for the editing, encouragement and support!
Come and see me on Tumblr!!

So it turns out my kitten broke my laptop keyboard such that I have to replace the entire assembly
He is a kitten and thus does not have a job but it seems only fair that he at least TRY to pay for it, what is a gimmick I could use to make him earn the money without needing to become some kind of lifestyle for-profit pet blogger?
