The legal advisor didn't really know what was acceptable for a one year anniversary. This was her longest relationship, she knew Hu Tao was more relaxed, she'd probably love anything Yanfei did for her, but she still wanted to make it special.

That's why she was planning things a few days in advance, a few ideas of what she wanted to do in mind. Maybe take Hu Tao on a picnic date, take her on a walk somewhere, ideas flew through their mind but they had one thing set in mind.

Hu Tao seemed to be fond of butterflies, Yanfei learned that a long while before the two got together, so that's why she commissioned a butterfly necklace made just for the funeral director. It was silver but had tiny red jewels for eyes, the color fitted Tao in Yanfei's personal opinion.

They could only hope that it wouldn't get broken, she made good money but not good enough to get it repaired constantly. Yanfei had pre-picked a box, suiting for a black one and gently placing the necklace inside, careful to make sure the necklace didn't get tangled.

'This should do surely.' Yanfei thought to herself as she slid the box into a drawer in her office desk, keeping it safe until the day of their anniversary.

The day came, if the Advisor was honest with themselves it came quicker than she expected, Hu Tao was the only thing on her mind as she was quickly making their way through the work given to them that day. Shockingly enough, the monstrous pile of work was gone quicker then expected.

Slipping the box into her pocket, she made her way to the funeral parlor, maybe she could pick Hu Tao up sooner then expected. The director was surprisingly standing at the front door of the parlor, seemingly waiting for Yanfei.

' I had a feeling you'd be here earlier Fei!' Hu Tao embraced Yanfei of a tight hug before pulling away with a slight playful smirk.

' I somehow managed to have a light workload today, why the smirk Tao?'

' I got you something!' Hu Tao motioned for Yanfei to wait for her outside as she quickly rushed back into the parlor, leaving the legal advisor slightly confused.

A few minutes later the director came back with a box and excitingly handed it to Yanfei. ' I wanted to give it to you earlier but I knew I should probably wait.'

Now slightly curious Yanfei noted the box was slightly heavy, but she was able to open it and was a bit shocked at what she saw. 'You've said before that you find Fontaine 's law system tricky so I found a book that perfectly describes Fontaine laws and it has some of their most famous cases! I won't be shocked if you already have it though, or if you heard of it already. I probably should have gotten something else but I didn't know-'

Hu Tao was shushed by a gentle kiss from Yanfei, ' I don't have this one Tao, it's perfect thank you.'

That seemed to quiet the funeral director for a few minutes, returning the kiss once she seemed to snap back to reality, wrapping her hand in Yanfei's. ' I know you have things planned out but I have plans after those plans so why don't you go ahead and show me what you have planned.'

That sounds perfectly amazing to the legal advisor, as she lead the director to a place where they had intricately planned a few days in advance. A picnic basket filled with food made by Xiangling, their first stop was to pick that up.

' Love birds!' Xiangling jokingly yelled at the two as they walked away with the basket, 'how embarrassing' Yanfei silently thought to herself.

' Aww is my deer flustered?' Hu Tao snickered, amused by the sight of a flustered Fei. ' Tao shush. '

Tao did not shush, instead she continued to comment on how adorable Fei looked when flustered.

Yanfei had picked a quiet are slightly outside of Liyue Harbor, placing the basket down they pulled out a blanket and evenly spread it out on the ground. Hu Tao was happy to see that she had gotten steamed fish and prawn dumplings, while Yanfei had gotten Crab Roe Tofu.

The two chatted while eating, cleaning the mess up when done. ' We'll return the basket tomorrow, I still have more plans.'

Yanfei held her hand out and helped Hu Tao get up, holding the basket as she led her girlfriend down a path. ' You like walks, right Tao?'

The funeral director enthusiastically nodded. The path was a different way back to Liyue Harbor, it was long but the two kept eachother company throughout the walk.

' Fei what do you have planned next?' Tao asked as they were almost back to Liyue Harbor, still hand in hand with her lover. 'Its nothing big but I'd still prefer you wait to see.'

'Yanyan please?' ' No, be patient and wait'

By that time they had already arrived back to their original destination, so Hu Tao decided to suck it up and patiently wait, something she wouldn't normally do.

' It's getting late isn't it.' The two were making their way back to Yanfei's home and Hu Tao had noted how dark it had gotten. ' Mhm, but what I have planned shouldn't take to long so you can rest soon.'

' Sleepover?' The funeral director excitingly asked, a new pace in her step as she had already memorized the way back the other's home. 'Yes Tao, a sleepover.'

When the two got home Yanfei sat down with Hu Tao in the living room, they had to admit they were nervous, but she tried her best to reassure herself that Hu Tao would love the gift. ' Soo I got you something.'

