okay screw it! I’ve already got Ruin//Renewal out there, I might as well talk about my OCs in a proper post. So! meet the cast of Task Force Chaos. I only have pictures of the ones I could actually replicate their canon looks for, though..
The actual main Fireteam of TFC:
Tumblr media
Exo Hunter Ruin-7: Void/Arc + Stasis/Strand My Young Wolf! They aren't as mean as they seem, I promise- Assigned Non-binary at rez. Sorry. No one knew what else to call them, and they weren't really helping on that case. (They haven't even given anyone their name! They're just The Guardian or Young Wolf!) They're quite comfortable with it though. Comfortable with feminine addresses in most cases. (Sister, proper titles like Lord/Lady, etc) Although they use a bunch of subclasses, they mostly use their powers to compliment their weaponry and movement. Arc-skating and blinks, Stasis shields, obviously the Strand Grapple. Their most used super is Spectral Blades (or, their Arc/Void version they call Spectral Dance) Canon Ghost! At some point in the future, when they finally give in and embrace being a person instead of a weapon, he adopts the name Renewal. He doesn't now because, personal canon, he told Ruin he'd pick a name when they did. (to be clear, literally no one calls them Ruin. Only Ghost and Osiris even know that name. Noble and Ann just call them G) They also have damage to their plates on the left top part of their head.
Tumblr media
Exo Titan Noble-5: Void/Solar + Strand Slightly shorter than Saint and Shaxx, and just as beefy! Big boi. He's so done with this fireteam, but they're his idiots. Probably one of the most Just A Guy characters I have, even though you can't be Just A Guy when you're out godslaying and scruffing the Archangel and Young Wolf to stop them from destroying everything in a 10 mile radius. Basically TFC's babysitter at this point. I'm so sorry, big man. Your girlfriend and her sister are awful. You deserved better. Mostly uses Sentinel Shield, though his Burning Maul manifests as a similarly oversized, single-bladed axe. Complimenting his status as Big Boi, is his Ghost, Uri! Small. She uses a flower shell! Very shy, and also done with this fireteam as well.
Awoken Warlock Annithia: Solar/Arc She earned herself the title Archangel for her unique Dawnblade, in the form of a spear. Which, inofitself, isn’t impressive (headcanon that everyone’s supers are unique in some way, depending on how they learn/invision it) - but rather what exactly she does with it. Where most Dawnblades do bursts of flight, Ann has taken to the skies! She mostly used it to rain hell on enemy combatants and in rescue missions. Her own unique AOE super similar to a Nova Bomb (which she calls Solaris Spike) plays a large part in the raining hell part. Although, quite literally, 10x older than Ruin, the two are basically sisters - and consider each other such! Although, as a result of being Guardians, the two also take the term Sibling Rivalry to the max. One moment the two are the best of friends, the next there's 2 glowing holes of Solar and Void trying to kill each other. Oops Her Ghost, Nova, is almost as peacock-y as she is, though on the opposite side of the spectrum. Nova's just mean :( She and Failsafe get along, at least Large part of the reason she focuses Solar so hard is the amount of times she froze to death while stuck on Europa after she was rez'd... Redhead (like actual, bright Red-red), blue skin, and fire-colored eyes. Prosthetic right arm, small scar over her right eyebrow
(Dead) Awoken Hunter Lorcarin: Haven’t figured out his subclass, though he feels like a bladedancer to me (at least, prior to his corruption) He was TFC’s Hunter some years before Ruin was rez’d, and had this whole powerlust-driven corruption arc where he modified himself, and likely his Ghost, to hell and back. In the end, the Vanguard dispatched Ann and Noble to take him out. Said mission is also where Ann permanently lost her right arm Not sure what to do about the corruption without being too lore breaking, though. Might just keep it to self-modification, no Taken stuff like I planned, as this happens long before D1
The rest of the cast:
Human Warlock Phyra: Solar Arch rival of the Archangel, man. Ann and Phyra hate each other SO much, it's not even funny. They take pot shots at each other constantly, though have never fought-fought. It's mostly a verbal pissing contest. Why are they even in the same clan Overall, Phyra's just an ass. Like, she is so pretentious about everything. Full-heartedly believes her Solar is second only to Osiris, before he lost his Light. ouch Like Ann, bright orange eyes! But this time, more chocolate-colored, short hair. Darker skin tone (not entirely sure of race! I'm bad with the names of things, sorry. Think Eris)
Tumblr media
