🌸 Updates and FAQs for Watching the TGCF Donghua! 🌸
✴️First, check out my detailed guide HERE if you want to know how to subscribe to YouTube or Bilibili!
Please read through these if you have any questions first before sending in an ask, as it's probably answered here (or the previous guide)!!! If you don't see it here, or still have confusions afterwards, then feel free to send in an ask or DM me!
---
✨Important Notes/Updates✨
Bilibili is allowing non-members to watch for free! No region locks, and you don’t even need to make an account. Free watchers will be one week behind paid members. But this is a legal and free way to support the donghua if you’re unable to pay! (This actually means that you’ll be able to see the episodes faster and for free on Bilibili than you would on YouTube, because YouTube has a two week delay instead of just one week.)
Funimation is broadcasting TGCF in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. These are some of the regions which are blocked by YouTube, so this is an available alternative for those who don’t want to go through Bilibili. They have also stated they will launch in Mexico and Brazil this winter.
ALL broadcasts are in Chinese with hard-coded/embedded English and Chinese subs. (I.e., they come with the broadcast itself, on top of the image. Nothing to toggle on/off, they are automatically there.) They are the exact same across all the platforms.
Please support official releases so that we can get more seasons, and high quality! This is still niche content, believe it or not!
---
✨Frequntly Asked Questions✨
🔹GENERAL FAQs:🔹
1.) "Where is the best place to watch?"
I still reccomend Bilibili's native website/app over all other streaming platforms. This is due to some key points:
Bilibili's website/app gets the episode the very second they drop. There is no delay whatsoever. YouTube and Funimation have been delayed the last two weeks. It's unknown if this is just a hiccup or what, but if watching new episodes ASAP is important to you, going through Bilibili ensures you will not have to worry about any uncertainty.
Price breakdowns: Bilibili's website/app 3-month membership is $10-11 USD. Their YouTube channel's "MBBM Lv2" membership varies by region, but in many places is similar or just a tad more. In the US, the MBBM Lv2 membership and Funimation membership is the same price ($5.99 per month, or $17.97 for 3 months). So you can actually save some cash by going through Bilibili directly.
In the end, this is largely up to personal choice and comfort. Some people may find it difficult to navigate Bilibili's website even with guides and google translate's auto-translate feature. In this case, YouTube or Funimation are fine alternatives. If you also have an existing Funimation sub or plan to use it to watch other shows, then that's perfectly valid too. Similar with the MBBM lv2 sub on YouTube, especially if you want to use it to see other shows (e.g. Legend of Exorcism which is only English-subbed on YouTube).
2.) "Where do I watch for free?"
On Bilibili's website, you can watch episodes for free! You will be one episode behind paid members, but it's a legal way to support the donghua. You don't even need to create an account!
3.) "What episode will be airing when/where?"
Check out the table below for the differences in airing times. Time is 11AM China Time.*
Tumblr media
NOTE: Funimation is technically supposed to be the same as Bilibili members/YouTube MBBM Lv2, but the last few episodes have been delayed so I have no clue.... *Additionally, YouTube's episodes have been delayed by a little bit, but they've aired the same day.
4.) "How can I support the donghua?"
Free, on YouTube: Subscribe to Bilibili's YouTube Channel, give likes to TGCF videos/clips, and leave nice comments!
Free, on Bilibili: Everyone can follow the official TGCF account and page, plus leave likes on videos. All this following stuff requires you to have passed the Bilibili quiz to unlock levels: If you are lv2+, you can leave comments and give coins to offical TGCF videos. (Log in daily to get 1 coin/day if you're lv1+!) If you are lv4+, leave a good 5-star review!
Paid: Buy subscriptions to watch the donghua! Also, merchhhhh~

🔸YOUTUBE-RELATED FAQs🔸
1.) "What's the difference between Bilibili's YouTube Channel's MBBM Lv1 and Lv2 memberships?"
MBBM Lv2 allows you to watch the episodes on the same day as Bilibili's website broadcast.
MBBM Lv1 has new episodes delayed by one week, meaning you will be one episode behind the others. There actually is zero point in subscribing to MBBM Lv1 (unless you want to watch other subbed donghua) because you can watch the same content on Bilibili for absolutely free, since Bilibili is allowing non-members to watch TGCF one episode behind paid members.
You can also watch two episodes behind on YouTube.
2.) "If I have YouTube Premium/Red, do I still need a membership on Bilibili's YouTube page?"
Yes. YouTube premium is completely separate from the channel-specific memberships.
3.) "Are episodes simulcast on YouTube?"
While originally stated as being simulcast, there actually seems to be a bit of a delay on YouTube as of now. It's unclear if this will change with future episodes.
4.) "Do I need a VPN?"
If you are from one of the restricted countries, then yes, you'll need to use a VPN. You can still pay for the subscription as normal, and then use a VPN to watch the donghua. It will not affect payment.
---
🔹BILIBILI-RELATED FAQs:🔹
1.) "Do I need to take that 100-question quiz to sign up for Bilibili or the membership?!"
No, it's totally optional! You do not need it to either watch the free episodes or to buy a membership. It's only if you want to comment and stuff. It might make you think you gotta do it, or enter a code, but it's actually not needed. Check out THIS post for more info!!! (However, you may still want to do it in order to level up and eventually leave a nice review for the donghua!)
2.) "I'm only able to watch 6min on Bilibili's website when I watch from my phone. Do I need the app?"
You do not need the app. Switch your browser to Desktop Mode in order to watch the video in full.
Be sure to download a browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, etc that supports this mode if your native browser doesn't allow for it.
3.) "Can I get the app on iPhone/iOS?"
This depends on if you are in a country where the app is not region locked in the app store. If you're able to download it that way, great! If not, try using a VPN and setting your region to mainland China. It may work. APKs are not useable on iPhones, so unless you know how to sideload apps onto your device, you may be stuck with the app store only.
Do note that you might be unable to pay for a Bilibili membership through the app, depending on version, but you can always simply pay through the website and then use the app as normal. It will apply account-wide on all devices.
4.) "Why are there two versions of the app?"
One seems to be the international version, which is more basic and lets you pay via GooglePay/ApplePay. The other one seems to be made for mainland China, and allows you to even buy merchandise through it (Chinese address/bank acc required). Mostly, both have to be downloaded via APK on Android. But some iOS users have reported different versions of the app being available for them through the app store (namely the int'l ver, and some have said they can use a VPN to get the mainland one).
5.) "Is there any benefit to having the app over just using the website?"
Not really, no. With the app you can buy very cute hualian themed skins for your profile, though (if you have the mainland version of the app). Plus you can save videos for offline viewing.
6.) "Do I need to enter my area code for Bilibili when signing up/in?"
NO, you do not enter your area code in the phone number field. Select your country from the drop-down list and it will automatically consider your area code. (E.g. if you're in America, select 美国 and enter in your number like 5557779999.)
7.) "I didn't get to set a password when signing up, so how do I log into my Bilibili account after being logged out?"
Use the same phone number you did to sign up. Instead of a password, you'll enter in a one-time key that is sent to your phone via text message. (NOTE: some people have reported not receiving these messages, which may vary by phone carrier!)
Tumblr media
As mentioned above, don't include your area code when filling out your number.
Also, if you are signed in on the app on your phone, you can scan the QR code on the log-in page through the app.
8.) "How do I turn off the barrage comments filling up the video I'm watching?"
Select the little button that reads "弹" under the video:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Website vs App)
9.) Is the Bilibili subscription auto-renewing?
No, the 1-month (¥25), 3-month (¥68), 1-year (¥168) subscriptions will not automatically renew. They are a one-time payment only!
Notice that the renewing payments all say "连续" in front of them, which means "continuing" or "successive" types of subscriptions. They are also cheaper than the one-time payment. (E.g. the renewing 3-month sub is ¥45 instead of ¥68.) Moreover, the renewing types are not even available to purchase with PayPal, afaik. You need Alipay or WeChat Pay, etc.
10.) "Can I use the app/membership to read the manhua too?"
Unfortunately, not quite! Your Bilibili account is universal, but you'll need to download the manhua app seperately and topping up M-coins to pay for the manhua. (One-time purchases, either by volume or by chapter as per your choice.)
11.) "What resolutions are available?"
You can watch up to 480p as a free member. Paid members can watch at 1080p and high-bit-rate 1080p. It's possible to chromecast it to TV, too. (I haven't tried it, but others have!)
12.) "Can I watch across multiple devices?"
Yes, you can!
13.) "Do I need a VPN?"
No, Bilibili is not region-locked. However, some particular countries may have Chinese apps blocked.... :(
14.) "I want to leave a comment/review. How do I level up on Bilibili?"
Log in daily, watch at least one video per day, give coins (attained by logging in) to your fave videos, etc! It will definitely take a while haha.
15.) "Will I be able to watch other donghua like MDZS or SVSSS with my membership on Bilibili?"
No, those two donghuas are produced by TenCent, not Bilibili. You will need either a TenCent/WeTV account, or you can watch them on their YouTube channel (free).
---
🔸FUNIMATION-RELATED FAQs🔸
1.) "Is Funimation's broadcast a simulcast?"
It is supposed to be, according to their initial announcements. They seem to be having some technical difficulties, but those may be resolved soon. I suggest keeping an eye on their twitter for updates if you are interested in watching through them!
2.) "Do I have to pay extra on my Funimation sub to watch TGCF?"
No, afaik, the regular $5.99 sub covers TGCF too.
---
I hope this helps out people further, so we can all have an easy time watching the donghua! And please do support it legally! 🙏
If you still need help, feel free to send in an ask!