Yanfei pulled out the box with Tao's gift and handed it over, watching nervously but also excitingly as she opened it. ' Yanyan I love it!'

Yanfei helped Hu Tao put it on, clasping it in the back for her. ' Now Tao what were your plans?' 'Sleepover.' Yanfei giggled as she ran one of her hands through the other's hair.

The two stared at eachother for a bit, a loving look in each other's eyes as Yanfei continued to play with Hu Tao's hair. The moment was interrupted by a yawn from Hu Tao.

' Sleepy love?' Yanfei asked, trying not to laugh at the adorable sight of their girlfriend's head resting on her lap. Hu Tao mumbled something, probably too tired to understand Yanfei.

' Let's get you too bed, alright?' After a few protests from Hu Tao, who wanted to stay on the couch cuddled up on Yanfei's lap, the legal advisor had managed to get Hu Tao to bed.

The director climbed on top of Yanfei and laid her head on the other's chest, snuggling up to get comfy. Somehow, Yanfei managed to pull a blanket over the both of them, trying not to melt from how adorable she thought her girlfriend was.

' Sleep well Tao'

Hu Tao mumbled something back but Yanfei wasn't able to hear it, her hand finding itself gently combing through the sleepy funeral directors hair. ' Pretty. ' Hu Tao whispered, it shocked Yanfei for a minute but returned back to combing through the directors hair until the two of them fell asleep.

Whiskey x f!reader - a little language, nothing else

Living in the country was supposed to be peaceful. Just you, your dogs, your goats, and the fresh air.

It's anything but peaceful right now. You feel like the world is shattering around you.

Jack is sitting in the leather chair in your living room, hunched forward with his elbows resting on his thighs, his posture a far departure from how he usually lounges like a lazy cat. 

You're across from him, hugging your arms to your chest and trying to keep your face from betraying your emotions as he tells you about the job that's taking him away.

Away from his ranch next to yours. Away from you.

Fuck, how did your neighbor come to mean so much to you? It started with a lost goat (Fitz was an escape artist) and you repaying Jack with dinner on the porch after he brought Fitz back and mended the fence. Then he was coming over to chat every few nights. Then he would ask for some help at his place, for which he obviously had to repay you.

You would look for reasons to spend time in his company at every turn, bringing over leftovers or sharing bottles of wine together after a hard day. You fell so quickly for him. He worked his way into your life and you never saw it coming.

"I promise, it'll just be a few days. I've got Richie and JB lookin' after my place and they promised me they would stop in every day and look after you, too. I made 'em swear it to me," Jack says sweetly. You nod, and ask the question that's been settling deep in your belly since he told you he was leaving for work.

"You said your old job was...dangerous. Is this gonna be dangerous, Jack?" you ask, voice weighted heavily with concern.

He gives you a sad smile. “They’re just callin’ me back for one more job, something they need a specialist for. I should be in and out in under a week.” 

You nod in understanding but anxiety bubbles over in your stomach and you realize you can’t sit still for another second or you might crawl out of your skin. “Well, let me send you off with some things,” you say as you jump up and speed into the kitchen. “Do you need food? I’m sure you do. Do they feed you on the way? Do you take a plane? Of course they would feed you on a plane. If it’s a normal plane. I don’t even know where you’re going.” 

Jack follows you into the kitchen, standing in the middle of the small, tiled room as he watches you zoom back and forth and ramble on. “Hey, it’ll be alright. Can you just…hey-” he says as he tries to get your attention without luck. 

You feel like your anxiety might explode out of you and your head is spinning. “Oh, do you need me to check on your chickens? The boys don’t know how to keep from freaking out Miss Featherington when they go to collect the eggs. She’ll peck their hands clean off. I can do that, I’ll go in the mornings.” You’re still crisscrossing around the kitchen, moving food around but not actually accomplishing anything. 

Jack puts his hand on his hip. “Sugar, I need to tell you-” 

“Shoot, where’s that leftover meatloaf I made you the other night? I thought I froze some for you. I can thaw it and make you some sandwiches,” you say without actually hearing him calling your name repeatedly, trying to get your attention. 

Finally, Jack’s frustration boils over. “I know you’re busy trying to take care of me, but it’s important,” he says, grabbing you gently by the shoulders to stop your frantic movement. “I need to tell you something.” 

You look into his eyes, his soulful brown eyes, and the tears finally well up as you think about saying goodbye to him. “I’m sorry,” you say softly. 

“Oh my little honeybee, don’t apologize. I don’t want to leave ya, but I need to tell you something before I do. I hope I’m not being too forward, but I’ve got it something terrible for you,” he tells you, his eyes shining with emotion. “I love you.”