Awoken Titan Striker (name in progress): Arc/Void Don't have much on him! Though I know he runs the clan while Ruin and Noble aren't available. He's chill though, and usually has to reign Phyra back in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Exo Twins! Hunter Eerie-3 and Warlock Echo-4: Void Rez'd in Shadowkeep during the New Light campaign. Some canon devianting here and a couple headcanons, all around Shaw Han. Obviously, newest members of the Cosmodrome Cohort! (which is just. a series of abnormally powerful Guardians rez'd in the Cosmodrome, in canon. YW is apart of this group) While she originally had both purple optics, Eerie had a way-too-close encounter with Navota during the strike, which led to her having one of her eyes thoroughly screwed. Echo looks much more masc than his picture makes him look, but I had to use the female exo to get the head I wanted for him In my version of canon, Shaw was actually there for the strike, so it was him and the Exo Twins. Poor man almost lost another Guardian on his watch, right after losing his fireteam. The Twins meet TFC through Shaw, who met TFC through the Last Wish raid (personal canon! He wears the leg armor from that raid, so I've just ran with his fireteam and TFC having done the raid)
The clan's called The Syndicate! Just for the aesthetic tho. It kinda existed before the Red War, in a way. It was a semi-official thing set up out of a former Hunter hidey hole to help New Lights get them on their feet
Outside the clan:
An unnamed Captain (because I have no idea how Eliksni names work): Still figuring out his story! But he’s an ex-pirate who came to House Light while Ruin was out doing Lightfall things. Mostly there to flesh out Ruin's interactions/relationship with House Light/Misraaks and how Eliksni in general feel about The Young Wolf. He has had to be comforted by Misraaks and Eido on multiple occasions because his anxiety is through the damn roof. Poor guy (brought to you by: that one post chain about if the Eliksni have similar tales about the Young Wolf as they do about the Saint. That is such a fun chain to read) (Lightless Civilian) Gale-2: this one’s fun! I love him, but mostly because it’s so much angst. I’m so sorry, Ruin. Gale runs an Exo Modification and Engraving shop on the outskirts of the City, and is mentoring Echo to be a gunsmith. White-camo painting, red lights, celtic-esque designs along what would be cheekbones on an Exo. Big ol', backwards curved horns + two little ones right above his eyes.
my brain is tired now, and while I'd love to talk extensively about what I mean by "I'm so sorry, Ruin" in reference to Gale, I can't much focus on that right now. In simple terms: He's known them in most every one of their lives and was there when they finally died and has a lil bit of guilt over feeling like he caused it. Ruin was also a bit of a daughter-figure stand-in for one he had before he became an Exo. not that Ruin knows any of this. He's their tattoo artist and a tiny bit of a therapist! oof

-_random magical items with sarcastic descriptions that were supposed to be serious and contain lore, by Kay Whatsherlastname
Diamond Pickaxe - (war pick) Sneaky Snitch plays on loop whenever you hold this stupid thing or in the back of your mind while you’re reading this list
Storm’s Mantle - (cloak) cast dimension door at will, but with a maximum distance of 15’; how does it feel to be a bladedancing void champion or whatever
Falcon Bracers - (gauntlet) if you choose to let one other creature act before you in battle, your next unarmed attack deals 3d10 fire and force damage, and knocks the target back 50’; this only works if you are not successfully attacked between holding and acting, so watch the fuck out
Necklace of We Don’t Know Yet - (necklace) it… looks like a necklace of prayer beads?? But like… with 18 beads??? We got no clue what it is but each bead deals 8d6 of something nasty
Starlight Ring - (ring) the gem in this ring holds eight stars in an odd definitely-not-Carina-or-anything formation; you can basically make these fall out of the sky and kill people, they come back after a long rest
Coder’s Ribbon - (uhhhh) once per short rest, while this ribbon is placed on your head (or at least somewhere in your hair) you may “spawn” up to eight of any non-magical medium or smaller object, whether it be weapons or cool cloaks or even food and drink; once per day, roll 1d1,000 (yes you fucking read that right); if the resulting number has either a 2 or a 9 in it, you may cast wish (statistically this is a 54.2% chance but hey who fuckin’ knows, buddy); it also makes you look cute as fuck so even if you’re not into the effect it’s still worth it
The Unspeakable - (“““wand”””) if you touch the tip of this wand against a humanoid creature and activate it, they automatically have to make a tiggle saving throw, and automatically fail if you touch their weak point; just take comfort in the fact that it’s basically an electric toothbrush and… y’know, not what everyone else is thinking it is
Glock - (glock) glock we don’t know why it’s here
Neverending Mask - (mask) this jackal-shaped mask makes you act like Kylo Ren but without a cool army and twice the whiny edge but hey at least you get to throw cubes at people that’s always fun
Soup Spoon - (fork) yeah.