Spotify Get Hulu Free
Tumblr media
Spencer Platt/Getty Images News/Getty Images
Spotify and Hulu are teaming up to bring you the power of music and television all for one very wallet-friendly price. The subscription-based entertainment companies are partnering up for an all-inclusive offer that includes Spotify Premium and all the Hulu shows you know and love for less than $10 a month. Chances are high you probably have a subscription to at least one of these services, but now you can add Hulu to your Spotify account for free. If you're a current subscriber, you might be wondering how to get a free Hulu subscription through Spotify Premium. Here's how you can catch up on shows and listen to the music you love all for one sweet price.
As of today (March 12), Spotify is giving the ad-supported version of Hulu (which usually costs $5.99-a-month) to all new and existing US Premium subscribers for free. Spotify and Hulu are lowering the price for their all-you-can-stream bundle so that Spotify Premium subscribers can get the ad-supported version of the video streaming service for free. As a benefit, new subscribers will receive their first 30 days of Spotify Premium free, so that’s free Spotify and Hulu and then $9.99 per month thereafter.
Tumblr media
Hulu Free Movies
On Tuesday, March 12, Spotify announced a new partnership with Hulu. The music streaming service will immediately begin offering Hulu's ad-supported subscription to Spotify Premium plans at no additional cost. A Spotify Premium subscription normally costs $9.99 per month. That cost will remain the same, even with the addition of Hulu's ad-supported subscription. Seriously, there aren't any strings attached here and there's no funny business going on. It's that good of a deal. Anyone (new or existing customers) can sign up for this deal until it expires on Monday, June 10, according to Spotify. However, there are only a limited number of subscriptions available, per Spotify. It's possible that this deal may lapse prior to June 10, so the sooner you sign up the better. Here's what you need to do.
For users who already have a Spotify Premium account, visit the Your Services page on the Spotify website. This is where you can manage your account. You can opt-in for the Hulu offer directly in your account settings. It takes all of a few seconds to complete the process. Boom, you're done. See how easy that was?
Watch current hit TV shows and acclaimed movies. Unlimited streaming available via Xbox Series X, S, One, and 360, Playstation 3, 4, and 5, Wii and many other devices.
If you're new to Spotify, you'll need to start by signing up for a new account. To claim this combo deal, head over to the Hulu section of the Spotify website. You'll need to fill in a few personal details like your first and last name, email address, and you'll need a credit card or debit card to link to your account. The sign-up process doesn't take long, either. You'll be done in five minutes and on your way to accessing all sorts of amazing content for just $9.99 per month. In addition to offering Hulu for free, Spotify is offering all new Premium account subscribers 30 free days of music and TV.
Finally, if you have a Hulu ad-supported plan but currently do not have a Spotify account, you can still partake in this deal. Just log into your existing Hulu account and change the billing settings to Spotify, according to the music subscription company. Once you do this, you should be good to go. If you don't switch your billing preferences over, you will be charged for both Spotify and Hulu. So, just double check to make sure you've eliminated that possibility. By signing up for the new Spotify Hulu deal, you will be able to catch up on shows like This Is Us, The Handmaid's Tale, and so many other great shows and movies.
Hulu Free Tv Shows Full Episodes
Tumblr media
You may remember back in January when Hulu decided to drop the price of its ad-supported subscription service from $7.99 to $5.99. That was awesome news for Hulu subscribers like myself. But, the addition of Hulu to Spotify Premium accounts is an entirely different level of awesome. Spotify Premium costs $9.99 on its own. If you're already paying for that, plus a Hulu subscription, go ahead and combine the two services into one payment. You'll save yourself $5, or you can treat yourself to an extra cup of coffee. It's a win-win for everyone.

The Butterfly Woods
There’s a rumour, you know, if you walk far east. Across fields and through plains. Through places unknown and untouched. That there is a place where the world is at your fingertips, where you can have it all. The Butterfly Woods.
Vijaya Galanos loved this rumour. Before the sunrise she’d sketch the leaves in her notebook and imagine what it would be like if she could sketch the woods. She was bullied for this. For being different. She let them and was berated with insults. The only thing that kept the light in her eyes was the idea that there was something more.
Then one day she put her pen down – thought about her life, how she’d spent it dreaming. There was nothing for her, but there might be something east. Against the will of the world she picked up what she needed, her book and pen – as well as money and food of course, Vijaya wasn’t an idiot – then walked out, walked out of everyone’s lives. No goodbyes, because if the Butterfly Woods were real, she was finding them.
She walked a long way.
The first landmark was the Opposite. This because rather than having a clearing in the woods there was a group of trees in a field.
The sun beat down heavily. As Vijaya reached the Opposite, it became obvious how commercialised this was. Being a landmark in the rumour made it a tourist attraction. People were selling souveniers for ridiculous prices.
“Would you like this necklace ma’am? £5.99!”
“Come get your refreshing water bottles!”
“Want to let everyone know? What better then a postcard?”
“I’ll take a waterbottle, please,” Vijaya smiled. She handed over cash and took a gulp. It was refreshing – she hadn’t drunk for ages.
“Going to find the Butterfly Woods?” the vendor asked.
“Like every other tourist that is here, probably,” Vijaya grinned.
“You never know, you might get lucky.”
“You’re a believer?”
“I wouldn’t call it that.”
“Then what would you?”
The vendor laughed. “More of a knowing. I love to imagine things; I even have this butterfly necklace.”
“That’s pretty.”
“Take it. On the cart.”
She was shocked, but happily took the necklace. It felt warm.
“What about you and this believer spirit?”
Vijaya thought for a moment. “I want to prove myself. The Woods seem like a good place for that, somewhere beautiful. Imagine how people would feel if I showed that to them.”
“They’d destroy it and commercialise like this place,” he replied shortly.
Vijaya stared at him for a few seconds. “Thanks for the water.”
She turned and walked off. His words rung in her head. Was it a good idea? She thought back to sights around the world. Humans could get greedy. In a place with the world at its fingertips, who knows what would happen.
Vijaya kept on walking through the lands, her mind abuzz with confusion on what to do. But something else about the man bugged her. He said that he knew. Not believed. The more she thought, the more she wondered if she’d hallucinated him. Nobody else was by the water stand, like it had been invisible.
That was when she halted, realising it had been days. Yet she’d never stopped to drink water, she had never looked up. When she did look up, she saw something. The full moon, covered in stars and the wind blowing. The animals bounding around and the stream trickling beside her.
A single butterfly flew across her face. She ran after it, laughing. Then it got a friend, then more friends, and more friends. Until butterflies were like a cloud, surrounding her. She laughed for the sheer joy of it. Suddenly, her necklace broke; the butterfly charm fell into her palm. She held it up. The butterflies parted, allowing her to see the stars, but something was different. A new constellation, in the shape of a butterfly. It aligned perfectly with her necklace when she tried.
A wood was in front of her. Vijaya didn’t know how it was there, but it was. Like a dream, she approached. Branches glistened, butterflies flitted around and somewhere she could hear singing. The Butterfly Woods.
She reached a clearing, with houses and a fire where children were singing. They looked up, the fire illuminating their friendly faces.
An adult exited a house; the water vendor.
“You?”
“I told you I knew.”
“I don’t understand. I’m from outside, now I can be happy and tell everyone!”
The vendor looked solemnly downwards. “I knew we wouldn’t stay hidden for long, at least someone like you gets the credit.”
Vijaya smiled. “Can I have a tour?”
The woods were angelic. Pristene waterfalls that crashed over rocks covered in moss. Birds chirped, their tiny wings beating. Clear air – the stars were available to see at any time, no obnoxious fog from cars. The children were the happiest. They played together, laughing, throwing sticks and drawing in the ground. Not one of them looked unhealthy. They seemed pure and innocent.
“I don’t understand,” Vijaya said eventually. “I thought that the world would be at your fingertips if you entered, but nothing here seems at all that powerful.”
“It’s powerful because the rumours made it powerful. Revealing something this well known is, well, powerful. People will know your name, it starts a whole new journey for you. Are you saying that isn’t powerful?”
Vijaya looked across, to the children playing at the stream. She imagined thousands of people rushing through the woods, cameras and builders. All for her and what she’s achieved. It would ruin these peoples’ lives just to make hers better. Vijaya Galanos sat down and thought, and finally came to a conclusion.
There’s a rumour you know, if you walk far east. Across fields and through plains. Through places unknown and untouched. That there is a place where the world is at your fingertips, where you can have it all. The Butterfly Woods. But that’s all it is. A rumour.