You stare at him, horrified. “Oh my god, you are doing something dangerous!” you exclaim, grabbing his hands where they rest on your shoulders. “Is that why you’re saying this?” 

He pulls you close and your arms automatically wrap around him. You bury your face in his soft shirt and feel calm for the first time in minutes when he hugs you tight. “I should have said it a long time ago. I’ve been feelin’ it for so long, but I didn’t have the guts to say. It was awfully cowardly of me. Remember that night on your porch when the wind was howlin’ and you were sat up right next to me?” 

You nod against him. “I loved that night. I told you things I’ve never told anyone.”

“Me too, sugar. I wanted to kiss you so bad and I chickened out because I didn’t want to ruin things,” he explains. 

“You wouldn’t have ruined a thing, Jack,” you promise, looking up at him. “I would have let you kiss me.” 

He chuckles, brushing your hair away from your face. “Well, this is what I get for being afraid. A rushed love confession as I’m about to leave for a stretch.” 

“Are you leaving right now?” you inquire, unable to imagine him not in your arms in this moment. 

“I’ve got a few minutes, my sweet girl.” 

“Kiss me before you go? And come home to me safe, so we can do this right?” you plead. 

“Whatever you say, honeybee,” he says, slotting his lips to yours and kissing you like you’ve always wanted him to.

Because this is for Eri and she only deserves happy endings, Jack comes back and they live happily together with all their animals.

you could not have asked this to a worse person 😭😭😭 I can’t cook for shit and I get happy just looking at recipe videos 😭

Anywho, here are my favourite ones that I’ve found along the way, hope you like them ♡

1. Peri Peri Chicken and Rice - it’s a medium hard recipe (to me, because of the roasted veggies lol) but it’s delicious and you could definitely try it sometime around the weekend!

2. The Famous Baked Feta and Tomato Pasta that is super easy and yet I fucked up a good number of times before it came anywhere near edible. You can try it with shrimp, but I find chicken works well too!

3. Air Fryer Frittata - a fairly easy recipe but you need an air fryer for this :/

4. My go-to Depression Soup which is super-duper duper easy and delicious and like my favourite

5. My absolute favourite chicken curry and rice recipe (she says a few phrases in Hindi but the rest is in English and the recipe is in English!)

6. Plants on Sauce - you can check out her entire series, but this one is my favourite

7. RAMEN! RAMEN! RAMEN!

8. Okay, maybe I just love chickpea - here’s a chickpea curry recipe

9. Hainanese Chicken Rise - it’s one bowl and I’m lazy

10. Another chickpea recipe

11. Spinach gnocchi

12. Desserts - fudge brownies, strawberry cobbler, chocolate mug cake, blueberry yogurt clusters 🫐🍫

13. Drinks - Lychee Ade (is easy, looks pretty: win-win!), the Ponyo Drink!!!! Summer drink (I skip the vodka, you can too) for upcoming summer inspo and vegan peppermint mocha ☕️ for these terrible February nights

♡ The love between a lamb and a lil pup ♡

One day,a lamb walked along a stone path,small flowers and clovers take up the spaces between it's cracks.

The lambs mind was on a path of its own,full of thoughts and daydreams... A pup walks on the same path as well.. taking a moment to admire the soon to bloom flowers along the paths sides.

With the lamb lost in thought,and the pup sitting one stone,they block each other's way. It only took the lamb a few seconds,and the pup's shadow to notice that she couldn't walk any further.

The lamb looks down to them to speak, "Hello?.."

A hint of nervousness in her voice;they've never really interacted with anyone besides family so this is new to them The pup shared the same expression,but replaced it with a slightly cheerful one,just to seem friendly.

"Oh,hi! Sorry,am I in your way?.." The pup lifts their self up on their four feet,the lambs wool stiffness up and they slur up their words,feeling like a burden for ruining the small pups moment..

"Oh,no no no! I..it's fine...you.. y-your not in the way... I can just..turn back... sorry to bother you...

The pup protested, "Hey,come back! You weren't bothering me! I was in the way so I should be apologizing!.. here,have this...to show my sorry.."

The pup flips his flower crown off their head onto the stone floor. The lamb was hesitant,but flips the flower crown onto their head despite that. "....Thank you.."

They both giggled to each other,than a moment of silence took place... "Would you like to join me on my walk?.." asked the lamb,offering her hoove to the pup,not expecting to feel the other animals paw.

"Sure,why not!"

11 months later,the two little one's have formed a bound more beautiful and quickly then expected,they first became very close friends,and now being lover's,who knew? Most of their evenings being spent making flower crowns,watching sunsets and awakening stars,and reading books... what a sweet love they have formed...♡