Mini-Hakkero - (wondrous item?) only wieldable by cute sorcerer girls and also basically kills everyone
Carina’s taser whip - (uh) whoops wasn’t supposed to let anyone know she has that moving on~
Headband of Starstorm - (headband?) I don’t remember what this one did but I remember whatever Carina said was really really cool
Empty Plastic Soda 6-Pack Thing - (hi Carina I love you) proof that Merry should definitely not post this and let me laugh at my own jokes in peace
The Core of Mercury - (literally) I hear it goes great with the jackal mask
this... sword... thing - (sword?) it’s all red and chipped in some places and curves like a Mother Fucker but this shiny blue pebble embedded in the crossguard looks tight as hell yo
My favorite beanie - (hat) lets you argue with the DM without dying, hopefully
...hey Carina um is Kay okay_-

Anna Kelso - Destiny Verse
Birth Name: Anna Kelso
Adopted Name: Annushka Lebedev
Nationality: US American
Height: 1.60 mts (5'3" ft)
Weight: 59 kgs (130 lbs)
Date of Birth:  early 2000s
Date of Death: early Golden Age
Rezzed: early Dark Age

Former Affiliation: The Last City
Former Occupation: Forces of the City / Vanguard Scout
Former Fireteam: Bad News for the Bad Guys
Former Affiliation: Takanome's Rangers
Former Occupation: Ranger
Appearance.
Annushka looks like a woman in her late forties to early fifties.
She has a slim figure, described as a “spare, whipcord frame”. Her skin is pale and her eyes are hazel. She has straight brunette shoulder-length hair, which she keeps tied on a knot, with even bangs covering her forehead.
Annushka wears the Ranger 1.0 armour set in black with golden outlines. Her chest piece is decorated with the hunter emblem drawn in thin golden lines wrapped in a pattern of pale blue flowers. Her hunter cloak is black, and bears the Valor in Darkness emblem.
Juggernaut’s shell has a camouflage pattern.
Personality.
Annushka presents a stoic and severe exterior, which she uses to prevent her insecurities or worries from showing.
Underneath that, she is an insightful, strong-willed, if sometimes impatient and impulsive person. Always ready to stand up against injustice and in defence of those she holds dear; she is capable of great anger just as well as great compassion.
Combat.
Having originally worked with the Rangers when she was first rezzed by her Ghost, Annushka has throughout training in the use of rifles. Simultaneously, as the only Risen of that group, Annushka would often be the one to engage in close quarters combat, act as a decoy or spearhead attacks.
For a Guardian, Annushka is unusually reluctant to depend on the Traveler’s Light, an attitude born from a natural distrust of things she does not understand or lacks information on. Because of this, she only uses her class abilities as a last resort.
Having been around since long before Guardian classes were established,  Annushka’s manipulation of the light doesn’t quite fit within an specific class, much less a subclass. Though her preferred approach to battle tends to align better to traditional Hunter standards.
Equipment and Weapons.
- Heavy Pike (North American Empire eagle painted on its bonnet)
-  Arcadia Jumpship
-  Shock Rifle
-  Hunter's Throwing Knife
-  MIDA Multi-Tool Scout Rifle
-  Khvostov 7G-02 Auto Rifle
- Red Death Pulse Rifle
-  The First Curse Hand-Cannon
-  Vestian Dynasty Sidearm
Biography.
Annushka was rezzed by her Ghost during the early days of the Dark Age at what used to be the North West of the North American Empire. She took her name from a letter and a wedding ring she had with herself at the time.
After wandering aimlessly alone for weeks, Annushka managed to steal a Shock Rifle and a Heavy Pike. She used the later to stalk members of the House of Devils, which lead her to the territory under the Traveler.
There she met the Takanome's Rangers for the first time and decided to join them.
Annushka would spend the following years patrolling the ruins of Earth, protecting human outposts, fending off thieves, murderers, Warlords, Fallen and Vex alike.
As the rangers numbers dwindled from a combination of their high mortality rate, few volunteers and the rise of the Iron Lords, they took to burying their dead by the roads they patrolled, planting blue flowers by them.
To this day, implying the rangers are merely a myth is a surefire way to get on Annushka’s bad side.
Ultimately, Annushka found herself alone. During the following years, she would continue patrolling the old ranger routes, guiding whoever asked her to the nascent Last City. Though she would refuse to settle down there, largely due to being weary the Iron Lords would just become a new version of the Warlords.
Ultimately, as the numbers of wanderers to guide dwindled, lost and loneliness became to much for her, and Annushka killed herself, with orders for her Ghost not to bring her back.
Juggernaut would obey this order, until the start of the Faction Wars, when he would bring her back to help sneak refuges away from the City.
When the Faction Wars ended, Annushka guided the refuges back to the City. There, she lived among the civilian population unnoticed by the Vanguard, until the Battle of the Six Fronts, when she revealed herself to fight.
Her status as a Risen revealed, Annushka was pressed into formally joining the Vanguard. She would originally choose to support New Monarchy, both because they granted her access to the Consensus and the feeling they were the only faction that actually had a political and social proposal, even if she didn’t agree with it completely. However, as time passed, Annushka found herself staying more to keep an eye on them and their intentions.
Using her status as a Guardian and affiliation to New Monarchy, Annushka founded the Forces of the City, primarily to train and arm non-Guardians to stand for themselves, and not be at the mercy of Guardians in the event of another Faction War. However, she refused to take leadership of the organization, insisting it should be run by non-Guardians.
She also regularly took up solo scout missions for the Vanguard to keep up appearances.