Hi, everyone! It’s time to venture back out into the world which is a little scary, right? That’s where we are in Northern California – like turtles starting to stick our heads out just a little bit. We’re starting to visit family, actually going to the grocery store, and getting haircuts for everyone – a good thing since we’re all looking a bit like muppets.
Though with the latest numbers in California, who knows where we’re headed. It’s terrifying. Masks, masks, masks, wash, wash, wash.
In case you missed the last two installments of my blog posts, you can catch up by clicking here for week one and here for week two.
This week I’m thrilled to share an insider look into the mind of author Barbara Delinsky, who just dropped her latest hot read, A Week At The Shore, which immediately hit the New York Times bestseller list – her twenty-third novel to do so.
Both Pip and I enjoyed A Week At The Shore immensely.
Full disclosure: Barbara is one of my BadRedhead Media clients (and I’m supremely grateful for that!). I handle her social media, street team, blog and book review optimization, and a good deal of her book promotion.
After finishing the book (which I loved), I had a few questions for Barbara about her writing style, so I emailed them to her and she was kind enough to respond.
A Week At The Shore by Barbara Delinsky Interview
Q: I notice you don’t only use ‘she said’ for dialogue, which I personally love, though as I’m sure you know well, it’s a DEBATE.
A: I’ve actually spent a lot of time thinking about this. I don’t use half as many other words (“she exclaimed,” “she intoned,” or “she declared”) as much as I used to. Yes, there’s something to be said for simple and real. That said, the constant monotony of “she said” gets boring, so I try to find a comfortable balance. This actually ties in with your next question.
Sometimes, the sub for “she said” can express emotion, as in “she cried,” or “she dare say,” or “she whispered.” So it does add something. Still, though, not quite the “show, not tell” rule (see more on that below).
Q: Also, the ‘show, not tell’ rule regarding feelings. You sometimes say what emotions Mallory {Ed. the main character} feels (at times). If I wrote that in my creative writing classes, my teacher would’ve jumped out a window, yet it works. Again, love. All this ‘do this, not that’ advice can be confusing for writers, regardless of genre, myself included.
A: Yes, it does work at times, at least, for me. But then, I never took a creative writing class, so maybe I just don’t know how to show rather than tell. Here, too, I think you have to be guided by common sense. If by “show,” you mean having a character “start to huff and puff,” to show upset, rather than simply to “cry in alarm,” I’d opt for the simpler.
The image of huffing and puffing will distract the reader from what you’re saying. IMHO, the “show, not tell” rule applies to larger things, like rather than saying “her husband could be nasty,” saying something like, “her husband could see her scrubbing the dinner dishes and tell her she was made for this.” So, it’s really giving an example of what you’re saying in summary. Does that make sense?
Q: Yes, absolutely. Also, you write about the past in the present tense – I do this with memoir and blog posts, and prefer to read books or even blog posts/articles written this way. It’s more immediate. When I work with writers in my workshops, they tend to write in the past tense. I haven’t read all of your other books, so I wonder if you do this with all your books?
A: I’m actually not even aware of writing about the past in the present tense, unless it’s a bonafide flashback, in which case it would be in the present. I’ve been experimenting with different tenses book to book. My last book, BEFORE AND AGAIN, was in the first-person past tense, A WEEK AT THE SHORE is in first person present tense.
The latter took some getting used to. And it’s possible that I botched the flashback tenses simply because I’m not ultra-experienced with first-person present. My editor didn’t catch or change anything, though. I agree with you. There is an immediacy to first-person present tense that is nice. That said, the new book I’ve started is in first-person past tense.
Q: Basic skills – I get it. This is how new writers learn. You aren’t new (after writing hundreds of books and stories), so you break rules – is that it?
A: I’m not “schooled” in writing, so I don’t know I’m breaking the rules!!
Q: You’re so skilled, Barbara. Your characters are intricate and layered. This book is a CLASS in writing. Do you ever think about young writers reading your work and learning from you?
A: You are too kind, Rachel. Seriously. I’m just muddling along, basically doing what works for me as a reader, since I have no formal training. Truly. Now I’m just enjoying it.
Barbara has written a few articles for me on my biz site about breaking the writing rules, which I hope you’ll read. She’s a true writer’s writer. I hope you’ll read her books and articles. She’s also an avid reader herself and does weekly book reviews on her blog.
What I’m Reading Now
I’m now reading the third book in the Discovery of Witches series, The Book of Life, and it’s fabulous, just like the others in this series. I’m not going to spoil it for you if you haven’t read these. Harkness is a wonderful writer, and she weaves history, passionate love, and the supernatural together in a way that carries you into other worlds. Even though it’s vampires, witches, and demons, it’s not glowy, corny vampires and evil witches on broomsticks. Harkness’ stories are wholly imaginative.
When I found out Sundance made the first book into a series, I paid for the app ($5.99/month – totally worth it) and watched the entire series in one day. SO GREAT. Perfectly cast, well-acted, leaving me yearning for more. I’m now re-watching it.
What Else I’m Watching
I never did see Being John Malkovich so I watched it with my daughter. Weird flick. Good, but super weird. Definitely takes the, ’15 minutes of fame,’ motto and turns it on its head. Speaking of heads, I’ve never seen such horrible hair in any movie.
Have you seen it? What are your thoughts?
Space Force just came out on Netflix and it’s hilarious. If you’re super conservative, you may not like it, so beware (though they poke fun at both parties). If you can laugh at the ridiculousness of government, please watch. Carrell is great, as usual, and the relationship dynamics are brilliant (and there’s John Malkovich again – great, as usual).
Vanderpump Rules I mentioned previously that this is the one reality show I watch with my 20-year-old daughter, Anya, and we watched the reunion shows – all three of them. I know, ridiculous. Jax is such a joke (his blatant homophobia disgusts me, though he says he supports gays – what?), Jax and Brittany together are just ugh, and Max makes me want to vomit (breaking news – he just got fired – ha!).
And honestly, could Vanderpump be any more white? We’ve been saying this for years.
SO much has happened since last week – wowzers. They’ve fired four people as of this writing for making racist remarks. Either the show will be retooled or canceled. I’m sad to see the epitome of white-girl whiteness Stassi gone – she was at least honest about her privilege. What do you think?
I’d be pretty much done with this show if it wasn’t for my daughter begging me to watch with her (we do watch movies and other shows as well). I’m glad Pumpy fired their asses, otherwise, I’d be done DONE.
Compassion
What’s missing from most reality shows is compassion, which is why I don’t enjoy watching them. We see (and hear, loudly and repeatedly) the negativity, toxicity, and the worst in people because that’s what the editors and producers know will keep viewers coming back – drama.
There are flashes of compassion, e.g., when dealing with the death of a loved one, coming out, infidelity, or mental health issues. I appreciate when Bravo, for example, handles these issues well. I don’t appreciate it when they have not – and they have not in many cases. An overall lack of compassion appears to be missing from many of these people’s lives; however, using The Four Agreements, that’s an assumption on my part; we don’t see behind the scenes or when the cameras are off.
I do have compassion for the casts of these shows who have decided money is worth more than their privacy. They are adults making decisions about their lives, and all that comes with it, as any celebrity does. Now, they’re dealing with the fallout.
“Make good choices!” as Jamie Lee Curtis’s mom in Freaky Friday admonishes a young Lindsay Lohan’s Anna (and we all know how that turned out). Oh, Lindsay. Honestly, she’s such a product of dysfunction, it’s truly sad, but that’s a whole other post.
If only people would listen to their Hollywood movie mothers…
Products Supporting Black Lives Matter
In no particular order, here’s what I’ve bought and am loving:
YUBI: The original fingertip makeup brush is amazing. Worth every penny. How did I not know about this?
Pat McGrath Real Makeup: I’m a sucker for a great eye shadow palette. McGrath’s are pricey but fab-u-lous. Why so spendy? All her products are highly-pigmented so you don’t need much; they’ll last a good long time. Here’s the one I purchased on Amazon. For when, ya know, I actually have somewhere to venture out to.
Body Butter Lady: Lip stuff and of course, body butter. Affordable, smells amazing, and will last a good, long, time.
LipBar: Lips for days, tons of colors and textures to suit anyone.
LipSlut: Awesome colors, and 50% of all proceeds go to support women and children’s charities all the time. Right now, they’re supporting Black Lives Matters. 50% towards charity, 100% against tyranny. Cruelty-free, Vegan.
Their newest shade, F*ck Trump on pre-order, will support civil rights organizations specifically targeted by the Trump organization – I mean, administration. Oopsies.
Here is my current personal selection (F*ck Kavanaugh is a favorite – a pretty brownish-red that wears well):

So that’s it for this week. Would love your feedback on COVID-19, books, movies, shows, makeup, racism, or whatever you want to discuss. Thanks for stopping by!

5 Paid Life & Money Apps That Are Actually Worth The Money
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not too long ago, I wrote an article for TFD all about the fabulous free apps that attend me manage my health. And while I try to be as frugal as possible when using mobile apps, there are a select few that I’ve found really enact warrant the price tag.
Here’s my breakdown of which ones made the slice:
1. Buddhify ($4.99; one-time purchase) Buddhify is a really glowing meditation app. It was recommended to me by a facilitator of a DBT skills group I took last year, and I’m so gay that I found it. It’s pretty unique in its layout — the way you pick a meditation is via its Wheel. There are 12 different options on the multi-colored wheel, with topics like Meditation 101, Stress & Difficult Emotion, Traveling, Going to Sleep, etc.  To be honest, I had a bit of a learning curve with this layout — I wasn’t used to categorizing the type of meditation I wanted before playing it. But once I got the hang of it, the process totally changed the way I meditate. Now, before meditating via Buddhify, I pause to consider what exactly I’m trying to accept out of my practice: enact I need something short to pass the time while on the train? Am I feeling stressed and need to find a way to unexcited down?  Taking the time to ask such questions allows me to maximize the benefits of my practice — I can choose the perfect recording for any moment. After a while, you’ll find your preferred tracks, which you can “Favorite” and save for easy reference. I particularly be pleased the Traveling and Walking tracks, which offer meditations specifically designed to be used on the disappear. I’ve yet to find another meditation app with such multi-purpose tracks.  I also really appreciate the fact that Buddhify is a quality app, but only asks for a one-time payment. Other, more expensive apps (i.e. Headspace) charge on a subscription-based model, which adds up over time. I like that I only had to invest $6.99 (CAD) up-front and can continue using the app for years to advance.  2. DailyPocket, formerly DailyPay ($5.99 premium version; one-time purchase) DailyPocket is a budgeting app that I’ve mentioned in TFD articles before. Although I employ many tools — such as my bank’s mobile app, or even Mint — to accept overviews of my spending habits, this itsy-bitsy app has served me well. Its premium version is 100% worth its weight in gold.  The concept is fabulous: you set a weekly budget, personalize a list of spending categories, and manually enter your purchases as you disappear. Then, the app calculates handy numbers — like how many days are left in the week, how much money you should spend each day to stay within your weekly budget, and what percentage of your weekly budget you’ve spent so far. You can also see visual breakdowns of your spending in the form of pie charts.  I’m not very wonderful at math (or spreadsheets), so this app does a lot of the work for me. I treasure being able to see exactly how much money I can spend for the rest of the week — it takes the guesswork out of budgeting. It kind of blends the process of manually entering expenses into a spreadsheet or journal, but combines that with the convenience of digital tools. I like to employ this app mainly for my weekly disposable income, and I employ other means to calculate larger figures (like my monthly savings, debt repayment, etc.). Again, this app only requires a one-time purchase, which makes its cost-per-employ very, very low. 3. The modern York Times Digital Access ($4 per month currently; promotional rate) When I first tried quitting social media for wonderful, I realized that there was a gap in my daily routine — I had been using Facebook to sustain up with a lot of daily news, from pages I’d followed and friends’ written posts. Without that constant stream of information, I needed a solid way to sustain up with current events.  Personally, I be pleased reading The modern York Times for the bulk of my news. I like the fact that it includes plenty of progressive ideas, but also has a healthy dose of conservative viewpoints. Even though I’m very left-wing in my beliefs, I find it useful to hear opposing perspectives in order to challenge my own ideas and understand their counter-points. I got a promotional offer that allows me to pay $4 per month for digital access, which has been totally worth it. Reading the NYT truly enriches my life, allowing me to sustain up with the news while also enjoying some leisure reading. If you’re trying to limit your social media usage, I’d definitely recommend trying this strategy out — find a reputable news source that you genuinely be pleased reading, and purchase a subscription (bonus points if you can find a promotional rate, which most publications will offer to modern readers!).  In the age of information overload, it can be refreshing to sit down and read wonderful journalism, instead of just scrolling through social media and taking in a haphazard selection of posts (most of which are probably not fact-checked). 4. QuickBooks Self-Employed ($7 per month currently; promotional rate) If you’re a freelancer or otherwise self-employed, I’m sure that you can sympathize with the hassle that is organizing your books and tax documents. There are many upsides to working for yourself, but having to prepare all of your famous financial documents is not one of them. When I first started freelancing, I found that I was getting indolent with record-keeping, which often meant that I was missing out on claiming real business expenses at the halt of the year. So, I ended up purchasing a subscription to QuickBooks Self-Employed (the Canadian edition), and it has been a valid lifesaver. It’s allowed me to sustain track of my accounting, book-keeping, and tax preparation pretty much on autopilot. I simply link my bank accounts/credit cards, etc., and the program automatically imports all of my transactions, which I can then brand as Business or Personal (I am a sole proprietorship, so this helps sustain things separate). I can also import images of receipts for cash transactions — the app then automatically reads the info and imports the data.  This software lets me enjoy a clear overview of my total net income per month, year, etc., and easily organizes all of my tax documents for the halt of the year. There are other options out there — like hiring an accountant or tax professional, or doing everything manually — but for me, this is what works best, and it is cost-effective. The app allows me to stay organized, and to avoid the hassle of doing lots of math (this seems to be a theme in my life), so the monthly price-tag is worth it. 5. Spotify Premium — Family ($4.99 per month; $14.99 price split three ways with family members) Lastly, I enact pay for Spotify Premium. My family members and I split this between the three of us, so we each contribute $4.99 per month. While Spotify isn’t the most novel service, it does enrich my life. I’ve tried free music apps, and I’ve also used the media apps offered through my public library, but they simply aren’t comprehensive or user-friendly enough for my needs. Shelling out the $4.99 is worth it to me, as a former musician who does really appreciate the act of listening to wonderful music. It adds a lot of joy to my days, allowing me to rock out in the shower, in my room, or even with headphones on the bus. And I like the offline mode, which saves me data charges on my phone bill. You could certainly trim this app from your budget if you were really trying to save, but at this point in my life, the subscription fee is manageable and seems reasonable for the enjoyment I accept out of it on a daily basis. Sometimes the itsy-bitsy pleasures in life really are worthwhile. What are your favorite paid apps? enjoy you slice certain ones from your budget, or added others? Let us know in the comments. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 not only convinces with its affordable price but also its dual-camera, its metal case and its capable SoC. Find out in this review whether the Redmi Note 5’s performance is as impressive as its price.
Tumblr media
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Xiaomi smartphones are becoming increasingly more popular in Europe, particularly the Redmi series. Redmi devices have always combined good quality at a reasonable price. The Note 5 is a phablet with a 5.99-inch display, a mid-range SoC, fast Wi-Fi and a dual-camera all for under €240 (~$277).
For reference, our review unit is the M1803E7SG. This is also known as the Redmi Note 5 AI Dual Camera. It is neither the Redmi 5 Plus, which is listed as the Redmi Note 5 on Xiaomi's Mi website, nor is it the Redmi Note 5 Pro either. All three devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, but they feature different camera hardware and memory options among other differences.
We have chosen to compare the Note 5 against the Motorola Moto G6 Plus, the Huawei Y7 2018, the Maze Alpha X and the Honor 7X. Find out in this review how the Note 5 compares with similarly priced competitors and whether it continues the Redmi series ethos.