Osiris’ exile caused Annushka to grow curious of his theories, and she started to surveil the meetings of members of his Cult while on patrol.
During the Battle of the Twilight Gap, Annushka supported and participated of Lord Shaxx’s counterattack against the Fallen.
Having fallen on Lord Saladin’s bad side for supporting Lord Shaxx, Annushka decided to lower her profile for some time, and dedicated herself to study Crypto-Archaeology from Master Rahool. Around this time she started developing an interest for Symmetry’s theories.
Annushka would exploit the Concordant’s failed coup against the Consensus to regain their favour, by participating on the Battle of Bannerfall.
Annushka was disappointed when the Future War Cult was given voice in the Consensus over Symmetry.
In the wake of the Battle of Burning Lake, Annushka finally gathered together a fireteam: Bad News for the Bad Guys.
Destiny:
Under Commander Zavala’s orders, Annushka lead her fireteam to assault the Devil's Lair and kill their High Servitor Sepiks Prime.
Upon receiving the Speaker’s emergency broadcast about the Hive, her fireteam descended into the depths of the Hellmouth to kill Phogoth, the Untamed.
The fireteam descended below the Ishtar Academy and slayed Sekrion, Nexus Mind, preventing Venus' transformation into the Vex network.
When the Cabal unleashed the Psion Flayers to locate one of Rasputin's usurped AI cores to break his control over Mars' defences, Anna’s fireteam was deployed. The Flayers defeated, Rasputin locked down the machine.
Using data from a reclaimed Ishtar archive, Annushka’s team raided the Vault of Glass. Slaying the Templar and its Oracles, they avoided the Gorgons, and confronted Atheon, Time's Conflux in the Glass Throne. Using the Aegis they defeated the Vex overseer and broke the Vex's control over the Vault.
The Dark Below:
Annushka’s team tracked down and killed Crota's last general, Omnigul, temporarily halting the Hive invasion of Earth.
They then went after the Undying Mind and destroyed it before it could  summon back the Black Heart.
The House of Wolves:
When Queen Mara Sov opened the Reef to the Guardians, Annushka travelled there, interested in the opportunity of learning more about the place and what’s beyond the asteroid belt. She instructed her fireteam to stay behind and guard the City, telling them to call for her if it looked like anyone might try to make a move to exploit the hordes of guardians leaving for the Reef.
She spent much time listening to Variks, the Loyal‘s stories about the Eliksni. And took advantage of being able to participate in the Trials of Osiris without having to worry about the Vanguard.
The Taken King:
Annushka’s team answered Rasputin's call for aid in fending off a Fallen attack.
Later, under Cayde-6 orders, Annushka ’s team was deployed to establish patrol beacons across the Dreadnaught.
There they found Alak-Hul, the Darkblade, and slain him per Eris Morn’s recommendation.
Annushka’s team returned to Earth, where they continued fighting the Taken, tracking down a coven at the Cosmodrome .
Finally, the fireteam travelled to the Moon to eliminate Malok, Pride of Oryx  before he could rally the remaining Taken from the Hellmouth.
Rise of Iron:
Annushka’s fireteam patrolled the City’s walls during The Transmission Incident to ensure infected Guardians didn’t enter the City.
Once a cure for the infection was found, the fireteam tracked down Sepiks Perfected, and killed both it and Dresiks, Splicer Baron in the Devils' Lair.
Later, they destroyed a network of SIVA Nodes. Descending into the Hive Nest, they killed Kovik, Splicer Priest, as well as a captive Hive Ogre the Fallen Priest had infused with SIVA.
 They went on to infiltrate Foundry 113 and defeat the duumvirate of Aksis and his second-in-command Vosik inside their Perfection Complex. The Devil Splicers were neutralised.
Destiny 2:
Annushka’s fireteam was killed during the Red Legion’s attack on the Last City when the Guardians were cut from the Traveler’s Light. She spent the immediate aftermath of the initial attack helping civilians sneak out of the City, exploiting the routes she used to do the same back during the days of the Faction Wars. And leading them through the old ranger patrol routes. Eventually she caught the signal set up by Suraya Hawthorne to guide the City refugees to The Farm.
When the Vanguard arrived at the Farm, Annushka rendezvous with them to assist in the attack to free the Traveler. She was part of Hawthorne’s team. Annushka recovered her Light, alongside the rest of the Guardians, once Ghaul was killed.
Annushka stayed in the City until the last remnants of the Red Legion were successfully defeated and cleared. After that, however, she chose to return to the Farm and settled down there, offering her knowledge as a Cryptarch. She also took to planting blue flowers leading to The Farm. She decided to join Devrim Kay’s effort to turn the Farm into a “New City”, officially abandoning the Vanguard and New Monarchy.
Working as a scout at the European Dead Zone, she met the Hunter posse Dead End Cure and joined them as a way to remain up to date with the goings of the City without having to return.
After the learning the Future War Cult had successfully predicted the attack of the Red Legion and had been ignored when trying to warn the Vanguard, she became more receptive to their theories, even if she remained distrustful of their secretive Inner Circle.