The Note 5 is available in Lake Blue, Black, Gold and Rose Gold. Our test device is the Rose Gold variant, which has a white front. The Note 5 has a metal case, which proved to be stable during our tests. Our test device did not react to pressure applied to the back of the case, while light pressure on the display causes slight waves in the LCD. Our test device withstood our attempts to bend and twist it, with hardly any creaks or cracking noises when doing so.
The design is not exceptional, but it is stylish. The metal back is sandwiched between color matching plastic areas designed to improve the reception quality. The display is flush with the case but for a slight edge. This is deliberate though and is a relatively smooth edge. The Note 5 weighs 180 g (~6.3 oz) and measures 158.5 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm (~6.2 x ~3 x ~0.32 in). This weight and dimension help the device to feel good in the hand. The rear-facing camera array protrudes slightly from the case, so the Note 5 is slightly unstable on flat surfaces.

There is also a 64 GB/4 GB option, which we would recommend over our test device as they are currently equally priced online. The Note 5 is a Dual-SIM device and supports microSD cards up to 256 GB. MicroSD cards can only be formatted as external storage, which means that app data can only be stored on the 32 GB of internal storage. Incidentally, the card tray has only two slots, so you can either use two nano-SIMs or one SIM and a microSD card.
The Note 5 features an FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0 and a fingerprint sensor. There is even an IR remote that can be used as a remote control. Unfortunately, there is only a microUSB port instead of a USB Type-C port. The microUSB port is only USB 2.0, albeit this supports USB OTG.

Our test device is running MIUI Global 9.5 and Android security patch level March 1st  2018, which was about six weeks old at the time of writing. MIUI looks different than the UI on many other Android smartphones, with Xiaomi implementing numerous changes from stock Android. MIUI should not take Android users too much time to adapt though. Frustratingly, we could not change the screen timeout as the button to confirm the change is missing. Equally frustrating is the energy-saving features, which are overly restrictive. Runtastic, for example, ran correctly only after changing numerous settings.
The Note 5 comes with many additional apps, most of which are by Xiaomi. Fortunately, there is little bloatware except for one social network app.
Communication & GPS The Note 5 is equipped with fast IEEE 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, which is rare for a €240 (~$277) device and one that will make many users happy. While the Note 5 cannot match the Motorola G6 Plus in terms of Wi-Fi performance, the Note 5 is faster than all our other comparison devices. We calculated this performance using our Linksys EA8500 reference router. Our test device loaded websites quickly when we were close to the router, but we did have to wait for some images to load. The Note 5 still had full Wi-Fi reception when we took the device around ten meters (~33 ft) away from the router with three walls between the two devices. Websites loaded just as fast as they do when we tested the Note 5 with it close to our reference router.
The Note 5 supports seven LTE bands, which is rather paltry in comparison to other devices. In practice, this means that you may struggle with connecting to an LTE network in more exotic countries. Our test device had good mobile network reception on the German D2 network. We still had good reception even in buildings in built-up areas.
Phone Functions & Call Quality The Note 5 uses Xiaomi’s phone app, which is much like Google’s standard phone app. Launching the app brings up the keypad and a list of recent calls. There is a small search window in which you can search directly for contacts. Alternatively, you bring up your contact list by clicking the contacts tab. The phone app has numerous settings such as a phone number blacklist and call recording among other features.
The Note 5 has good call quality. Our call partner sounded clear and without any background noise. Our test device reproduced our voice well, but the microphone distorted if we spoke too loudly. The opposite is true over the speakerphone, where the microphone struggled to pick out our voice if we spoke softly. Our counterpart is still easy to understand, albeit there is some mild background noise during quieter moments.
Cameras Example photograph using the front-facing camera Example photograph using the front-facing camera The Note 5 has dual rear-facing cameras, one 12 MP and one 5 MP. The secondary camera is only used to help create depth of field bokeh effect photographs and it cannot be used as a standalone camera. Photos taken with the main camera have fewer details than those taken with more premium smartphones, with some areas coming out particularly muddy and lacking definition. Our test device gets the exposure right in dark areas in good lighting and there is even some detail in very bright areas. Low-light performance is surprisingly good, but there is a clear blue tint to the photos. The Apple iPhone X captures night shots more accurately, but the latter costs practically five times as much as the Note 5. Overall, the Note 5 has an impressive rear-facing camera array given its price.
The main camera can record videos in up to 1080p at 30 FPS. The video quality is passable, although bright areas are often underexposed, while dark areas lack detail. Recordings are sharp though. There is a 120 FPS slow motion feature, which is recorded at 720p.
The Note 5 has a 13 MP front-facing camera, which in theory could make the Note 5 a selfie star. While the Note 5 does well for a more affordable device, it does not come close to more premium smartphones. Dark areas are exposed well, but bright areas often dominate a photograph. Sharpness is rather average too, but the front-facing camera reproduces colors well.

Sharpness is passable, with our test device reproducing text against a colored background well. Transitions between colors appear pixelated, but this is still ok for a device at this price. Generally, images are overly dark, particularly color reproduction.

Xiaomi does not offer any dedicated accessories on its website.
The Note 5 does not come with a manufacturer’s warranty in Europe seeing as Xiaomi are a Chinese company. You will get twenty-four months warranty if you buy through an EU supplier though. Please see our Guarantees, Return policies and Warranties FAQ for country-specific information.
Input Devices & Operation Xiaomi has installed Google GBoard as the Note 5’s default keyboard. Other keyboards are available from the Google Play Store.
The Note 5 has a touchscreen that has a slick, smooth surface. Touch inputs are precise even at the corners and at the edges of the display. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device that quickly and reliably unlocks our test device. The fingerprint sensor does not have any special gestures or configurable commands like we have seen on other devices, such as the ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro. There is a software-based quick ball which displays selected links when you click on them. This feature is less functional than using the standard on-screen navigation buttons though. Whereas opening a link with the quick ball takes a total of two clicks, using the standard navigation buttons takes just one click. A supplementary input method should increase functionality and ease of use in our opinion, rather than further complicate matters.
The hardware buttons can be found on the right-hand side of the case. These feel premium, are easy to use and have a clear pressure point.
The keyboard in portrait mode The keyboard in portrait mode The keyboard in landscape mode The keyboard in landscape mode
Display Sub-pixel array Sub-pixel array The Note 5 has a 5.99-inch display with a 2:1 aspect ratio. The display has a 2,160x1,080 native resolution, which results in a pixel density of 403 PPI. Our test device has an impressively bright display, which averaged 532.2 cd/m² using X-Rite i1Pro 2. Only the Motorola Moto G6 Plus has a brighter display of our comparison devices, with the Honor 7X scoring just slightly lower than the Note 5. The Moto G6 Plus is an outlier in this respect though with its 723 cd/m² average maximum luminosity. This is incredibly bright for a device at this price. The Note 5 has 94% display uniformity too, which is at least 4% better than the best of our comparison devices. In practical terms, this means that the large areas of color look uniformly bright. It is worth pointing out that we achieved this level of luminosity with the device on charge and with the brightness sensor turned off. Measuring our test device either on battery or with the brightness sensor turned on results in a lower average maximum brightness value.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) ℹTo dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether. Screen flickering / PWM detected 2358 Hz ≤ 20 % brightness setting The display backlight flickers at 2358 Hz (Likely utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 20 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.
The frequency of 2358 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering.
In comparison: 51 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 9378 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz was measured.
The Note 5 has a 0.23 cd/m² black value that is both notably good and significantly better than our comparison devices. This low black value helps our test device achieve a laudable 2,252:1 contrast ratio that is leagues ahead of our comparison devices. This helps make colors pop and gives black tones a rich quality to them.
We subjected our test device to our spectrophotometer and CalMAN software to get a more detailed look at the display. The results highlight a significant blue tint to the display, which results in light blue and orange tones looking noticeably different than the sRGB reference color. The color space coverage is good overall, but the blue tint is one downside.
Unfortunately, the Note 5 uses pulse-width modulation (PWM) to regulate luminosity at and below 20% brightness. We notice a flicker to the display when the brightness is at this level, which we measured at 2,358 Hz. This frequency should be high enough for those who are PWM sensitive not to feel any ill effects, although this cannot be guaranteed.
The screen shows slow response rates in our tests and will be unsatisfactory for gamers. In comparison, all tested devices range from 0.9 (minimum) to 636 (maximum) ms. » 83 % of all devices are better. This means that the measured response time is worse than the average of all tested devices (39.7 ms). The Note 5 has a relatively bright display, which helps when using the device outdoors. We could still see screen content with brightness set to maximum if we were not in too bright an area. The display has a glossy finish though, so reflections cannot be avoided.
The Note 5 has an IPS display, which helps to give the device strong viewing angles. There are slight brightness and color shifts at acute viewing angles, but these are picked up more by the camera than they are noticeable by the naked eye.
The Note 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, a mid-range SoC that Qualcomm announced late last year. The Snapdragon 636 has an octa-core Kyro 260 CPU that clocks up to 1.8 GHz. The Snapdragon 636 is a significant improvement on its predecessor, the Snapdragon 630 that powers the Moto G6 Plus. The Snapdragon 636 helps the Note 5 to typically perform around 20% faster than the G6 Plus in benchmarks. Equally, the Note 5 feels snappy in practice, with our test device not slowing down even when we have numerous programs open in the background.
The Snapdragon 636 integrates a Qualcomm Adreno 509 GPU that supports DirectX 12.1, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 and Direct3D 12. This support for modern graphics APIs should ensure that the Note 5 is future proofed at least in terms of graphics. While the Note 5 has faster GPU performance than our comparison devices too, the gap is not as great as in our CPU tests.