Annushka also warmed up to Dead Orbit, thanks to their assistance during the evacuation of the City and deciding to maintain a presence at The Farm, even after the City was retaken.

Me Vs You
Me vs. You
@wraithslight
It was Trials week and that meant Cinder was dragged from recon to actually participate. Royale-7, one of his drinking buddies, was short a fireteam member due to Hawke, their warlock, being out for a concussion. As such, he asked Cinder to fill the gap.
“I don’t care if we go flawless or not,” Royale explained as they sat in orbit waiting for their Titan, “Just wanna get a few matches in.”
“Alright. You have any idea where our first match is?”
“Yeah, Twilight Gap, an old favorite.”
“Not bad, coulda been Crossroads.”
“What?” Laughed Royale, “Get motion sick?”
“It’s not fun to get sniped out of the air.”
“It’s fun if you’re the one doing the sniping.” Royale paused for a moment as another ship joined them, “That’d be Bambi. Hey sweetheart,” he switched focus, “what took you so long?”
A girlish giggle answered him, “Had to do my nails, make sure I’m all dolled up for the other team.”
Royale scoffed, “Women, am I right?”
Cinder allowed himself a little chuckle and recalled what his team was. Royale was a Gunslinger. Bambi, a Sunbreaker and a damn vicious one. Royale sent them the coordinates and soon, they were transmatted in front of the opposing team. It was comprised of an exo Titan, Striker by the mark he wore. The next was an Awoken Warlock, a Voidwalker judging by her vestments. The last was an Exo Hunter , a Gunslinger if Cinder had to bet. The teams shook hands and exchanged pleasantries before Shaxx pulled them back to their respective sides and the match began.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amnesty wasn’t exactly here willingly. He’d been dragged along with the others because they were part of the Hidden and he was a part of the Hidden and...well it was a Hidden thing apparently. The Titan was Monolith-3 and the Warlock was Vira. They were, in Amnesty’s opinion, well matched even if Vira had underestimated the team’s pair of Hunters at first. It was in the third round, the score 2-1. It could be worse. They only had one other win on their card anyway. That was probably the wrong mentality. He rounded a corner and the center of his tracker flashed red. Before he could react, a grip twisted the gun out of his hands and pinned them behind his back, a knife pressed to his throat.
“You really need to stop getting caught like this,” chuckled the Hunter behind him. It was the Bladedancer who Amnesty was unabashedly enamored with. Having him close enough to hear his breath hissing through his respirator was definitely not helping his focus.
“Yeah,” he chokes out, waiting for that fatal stroke. “This is, what, the fourth time you’ve snuck up on me?” He thinks fast as the pressure on the blade increases, “Hey, hey, hey,” the pressure lightens, “You and I both got stuck on a fireteam as a replacement, right?” It was a shot in the dark, but he was willing to take it. He can feel the other Hunter nod behind him. Amnesty relaxes slightly, after all, the guy did have a knife to his throat, “So what say you and I declare a temporary truce, ditch these guys, find a corner, and make out?” His faceplates slid up into a smirk and he waited for the Hunter to slit his throat then and there at the proposition. The next few moments are tense. That knife doesn’t move for what seems like a brief eternity then it pulls away with a sharp scrape across his throat.
“Deal,” says the Hunter, the knife slipping back into a sheathe on his thigh, “If you don’t mind, I prefer you lead. Don’t need you stabbing me in the back after I’ve let my guard down.”
“I won’t, consider this a mutually beneficial, non-manipulative truce.” Amnesty said, creeping along the walls of the compound that made up the center of Twilight Gap before ducking in and locking one of the doors.
“What’s your name?” Amnesty asked, moving something heavy in front of the door, just in case.
“Cinder, yourself?” He took off his helmet, shaking out inky black hair that might have been styled at some point but is now a mess of helmet head.
“Uh, Amnesty, Amnesty-7,”  Amnesty tried not to stare. That failed miserably. Light blue eyes glowed dimly in the half light of the room. Sky blue skin flickered with the odd  ripples of light that the Awoken bore. Amnesty wondered what was under the rest of the armor and in that instant, he almost forgot to take off his own helmet. The airlocks hissed as it came off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cinder’s eyes flicked over the smooth bronze faceplates that dipped off at about halfway down his face. His eyes were two golden candle flames in black sockets. Two ridges started at about brow level and swept back. Where the bronze plates ended, gray and black material began, synthetic lips curled up in a smirk. Cinder closed the gap between them and gripped where his cloak fastened around his neck, where his knife had been moments before. Their lips met a bit roughly. Conder was a bit surprised at how soft the material of Amnesty’s lips was. His thoughts were brought to something else as soon as Amnesty pressed him up against the wall. Nimble fingers gripped onto the Exo’s cloak, right above his spine, pulling him close for more contact. Amnesty could feel Cinder’s heart hammering against his chest and he laced his fingers into that mess of inky locks, giving it a tug. That earned him a little gasp and only encouraged him. He felt fingers tightening in his cloak, digging hard into his back. Amnesty pulled Cinder’s head back, separating their lips and ghosting kisses down his jaw and neck.