The Note 5 performs better than our comparison devices in browser benchmarks too. Our test device even outperformed slightly more expensive devices. Complex HTML 5 websites like Google Interland are displayed fluidly, which is reflective of our real-world use. While the Note 5 is not as fast at loading websites as premium smartphones, it is sufficient for general web browsing.

The Note 5 is on par with our comparison devices in terms of microSD card performance. We tested the Note 5 with our trusted Toshiba Exceria Pro M501 reference microSD card. The Note 5 is equipped with eMMC memory, which is faster than the average of devices that we tested with 32 GB of eMMC memory. eMMC memory is no match for faster UFS memory though. The Note 5 even struggles against the Moto G6 Plus, which is also equipped with eMMC memory.

Games The Note 5 is suitable for relatively simple mobile games. 60 FPS gaming is possible in less demanding titles like “Shadow Fight 3”, but the Note 5 struggles when we tested it against more demanding titles. “Arena of Valor”, for example, only averaged 31 FPS, while “PUBG Mobile” averaged 25 FPS. This is still high enough for stable gaming though. We would recommend looking at more expensive devices if you want to plan the most cutting-edge mobile games at 60 FPS as the Note 5 is not powerful enough for that. The Note 5 is perfectly suited for games like “Shadow Fight 3” and “Angry Birds 2” though.
The Note 5 has a single speaker on the underside of the device, the maximum volume of which we measured at 76.9 dB(A). This is not particularly loud, but the sound quality is fine. High tones are rather overbearing at maximum volume, but the speaker sings when the volume is turned down slightly. The speaker struggles with reproducing deep mid-tones, while we struggled to pick out individual instruments too. Overall though, the Note 5 has an impressive speaker for its price, albeit with a few caveats.
The Note 5 is equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and Bluetooth 5.0. There are currently only a few headphones and speakers that take advantage of Bluetooth 5.0, but fortunately, the new standard is backwards compatible with all previous Bluetooth standards. The sound quality is good for both outputs. The Note 5 has an inbuilt equalizer to tweak the sound over headphones too, but you will need Xiaomi branded headphones to enable this feature.

Battery Life Power Consumption The Note 5 is a relatively inefficient device, with the big display, high screen brightness and the modern but powerful SoC all taking their toll on power consumption.
The Note 5 is relatively efficient when off and on standby, with our test device consuming 0.06 W and 0.2 W respectively. The Note 5 consumes more power than our comparison devices when the display is on though. The Note 5 is anywhere between 12% and 38% less efficient than our comparison devices overall. This is particularly true at maximum load, where our test device consumes 8.2 W. This is not only significantly higher than our comparison devices, but it is also 19% higher than the average of Snapdragon 636 powered devices that we have currently tested.
It is no surprise then that Xiaomi has incorporated aggressive background app management to keep power consumption under control. This degree of aggressiveness can lead to problems that need to run in the background though. We had to tweak the settings for Runtastic to work properly, for example.

Battery Life The Note 5 has a large 4,000 mAh battery, which helps our test device score impressive runtimes in our battery life tests despite the relatively high power consumption. Our test device lasted fourteen hours and thirty-two minutes in our Wi-Fi battery life test, during which we run a script that simulates the load required to render websites. This runtime is considerably longer than our comparison devices, thanks to the Note 5’s additional battery capacity. Our test device lasted thirty hours at idle, which indicates that the Note 5 should last for two working days with moderate use and even longer if you use infrequently use smartphones. Conversely, the Note 5 should last a full day if you use the device a lot, with our test device lasting four hours and eighteen minutes in our continuous stress test.
Xiaomi provides a 10-W quick charger in the box, which fully recharges the Note 5 in under two hours.

Pros + plenty of CPU and GPU power for the money + good call quality + long battery life + bright and high contrast display + Bluetooth 5.0 and 802.11 ac WiFi + reasonable surface temperatures under load + current version of Android + no throttling Cons - relatively high power consumption - strong blue tint to the display - the microphone is frequently too sensitive - the OS is sometimes restrictive for apps Verdict
The Redmi Note 5 is the epitome of Xiaomi’s ethos of releasing affordable but high-performance devices and demonstrates why many are longing for a European wide launch of their devices. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is an affordable smartphone that has plenty of power, good battery life, fast 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, and a bright and high-contrast display for under €240 (~$277). The Note 5 has a good speaker too, while call quality is decent and the Quick Charge support is handy. The modern SoC gives the Note 5 relatively fast LTE speeds, Bluetooth 5.0 and should future proof it for the foreseeable future.
There are some drawbacks though. The color temperature and a blue tint to the display are not great, and neither is the relatively high power consumption despite the impressive battery life. MIUI employs aggressive app management to its detriment too. This can lead to problems with apps that need to run in the background, but it does help to reduce power consumption and lengthen the battery life. The camera is the only area where the Note 5 is clearly a mid-range device, but photos are adequate overall. Surface temperatures are ok too, albeit they could be better under load.

Poetry Suite A Quartet of Love and Death in the Cloud
Poetry Suite
A Quartet of Love and Death in the Cloud
 1 Cloud
Clouds is of solitude that clutters
Around the night of Whole Darkness
Something is revealed a scar in the Fog
Weeping thorns are ambitious
They are transmitted over in the Air
Yellow wailing of peasant women showers purple
On the earth…
Ripples of lights expand
Solitude is not a lonely piece of Cloud in holes of smiles
Not in my pants
Facial expressions stopped our Love and Pains of Shadow
Often -----------
It appears to be the sorrow of your Childhood
Flushed and floating over the Lake of Paradise
Bouts of laughs strokes the Body
Now they are gone with the Wind and Cloud
 Sinking underneath…
 Blue rolls over
Lightening strikes by
Sallow
 Physical draught blows towards
- @ eyes
- fair plaits shine through
- pale
you have become
Beauty in the Castle of Vampires
Ghosts trains carry the Emptiness into our Platform
That was the twightlights of a Morning
 Don is Goo
 Closer and closer together///
This is Now
Understanding experiences of the Spaces and
Physical magnetic fields of a snail’s pace
Urgent is our Homo Sapien’s certain qualities
Tragedies yell at the yellow killing Moon.
Urgent is the telepathic trio
Shouting and screaming and hollering
Towards the Mountains of Fountain and Pines
Our intimacy spun around an endless black holy
Hole…
Your high heels are blogged
The paradise is occasional
The Tables in the house of No. 8 … …
It meant ------- being disturbed up
Inside out
Inside on
In between…
 In the cherry Blossom
- there was your lust longing
- so
- we split
The birth of Darkness we shared the Same Emotion
Smile of bitterness are the Waves of blood and flesh
The bridges has splint and sprint
Good-bye! Chives have been chopped up
Both of you in triumph and the hands that stroke through
Hills and mountains in glory, which are
Darting up up up
 Resplendence
The morning light is not on the Fence
Though when evening approaches,
K is agitated
The fire is pure until now
Occasional coincidence no more in the Front
Frame is the portraiture in the Paint
Abstracted

that is the overall impression
in the dream, desire upsets the satisfaction of a finding that
means losing someone or something or somehow for good
madness has bid us farewells for a while
publishing is recording in the dark
our sight-seeings were simulated vision synchronize
even when we were young
when we ate and shit
fear needs not attack us, amputate us and ambush us
that is why i am looking forward to the vacuum
limbo of no-time, non-space
there will be no tortures on the other side
though that is only an image of a maze
i enter your oval and the navel in the morning
a cave that shelter from the shower
the tangible flesh burs-ted into flames
possession is not important here
love is not important here
memory is not important here
trains of abstract thoughts wield themselves onto our vision
that is still abstract in the dim lights
a vision that is a curve becomes the cave
conceives the poetic emotion in motion
harbouring our ambiguous
rendevouz
the morning was grey

Ocean
At the aft a swift jump is a
Rendevouz means that Nothing’s non-action
Common news together with the Sea Wind blows over
Let’s be romantic! Years toils and peasants coils are buried in the Earth
Only the banal rodents screech occasionally ugly
In a perverse high, there was a longing for the Amour of Vertigo and Delusion
The artificial sun-light is saturated in the Sunset
Smearing the Floats
Then on this side of the Otherness…
Cloud rolls by
a blind leads a blind: the end of the age of innocence
 approached...
orange haze...in the distance
groan is a daze
yet the dark cloud meshes the pleasure of words
mechanically
monotonously
it is a misread dead misconception
 conceivably, boredom wrinkles
they do not snore
when you listen to the void
glaringly, you are in a trance
are we together?

a maze
you and me are a craze
the significance of the well in the desert of h-division
is nowhere
you turn around and see
nobody

it can not undo the knot of a square abattoir

Between the Red Walls the black remembrance and shade

The madness of yours and mine twirls high over the Autumn Leaves
They seem to be decadent and listless
There are diagnostics and symmetry
But sighs of Eminence
The ring bells of the Waif Waist starts to tumble and tinkle…
Poetic weirdness is stuck into the navel of a half crescent
Pollen blows wild
A cross
Blizzard! Stunned! By your paranoid
Numbed by your endless crimson tails
I am being tickled by your Fat bums
Flicking are you in the Flame

That’s it
The euphoria submerged into the dust storm of
Our desert.
Yet the whirlpool of those spirals regenerate our

Disturbed is the sound that drills with our twenty-one grams of Hearts
Unbearably light and low………

wisteria melts its colour in the snow
avanlanch is not for the maniac
I squint from the dark
I see the rattling plastic bags in the caravan
I am not sure of the Together of your hippodrome

Wings grow later after the delivery
still fledgling
as that is not a farewell because
we have not met yet.

as night approaches
what we need is a dialogue
under the blue winter sky
BEFORE it get ugly
Just when the cloud draws a sketch of Innocence and Indolence
In the dark of the hearts

Whiteness stabs into a concept called Love
Violence twists the Flesh of a Child
It swallows the flagrance of the Breast Myth
Milk full-cream stalks our Flirts
Screams are sick on the Hospital beds
Screech is a dagger

Kiss’s women mop up the Red dreams
 Chaos expands
Ambiguity sink in the sands

All is too quick for a lonely gunman

Is our future a Dream?

Imperfections
I woke up
In fright I saw an Embroidery Silk Shoe
Please do not frown
The guilt has turned into the Water Organic

In Memoria, your facet is in love with the Distance?
Of a Poetic Decease that is
Vomiting the Sorrow of Longevity
Vomiting the Yesteryear’s Shadow
Plus the menstrual blood and filth
It is not the refusal of Hate
The forms and shapes of cloud on the edge of the Sky and You
Has vapoured a red stain in the Idea
I saw you are stripped naked streaking among the Walker and Talkers
In the marble cold Square
- as Shadows of ghosts are stalking you
- since the Law is slightly different to the Morality
Then the emotional clashes mutate into the Tumour in the Brains
    The lanterns burst in flames
Up to the starry sky;
Wasted, tasted…
The memories of us, now and then
It’s only 40.41.42 and 43 years
Smothered are your constant stares of Emptiness
Smirks and sleeps of a visionary Image of destitude Mist
Are gone with the Wind
It flies high
As we swam down the tide
As it was drizzling.
    The method of slow discovery
I did not know why before…
The only bliss
Day in and day out…
Mistresses squeal on the Industrial Debris
The Medieval Myth somewhat has wrecked itself
Into a Rubble
Crumble and tumble so far
Night in and night out
People are gossiping the Bottom Line Murder and its Compulsion…
The Doom has its end
Currently ---
We are against the Waves of Raves of indifference
We are against the meaningless freeze of Existence
We are against ---
Life is but a course of action and no-action and non-action…
They again start to brag about the Ruse of Reason and the cause-and-effect
Trains hisses and fizzes in the Metalicaland
The invisible melody is triste of Sorrow and Pieta
Standing is the Constructed Pile Driver Machine
In far and wide footling lands in the Nightmares of Drum beats of
Cacophony
Now, the Images of a dark night has set in
Cobalt moonlight chaser the Drizzles of
Universe and the Meditation of Tranquility
 I am longing for…
But It is only a course of certain kind
A Trip of hearts’ journey!
The shopping spree is stronger than the Digital Desire
People are shrieking
The pollen floats over the soil of Fences
They have a running nose
The spring’s storm is a telephone buzz vanishing in the
Voltage current of the Trams
They are vocalising
We don’t need anything
As the Cat is tasting the cans from the Supermarket
The bones downstairs connects with my Hands
There is an Entrance Door of a scene of
Resurrection
That was not a reason
Indulgence is not a justifying season
 Breathing hard…
Puffs of some cuffs
The finger-nails of Positive and Negative are reduced to
Absurdity
Only the dialectic pierce is tender
Dancing full moon is fictitious seven strings
The chord is wonderful
However, their Fear and Threats, still…
Then we are all posing a gesture of Danger
Life is sweet who would wish to die?
It is the raindrops hitting the Iceberg of the Antarctica
Smile is doubt
Sometimes they need calamity
Of being Calm
Fearless flames unite our Tenderness
The realistic tradition is no infinity
The transaction monetary is not telling a Story
It is but a course
The shrunk gum of Teeth shone the Sunny craze
In the telephone rings
Sturdy shade is short
In the Sky of Sorrow
Illustrating our Rings of Survivals
The moustache and goatees don’t intent to argue with
Emptiness and Blankness
We met in between the Paranoid’s Rant, Slap-across-the-Faces and photos
Languages stresses your Rouge’n’Noir
When my field of Hearts is being irrigated
Fallacy is a Medusa shakily drifting around and around
Our regrets are the early experiences and courses of Production
 3 Rant
 Untitled
A free-verse rant like the freckled digits of yesteryear
The vials of your jelly, across the deck of the insidious creases
Into the hearts of your ac/dc melody
The position is upset
Down the north by south-west, that is our feet direction
While we are wasted in our heads
In the sky !
The polar magnetics attract each other as if in the
Classroom of experimental in the School
Since the steam engine and electric theories were powered
Propelled and sailed Like the dark varrukers Anarchy
Without tanks, fishes and the bullets I bitten
A belt a pistol and the graveyard’s hierarchy
The skins and records
On the turn-tables spin over since the Summer of a four
Digits
Not because we are born for the Facts of Roots
Something is pretty dry
Something is moistened
Something is deep underground,
Thick dark hair expose your Hands of Azalea Red
Butterflies flutter the Sweet Life
Only the Past of Mountains hook up the Soul
You said, my stares are a bit sore
Your perfume is smelt like a font of Phantom
Your belongings is smelt  here  and  Now
I said something
You said,,
Withered sunflowers project over the Earth
Is the mad woman
In elongated limps mermaids by the Sea
Shells breathe
Is proportioned to the Flirt
Rifle points to the Vagina of the Girdle
That is a Desert Scenery
In vague.,
Woke up in the sirens of ambulance and Lullabies
The chords complete are curvaceous
Re-constructed sounds creates another 17
Discordant notes actions of Thoughts are another Praise Song
Beauty is unified and pulled
Beauty is not important here
This is the monologue of a clown
Olympic committee is holding a conference in Sydney
Utopia has a Gang of Five and its members
The extreme confession owns a Past
Today the weather is nice, very nice
The forecast does not predict that of tomorrow
The theory is grey; the pure is takes of some film shots
Please drink the running water after you wash your hands
It is difficult to find the Water in the desert
Although the running water is bleached,
We can release ourselves in the W.C. of the cinema
The discourse of the Power represent a few Buddha statues, bodisattvas and Dories
The operas have got its tune and beat; vacant and lonely
Criterion, critic plus the footnote and commentary are superb.
Colourful environment is beneficial to the Personal Hygiene
Times has changed and men and women are equal
Aunt Guo has just opened an Auto repair Shop
The technicians are busy working
I gave the Car to the boss to relax
Step forward a bit…
Many problems can not be solved straight away
Returning to the Grassland is not impossible
Equality is always centred ; central is -
Anyhow this is a simple fact.
  Until now we chatted
There is a polluted river
Talk is cheap
Words’ goal is one.
The beast in the cage tears apart the rod
For the sake of Love and Scold
Where is the Ideal and Passion?
Lets start to mention the Fear
The smashed guitar openly announces in full mouth
This is not an unreplaced melody
Her throat was slit with a steel wire.
Gimme pleasure
Vanishing faces of red and green
The lies on the Side
Drifting away from the Shore
Of my floating mortal coil
Snoozes in the copulation of Flesh and Death
Being here and now
Redenvouz in the Other Space
I touched your lips
The facial is gone in the Morning
Endless…
Another is the trouble of another
It is just a mistake
Blinking melancholy of Lips
Kissing the stairway to the Vain Hope
My wishes are dirt cheap
   With you, in the Square
Heat wobbles through your swathe of Memory
Groan, purring and growl smut the Dark
Edge that eats up the 69 poses
Waves no longer imitate the mechanic
Motions
There were no Love lotion in your
Dream
night in, night out...
day by day...
Ambient embraces
Shout us a fairy tale of Floss
The nymphs swim and slither over
my Ocean
 day in, night out...
We are together longing for the throbs of
No-space
Negation of a Non-space
Serpent's colours and shapes
Still
Mark and reveal the Images
Phenomenon, which are
Simple
Heat will be with us tonight
In your square
   A Phantom in the Creek
Ye! The Phantom  is at the arm's length
In my Spright the elf of Anna coles
Haunts the Bits and Bytes of the I.T.
A superhighway of Desires
Indolence is the 18 years old with a Top Gun
Crashed and smashed into the buffalo
Over the rocks of the Solitude
Yes! The Phantom is looming in the masquerade
With mercy, melancholy and magarain
A tongue licks fast on the Brim
The cloud of your forlorn eyes
Emotions of a 1967 erotica
Simply twists and turns
Only a U-turn recalls the Pieta, Vanitas and Las Vagas
Yeah! The Phantom is away on the window of the Desert
Our sorrow casts a shadow of Grimace
Over the Psyche, in the name of the Death, Poesy
Nights vapours the flies that
Sneak into our smell
Indolence is a sad washing machine