“Fuck…” panted Cinder as Amnesty softly bit down on the thin skin covering his throat. The hand not in Cinder’s hand glided down his back, fingers pressing into his spine on the way down and came to rest on the curve of his hips. He was about to try and find where the armor fastened when the door to their little alcove shattered and in stormed Vira.
“There you are! Consorting with the enemy.” She spat and grabbed Amnesty by the cloak, dragging him off with a choking noise. He managed to tug his helmet back on, but before he did, he mouthed “Call me” and made the related gesture by his head. Cinder couldn’t help but smile.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cinder’s team won the match 5-3. Right now, he just wanted to go home. He was about to head towards the Tower when Philip, his Ghost, stopped him.
“Hang on, there’s a pending transmission. It’s from another Guardian.”
“Send it through,” he leaned back in his chair.
“Hey Cinder, this is Amnesty. Remember me?” Began the transmission.
“How could I forget?” Cinder leaned forward, resting his elbows on the console and his chin on folded hands. “What’re you calling for, a dinner date?”
“Something like that. Right now I’ve got a private match lined up on Widow’s Court. So, if you’re interested in a 1v1 rematch set a course and I’ll meet you there.” The transmission clicked off. Cinder took a minute to weigh the pros and cons. On the one hand, he could get his ass kicked. Eh, not like that wasn’t a fairly common occurence already. On the other hand, however, he could get lucky with a rather charming Exo Gunslinger. It was decided.
“Phil, set a course for Widow’s Court.”
The flight there was uneventful and when he landed in the Fallen ravaged European dead zone, he noticed Amnesty leaning against a crumbling wall.
“You ready?” He asked.
“Whenever you are.” Cinder gave a little two fingered salute off his visor. They were then transmatted to their respective ends of the map and the match began. Cinder found Amnesty about in the center of the map, He kept low to the ground, invisible. His footfalls were silent, his breath, slow, stalking, waiting to strike. As Amnesty moved past his hiding place, he sprung. First, he wrested the gun from the other’s hand. Amnesty was forced to draw a knife to block the strike for his face. Metal rang against metal and they fought. Knife fighting, especially against a Bladedancer, was tricky. They were all lightning sharp movements and tricky footwork. He was close, close enough to feel the arc energy prickling off his skin and Amnesty couldn’t help but be dazzled by the way Cinder moved. Every blow aimed at the Awoken was either brushed aside or avoided all together. However, grace wasn’t everything. Cinder’s foot slipped on the dewy grass. Amnesty, chivalrous as he was, reached out and latched onto the strap across Cinder’s chest, stopping his fall. Time seemed to stop. Their eyes locked behind helmets and Amnesty found himself frozen. Here, he could get an easy kill yet...he couldn’t. He was entranced. Something about this particular Hunter entranced him. Just as he was about to snap out of it, Cinder disappeared, reappearing moments later to slam a knee into Amnesty’s chest. The extra momentum from the blink knocked him flat on his back. His eyes finally caught up when he noticed the barrel of a sidearm staring him in the face, He looked past the sidearm to find Cinder across his hips, pinning him down. The last element to be acknowledged was the knife blade pressed against his neck. Amnesty let his hands go lax.
“Alright, you got me.” He waited for the crack of the sidearm to send his Ghost rising out of him. It never came. Then, Amnesty had a thought, a thought that might get him killed. He first gently nudged the sidearm out of his face, As soon as the barrel drifted away from his face, it disappeared from Cinder’s hand and Amnesty noticed that the knife jumped back into a sheath on his forearm. Carefully and very slowly, Amnesty’s fingers hooked under Cinder’s helmet and tugged it off. The airlocks hissed, compressed air streaming out in clouds of white. He still had that helmet head, black hair sticking out and mussed up. A light lavender blush dusted the top of fine cheekbones. Pale lips were lightly parted in soft pants, corners quirking up to for a devilish smirk. His iridescent blue eyes met Amnesty’s gold and he found himself smiling at the mirthful triumph they held. Gauntleted metal fingers tentatively swept up to caress the soft lines of his jaw and cheek, guiding his head lower. Their lips met again, softly at first, but that soon changed. Cinder braced himself on either side of Amnesty’s head, fingers digging into the grass next to him. The kiss became intense. Amnesty’s fingertips clawed down Cinder’s back, drawing out a little groan and causing his back to arch into the rough touch. Cinder shifted his weight so that he could curl his fingers under Amnesty’s neck to more fervently press into his mouth. However, there was an ulterior motive. Arc light sparked from his fingers and into Amnesty’s neck. He gasped, throwing his head back and breaking the kiss. It felt as if dozens of lightning bolts had shot through his neck and spread out in a chill of crisp pleasure.