it has been a collaboration's goal

the project really took off
what has been documented here is only scrapings

it zeros in on the process

80's might not have stood a chance
only time will tell.
to discover the tactics is to rediscover 465 of disused railway yards
of darling harbour and the sound of Sounds
unpoliced and unregulated in a way
the textures are shared
neoliberal going there
and traction of each in the glosses
an incredible band and a lots of bands
  You say, I say
 to pixy
 mermaids swim against
the wind in the sky
along the ocean road of pains
ages of expectation lie by your side
 slithering was your scarlet impressed
writhe-ring flowers had me arrested
waiting is a mind game
my heart sadden timid and tame
dance dance to the bass beats
our imaginations perform best feats
wicked are those sublime fairies
submarine seewees twist my beings hairy
wisteria creeps up your heart of walls
wedges squeeze your very angle of falls
my love cream molten away
be a smooth operator, you say
be a smooth operator, I say
YOU vibrate to the beats of a solo act
my kunadili is risen to the
swirls of an Union
twirls of the Ruptures
surrendering the surrendered
Gaze
I can feel your Cosmic Dance
Returned to the loop of a Resonance
Rotated to the Total Embrace of Succulence
Yieldingly
Peach-flowers have been
In bloom
In the fields of
Grace
In the steam there is a tune
A melody swishing in the mountains of Love
Pieta and Melancholy and
Your face
YOU vibrate to the feats of our Imagination
In this mortal coil
An act without audience
In silence
Heart against heart
Heavy pounding and thudding provoke the Providence
Of a taste
I can not yell that I LOVE YOU
Because you are so far away in the Gaze
I can not yell that I LOVE YOU dream-lover
Because you are so close in the Glaze
So its resonated again over again in our Cosmic
Dance of a trance
 4 Seals
Seals of our six’n’sevens are stamped onto our vulnerable skins
Love is evolving
All we need is evoling Love
Objective in a subjunctive mood
Installed is the Object Love that circulates around
Such are your poses, your stains and pains
The florescent tubes brighten and dim the horns of the
Colourful ghosts runs
Thus, the rashes of our Spectrum rant in the Concrete Boxes
Thus, the innuendo of our Love is rejected, refused and gagged
   Smouldering is our Love
…12,13,14,15…
Smoke is far away
It is destructive no more, you say
Come on
Groan and grunt were 12 years ago
Mystery was coming
Artery I felt and your veins I witnessed
Smouldering was the Past in present tense
Future is now and
Our futuristic worries smother a Thought
Mother tongue was arbitrary
So a spirit translates itself in the Court of Poetic Justice
After all it wasn’t a crime being a Smooth Co-ordinator
As we approached the Fed Square not Time Square nor the Red Square,
Fifteen degree
The funny fanny wedges away like the balloons of Orlando
So I looked back and saw a Wolf; Mum is talking again to me
Wicked laughs echoed in a Six_Dimensional Seascape
So I looked back over again
Nothing but a cat was teasing, purring and tantalizing the crowd
And the Rising Cobra
Music was mesmerising around us
They were pretty clicky
Then we tried hard to be nitty-gritty
The moon would not tell us all
Only the toad in the sugar-cane field illuminated
   albatoir

chicken wings $4.99 a kilo
lamb legs $4.99 a kilo
BBQ thick sausage $1.99 a kilo
lean round steak $5.99 a kilo
tender bone steak $7.99 a kilo
corned silverside $5.99 a kilo
sirloin steak $5.99 a kilo
rump steak $5.99 a kilo
scotch fillet $9.99 a kilo
 - human intestines stir-fried with a bit of red wine -
I shouted
Intellectuals are flayed
Nine peasants are roasted
As my soul is cheap in Glebe morgue
Since the trumpets and trombones were blown……
Feeling are the wings clipped as the sea-gals glide across the Y river
We went up to the balcony of the lounge
Thursday Thursday nights were the darkness of silence
After the underground had the times changed in the wind
In the names of the tainted Love
Uneasiness jumps jams and jinxes at the intersection of
A path:
Our hearts of wails remorse and wrinkles of a hidden Angst
Pumped 70 times per minute
When you rode the pony
When you were young
When we showered off the aftermath of responsibilities well-beings
And crises
 It is called…
It is called…
In the vicinity of our Brittle Dreams which are scaffolding a
Framework of the futuristic noisy tantrum
It was called as
The wind, trumpets and trombones were blown…
  I screamed into the Void
and discovered the Real you
Reflected in the constant reminder of
a longing for the Future
Your Uranus curve girdles our special dimension
In the Cyberspace without your portraiture of a
Past
Concrete is the music
Yet the trip is beyond our Galaxy
Resonance is the sound without feelings
In the mist of our evening twilight
Here comes the rain again.
Here comes the rain again !
In the darkness of some aesthetic of Saxophone,
Surfaces of sensualities and shapes of Danger's
Freedom looms around
We will set free again
In the wildness of some kooky memories of Spoken words spoken,
Fog of uncertainties now and then...
Being affected has no reasons at all.
In our slumbers there once was a story
Not to be told
Your yellow smileys are coming as a grimace of
The pace of walking into the Unknown
A ghostly spectrum of mists in the early evenings
Looming in the Distance
Smile is your face of Flowers longing for the Radiance
Oh! Something is in the way
Our experimental stares are timid
 Sonnet-Elf
The dark cloud dissolve some entities of elves
As I fainted over and over on the ground
Why don't we dance to the wild beats ourselves
Because last night I went up there but never found
Your moon-lit face was sunken in the tainted mirth
As I've been waiting for a tantalizing kiss
Yet what I am left is dull and plain piss
Maybe you know too well the ecstasy of pains of birth
As a sprinkle of morning dew will cleanse off painted filth
Since the congealed blood scarlet evokes to my lost mind
- Loneliness of longings and belongs within it dwells
With elf, nymph and pixy flying low
Advertising something special and spectacular for sell
Love's shadow of lust tilts from toe to toe
Ah! the purple haze shrouds your beguiling souls!