“What…” he panted, “what was that?”
Cinder, a bit more out of breath, said noting. Instead, he raised a finger and drew it down from Amnesty’s throat to the base of his sternum and Amnesty had to cover his mouth to stifle to moan that almost tore its way out of his throat.
“Why don’t you call Shaxx and tell him that he doesn’t need to waste his time with us,” Cinder purred, resting his hips back, hands sending branches of arc up and down Amnesty’s body.
“You’re…” he let out a shaky exhale, “not going to make this easy, are...are you?”
Cinder flashed a Cheshire grin, “Perks of being with me.”
Amnesty sighed and let his head thud back onto the ground. He called Shaxx via Ghost. “Hey Shaxx, uh,” he clenched his jaw as an arc of Light jolted through his stomach. He hoped his voice didn’t waver, “You don’t need to officiate this match anymore. You know, it’s just two veteran Guardians. We’ll be okay.”
“Are you sure about that Amnesty?”
“Yeah, I-” He gasped audibly, holding down Cinder’s hands that were tracing lightning along his collar bone. That was a mistake. Cinder only intensified the Light jolting from his palms and Amnesty’s body jerked off of the ground with a whimper he hoped Shaxx didn’t hear. Cinder’s grin practically split his face. “I’m sure,” he let go of Cinder’s hands. The silence on the other end was suspicious.
“As you wish. Contact me if you experience issues with resurrecting.” The call clicked off.
“Well?” Asked Cinder, voice languid, expecting, “settled?”
“Oh yeah, we’re settled. However,” he flicked his hips, flipping them and pinning Cinder underneath him. “I think you’ve underestimated me.” Now it was Amnesty’s turn to grin. The look of surprise on Cinder’s face was almost as sweet as his lips.
Destiny 2 news. Visit new worlds, gain new abilities and find new gear. Everything you love on Earth is gone and we have to get it back; let’s do it for the puppies!
At GamesCom 2017 we gave Destiny 2 two well-deserved rewards, Best Shooter and Game of the Show. There were a lot of guardians standing in line to play some PvP and get a t-shirt, emblem-code and can of Rockstar energy drink (promotion for in game loot). We are so far loving all the changes Bungie has made, and for those of you who haven’t read up on everything, we list all the available info below and keep updating this as we near the release date of September 6th. Check out all trailers in one playlist >>> right here <<<
Explore 4 fantastic new worlds
EDZ Or European Dead Zone is the largest open world we have seen in Destiny to date. You can roam a lush forest, an abandoned city, underground cave-systems and a Red Legion military base. According to the latest rumors, a part of the forest isn’t all that lush but haunted. Maybe to the Raid or a Strike, but we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves. You will also find the new social space “the Farm” here, base of Hawthorne – a new NPC – and probably your faction leaders as well.
Nessus Nessus is a planetoid where the Vex occupy the lands and the “Inverted Spire” Strike takes place. The Vex modified this planetoid to look like Venus and the Cabal are mining there for something hidden below the surface.
Titan This moon of Saturn is the home base where Commander Zavala seeks refuge and strengthens to fight Ghaul. On this Golden Age world is no landmass at all, only oil-rig style platform on which you move around. Rumors say there are some spooky things involving wizards going on in the deepest part of the structures on Titan…
Io Before the Traveller landed on Earth, it first visited this sulphuric moon of Jupiter. The connection and lore between Earth and Io is significant, and Ikora Rey is exploring the moon to find out the secrets of the Traveller.
Destiny 2 gameplay changes and new content
Quite a lot has changed in Destiny 2 compared to Destiny the First. We won’t rehash every Destiny system here, but instead offer information from the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal of most use to returning veterans:
Everyone starts fresh even if they import a character.Bungie wanted to “break bones” with game design. No guns, no levels.
The primary, secondary and heavy weapon slot systems have been axed. Players can now equip a kinetic, energy and power weapon.
Weapons no longer feature random rolls.What you see is what you get, every time.
Weapons have a mod slot in Destiny 2.That may mean skins rather than attachments can be added.
Armour stats have changed to “armor, agility and recovery”.No more Intellect, Discipline and Strength.
There is no need to go to Orbit when moving between activities.A seamless Navigator gets you into the action faster.
Players can now open the world map anywhere.The map will show public events and discovered activities.
NPCs will populate social hubs in gameplay spaces.Chat with NPCs to pick up story quests and leads on other activities.
Clans are now an in-game feature.You’ll have a banner, emblems and rewards for every clan member now.
There will be matchmaking for raids and other activities.It’s called Guided Games and it extends to all kinds of activities, no more waiting for clan members to make it to your fireteam.
Guided Games are only available for normal difficulty activities.You can still use it to matchmake Raids, but not the heroic versions.
There are new activity types.The full list revealed so far is Story Campaign, Strikes, Patrols, Quests, Public Events, Crucible (returning), as well as Adventures, World Quests, Lost Sectors and Flashpoints (new).
Adventures are side-missions granted by NPCs.
Lost Sectors are dangerous dungeons, again unlocked through NPCs.
Flashpoint is a weekly PvE event with Nightfall-tier loot.
World Quests are an upgraded form of Adventure.
The first Raid is about “a place you’ll believe is real” and called “the Leviathan”.
Grimoire cards will not be returning. All lore will be in-game instead.
All Destiny 2 activities are hosted on a dedicated server. No host migration as in Destiny the First – but there are still some P2P elements though.
Returning players will be rewarded in Destiny 2. Bungie is keeping most of it secret, but there are some emblems you can earn right now.
Destiny 2 Crucible
Bungie has made significant changes to PvP in Destiny 2, designed to make firefights more intense. For starters, unlike the first game, Destiny 2 PvP modes will be mostly 4v4, as opposed to 6v6.You’ll still receive limited supplies of more powerful ammo, but only the first player to chest gets power ammo. That means there’s a much smaller chance of having your whole team go down while crowding around the ammo crate – and fewer chances per player to use their big guns. Since power weapons also include things like shotguns, this should mean we see players more reliant on primary weapons than ever before.
Bungie has revealed a new Destiny 2 PvP mode called Countdown in which teams are designated offense and defense, and play one round in each role. The attacking team must deliver a bomb to the defending group’s base, and keep it safe long enough for it to explode. Revives are limited. Another new PvP mode in Destiny 2 is Survival. In the mode, players only have a limited pool of revives to share out amongst their whole team; once you’ve run out, death is permanent for the rest of the round.
The developer has also made significant changes to Control mode in Destiny 2. Teams will start with control of one zone each, can capture zones without neutralizing them, and capture zones more quickly. However, they’ll no longer enjoy a capture speed bonus for having multiple players on one control point. So far, Bungie has shown off four Destiny 2 PvP maps, the most unusual of which is the alien Endless Vale on Nessus. On Earth, the more familiar Midtown takes us back to the European Dead Zone and Vostok is set around the Iron temple on Felwinter Peak. The Altar of Flame is a new Mercury map.
Private matches will not be available in Destiny 2 at release, but on the other hand, there may be some sort of ranked play system in place then or soon after, along with the new Trials of the Nine.
Destiny 2 subclasses
Destiny 2 adds at least three new subclasses – one each for Hunter, Warlock and Titan.
The new Hunter subclass is called Arkstriker. The super summons a staff of Arc.
The new Warlock subclass is Dawnblade. The super summons a sword of Solar.
The new Titan subclass is Sentinel. The super summons a Void shield, which can be thrown.
The new Destiny subclasses seem to replace subclasses from the first game – Hunter Bladedancer, Warlock Sunsinger and Titan Defender. Bungie has said the Sunsinger’s resurrection super was boring – but that it’s possible we’ll see other support-focused subclasses in Destiny 2 one day. We haven’t been too impressed by some of the returning classes; Gunslinger is very weak in PvE, judging by the beta.
Weapon system
 Perhaps the most noticeable change to how Destiny 2 looks and feels is in the weapons system. The original game had three weapon slots: primary, secondary, and heavy. Primary weapons were guns like automatic rifles, revolvers, and burst firing guns. Secondary weapons were sniper rifles and shotguns (as well as fusion rifles and side arms), while heavy weapons were exclusively large machine guns, rocket launchers, and, later on, swords.
Now, in Destiny 2, weapon slots are divided between kinetic, energy, and power weapons. Kinetic weapons still feel like standard primary ones: you have your hand cannons, auto rifles, pulse rifles, and so on. Yet energy weapons are now a kind of hybrid class that consists of any non-power weapon with an elemental charge. That means side arms, but also any hand cannon or auto rifle with a solar, void, or arc flavor to it. In other words, your loadout can consist of a hand cannon in one slot and an elemental auto rifle in the next. This brings up a lot of interesting new combinations — imagining taking down an enemy’s solar shield with your auto rifle and then swapping quickly to a hand cannon to land some head shots when his defenses have evaporated.
The power weapons are now where every one-hit-kill weapon has been grouped together. That means shotguns, fusion rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and the all-new grenade launcher are all in one category. You can only have one equipped at any given time. In my time playing the beta, this created an interesting dynamic. Firefights remained long-range at first, as every player used the new submachine class or relied on a hand cannon or auto rifle. But as the power weapon counter went down, players began stocking up on shotgun, sniper, and rocket ammo and the fight took a radical shift toward more hectic, close-range and one-shot play.
M.E. Chung told that this was designed to make Crucible more friendly and less about who could either close the distance faster and pull off that shotgun blast or camp and nail a sniper headshot. “Destiny 1 could have been better on the readability scale,” she said. “One-shot kills suck when they happen to you.” She added that Bungie wants Destiny 2’s multiplayer to be “learnable and watchable experience,” so that when you die you learn something new. This inevitably means less dependence on a “meta” weapon type and more strategic use of supers, latent abilities, and unique load-outs.
